I began asking this question while I was in the military in the 60’s and over the past 50 years have come to some conclusions that may, be diametrically opposed to the views of a few reading this blog. In most of the places I traveled during my military days I found that America was a place that many wanted to come but viewed Americans with something less than a favorable attitude. Over the past few decades the latter portion has not changed and although many still want to come here, viewing it far superior to what they face in their own country, much of the world holds a negative view of America and Americans. My question has been and is why? Let me give you a few of my conclusions:

1. Jealousy. There are governments and people throughout the world who are jealous of the success, prosperity, freedom and independence we have enjoyed as Americans and as America. They fail to take into consideration the great price paid by America and Americans to attain this position, and our efforts to come to the aid other countries such as WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and all the other times we’ve stepped up to the plate to help keep the world from being goose-stepped down the path of Tyrannical Despotism. Our freedom has come at a price few could have or would have paid, and often without any recognition or appreciation from those we helped. It is even overlooked within our own ranks, and most fail to understand, the fragile nature of freedom, or the price that is frequently paid for success.

2. Attitude. While traveling to various parts of the world as a member of the U.S. military, I watched the visible dislike and disrespect toward American servicemen and Americans in general. That, to some degree, if not to a great degree, was the result of our attitude while in their countries. Most of those places impoverished as the were, understood the value of every penny and commodity. Most of the guys I served with showed no interest in cost, getting a fair deal or the value of money they just wanted what they wanted and didn’t care. I was, treated with more respect than most of my fellow servicemen because I haggled over price, counted my change and demanded a fair price for whatever I purchased. Maybe that was because I grew up poor and didn’t make much money. Maybe it was because I saw how they did things and out of respect for their cultures and values I attempted to blend in. Maybe it was just God protecting me and giving me favor that paid off more than once. I don’t know, but I know that American servicemen and tourist gave the view that America was a place where everyone had money to burn, didn’t understand the value of a dollar and were selfish, self-centered and often anything but polite. This attitude, I believe, is a basis for the jealousy toward us.

3. Politics. Or possible better stated as propaganda from their governments and ours. The particular group that I had much to do with in Vietnam was highly feared because of their willingness to do whatever it took to get the job done and their efficiency in doing that job. We endured the likes of Hanoi Jane publicly supporting our enemies and committing treasonous acts which not only endangered American servicemen but thousands of South Vietnamese citizens, and portrayed America as a weak-willed, divided country that could be defeated. Our military power is, unparalleled by any in the world but our politics, in many ways offsets that military might and makes us very vulnerable because of the internal division and games played with the lives and security of American people and the America we know and love. We have a President today, who has gone around the world apologizing for America. As a veteran, I believe he needs to apologize to America. Were it not for the willingness of the American people to make the sacrifices since the Revolutionary War, this world would have little freedom, if any, and most of the citizens would be living under tyrannical rule and in abject poverty fearful of every act, word and deed on a daily basis.

Therefore,, while I believe that America is the greatest country in the world and has been the beacon for freedom, we are not without our problems. We’ve become an entitlement nation and this has not been an accident but a planned process largely spearheaded by one political party. I fully realize that they have been little more than pawns in the hands of those who have the money and power who desire that the entire world be under “one rule” and that “rule” be “mammon” not God! Politicians would have us believe, that we have a broken Health Care System and Obamacare is the answer. If you want me to believe that, end all exemptions and have every government official and employee line up at the head of the line to sign up. Stop giving me inflated or deflated numbers regarding people or the cost and show me, in a tangible manner, how going this route will be better than those countries and states which have tried “government run health care” and failed. Likewise, some are suggesting that spending without concern of how or when we are going to pay it back is the answer. Continued increase in taxes ultimately results in lower productivity, places more people on welfare or entitlement rolls, and results in a crumbled economy. Government has been so inefficient in its management of those things it is now responsible for how can I believe running health care or creating jobs will be any different? This country’s foundation is its ingenuity, creativity and the willingness to take a risk hoping for a reward by the private sector of society. Most small businesses are afraid to take risks today and the mountain of paperwork and governmental regulations suggest that most will not survive the next decade or possibly the next election cycle. This will only exacerbate the problem and our great country will begin to appear more and more like the third-world countries this administration seems to want us to become.

So I say, stop playing political games with America! In all things demonstrate frugality and fiscal responsibility as we, responsible citizens, find necessary. Allow the creativity, ingenuity, adventurous spirit, independence and faith that made this country great to once again thrive! Don’t just read the Constitution in the opening session of Congress, study it, understand it, implement it, practice it and honor it. Elected officials call themselves “public servants”, so start serving the public rather than your own and special interest groups. Allow our technology the freedom to develop, harvest and produce the energy and other resources needed for independence from foreign governments. That dependence could result in the demise of this great country. Secure our borders, and secure our homeland rather than projecting an image that we are a “weak-willed” nation without the resolve or commitment to defend ourselves and bring to justice those who attack us. Make America what the vast majority of its citizen’s desire – “One Nation Under God, Indivisible, With Liberty And Justice For All.”

I am an American, a veteran, and a Christian and proud of each of those distinctions. My prayers for the leaders of this country are that they be given wisdom to lead, brought to an encounter with God, and find a willingness to follow His plan. I pray for this nation that we rise above the political games being played with our lives and hold EVERY elected official accountable. If they don’t respond help them become unemployed so they can find a different vocation. I pray for the Church that it be the Church that Jesus has and is building and be the influence upon this world that God intended! God Bless You and God Bless America!

1 Kings 18:21 – “Elijah came near to all the people and said, ” How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.”

We are on the eve of one of the most critical elections our country has known and still there are those who are “undecided”. I cannot imagine that because the choices, at least in my thinking, are clear-cut. The scripture passage I listed above says it better than I could ever hope to, and the choices are just that clear. We, as Americans, have the choice of Freedom and Liberty or Socialism and Governmental Control of virtually everything. Indecision or straddling the fence is not an option!

