The Vote of the Non-Voter

I realize my blog today may not be appreciated or accepted by some, but it is my view.  If you disagree, you disagree.  I will not call you names or seek to vilify you for that position.  I hope that you will hear my questions and convictions with civility.

I saw a disturbing report from the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University. That study projected that approximately 104 million people of faith, including 32 million who self-identify as Christians and who regularly attend church, may abstain from voting in this election.

My immediate question was, “Why?”  Why would so many Christians or people of faith not be involved in the selection of the next president of the United States?  Why would so many put the decision of the type of governmental representation we would have in the hands of others, many who are non-believers and have a vastly different ideological view?  Why?  That is a perplexing question for me, a fellow believer.

I understand that the politician’s and political activists’ incessant diatribes and rhetoric can be difficult to stomach. The nastiness of politics is often anything but Christian, frequently quite uncivil, and leaves one feeling they need a shower after listening. I understand the dirtiness of the political process. I do, but I also realize what is at stake and how it affects voters and non-voters.

I have had Christians, including preachers, tell me that they do not do politics, and they leave that to the politicians.  My standard response is, “That’s what got us in this mess.”  Tragically, the misunderstanding of the original meaning of ‘Separation of Church and State’ has been instrumental in this attitude.  Also, the belief that if believers are involved in politics, they somehow secularize the gospel, and the desire to be faithful to Christ precludes any involvement in the political process.

If a believer believes that they should not participate, I will not denigrate them for that view. However, I will ask that they consider what is at stake and how their decision affects others, including their children and grandchildren.

In America’s quest to become independent from England, the clergy was generally deeply involved and influential in the decisions made.   In the subsequent years, pastors would preach ‘election day sermons’ in which they detailed the issues and even suggested how the congregants voted.   They contrasted the positions of the parties and candidates to biblical precepts, principles, and standards and voted accordingly.  We should, too.

If we do not participate in the process, we surrender our privilege and responsibility to choose the nation’s direction.  If the nation elects leaders and officials who hold anti-biblical views, that nation will not enjoy the blessings of God.  If a country chooses leaders who espouse policies and agendas that are in harmony with God’s word, that nation will have the propitious smile of heaven.

Christians are to be ‘salt and light’ in a dark world.  I question if that is possible if we remain in the background with no voice regarding the type of government we live under.  Yes, we are citizens of another world, but we live in this one.  When millions of unborn babies are being aborted, young children subjected to gender transition treatments, the family unit of father and mother relegated to unimportance, and freedom of speech and religion being diminished, how can a believer not be involved at least in casting a ballot?

I hold the view that if a believer or anyone who opposes the views of the Leftists withholds their vote, they are voting via absentia for what they oppose.  Had they voted for the candidate or party that took a stance more closely aligned with their view, they could have possibly provided the needed majority to reject those agendas.  Withholding their vote allows that side a better opportunity to prevail.   Therefore, in reality the non-vote becomes a vote in the negative.

I believe that as a believer, it is my responsibility to voice my desire, which hopefully is God’s desire, by my vote.  If I did not vote, I would feel that I have neglected my responsibility to provide my family with the desired sanctuary to live, thrive, and survive.  If I fail to participate and the nation becomes something other than the Free Constitutional Republic established, how much responsibility do I have for that condition?

I am not saying that if you do not vote, your name will be blotted out of God’s Book of Life.  No, I am saying that we are to be good stewards of the Blessings of God.   Our government is supposed to be a government of the people, for the people, and by the people; therefore, as a good steward, I have a responsibility to help determine the nation’s direction politically.

I voted for the party and candidate with a history of and expressed views that give the best hope of protecting our religious liberties and freedoms.  I voted against the party and candidate that seeks agendas and pursues ideologies that I consider anathema to the Bible and my faith.   I voted for Donald J. Trump and the Republicans.  Not because they are without flaws but because the other side is more profoundly flawed and immoral.

God bless you, and God bless America!

Religion and Politics Separate?

I do not want to sound irrelevant, but the societally destructive idea that Religion and Politics should be kept separate will not die, so I must speak to it.  I speak from my Christian worldview and through my study of American history and the Founding Fathers.

I have told people, “You are not a cat; you do not have multiple lives; you have a life, and that life is the sum total of who you truly are.”  Yet, I continue to meet the idea, among Church attendees, that life is compartmentalized and separate.  I beg to differ!  What you truly are will be revealed in the total of your interactions.  Your work, social, religious, political, and family life combined define you.

That being said, how do we totally divest ourselves of politics when politics impacts life, and life is what we live? Today’s extreme secularization is troubling. I do not ask nor desire that preachers make every sermon a political activism speech. That would be contrary to the purpose of the ministry. However, I expect preachers and church members to be engaged, aware, and even vocal about things contrary to moral sense and biblical standards.

If we try to build an impenetrable wall between things political and things spiritual, we will open the door for those seeking to advance anti-biblical agendas to operate freely.  I believe that believers are expected to sound the alarm when danger is visible.  Often, politics embodies dangers that cannot be ignored.  Therefore, religion and politics cannot always be separated.

