I will once again declare that I am a Christian, a Vietnam Veteran, a patriot, a lover of America and freedom. I see the problems of the world and realize that based on what I believe God has called me to do and be – “A Watchman on the Walls,” I cannot ignore the issues at hand. However, I believe that the problems in America and the World have only one hope – GOD! I believe that if believers will follow the prescription of 2 Chronicles 7:14, we can see a respite and enjoy a window of opportunity to reap the harvest and restore freedom for multitudes.
As I reflect on the sitting president and his administration and compare it to history, I conclude that Joe Biden’s administration has created a condition conducive for World Conflict of epic proportions. It is through weakness and appeasement that conflict is inspired.
Our First President, George Washington, understood the importance of strong leadership and strength. In his fifth annual message to Congress in the 1793 State of the Union, he declared his view. “There is a rank due to the United States among nations which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be known that we are at all times ready for war.”
In Federalist No.24, Alexander Hamilton argued for peace through strength by stating that strong garrisons in the west and a Navy in the east would protect the Union from the threats of Britain and Spain. Ronald Reagan, in 1980, used the phrase during his election challenge against Jimmy Carter by accusing the incumbent of weak, vacillating leadership that invited attack on the United States and its allies.
Reagan expounded that view in 1986. He said, “We know that peace is the condition under which mankind was meant to flourish. Yet peace does not exist of its own will. It depends on us, on our courage, to build it and guard it, and pass it on to future generations. George Washington’s words may seem hard and cold today, but history has proven him right again and again. “To be prepared for war,” he said, “is one of the most effective means of preserving peace.” Well, to those who think strength provokes conflict, Will Rogers had his own answer. He said of the world heavyweight champion of his day: “I’ve never seen anyone insult Jack Dempsey.”
When a president or any elected official exhibits weakness, vacillation, and ineptitude and seeks appeasement as the mainstay of their agenda, conflict is inevitable, and war is invited. I draw from the annals of history, “You have sat too long here for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go.” That originated with Oliver Cromwell in 1653 but was resurrected in 1940 in the debate in parliament over the policies of Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain. He negotiated with Hitler and declared “peace in our time.” We know that was a farce. Weakness emboldened Hitler as it has throughout time.
The failures of President Biden are too numerous to list, but to offer a few and connect the dots on how they embolden those who desire our destruction aggrandizement and world dominance to engage in conflict. When I call the Biden leadership feckless, I am being charitable.
Can we forget the utter disaster of the Afghanistan withdrawal that left enormous caches of weapons for the Taliban and other terrorist groups to obtain? It is reported that Hamas is using some of those weapons in their assault against Israel. Foreign leaders may not have liked Donald Trump but respected him and feared America. They neither fear America nor respect Biden and feel they can do what they do without concern about American intervention or response.
Donald Trump, we were told, would plunge us into World War III. Still, when he did things like taking out Qasem Soleimani, the Iranian top general in Baghdad, there was no invasion of Ukraine and no Hamas attack on Israel. Instead, President Trump negotiated the Abraham Accord, which produced bilateral agreements normalizing Arab-Israeli relations in Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan, and UAE. Strength produced peace.
In 1981, during Regan’s presidency, the air traffic controllers threatened to go on strike. A federal employee is not allowed to strike. Reagan warned that he would fire them on the spot if they did. Nobody believed him, so they went on strike, and he kept his promise. At that time, the USSR was watching and realized that Reagan meant what he said and did not offer idle threats. There was peace through strength.
Today, under Joe Biden, we have the war in Ukraine and Israel. Why? Because those who seek to dominate have zero fear of Biden, they know he is weak and is a modern reincarnation of Neville Chamberlain, only with deep-seated and long-standing corruption on his resume.
Joe Biden said, “Peace in our time” in his dealings with Iran. Wait, that wasn’t Biden! It was Chamberlain in his dealings with Hitler, resulting in WWII. Hamas has the same intent as Hitler, wiping the Jews off the face of the earth. They want the land of Israel to be a Muslim homeland. In Biden’s condemnation of the Hamas attack, he failed to even mention Iran’s involvement and complicity. Why? Appeasement of Iran? Without question.
Joe Biden lifted the sanctions against Iran and allowed them to engage in international nuclear cooperation and the sale of oil, which funds their pursuit of nuclear weapons. It also allows them to have the funds to support terrorists such as Hamas. Biden has called for a ceasefire in the Hamas-Israeli war. Way to go, Joe; let Hamas inflict incredible damage and take lives, but then allow them the cover of a ceasefire to regroup and reattack without facing the consequences of their actions. That only inspires them to act more cowardly and wickedly.
Let me drop this little nugget that reveals how little this administration cares about America or Americans. It is reported that they are forcing Americans trapped in Israel to sign promissory notes to repay ALL travel costs if they decide to be rescued by the U.S. Government. What?
American citizens in harm’s way should not be expected to buy help from their own government. They are calling it “assisted departure options.” The email stated that if people opted to leave via any assistance from the U.S. government, they would do so via a loan from the U.S. government, which requires travelers to sign a promissory note (an agreement to repay) before departure. If you don’t sign the note, you don’t get help. Wow! What are the terrorists thinking when they hear that? It is not U.S. strength and willingness to defend and protect its own citizens. Therefore, they are emboldened to do more harm. Way to go, Joe!
This is not the first time the Biden administration has abandoned American citizens. They left up to 9,000 stranded in Afghanistan in 2022. The communications manager at the American Accountability Foundation, Yitz Friedman, related his story of being trapped in Israel at an X post. He brought to light the unconscionable actions of the U.S. State Department.
He revealed that Poland, Hungary, Brazil, Romania, and other countries sent planes to bring their citizens home, but not the U.S. He said that he called the U.S. Embassy asking for help and was told to “pound sand” (hoof it to get out the best way he could). He said that were it not for the Trump-negotiated Abraham Accord, the option to fly to a “friendly Arab country” in a time of war would have been impossible. Thankfully, they were able to leave Israel via an Emirates flight and reach Dubai. Strength produces peace, whereas weakness and appeasement ensure conflict. You can thank Joe Biden and his administration for our dilemma.
The window is rapidly closing, and the doomsday clock is ticking if we do not act decisively and immediately. America’s future is hanging in the balance! It is time for us to fall on our faces in intercession and repentance before God and cry out for His mercy and help!
God help us to wake up and reclaim our Republic.