It is not quite as simple as I am going to state it, but almost. If you like what is going on with our country then vote for the liberal left-wing party the democrats, and if you don’t then either vote for the republican or for the conservative candidate on the ticket who exhibits moral fiber and backbone. If you are more interested in a handout than a hand up then vote for the democrats on the ticket but if you want to move away for a welfare state and out of the entitlement society then vote republican or for the conservative candidate on the ticket that exhibits moral fiber and backbone. If you like big government, that controls virtually every aspect of your life, then vote for the democrats. If you want healthcare run by the government, want to be taxed into oblivion, want to see industry and manufacturing jobs continue being lost to overseas markets then by all means vote for the democrats. If you want people like George Soros, the Tides Foundation, MoveOn.org, Media Matters, SEIU, the Old SDS, Acorn, the American Communist Party and organizations like the New Black Panthers make the policy for this country, please vote for the democrats. If you want to see amnesty for the millions of “illegal” aliens who are in this country then you have only one choice, the democrats. But, if you don’t want those things and you want to see our country restored, the runaway spending train halted or at least slowed down then DO NOT vote for the democrats!

Is it that simple, basically, YES! The Obama administration has charted its course from the playbook of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”. The President taught from this book as a “Community Organizer” in Chicago and follows the script as the President of these United States. He has gone all over the world apologizing for America and has stated that we are not a Christian nation. He has favored our enemies and alienated our friends as well as having a misguided view of what America needs or has a view of an America relegated to third-world status. Either way, he and his policies are not good for America and on November 2, 2010 we have opportunity to take a small step toward stopping this attack on the Constitution and the attempted destruction of Capitalism and the Free Market. Even the European nations are beginning to realize that the tax and spend your way out of recession philosophy does not work and are taking steps to change their course, but this President insists on staying with that destructive agenda. Europe is beginning to realize that if they do not take steps to protect their citizens and countries they will find themselves living under “Sharia Law” and Muslim domination, but this President does not seem to believe that is the right course to take and continues to side with the proponents of this “religion” which wants to exterminate anyone and everyone not agreeing with their tenets and religious practices.

We, in my opinion, are at a crossroad between choosing good and evil, right and wrong, freedom and tyranny. Do I think the republicans will do everything right, no I do not but I already know the democrats will do the wrong thing, so I choose to take the step of putting Congressional control back in the hands of the republicans. It is a first step in a multi-step process to regain America’s values and restore adherence to the Constitution and the Republic that the founding fathers envisioned when they established this country. We have much to do and must hold politicians accountable for their actions and remove from office those who repeatedly take the wrong course. We need to monitor their actions and/or inaction as well as their voting records. If they represent us then we can feel comfortable sending them back for another term, if not then we help them find a new line of work by refusing to reelect them.

If I surround myself with people who are at best Socialist, who do not believe in America, the Constitution, and the Free Market and want to spend our great-grandchildren into oblivion while taxing us beyond our ability to sustain, then I am something other than a believer in a democratic republic. If I surround myself with people who are racist, anti-colonialist and support population control by means of euthanasia then I am not an American patriot. If I surround myself with people who want a world government rather than the sovereignty of this nation then I am not a believer in a Constitutional America. Those are the people who this President has associated and surrounded himself with and yet he claims he is a Christian, a patriot, and a believer in the free market. My question would be how does he expect us to believe this? Actions speak louder than words and his actions suggest that he is anything but a believer in America and yet he is President of these United States. He promised “Hope and Change” and said that he would “fundamentally change America”. I guess most forgot to ask what “fundamental change” meant. Apparently it meant to take down the American way, as we have known if for over 200 years and transform it into a “State Capitalist” system or “Socialist” soft Tyranny at best and a total dictatorship at worst. We failed to find out that it apparently meant government control of everything and governmental bureaucracies deciding every detail of our lives.

There can be no indecision! To be indecisive about God is to reject Him. To be indecisive about our freedoms is to lose them. To be indecisive about our liberties is to give them up. To be indecisive about protecting the rights of the unborn is to sentence them to death. To not vote, is in some respects, worse than choosing the wrong side, because it shows an ambivalence that is inexcusable. If you believe that this is all God’s doing and His judgment on this nation, that’s fine, it may well be. But, if you sit and do nothing you deny any possibility of His hand of judgment being stayed as it was for Nineveh and other cities and Peoples in the Bible, when they repented and cried out to God in prayer for mercy. You adopt a fatalistic attitude that is certain doom for this great land and I am not willing to take that stance. I believe that the Bible teaches that, “He who knows to do good and does to him it is sin.” (James 4:17) Jesus also said, “I wish that you were cold or hot. So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.” (Revelation 3:15-16)

We have just a few days to decide, if we have not already! We have a few days to intercede concerning this election. We have just a few days to take a stand and lest we stand we shall surely fall. I would rather you be avidly for something than apathetically indecisive! Your vote matters and your involvement counts! This is your country as well as it is mine and it’s time we all rolled up our sleeves and got involved instead of allowing the politicians to make decisions for us that we may or may not agree with. I have decided to take a stand for representative government and will accept nothing less. I want to see God’s will done on Earth as it is in Heaven and know that my sitting idly by will not bring that about. Therefore, I choose to submit myself to His Lordship and commit to pray and follow the leading of my heart as a result of those prayers! I ask that you pray and become involved in our country and His Kingdom to whatever degree and at whatever level the Holy Spirit directs your heart.