There are two sides to the coin of religious involvement in government; it can go too far.   I am convinced that a major impetus in today’s societal norm, the demand that “Abortion is a Woman’s Personal Choice,is the acceptance of homosexual marriages.  God did not create multiple genders but “male and female, created He them.” (Genesis 1:27).   There is nothing ambiguous about that.

My religious views are that abortion is the taking of a human life.  I believe there are instances where, biblically, there is justification for taking a human life.  The Bible speaks to them, punishment for premeditated murder being the chief, not abortion.  If you do not view that baby in the womb as a human being in development, you may well be able to endorse abortion; I cannot.

The founding fathers were diligent in their endeavor to prevent the government from imposing any religious beliefs on the public. They did not want a ‘State Church,’ as was the case in England. They wanted freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. They desired that each person have the right to worship or not worship as they desired.

Demanding that we keep religion and politics completely separate opens the door for edicts such as the one Kamala Harris has declared her administration would follow.  She said that there would be no religious exemptions to medical personnel regarding abortions.  That takes the matter a step further than ‘Separation of Church and State’ and imposes the States’ wishes on religion.   If you demand the church and religion stay out of politics, you must also insist that the state or politics stay out of our religious lives.

The insistence that abortion should be legal until and, in some cases, even after birth is beyond diabolical.  How could anyone, even the most ardent supporters of abortion, not acknowledge that that fully developed child is a human being?  How is that not genocide?  How is that not infanticide?  How can that be deemed just and acceptable?  How can I remain silent when the lives of the unborn are being regarded as an unwanted growth on the body?  How?

She called it a ‘fundamental freedom to make decisions about your own body.”  Madam, what about the fundamental freedom of that unborn to have the opportunity to live?   That baby in the womb is not part of the woman’s body; it is a separate life being hosted in the woman’s body.  That baby is not a kidney, a gall bladder, or some other organ; it is a Human Being!

With each incursion by the State to regulate our religious freedoms or other freedoms, we inch closer to the condition where the State defines life and decides where we live, work, and how we conduct life.  That is not freedom; that is tyranny and slavery.  I cannot sit in silence and watch our liberties and freedoms trampled on by the godless oligarchs of politics.

I am a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, a Christian.  I am a natural-born American, a Vietnam Veteran, a patriot, a father, grandfather, husband, brother, and neighbor.  I want what is best for America, and infringing upon our Religious Freedom and demanding that Christians sit in silence regarding politics is dangerous and destructive.  Therefore, I will continue to sound the alarm as long as I draw breath and stand for Faith, Family, and Freedom.

God bless you, and God bless America!

Some Like to Gripe But Don’t Like to Be Involved…

What I am going to say will possibly irritate some, maybe many.  However, I cannot refrain from offering my two cents based on my beliefs biblically, constitutionally, and personally.  If you find it objectionable, then hold tightly to your views.  You are welcome to voice your opinion, but if you respond here, I ask that you remain civil; otherwise, please refrain from commenting.

I consider a person’s Facebook page or any other social media medium equivalent to their home.  I would not come into your home and lash out vitriolically.  It is your home, and I respect that.  If I disagreed with your approach or lifestyle, I would extricate myself and move on.  I would not condone it, but I would not be abusive.

Now, I will discuss what I feel I must address.  I will address those identifying as ‘Christians’ in this, but it also applies to others.  The reason I feel the need to address this issue is that reports are that there are supposedly ninety million Christians in America, and approximately fifty-five million either do not vote or are not registered to vote.  I consider that a tragedy.

In my 70-plus years on the planet and over 50 years in the ministry, I have concluded that many people “Like to Gripe but Don’t want to do what is necessary to fix the problem.”   They don’t want to get their hands dirty with the difficulty of dealing with hard, complex, and controversial issues. They just ‘Gripe,’ blaming everything and everyone but themselves.

If you do not vote, you have no right to complain.  Think about it before you heat up the oil to boil me and the feathers to cover me.  If you do not participate in the potential solution, how can you complain when nothing good transpires?  You had the opportunity to be a part of the decision but opted to take the easy road, abdicate personal responsibility, and let others decide.  After the fact, you become vocal, complaining about the situation.

In my study of American history, I have noted that Christians and Churches were actively involved in the political process during the Revolutionary period and long after. Many pastors in those days preached what they called “Election Day Sermons,” advising their congregants of the issues and even suggesting how they should vote.

I am not ashamed to tell people how and why I will vote a particular way or for a specific candidate.  I attempt to deal with the issues, reflect on the track records, and consider the policies and the party platform.  I then vote for the candidate or party whose track record, agenda, and policies most closely align with my biblical values.  Hopefully, my values are biblical, not personal preference and bias.

If those of us who are Christians or profess to be do not become involved and, at a minimum, vote, how can we consider ourselves obedient to the faith?  The Bible nowhere teaches a live-and-let-live attitude that condones or accepts everything.  The Bible calls us to come out from among the world and be separate.  We are not to be isolated hermits but committed to the principles and precepts of the Bible.  Our lives and our votes should correspond with the tenets of the Bible.