This November’s election presents each of us with some distinct choices in matters that reach into the moral, spiritual, financial and ethical arenas. The majority of Americans are dissatisfied with what is going on in Washington, D.C., within their State and even on the local level. Most are tired of business as usual in the bureaucracy and self-serving governmental entities and politicians. The business of hiding special riders to bills of significant importance in order to fund some special project, enact some hidden law or regulation is something that should concern us all. The politicians, it seems, agree with many of the President’s advisers, including Cass Sunstein, that we (American citizens) have a little Homer Simpson in us and therefore are easily manipulated. In fact a look at the list of Czars appointed by this administration is revealing if not disturbing:

Richard Holbrooke – Afghanistan Czar: Ultra liberal anti-gun advocate, pro-abortion and for legalization of drug use.
Ed Montgomery – Auto Recovery Czar: Black radical anti-business activist, University of Maryland Business School Dean teaches U.S. business has caused world poverty and ACORN board member.
Jeffrey Crowley – AIDS Czar: Homosexual. Gay rights activist who believes in Gay marriage and special status for gays, including free health care for gays.
Alan Bersin – Border Czar: Ultra liberal friend of Hilary Clinton and served under Janet Reno – “to keep borders open to illegals.”
David J. Hayes – California Water Czar: Senior Fellow of radical environmentalist group, “Progress Policy”. No training or experience in water management.
Ron Bloom – Car Czar: Auto Union Worker. Anti-business & anti-nuclear. Sits on the board of Chrysler which is now Auto Union owned.
Dennis Ross – Central Region Czar: Believes U.S. policy has caused Middle East wars. Obama apologist to the world. Anti-gun and pro-abortion.
Lynn Rosenthal – Domestic Violence Czar: Director of the National Network to End Domestic Violence. Vicious anti-male feminist. Supports male castration.
Gil Kerlikowske – Drug Czar: Devoted lobbyist for every restrictive gun law proposal. Believes no American should own a firearm and supports legalization of drugs.
Carol Brower – Energy and Environment Czar: Political Radical Former head of EPA – known for anti-business activism. Strong anti-gun ownership. Socialist on Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for “global governance” and says rich countries, must shrink their economies to address climate change.
Joshua DuBois – Faith Based Czar: Political black activist – Degree in Black Nationalism and seeks a separate black nation. Anti-gun ownership lobbyist.
Cameron Davis – Great Lakes Czar: Chicago radical anti-business environmentalist. Accused George W. Bush of “Poisoning the water that minorities have to drink.”
Van Jones – Green Jobs Czar: (since resigned) Black activist and member of American Communist Party and San Francisco Communist Party who said that George Bush caused the 911 attack. Says whites are poisoning blacks.
Daniel Fried – Guantanamo Closure Czar: Rights Activist for Foreign Terrorist. Believes America has caused the war on terrorism.
Nancy–Ann DeParle – Health Czar: Former head of Medicare/Medicaid. Strong health care rationing proponent.
Vivek Kundra – Information Czar: Controls all public information, including labels and news releases. Monitors all private Internet emails.
Todd Stern – International Climate Czar: Anti-business. Strong support of Kyoto Accord and pushing hard for Cap & Trade. Blames U.S. business for global warming.
Dennis Blair – Intelligence Czar: Retired Navy. Stopped U.S. guided missile program as “provocative”. Chair of ultra-liberal “Council on Foreign Relations” which blames American organizations for regional wars.
George Mitchell – Mideast Peace Czar: Left wing radical who has said Israel should be split into 2 or 3 medium more manageable plots. Anti-nuclear, anti-gun and pro-homosexual rights.
Kenneth Feinberg – Pay Czar: Chief of Staff to Ted Kennedy. Lawyer who got rich off the 911 victims payoffs.
Cass Sunstein – Regulatory Czar: Liberal activist judge believes free speech needs to be limited for the “common good”. Rules against personal freedoms many times in cases such as “private gun ownership.” Says animals should be able to sue people and Anti-hunting.
John Holdren – Science Czar: Fierce ideological environmentalist, Sierra Club, Anti-business activist. Claims U.S. business has caused world poverty. Believes it is okay to abort a child until age two. Thinks trees should be able to sue humans.
Earl Devaney – Stimulus Accountability Czar: Spent career trying to take guns away from American citizens. Believes in open borders to Mexico. Author of statement blaming U.S. gun stores for drug war in Mexico.
J. Scott Gration – Sudan Czar: Native Democratic Republic of Congo. Believes U.S. does little to help Third World countries. Seeks higher U.S. taxes to support the United Nations.
Herb Allizon – TARP Czar: Fannie Mae CEO responsible for the U.S. recession by using real estate mortgages to back up the U.S. stock market. Caused millions of people to lose their life savings.
John Brennan – Terrorism Czar: Anti CIA Activist. Believes in open borders to Mexico and a dialog with terrorist and has suggested that Obama disband the U.S. Military.
Aneesh Chopra – Technology Czar: No technology training. Worked for advisory board company, a health care think tank for hospitals. Anti-doctor activist. Supports Obama Health care Rationing and salaried doctors working exclusively for the Government Health Care Plan.
Adolfo Carrion, Jr. – Urban Affairs Czar: Anti American activist and leftist group member in Latin America. Millionaire “slum lord” of the Bronx, NY. Wants higher taxes to pay for minority housing and health care.
Ashton Carter – Weapons Czar: Leftist who wants all private weapons in U.S. destroyed and supports a UN ban on firearms ownership in America.
Gary Samore – WMD Policy Czar: Former U.S. Communist. Wants U.S. to destroy all WMDs unilaterally as a show of good faith.
Kevin Jennings – Safe School Czar: As a teacher when a 15 year old said he was having sex with an older man, instead of reporting it, asked how it was going and suggested that they use condoms. Supporter of NAMBLA – (North American Man Boy Love Association).

Why do I list all these? Simply for you to notice the common thread in the Czars appointed by this administration and supported by the liberal left. Many of these things cut across clear Biblical teachings and violate good morals, inhibit our financial, personal and religious freedoms and seek to relegate this country to a THIRD WORLD NATION status. I know that I have friends who feel that I should not use Face Book or my blog for political purposes but how can I not cry out from the rooftop when our country is being destroyed and the minds of our youth corrupted or potentially corrupted with these ideologies that are contrary to biblical truths?

We can arbitrarily say, “Vote them all out” and there may be a time for that but to do a wholesale flip of Congress would only give us more of the same. What we need is to find those candidates whom we believe, through research, examination, prayer and evaluation most closely align themselves with our values and those we believe the Bible teaches and whom we believe will have the courage to stand for those principles and vote for them. It’s not party that I’m preaching its values!

We should make our primary focus, “Seeking first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.” We should pray for those that have the rule over us. Pray that they come to the light and either accept or reject God’s plan and if they reject His plan and person then they be exposed before the world for who they are. We do not pray for the success of policies that are destructive to God’s principles, moral values and a Free America. A candidate that is pro-abortion, I personally cannot support. Nor can I support a candidate that believes as Cass Sunstein regarding taxes where he has said, “In what sense is the money in our pockets and bank accounts fully ‘ours’? Did we earn it by our own autonomous efforts? Could we have inherited it without the assistance of probate courts? Do we save it without the support of bank regulators? Could we spend it if there were no public officials to coordinate the efforts and pool the resources of the community in which we live?… Without taxes there would be no liberty. Without taxes there would be no property. Without taxes, few of us would have any assets worth defending. [It is] a dim fiction that some people enjoy and exercise their rights without placing any burden whatsoever on the public fisc. … There is no liberty without dependency. That is why we should celebrate tax day …” — Cass R. Sunstein, “Why We Should Celebrate Paying Taxes,” The Chicago Tribune, April 14, 1999

I find this mentality and philosophy disturbing on many fronts and believe it to be my right as an American citizen to voice my displeasure with this type of philosophy and to cast my ballot in opposition as well as cast my ballot in support of those candidates who support the values that, to me are the foundational framework of our nation and the Bible.

I urge you to pray earnestly about the upcoming election, study to know the issues and the stances of the candidates and by all means VOTE! This election November 2, 2010 is a pivotal point in the destiny of America and if we fail to stay energized and engaged we will pay dearly in the coming years and possibly if not probably find ourselves beyond the point of no return in reclaiming our freedoms and those of future generations should the Lord tarry His coming. This is not a onetime involvement; it is a lifetime engagement that we must place ourselves in. I do believe that God will direct our paths and heal our land if we will humble ourselves, repent and diligently intercede before Him.

Please vote on or before November 2, 2010 it is your right and I believe your duty!

There are so many simple yet profound statements by our founding fathers that espouse their view of what this Republic, was designed to be, one cannot misinterpret their intent. They gave us a form of government which was dependent upon both responsibility and accountability. They put in our hands via the Constitution, Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights the means whereby we could hold the government accountable for their actions. They established separation of powers and initiated a system of checks and balances designed to keep America a Free Republic governed by its people rather than a group of “elitist” who were more interested in their power and greed than preserving the Republic and working for the good of the people.

Thomas Jefferson said, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, it expects what never was and never can be.” Sadly, we, the American people have for too long failed to uphold our end of the bargain and process. We have allowed elected and appointed officials to subvert the Constitution, over regulate the private sector, move into areas of our lives and diminish our liberties and exert their will rather than that of “we the people of these United States.” They no longer feel nor have they been accountable because we have not held them accountable.

It is a shame that the vast majority of Americans do not realize that this is not a democracy but a republic and most do not know the difference. Our rights as American citizens are firmly grounded in the Declaration of Independence where it states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men…are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights… That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted…” The founders believed that our rights came from a supreme Creator, namely God, and that they are inalienable, and that the purpose of government is to secure these God-given rights.

The founders wanted the government not the people, to be limited! As Micah Burnett so eloquently stated, “…the Constitution does not grant rights to its citizens, rather the citizens grant certain, specific, or “enumerated” rights to the federal government.” Therefore, we understand that the Bill of Rights places further limitations on government not the people and to insure the understanding of that they added the 9th and 10th amendments.

Congress has ALL LEGISLATIVE POWER, which means that ZERO legislative power is in the hands of the Executive or Judicial Branches. The idea of executive orders and finding judicial precedent are completely foreign to the Constitution. Yet, they are the norm today! How did we allow this to transpire? We have neutered state Governments in complete violation of the 10th amendment of the Constitution. It specifically states, “powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” In other words, Feds, there are areas you need to keep your nose out of, the local and State governments will handle it. Thank you very much!

But as to Republics and Democracies, the government as designed by the founders of these United States of America is that of a Republic not a Democracy. In a democracy, the majority can obliterate the rights of any minority. A true democracy would by nature be anti-religious because it suggests that right or wrong can be determined by the will of the majority rather than by moral law. Every democracy begins as a free society and concludes in anarchy where the mob rules, class struggles grow and facilitates an oligarchy ruled by elitist demagogues.

A Republic on the other hand has a framework that is just and cannot be violated especially by government. Our Constitutional Republic , is founded upon the principle that it will NEVER CHANGE! Thomas Jefferson spoke to this saying, “In questions of power, let no more be said of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution.” That belief and restriction is one of the very reasons that people like this President despise the Constitution. It is restrictive to their designs and desires. So, we have either a democracy that , is ruled by an oligarchy or a republic which, is ruled by law. These United States of America are a Republic and we must fight to keep it that way!

It is my belief that we have allowed this condition to arise due to several things:

1. The organized church and its leadership has failed to stay true to the mission and message of Christ. Too frequently, we have desired to become acceptable to the masses rather than bring the masses to Christ. We have equated popularity with progress and failed to maintain the purity and principles taught by our Lord as foundational principles of life. (Please know that I am not opposed to the organized church, rather I am pro-Christ and His principles).
2. We allowed our personal prosperity to lull us into a state in which our comfort caused or allowed us to become ambivalent to what was taking place. We traded some liberties for comfort and did so to our own peril. As long as we were doing okay we turned our heads as to what was happening thinking that surely no one would want to destroy this great land. We mistakenly thought that our prosperity would last forever and that all things would stay the same and we would remain free. While we were in a state of apathy there were devious and diabolical persons at work developing not only a strategy but an infrastructure to take down the Republic whose economic system is based on capitalism and replace it with a Socialist / Marxist ideology.
3. Those in power have deliberately been engaged in a century long dumbing down of our educational system with the primary desire to enslave the populace who would become ignorant and uninformed as to what was happening and being planned. As Cass Sunstein, one of Obama’s key advisors who holds the office of Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs and calls himself a “choice architect” said, “Once we know that people are human and have some Homer Simpson in them, then there is a lot that can be done to MANIPULATE THEM.” He has also said that he wants the government to “cognitively infiltrate” anti government groups or more accurately anti-Obama groups.