Before you explode and argue that if I vote for a person with a flawed character, I cannot be following biblical precepts, remember that God frequently used ‘flawed people’ to do some incredible and good things. Since none of us are perfect, let him, who is without sin, cast the first stone. Otherwise, move past the personalities to the policies and evaluate how those policies align with or contradict the Bible.

I read a quote that resonated with me, “No nation will thrive because of the righteousness of a leader but will thrive because of the righteousness of the policies promoted by that leader.”  I contend that if we vote for personalities rather than policies, we err and endanger the Republic. I suggest that many things considered secular have a biblical foundation and importance.

We need judges who honor justice, integrity, morality, and the Constitution and value human life.  Without borders, there is no nation, and we endanger the legal citizens.  I stand with Israel because God does.  I believe in marriage between one man and one woman because God does.  I believe in religious liberty, espoused in the Bible and the First Amendment.  I believe in the family because God places heavy emphasis on the family and parental responsibility in developing and training the children.  I believe in the value of human life because God does.

When I hear people like Hakeem Jefferies issue a text or statement immediately after the second attempt on Donald Trump that “We must stop the MAGA.” I cringe, but he and we know that kind of rhetoric promotes more of the same thing as the two would-be assassins.  Then Hillary Clinton declared that Donald Trump was a danger to America and the world; I cringed knowing that incendiary rhetoric laced with hate, paranoia, and fear has only one logical result.

So, if you ‘Like to Gripe’ but are unwilling to be involved in solving the problem or voting, I ask, “Could that be part of the problem.”  Could your unwillingness to vote be a backdoor vote for everything currently wrong?  I believe that our personal preferences regarding personality must become subordinate to what is Constitutionally, morally, and biblically correct.

I ask that you evaluate (honestly) this year’s presidential and compare the past four years with the previous four, and if you can honestly say that your economic situation, your freedoms, and life are better now than under the previous administration, then vote accordingly.  Most of us cannot say that.  I do not want hype; I want action.  Therefore, based on my reflection on the two administrations in question, my biblical view, and my desire to preserve the Republic, I will vote No on Kamala Harris and Yes on Donald Trump.  Not because I think the GOP is without fault, but the Left is far worse, in my view.

Please pray, examine the facts, not the rhetoric, and vote!   If I refuse to be involved in a matter, I offer no opinion on that matter.  Some have asked me, “What are you hearing in your spirit about this election?”  The same thing I heard in 2020, “It’s up to you!”    The “you” in that equation are all of us who believe in God.  If we pray and vote, we can have God’s desire.  If we do not, then evil will prevail.  The ball is in our court!

God bless you, and God bless America!

What Are the Democrats Afraid of In This Election?

I have thought a lot about my title question.   What is it that the Leftist, Globalist, Marxist, Socialist, and WOKE advocates that make up the Democratic Party are truly afraid of if they lose?  What is their primary concern if the Left is no longer calling the shots in the American Government?  Do you have an answer?  I have an opinion that I would like to share.

I believe that one of the significant reasons the Democrats and liberal, left-leaning, RINO Republicans hate Donald Trump so much is “Fear of Exposure.”  I can hear someone say, “It can’t be that simple.”  Maybe not, but that is one of the primary reasons they hate him and are hell-bent on keeping him out of the White House.  I believe they will do whatever they deem necessary, including another assassination attempt to achieve that goal.

The Democrats, the MSM, and the nominee of the Left insist that Donald John Trump is the greatest threat to our democracy.  I will not delve into the fact that America is not a direct democracy but a Representative Republic.  It is a pet peeve for me and an irritant when people talk about “our democracy.”   It screams their lack of understanding of our system of Government.  But that is another topic for another time.

A current great threat to America’s existence as a Constitutional Republic is Kamala Harris and her agenda.  I’m quite sure it is not hers, as in she devised it, but hers in that she is the presumptive leader of the party now.

Her policies, as announced, neuter our Constitution, disregard its provisions, and will effectively transform the Republic into a despotic authoritarian tyranny.  The likes of people like former Vice President Dick Cheney suddenly morphed from being viewed as a despised ‘war criminal’ to the Left’s best friend when he denounced Trump and threw his support behind Harris.  The scorn of his daughter and his true stripes have sent him over the edge to the enemy’s camp.   He said, “In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump.”   Mr. Cheney, you are not only misguided, but you are also delusional and wrong!

Several things are a paramount threat to our Republic and system of Government, and Trump is not the problem, but Harris and the Left are.

What About Freedom of Speech—the First Amendment?   If you do even cursory research, you will quickly discover that since Trump’s surprising victory in 2016, the media and various arms of the federal Government have launched a massive censorship campaign to silence speech they do not like.  Trump opposed and opposes that effort; Harris did and does not!

Kamala Harris’ record indicates she is the enemy of that most fundamental right— “Free Speech.”  During her failed primary run in 2019, she pressured the then-CEO of Twitter to de-platform Donald Trump.  She attempted to justify her actions weakly, but they did not pass the smell test.