What is at stake in these upcoming elections? At the risk of being labeled a kook and conspiracy theorist let me enumerate a few items:

1. Saving America from becoming a Socialist/Marxist country.
2. Preserving our Freedoms including, free speech, and right to bear arms, right to make our own choices about our individual lives, religious freedoms and the right to duly elect our representatives to go to Washington to represent us.
3. Keeping America from becoming completely bankrupt.
4. Prevent our Health Care System, the greatest in the world, from being totally destroyed.
5. Stop the government takeover of private industry.

We have some serious choices to make this November and again in 2012. If we are willing to see this country taken down the road of destruction via the policies being enacted into law today along with the unsustainable spending that is taking place, then vote for the liberal candidates who support this President. If, however, you want to see America restored and want to see change that is healthy for America and its citizens, then find those conservative candidates who most closely align themselves with your political views and beliefs and vote for them. We need to send a clear message to Washington, D.C. – BOTH PARTIES, that WE WILL BE HEARD and if they fail to represent us, we will hold them accountable and allow them to find another line of work.

I pray daily for those in leadership. I pray that they will come to the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and turn to Him and follow His principles. I do not pray for the success of any policy that I believe , to be destructive to this country and its citizenry. I pray for the failure of those policies. My prayers are for God to cause each of those serving in any governmental capacity to come to a point of decision regarding Him and His desires and principles. If they reject Him, then I pray that God will bring their rejection to light and expose their anti-God and anti-America plans so clearly that the voting public, will be so repulsed that we choose to allow the politicians time to pursue other endeavors other than public office.

This is my rant. Thank you for taking the time to read it. If you agree with any or all of it please feel free to share it. If you disagree then feel free to delete and reject it. This is still a Free Country where we can believe what we choose! I defend your right to do so.

President Obama and the Left like to blame everything on former President Bush, especially the economy and the deficit. Is that a valid criticism? Let’s check a few facts and some time lines and see if it will hold water.

Although I will acknowledge that the former President made some decisions that were not good on numerous fronts, this criticism seems to falter under examination regarding the deficit and economy. At the end of his Presidency Mr. Bush received and believed some very bad advice regarding the bailouts. While that is regrettable, it’s history and he did it with the support of Mr. Obama and his fellow members of Congress. So Mr. Obama is complicit in this and can’t just lay it all at the feet of Mr. Bush.

While President Bush is accused of wanting to deregulate everything in the financial industry we find that in 2003 his administration proposed to alter regulations on GSEs like Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac to head off the coming disaster, Mr. Barney Frank had this take on the problem or lack thereof in his eyes:

“I want to begin by saying that I am glad to consider the legislation, but I do not think we are facing any kind of a crisis. That is, in my view, the two government sponsored enterprises we are talking about here, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, are not in a crisis. We have recently had an accounting problem with Freddie Mac that has led to people being dismissed, as appears to be appropriate. I do not think at this point there is a problem with a threat to the Treasury.

Wow Barney, there is no problem and no guarantees. The government has done too little to push this housing situation so that people could buy houses they could not afford, no questions asked and you’ve made deals with these institutions and even if there was a problem THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT WILL NOT BAIL THEM OUT! Wait, you were one of the chief proponents for doing that very thing. You helped create the mess and now you are in charge of fixing it. That sounds like giving the fox the keys to the hen house and telling him to watch the chickens.

But let’s go further in 2007 the Democrats took control of Congress. While the President submits his proposed Budget, the U.S. Congress then goes through it to recommend the funding levels for the next fiscal year. Then budget committees set spending limits for the House & Senate committees and for Appropriations subcommittees, which then approve individual appropriations bills to allocate funding to various federal programs. After that is done CONGRESS approves an appropriations bill and sends it to the President for signature or veto. So blame it on Bush doesn’t hold water here either. The Democrats controlled this budgetary process in 2008, 2009, 2010 and for fiscal year 2011.

In fact in 2009 – Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush and passed resolutions to keep government running & spending until Obama could take office. They passed a massive omnibus spending bill. Where was Obama? He was a member of the very Congress that passed all these massive spending bills. So who’s deficit is it that he inherited? Not Bush’s! It belongs to him and the rest of his liberal Democrat friends.

Yet he continually wants us to believe that everything that has taken place and is taking place and will ever take place that is bad is George W. Bush’s fault. It is time to CLEAN HOUSE in Washington in November and finish the job in 2012. Don’t be surprised if you find that this administration uses tax payer dollars to fund the Mosque near Ground Zero.

I’ve said it before and use the Bible again to state what MUST TAKE PLACE:

2 Chronicles 7:14 – “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” NKJV

For America to survive as a Free Nation, a Republic with liberty and justice for all this is the place to begin. We must also put legs on our prayers and as Jesus said concerning His work in John 9, we must work while it is day, night is coming when no man can work. We have come to a time when as Jesus said in the Gospel of Luke, men’s hearts will fail them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth.

Opposing this administration does not make me a racist. I do not care about the race of the President or any member of Congress, I do care about their policies and politics. Opposing this administration’s policies does not make me a right wing extremist (terrorist) as the left seems to want to paint those like me. I love America and do not want to see her destroyed. I want to walk in the fear of God, protected legally by a Constitution that was designed to keep the government from becoming a Tyranny. I want to continue the freedoms that we have enjoyed for over 200 years and am not willing to go down without speaking out and doing what I can through legal peaceful means to prevent America’s demise.

Therefore, I encourage you to keep the flames of Liberty burning. Keep your hearts turned toward God and do everything you can to preserve this Nation. It is true that we, who have been born again through the blood of Jesus Christ, are just passing through. One day we will leave this world for good but while we are here, as citizens of the United States of America, I believe it is our civic, moral and spiritual duty to defend her against all enemies both foreign and domestic!

Computers are a part of the daily lives of most people.  The vast majority of us know little about what makes them work or even how to repair issues we have with hardware or software.  We just use them! If I’ve heard the phrase “Garbage in, Garbage out…” once I’ve heard it ten thousand times.  What I get out of my computer is directly related to what I put into it.  It’s like life, what we get out of it is directly related to what we put in. The same is true with automobiles and even politics.