What about the Supreme Court?    The Biden-Harris administration and the Left want to render the court meaningless.  They have floated trial balloons such as packing the court and ignoring the court and will intensify those efforts if she wins.  She wants term limits and told the New York Times that she was ‘absolutely open’ to packing the court.

What about our National Sovereignty and Border Security?  Harris and the Left want “No Border,” and Trump wants a “secure border.”   We have a plethora of documentation of the dangers of allowing the border to become nothing more than an unmanaged sieve or pipeline of illegals.  It is clear that one of their reasons is votes, but an equally dangerous motive is the destruction of the Republic.

The influx of criminals, mentally insane, terrorists, diseased, and other dangers make it clear that the border must be protected if we are to remain a sovereign nation.  The sleeper cells in existence and the unchecked and unhampered flow of potential weapons and warriors are a direct threat to our Republic.

We could discuss the myriad other things she supports and envisions for America that are diametrically opposed to biblical morality, fiscal sanity, national security, and constitutional protection. I do not see how a person can be a follower of Jesus Christ, a believer in the precepts of the Bible, and vote for the Left at this juncture. That will get me kicked to the curb, but when a party opposes what God clearly opposes and supports what is anathema to the Bible, how can we support them?

I believe everyone has the God-given and constitutional right to have an opinion and express it peacefully, even if it is forceful in tone.  If I disagree, I can choose to debate them, or if I prefer, I can walk away and let them have their time on the stump ranting and lamenting.   The ability to voice differing opinions was one of the things that made America the Great Nation it has been.

Please pay attention to the records, not just the rhetoric. In this election, please remove personality and personal bias from the equation and vote for what is biblically, morally, and constitutionally right. America is facing an exceedingly difficult time, and only God can help us return to civility and sanity.

God bless you, and God bless America!

The Reward of Failure.

I read an article recently that said, “Kamala is good for nothing.”  The author listed three specific areas where she fit that bill or billing.  Her political career is littered with failure after failure, wrong decision after wrong decision, and she has been rewarded with a higher position on the political ladder each time.  That reward is beyond ridiculous, but a reality that is a mystery.

Kamala Harris’ political record is a paradox of failures.  When a respected Black journalist could assert that she had ‘failed up the career ladder,’ it’s hard not to be baffled. Craig J. DeLuz’s statement in the Washington Times is a stark reminder of this paradox. He said, “An elected official with a track record of failure spanning her entire political career has consistently been rewarded with promotions by the left-leaning voters.”

Kamala Harris, considered the most left-leaning member of the Senate, has achieved remarkably little. Yet, she was catapulted to the Vice Presidency despite her lack of significant accomplishments. This raises a crucial question: do people even care about records and results, or is it all about identity and ideology?

To say she is ‘good for nothing’ might be inaccurate in one respect.  She is obviously good for those voters who want a freebie and are unwilling to work or strive for success.  Those who have adopted the mentality of “let the government take care of me” probably find her very appealing.  Hey, you never bite the hand that feeds you, so you vote and vote for them repeatedly.  Keep the gravy train running!

She is especially good for the myriads of illegals flooding across our southern border. Her giveaways and protection of them must make her very desirable, and they will vote for her. Wait? They cannot vote, right? I am not a betting man, but I ask, “Want to bet?”  Her giveaways can only further damage our economy and increase our nation’s debt, but what is a few trillion among friends, right?

Someone said, “Kamala Harris is a blank slate, a tabula rasa upon which the leftist intelligentsia will scribble hogwash.”  Even Bernie Sanders, the avowed Socialist and Constitution hater of the Left, said, “Harris does not have the courage of her convictions, but will say and do anything to become the first female president.”   Does that make you feel all warm and fuzzy?  It troubles me to the core of my being.

She offers ‘word salads’ without specifics or a real plan to salvage the economy.  She desires to earn votes with taxpayer dollars through her entitlements and giveaways.  She is a threat to our Republic, and her Marxist views are incredibly dangerous to our Freedom.

The idiom that should be noted is “nature abhors a vacuum.”  World leaders such as Putin and Xi are extreme opportunists who desire and are pursuing a “New World Order.”  They envision themselves as the head of that order but are willing to join forces to destroy all resistance.

With a continuation of Biden’s ineptitude, reflecting military weakness and a lack of resolve, the world was more unsafe under Biden and would only get worse under Harris. Trump said he would prevent WWIII, and he might be right. With Harris at the helm, the likelihood of conflict is almost certain. The opportunists who have no fear of America would seize the moment to advance their agendas.

America, we have a profoundly serious decision to make in November, just days away. What we decide will not only impact us now but will also impact future generations and shape the future of America or its demise. I am not saying that if Harris is in the White House, America will cease to exist, but I am saying that her policies will push us to the brink and could push us over the edge.

I cannot vote for a party that advocates virtually everything I consider morally unacceptable.  I cannot vote for a party that advances policies that are in direct conflict with the Bible.  I cannot vote for a party that devalues the life in the womb to the point that they consider it acceptable to snuff out that life even after a botched abortion.  I will vote for Freedom, and that means I will vote NO on Harris and the Democrats!