For example, if I maintain a steady diet of fast foods full of sugar and starches then I will likely be (I am) overweight, have an increased risk of diabetes, hypertension, myocardial infarction and stroke.  My digestive system will likely not function properly and my physical stamina will diminish.  Garbage in, Garbage out! However, if I put unprocessed fruits, vegetables, fish and poultry in, as well as maintain a proper and balanced exercise program,  I get the reverse of the fast food diet.  So the converse is applicable, “Healthy in, Healthy out”.

If I put gasoline in my vehicle that has been polluted with water it will not run well.  If I fail to change the oil on a regular basis and fail to do proper maintenance it will break down and become nonfunctional.  Garbage in, Garbage out.  But, with proper maintenance most vehicles will last a very long time and perform properly.

If I expose my computer to websites that are high risk for viruses, malware, phishing attacks, spyware, etc. even with a firewall and virus protection software I am putting my computer at risk. That’s not to say you cannot be attacked if you don’t do those things but you reduce your risk.  No matter what program I use if I feed it wrong or flawed information it will be “Garbage in, Garbage out.”

Our spiritual lives are no different.  If we feed our minds with things of this world our thoughts will be worldly.  Things of the flesh produce fleshly thoughts, habits and actions.  Garbage in, Garbage out. Matthew 6:33 tells us – “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”   Matthew 6:24-25 advises, “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.   ²⁵“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? ”  The position of God in our lives is the determining factor in the condition of our lives.   Now, I did not say you would not have problems and disappointments but you will have the spiritual strength and stamina to withstand the things that come your way through His grace, love and power.

Likewise the idea of “Garbage in, Garbage out” relates to the condition of our Government. If we put people in office who disregard the Constitution, the rule of law, the will of the people and the overall needs of this great nation we will have Laws, Rules, Regulations, Edicts and Actions that will place Freedom and Liberty in jeopardy. If we are to live as a FREE PEOPLE we must have representation in Washington as well as the state and local levels who are responsive to the governed.

Thomas Jefferson said, “Does government fear us? Or do we fear the government?  When the people fear the government TYRANNY has found victory.  The federal government is our servant, not our master.” He also said, “When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or evil.”

James Madison said, “The house of representatives…can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as the great mass of society. This has always been deemed one of the strongest bonds by which human policy can connect the rulers and the people together. It creates between them that communion of interest, and sympathy of sentiments, of which few governments have furnished examples; but without which every government degenerates into tyranny.”

Thomas Paine said, “Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”

Benjamin Franklin on elected members of congress, “They are of the People, and return again to mix with the People, having no more durable preeminence than the different Grains of Sand in an Hourglass. Such an Assembly cannot easily become dangerous to Liberty. They are the Servants of the People, sent together to do the People’s Business, and promote the public Welfare; their Powers must be sufficient, or their Duties cannot be performed. They have no profitable Appointments, but a mere Payment of daily Wages, such as are scarcely equivalent to their Expenses; so that, having no Chance for great Places, and enormous Salaries or Pensions, as in some Countries, there is no triguing or bribing for Elections.”

George Washington advised, “The basis of our political systems is the right of the people to make and to alter their Constitutions of Government. But the Constitution which at any time exists, ’till changed by an explicit and authentic act of the whole People is sacredly obligatory upon all.” He also said, “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained.”

These men and the remaining founders understood that our newly formed Republic was to be a government of WE THE PEOPLE… They gave us a Constitution, ratified by the states under which THE PEOPLE were to be the ultimate deciding factor not a Tyrant, King, President, Congress, the Courts or a Political Party. However, today we have representatives in the House and Senate who seek their own goals, ideals and ambitions over the people.  They show more allegiance to a political party or special interest group than the people as a whole.  The same is true of the office of the President.  WE THE PEOPLE have allowed them to remain in office without being accountable for their actions and thus created the situation in which we find ourselves today where we are in grave danger of losing our Republic.  We have let it be “Garbage in, Garbage out” for too long!  It is time politically, we insist that those elected to represent us be accountable to us. We are accountable to God for our actions so should they be to those who placed them in office.

I find it no longer acceptable to have “Garbage in, Garbage out” in my personal  life.  It is my goal personally, to change that in every area that I am able.  I am an American citizen, born here and proud of my country!  I do not desire to lose my liberty nor my ability to worship as I choose, live where I desire, pursue any legitimate vocation that I desire and do that without fear of governmental intervention. So, personally, spiritually and politically I will no longer accept “Garbage in, Garbage out”. I demand more of myself and will henceforth demand more from my elected officials.  I would urge you to consider this and decide for yourself what you desire and what you are willing to tolerate!  We can continue to have “Garbage in, Garbage out” or we can CHANGE! With God’s help we can see that effected in our lives physically, relationally, spiritually and in our country politically!  To God be the glory!

A number of questions arise:
1.  What do you consider fairly earned success?
2.  When did it become the President’s job to determine how much is enough money made in a free enterprise system?
3. So part of the American way is you can keep on making money if you are providing a good product or service but you just said there is a point when you’ve made enough!  (A bit contradictory isn’t it?)
4. Once a person or company has made enough money and they keep on making it – – where do you think the overage should go Sir?

If I have a good product or provide a good service that is in demand and people are willing to purchase or use it and I make a profit on it that profit belongs to me or me and my shareholders and it’s none of anybody’s business how much I make or for that matter what I do with it.  That’s what Free Enterprise is all about.  The only countries that want to control what an individual or company can make or earn fall into the Socialist, Communist type countries.  The last time I checked this country was not set up as that type of country and is not that YET, so Mr. President and Congress – – BACK OFF and let supply and demand work.  Allow people to engage in risk and reward and if they are successful it’s good for the economy and the country.  The statement listed above is as bad as his attempt to push support for the government to run the health care system by saying:

“UPS and FedEx are doing just fine, right? It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.” –attempting to make the case for government-run healthcare, while simultaneously undercutting his own argument, Portsmouth, N.H., Aug. 11, 2009

Let me see – UPS and FedEx are privately owned companies not government run companies.  They are doing well but the government program is in trouble.  Does that suggest anything? I would want the government to run health care because?????  We do not need any more $400.00 hammers or $50.00 washers or bailouts or government takeovers.  We do not need to become a Welfare Nation. We need to let the entrepreneurial spirit and ingenuity of Americans dig us out of this mess without the government messing it up further.

Less government not more government is what we need.  Here’s an idea – – How about you in Washington living within your means like most of the rest of us have to do.  If my outgo exceeds my income on a continuing basis it will not be long before I’m bankrupt and on the street.  STOP THE WASTE!

Sir I am praying for you…. Not that your radical agenda succeeds but that you find direction from God and take the right path not the road to destruction.  I pray for your soul not your politics or policies.  I pray for America that she be able to survive and remain or renew her position as a beacon of hope for the world and a launching pad for spreading the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.

I personally do not want one nickel that someone else earned and do not want anyone or any government to force me to share what I’ve earned with anyone else.  I want it to be my choice, through the Holy Spirit’s direction that I share my blessings with others, which I do.  If you have an idea and develop it and make boat loads of money from it I applaud you it’s yours.  If you are an athlete and get a contract for what is almost an obscene amount of money to play your sport that’s between you and the owners of the team.  If I as a fan don’t like it I can stop supporting your sport but more power to you if you can get paid that much to do what you do.

I JUST WANT A FREE AMERICA TO REMAIN FREE!!!!

I was raised on a farm in Rural East Texas.  We didn’t have a lot and grew most of the vegetables we ate and either via fishing, hunting, raising a steer or a hog for butchering  we provided most of the meat we ate.  My parents worked hard and never complained about working hard.  My grandparents were the same and were major influences in my life and my overall philosophy of life.  Honor was important to them and it is to me.  I don’t mean some Southern Mythological meaning of the word Honor I mean things like – A man’s word is his bond.  Doing what you say you will do.  Honoring your parents as well as the property and dignity of others.  Respecting your elders and giving a full day’s work for a full day’s pay.

On our farm we raised purple hull peas and sold them to whomever wanted them.  Dad would offer them to friends, neighbors and anyone on the basis of a set price if they picked the peas and a little higher price if we picked them.  The price difference was generally so minimal that almost everyone said they wanted us to pick the peas which often was my job.  I would go out and pick a bushel of peas and come in only to be sent back to the field to pick at least another half bushel because my dad gave “Good measure, pressed down and shaken together.” I don’t ever remember him selling a bushel of peas as just a bushel.  It would be at least a bushel and a half for the price of a bushel.  To him it was a matter of honor, treating other people the way he would have wanted to be treated and making sure no one could ever say he short-changed them in anything.

As a teenager I was somewhat rebellious and on one occasion while working for an uncle in the plum and peach orchards near Grapeland I got mad and decided I wasn’t going to work anymore that day.  I went and laid down under the shade of a Peach tree and spent the rest of the afternoon doing nothing.  My dad found out about it that night and told me to go back the next day and talk to the man that owned the orchard not my uncle.  I was to apologize and ask to be taken back but if the man did not take me back I was to refuse to accept pay for the week.  That was on Friday and I had worked all week. To him it was a matter of honor.  I never pulled that little stunt again.  The man took me back only because my uncle asked him to.  I learned honor from my parents and tried to teach it to my children. They have turned out to be fine young men and I hope that at least at little of what I attempted to teach them has been influential in their lives.

I went to Vietnam as a church going sinner. I grew up in church and in that old country church the men sat in the front on the right, the women in the front on the left and the teenagers sat in the back behind the men.  Most of the men slept through the sermons, most of the women watched us teenagers and most of us laughed and cut up through the sermons.  I don’t know how the preacher stood it!  I watched church fights and saw some of the people especially the men in places they should not have been doing things they should not have been doing.  I was there along with my friends and formed an idea (completely erroneous) that if these people were going to heaven God could not send me to hell.  Thank God I didn’t die in Vietnam! It was a year after I came home that I accepted Christ and realized the gross error of my thinking.  I realized that I could not compare myself with anyone nor should anyone compare themselves with me.  I was the sole person responsible for my actions and not my environment, social status, economic status, educational status or breaks or lack thereof were responsible.  It was me and me alone that would stand before God and give account.

Today, we have politicians who do not give a second thought to the perpetration of a lie, misrepresentation, use of deception or any other tactics to get what they want.  People in business too frequently do the same.  I even had a person tell me one time that they had a church life and a business life.  My response was, “You are not a cat you don’t have nine lives.  You have a life and your business, church, social, etc. lives all make up who you are.  You are not several separate entities you are YOU!” You can’t be dishonest in business and then go to church get your religious fix and go back into the world for the next week and be something else.  No, honor is 24/7/365 and 366 on leap year.

How would you feel about God if you got to the end and He said, “I know I told you that you’d have eternal life and even though you accepted Christ I’ve decided not to take you into heaven.” You certainly would not consider Him honorable.  How would you feel about a business partner, associate or vendor that promised to do a job for a certain price, in a certain time frame but did not do it?  You would not consider them honorable would you?  Likewise a politician that promises something on the campaign trail and then fails to deliver, doesn’t try to deliver or worse yet goes completely in another direction do you consider that honorable?  I don’t think so!

Honor is not something that you are born with it is something you learn and decide to make a pillar in your life.  It is something that you do because it is something you are. It is something you exhibit even when you don’t feel like it, don’t want to do it and could easily not do it and suffer no visible detriment.  It is doing the right thing when no one sees as well as when everyone sees.  Honor is not an action it is a state of heart and a character quality that is learned and developed. If children do not see honor in their parents where will they see and learn it?  If non-believers do not see honor in us who will bring the good news to them?  I was told one time and have never forgotten, “You are the only Bible some people will ever read.  What is the gospel according to you?” Let that sink in for a second.