God bless you, and God bless America!

Facts are Facts, and Records are True Indicators…

I continue to be amazed and, in a measure, impressed with the way that the Left, the MSM, Hollywood, and the Democrats have been able to distort the facts and have people believe them.   I am impressed with their deceptive ability, not appreciative or condoning, but their success amazes me.

Conversely, I’m consistently unimpressed by those who buy into the spin and cast their votes. Often, when I engage a Democrat supporter, their true motivation becomes clear—a deep-seated hatred for Trump. This powerful emotion all too often clouds judgment, leading to the celebration of a destructive victory.

When I compare the past four years with the previous ones, I quickly come to a simple conclusion.  Policies matter, and I often ask, “Were you better off in the previous four years than the last four years?”  I qualify that focusing on economics, liberties, sense of security, and confidence in where the country is heading.  If that question is answered honestly, most would say, “No, I am not better off now, and yes, I was better off, and the country appeared to be heading in a better direction than in this administration.”

If we could somehow remove the names of the presidential candidates and examine the facts, it might be easier for people to acknowledge the facts. Still, hate is so powerful and prevalent that some can’t acknowledge the facts.   Facts are stubborn things.  I readily acknowledge that everyone has a right to their opinion.  However, they do not have a right to their own facts.  They do not have the right to skew those facts to accommodate their agenda or ideology.

The economy was growing under Donald Trump but has gone backward under the Biden-Harris administration. Joe Biden effectively made his Vice President Kamala Harris the Border Czar, and she was going to fix the problem. By ‘fix,’ I guess they meant the eradication of enforcement of our immigration laws and open wide the gates with no vetting. Her record as a Senator was one of radical liberalism. Her involvement in the current administration should disqualify her for the job of president.

Kamala Harris is supposedly running as a change from Joe Biden’s policies but basically plagiarized his campaign policies for her political website. But I guess plagiarism is not an unknown tactic for her.  How’s that for being a change that can fix things?  The very things she and Biden broke she is somehow going to fix.  But spin is spin, and rhetoric is rhetoric, and those who want to believe will believe and unquestioningly vote because Trump is bad (so they are told).

If the polls are any indication of how people will vote, her position should be problematic for her and the Left.  The polls indicate that more than 60% of voters want a major change from the current policies.  Only 25% felt that Harris was a change from Biden.

Let’s take one element of the Biden-Harris administration and examine it.  We are informed that there are approximately 20,000 illegal Haitians who have taken over the town of Springfield, Ohio.  The city had a population of 58,601.  Forcing them to house 20,000 illegals is not reasonable.  The mayor lamented that due to the influx of illegals, the town was doomed for collapse.

The residents of Springfield, Ohio, have experienced the pinch of escalating costs due to the influx of illegals and the wake of the destruction they have brought.  Insurance is skyrocketing due to the numbers and ineptitude of those illegals to navigate the roadways.  In addition, the Biden-Harris created an increase in fuel costs, inflation, costs of goods and services, and rising cost of living, and you understand why 60% (an amazingly low number) want dramatic change.

The open border guarantees the influx of drugs flooding our nation, escalating crime, and more.  When massive numbers of illegals are deposited in a city of small or medium-sized, the residents are forced to pay the price or move.  If the taxpayers move, what happens to the town?  It collapses.   The person charged with fixing the border created this.  If you live in one of those cities or towns, please remember who created this mess when you vote in November.

If you do not care about the Republic and only care about having or maintaining power and control, what better route than an open border?  The illegals have historically become Democrat voters.  With the reporting shrinking voter base of the Left and the Independents who are waking up to the truth, the Democrats have to manufacture a new base.

Nancy Pelosi told Bill Maher that she is in favor of a California bill that would give illegal immigrants taxpayer money to buy homes.  Maher, to his credit, said, “Democrats did not use to support free housing for illegals.”  Pelosi, in harmony with the views of Harris, said, “Well, that’s not free housing.  It’s the American Dream being available to more people.”   Seriously, she said that.  I guess crime does pay, and there is a reward for breaking our laws, providing you are a potential Democrat vote in the future.

One more issue to consider.  The Harris economic plan would cause the average tax on the working class to increase by at least $1,100.  Our taxes will increase, the entitlements will increase, and illegals will ride the Harris gravy train of freebies.  Imagine going to Mexico or any other country and expecting to be rewarded for entering that country illegally.   That is a fantasy; you would either be immediately deported or incarcerated.    But the Left’s America is espousing open arms to one and all with no regard for our laws or our citizens.

How you vote matters, and elections do have consequences. You may not like Donald Trump, and I sometimes find him abrasive and hard to handle, but consider the past two administrations and ask, “In which was I better off?”   If you are honest, you will vote no on Harris in November, and your no on her will become a yes to Trump’s plans to help us keep more of what we have earned.

God bless you, and God bless America!

How Do You Explain It?

What is the ‘it’ that I ask to be explained?   Before I answer that question, let me elaborate on a few things, and you will know exactly what I am referring to before I answer the question.

Hate and prejudicial bias are prevalent in America today, and I am not speaking solely of racism.  I am painting with a very broad and expansive brush in that statement.  Hate has permeated virtually every segment of our society and has become a political and legal weapon.  There is no apparent desire by those in the media or politics to fix the problem; it is too useful for their agendas.

I read a poll that indicated that Americans prefer Donald J. Trump over Kamala Harris on every major economic issue.  I did not say some or most, but ‘Every’ major economic issue.  That is very interesting and is part of my title question.

Let me offer a few examples from the polling data, and then we will get to the question:

  • Among registered voters, Donald Trump is listed as being fifteen points ahead of Harris on the ability to manage the Stock Market.
  • He has a 9-point advantage over her in improving America’s financial well-being and the broader U.S. Economy.
  • He is up by seven points on handling the job market.
  • He is ahead by six points on managing the cost-of-living crisis, an issue that most respondents said should be the next president’s top priority.

The Biben-Harris administration oversaw the shuddering of many industries, and we are being hammered by higher costs on virtually everything since they took office.  If you actually go to the gas station or grocery store or have to purchase building materials, etc.  You realize that no matter the spin on the economy – Inflation is out of control.

We are not better off than we were four years ago.  In our personal finances, virtually all of us are in much worse shape than before.  Ronald Reagan’s question when debating Jimmy Carter is relevant today, “Are you better off than you were four years ago?”   My answer is, it is not even close – NO, I AM NOT!

Kamala Harris went on The View (Democratic Cheerleaders Show) and admitted that she could not think of one decision Biden made that she would change.  So, much for fixing what is wrong, she wants more of the same, and that is bad news for all working-class Americans who pay taxes.

She was asked, “Would you have done anything different than President Biden during the past four years?”  That is a valid question for a presidential candidate who insists that on day one, she will fix the problems. How can you fix a broken system if you intend to continue the same policies that broke it?

Her response is revealing and cause for genuine concern.  She said, “There is not a thing that comes to mind.  And I’ve been a part of most of the decisions that have had impact.”  Wait?  What?  You have been a part of the decisions, but I thought you said…   I won’t go into that, but her words are her words; she was a part of the decision-making that has crippled our economy.

She then touted a fictitious statistic that claims to have created 800,000 new jobs around manufacturing.  She claims their administration has created over sixteen million new jobs and over 800,000 new manufacturing jobs.  She also claimed that Black unemployment is the lowest in generations.  That needs to be examined a bit more closely.

The Black unemployment rate, reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, was 4.8% in April 2023, but as of August 2024, it has climbed to 6.1%, exactly where it was in February 2020 under Donald Trump.  So, much for that claim.  It is bogus, and she knows it.  But alas, those who drink at the trough of spin will drink it like swill and repeat it.

The manufacturing jobs are a bit skewed and somewhat less than they claim.  However, a historical fact is that the U.S. economy has had thirteen recessions in the past eighty years.  Forty-five months after nine of those recessions began, manufacturing jobs remained below their initial levels, and in the remaining four, manufacturing jobs exceeded their initial levels.

Trying to hold Trump accountable for the loss of jobs is misleading because most were lost due to the global pandemic and the international decisions made.  Most of the jobs they claim to have created are simply factories ‘re-filling’ jobs previously created under Trump’s watch.  It is not creating new jobs but restoring the lost ones.  But spin is spin, and it is powerful.

Now, to conclude with my question in full.  “If most American voters support Trump more on economic issues than Harris, how is this race even close?”   If, on national security, more trust Trump than Harris, the same question applies.  What is the answer?  I believe it can only be attributed to one thing – Hatred for Donald Trump.  But I believe it goes deeper than that, and it is a misguided view of Republicanism and laden with Entitlementism.

It seems that many do not care about what is best for America and others; they only care about what they want and how they see things.  If we are voting based on moral character, past, present, or projected, and make it about Trump but exclude Harris, we are misguided and not being honest.  That makes it preference, not facts, agendas, policies, or governance track record, and that is bad news for America.

I only ask that you carefully consider what is at stake and look at four to eight years ago as compared to the past four years.  I ask you to consider our Rights and Freedoms and ask yourself, “How much are you willing to cede to the government to get what you want?”  I want the Constitution to be the Governing Guide for our Republic.  I want the rule of law to be equally and fairly enforced and not used as a political weapon.  I want Freedom, not Tyranny.

God bless you, and God bless America!

Trusting False Security Brings Destruction…

I will address the political by addressing the spiritual in America today.  I am not speaking to the other nations of the world or the churches in those nations but to America, Americans, and the American church.

I have sensed for a long time that trouble is coming to this nation that will completely alter it in the eyes of the world and of those within its borders.  I am not trying to bring a message of fear but one of hope.  I see a parallel between current conditions in America and Israel in Jeremiah’s day.

I realize that I am opening myself up to severe criticism and may shift how some view me, but I cannot let that concern dissuade me from speaking what I believe I am hearing in my heart. I love America, I love the church, I love God’s people, and I believe there is hope. At the same time, I know that no nation is so important that it is beyond God’s chastisement or judgment.