I prayed for patience once and never had so many problems in all my life.  When I complained about it I heard in my heart, “Well you asked for patience and I’m trying to help you learn and develop it.” Since then I’ve been cautious about asking for certain things.  But I do pray the prayer with David in Psalms:

Psalms 51:6-13 – – “Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom. 7 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;  Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness, Let the bones which You have broken rejoice. 9 Hide Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart , O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me away from Your presence  And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit. 13 Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners will be converted to You.” NASU

The rest of the Chapter should be quoted too but for my point simply our desire should be to have a clean heart and clean hands before God.  That would be to walk and live in Honor! When I pray for our leaders that’s how I pray that God will bring to bear on them and cause them to see His way and bring them into the light.  If they are practicing deception to bring that to the light.  Bring them to Honor! What would our great nation be if our politicians were HONORABLE MEN AND WOMEN? What would our churches be if all our ministers walked as HONORABLE MEN AND WOMEN? What would our economy be like if every business man and woman conducted all business HONORABLY? What would our families be like if WE walked as MEN AND WOMEN OF HONOR? I’m not saying you don’t I’m just saying what would it be like if we all did all the time?  The world would never have seen the revival that would take place.  There would be an immediate cessation of the murder of innocent babies.  There would be a marked decline in the divorce rate.  Crime would decrease dramatically and politicians would operate with the genuine interest of the people.  Yes it would be somewhat Utopian and no I don’t expect to see every human practice this but if I can encourage myself and even one other person to live this way I fully believe that I will have impacted lives that will in turn impact multitudes.

Again, I ask WHAT HAPPENED TO HONOR?

Our Founding Fathers waged the Revolutionary War to gain freedom for all citizens of the newly formed country The United States of America.  They wrote the Constitution and Declaration of Independence so carefully as to provide for and preserve that freedom with the safeguards, checks and balances of the branches of government.  Yet our founding fathers feared that the day would come when those documents would be disregarded, the courts would become corrupted and the congress would become non-representative.  They feared a day when “We the People….” would no longer be the decision makers but a non-representative congress, a tyrannical executive office and a manipulated and puppet Supreme Court would exist thus destroying our nation and dissolving our freedom.

Slowly over the past century there has been a bit by bit erosion of our individual freedoms, a centralization of control by the elected and appointed members of the three branches of government.  We have seen implementation of programs which were to be temporary due to a time of crisis that have remained permanent.  We have seen development of an entity of the government that makes the Gestapo of Nazi Germany look tame (I.R.S.) and we are seeing an administration use that entity to ensure that their agenda is carried out without intervention from any court.  We are seeing the Environmental Protection Agency being used to force compliance with programs and plans without any congressional approval or vote by the people.  Little by little we are seeing our freedoms eroded and taken away.  We are like the proverbial frog that is put into a pan of water and the heat slowly turned up until the frog is boiled to death before it realizes that there is danger.

From the standpoint of being a U.S. citizen, natural born or through the proper immigration channels and legally here we have a right to the freedoms and rights guaranteed by our Constitution.  If you are here illegally you do not and should not have those rights you are a criminal. You have broken the law.  If you are engaged in any terrorist plot against this country or the citizens of this country you should not be given Miranda rights you are or plan to become a war criminal and thereby a murder, and should not be afforded these rights.  Only citizens naturally born or here legally should be afforded the rights and privileges of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Are we free? Our money is being confiscated to support abortion, illegal aliens, defense of terrorists in the courts, habitual welfare recipients and extravagance by those in Washington including flying in chefs to cook special meals at the White House just because you can.  Are we free? Even though the majority of the American people did not want the health care bill the President, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid pushed through Congress we have it as a signed law and the payment begins now but the enactment does not take place until after the 2012 election.  These are only a few of the multitude of happenings over the past 50 years that have been the slow heating of the pot and we sat idly by for far too long and are in danger of being boiled to death like the proverbial frog.

I don’t know what the full agenda of this President is? But I do recognize that it is a non-American agenda that does not focus on the American citizens but on World citizens.  It is an agenda that appears to want to dissolve all borders of all countries of the world and have a singular figure as world leader.  Both Republicans and Democrat leaders for decades have been members of the Trilateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations and the Bilderberg Group.  Virtually all of this Administration’s appointees are a member or one or more of those groups as have been previous Presidents, etc.  The World Banking system has always been on both sides of any conflict lending and thereby gaining power no matter the outcome of the conflict.

Are we free? Technically as Americans, right now we are still free people but in reality we are far from free people.  Our true freedom comes only in Christ as citizens of Heaven.  At the pace and in the direction America is heading she will fall and cease to be a World Power.  Democracy will be lost and Tyranny will replace it with the government controlling our lives in every facet.  I do not desire to be a gloom and doom prophet but the World Order is out of the Bible not my imagination.  Can we stave off this onslaught against our liberties and prevent, at least temporarily this take over?  Absolutely but only through the following:

• Make God the center of our universe, lives and hearts.
• Pray as if there were no tomorrow
• Become involved within the community, local principality in which we live, Statewide and nationally.   (Some of us may have to bite the bullet and actually run for office).
• Write letters, make phone calls.  (Be civil, sane and sensible but be steadfast, firm and committed to the cause of freedom and right).
• Go to the polls no matter what the election and vote for the candidate that holds the views most closely associated with your values and those of the Bible.
• Invest your time and your money to promote what is right.

Notice I didn’t mention political party or right-wing or left-wing I mentioned right! I am a conservative politically.  I base my views on the Bible, the Constitution and what is morally right.  You can run as a Blue Bell Ice Cream Candidate and if you are the one that holds the views that most nearly align with what I believe to be right I’ll vote for you.  I agree with Ronald Regan that a third party would most likely ensure the liberals a free run at control again so I’m investing my time in trying to ensure we take back the Republican Party and make it conservative and revitalize the values of biblical principles again.  That may not work and a third party may become necessary and if so I will embrace it and work to see it succeed.  But most of all I want to live as a free man in a free society in the Greatest Country in the World as I walk a free man as a child of the Only True God!

Freedom is not free! It never has been and never will be!  There is a price that has been paid and a price to be paid to obtain and maintain freedom.  I stand before God and you and confess that I have been complacent for too long and therefore share the blame for what is happening in our country today!  I have repented of that sin and having turned 180 degrees I walk a new path, a path of involvement to secure and maintain a Free America under God with Liberty and Justice for All.