If a nation becomes so self-important in its mind that it believes it is exempt from God’s correction when evil is prevalent, it lives in the throes of deception and is a prime candidate for major upheaval.  By the same token, I believe the warning, urging, and plea of 2 Chronicles 7:14 that if believers humble themselves, pray, seek God’s face, repent, and return to following God’s precepts, He will respond positively.

I can allow a false sense of security to prevail and believe that no matter what, America will come out on the other side of any difficulty intact and unscathed.  That did not happen to Israel and will not occur to an America that ignores God’s precepts and principles.  If we ignore God’s declared laws or precepts, we will incur God’s chastisement, if not His judgment.  Are we there?  I believe we are on the precipice.

In pre-Babylonian Israel, in Jeremiah’s day, the spiritual leaders believed that God loved Jerusalem too much to allow it to fall into the hands of an enemy.  They were wrong!  They believed they were too important to God’s plan for judgment.  They were wrong!  In the American church today, some are proclaiming that America is too important economically, spiritually, and socially for God to allow her to be subdued.  Without fear of being wrong, I declare that no Nation is too Important or that Important!

God will not wink at sin, and when a nation enacts laws that directly violate God’s biblical and moral precepts, that nation endangers itself. God may not judge us as much as He withdraws His hand of protection and allows us to suffer the consequences of our decisions to violate His precepts.

I predicted to a congregation over 45 years ago that I saw a time coming in America when God’s people would be forced to trust God for EVERYTHING!   The food on our table, the shelter over our heads, the clothes on our backs, and our very livelihoods would come directly from God through faith.  Our medical care would be, once again, divine.  Our protection would, once again, be divine.  Our very existence would be similar to that of Elijah during the 3 ½ years of drought in Israel.

When a political party embraces ideological views anathema to the Scripture, it pits itself against freedom and against God.  When the most defenseless among us are unprotected, and we deem it a woman’s right to kill that baby in the womb for whatever reason, we have adopted a position that makes the rights of the individual an idol and a virtual god.

Only God has the right to determine when a life ends.  We talk about a woman’s right to her body; what about that unborn baby’s right to its body?  Who is protecting the unborn?  I hear the argument about incest and rape as justifications for abortion.   When did two wrongs make a right?  Was that unborn baby the guilty party in either of those situations?

I hear about physical conditions as justification to abort the baby.  Was that unborn baby the cause of that condition? I suggest that, as with the man born blind that Jesus healed, the disciples asked, “Who Sinned to cause this?”  Jesus said, “Not the individual or the parents, but it was an opportunity for God’s incredible grace, mercy, and power to be demonstrated.”

I have heard of abortions being demanded because the child was of the wrong gender or that it interfered with the planned career of the mother.  How is that the unborn baby’s fault?  When did our preference and convenience become paramount?

I believe that much of the problem in today’s world stems from a complacent church that has adopted a false sense of security.  I am concerned that we do not fear the Living God and are callous in our response to His precepts and commandments.

America has been a beacon of hope for generations and can be again.  America has been the catalyst for sending the gospel worldwide and can be again.  America has been a system of government where people could pursue Life, Liberty, and Happiness and can be again.  We have a choice in November, and we dare not let complacency or personal preference guide us; we must let God’s Word!

If there were no other issue, abortion would be enough to sway me in my vote.  The lunacy that is embraced today by one party regarding a plethora of things all in direct conflict with the Bible leaves me no option but to vote No on their candidates!

You vote as you believe. Before you vote, you honestly go before God and ask for His preference.  I ask you to honestly consider the policies and platforms and square them with the Word of God.  If you do that, I believe you will vote according to God’s desire.

God bless you, and God bless America!

AMERICA NEEDS HEALING – Are We Healing or Hurtling Toward Destruction?

My title may rankle enough people that only two or three will be left to read this article.  However, God made some things clear in His word—things that impact every dimension of life, including interpersonal relationships and politics.  Yes, politics because politics affects life, and God is all about life.

The Bible teaches some basic guidelines regarding Life and how to deal with each other. If those were followed, 99.9% of the manufactured and exaggerated problems we now face and focus on would dissipate. I believe that it would transpire relatively quickly, and many of those issues would become non-existent.

You may vehemently disagree and believe that if we use the biblical directive to deal with people and the problems facing each of us and this nation, we will become doormats.   You may believe we must fight fire with fire and push back harder than we are pushed.   If you do, what I am going to say will not be palatable in your world, and you will deem me a weak-willed pacifist.   Think what you will, but I will go with God’s Word.

Jesus instructed in John 13:34-45 – “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another.  Just as I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples if you have love for one another.”   We do not love one another in today’s world.  That is a fact!

Paul informed us of how problems arise and the fruit of the lack of love in Galatians 5:13-15 – For you, my brothers, were called to freedom; only do not let your freedom become an opportunity for the sinful nature (worldliness, selfishness), but through love serve and seek the best for one another. 14 For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is fulfilled in one precept, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself [that is, you shall have an unselfish concern for others and do things for their benefit].” 15 But if you bite and devour one another [in bickering and strife], watch out that you [along with your entire fellowship] are not consumed by one another.”

James gave a powerful dissertation offering incredible insight in James 3:16-18 – “For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder [unrest, rebellion] and every evil thing and morally degrading practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure [morally and spiritually undefiled], then peace-loving [courteous, considerate], gentle, reasonable [and willing to listen], full of compassion and good fruits. It is unwavering, without [self-righteous] hypocrisy [and self-serving guile]. 18 And the seed whose fruit is righteousness (spiritual maturity) is sown in peace by those who make peace [by actively encouraging goodwill between individuals].”

My objective is not to make this a sermon but to highlight that we are focused on the wrong issues and the root source of the problems in today’s world. Interpersonal issues are not racial issues but heart issues.

Whether we are talking about same-sex marriages, genders, abortion, adultery, fornication, murder, rape, theft, violence, and scores of other issues, the source of the problem is in the heart.   Not the physical organ that pumps blood to the other organs but the heart of the soul.   It is that place where the seed of who we are is birthed.  If that is aligned with God’s moral and spiritual principles and precepts, we will find peaceful coexistence; otherwise, we will have every kind of chaos and disruption known to man.

I view the situation in American politics as terminal and worth every ounce of energy we can expend to correct our wrong direction.  However, fighting with political weapons, hurling insult for insult, and seeking to destroy those in opposition will exasperate the problem, not rectify it.

I refuse to allow hate to dominate my life and skew my worldview.  I am a Christian, and I believe in the Bible.  In America’s formation, our founders and the framer of our constitution recognized the value of God’s precepts being known by all citizens.  They acknowledged the divine providence and help of God in our successes.  They included the Bible as part of the public education curriculum and printed a Bible to be distributed to American citizens.  You may find that repulsive, but history validates what I just asserted.

I have determined to make it my life’s objective to see people as God sees them.  I continually endeavor to view people through the lens of heaven, not my ideology, preference, or any animus or bias I might be tempted to allow.

There is much to dislike and even abhor in the lives and political activities of numerous people in government today.   The corruption is visible and documented in some who hold or have held the highest of offices in America.   But if I fight them on their level, they may not win, and neither will I.  Evil will prevail, and the hatred and division will be perpetuated.

We endured the horrific events of September 11, 2001.  I was encouraged when I witnessed my beloved America drawn together, transcending ideological and political lines, and standing hand in hand as a united people.

After the attack by the Japanese Empire on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, America essentially threw aside ideological differences and united to preserve the republic.  We have done that numerous times in our history.  The Spirit of 1776 has been resurrected from time to time and the value of freedom became the driving force that allowed alliances otherwise impossible.

Had we remained in the death grip of the division created by jealousy, envy, distrust, misunderstanding, and hate, we would have lost WWII, been overrun after 9/11, and America would now be something other than the great nation she has been and still is.

God warned time and again in the Bible regarding those who turn a blind eye to evil, embrace false gods, and engage in the debauchery of depravity.   America is on the brink of becoming so fragmented and divided that nothing short of a miracle of God could bring it together.

Tragically, we have allowed politics to dominate our world, divided it into camps, and sought to eliminate all who are not of our tribe. If they don’t look, act, talk, walk, work, or believe as we do, they are worthy of annihilation in the minds of many today. That is a recipe for destruction, not restoration.

The politics of Big Government is ripping us to shreds.   The war on our inalienable rights, including the freedom of speech, religion, and the right to personal property, including self-defense embodied in the 2nd Amendment, makes us easy targets for evil to prevail.

The fanning of the flames of racial discord, attempting to make one sector the sole villain and culprit while ignoring the inconsistencies of others, is destructive.  The adoption of idolatry in the form of abortion, gender, and denying the source of our creation is deadly.  There is much to hate, but hating people is not the answer.

It is my view that if we, as individuals, committed to following the biblical precepts I mentioned at the outset, regardless of what is done nationally or internationally, we could and would see healing begin.

Am I being Utopian in my view?  Yes, if you believe it can be done without God.  No, if you understand that with men, it is impossible, but with God, all things are possible.  It is impossible for us to love everyone in our own strength.  It is only possible by the ministry and the work of God’s Love, Mercy, Grace, and the Power of the Holy Spirit.

I love America and will expend every ounce of breath and strength I have to preserve her as the Free Constitutional Republic we were found to be.  I am a Vietnam Veteran, a Patriot, a Family man, a Lover of Freedom, and most importantly, a Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.  I believe that the Bible is alive, active, and able to expose the depths of our souls to God and us.  If we will heed the precepts of God’s Word and, as much as possible, live peaceably with all men, demonstrating God’s love to everyone, we will overcome!

Think of me whatever you please and wonder why I am not vilifying the Left over the many atrocious policies and actions being put forth today, but know that my heart is to please God and to save America.  I believe that this pathway is the only legitimate pathway to peace.

I will address the issue of “The Silence of the Lambs” in another blog post.

God bless you, and God bless America!

HEY AMERICA, WHERE DID OUR LIBERTIES GO?

Have you noticed the individual liberties and freedoms we’ve lost or that have been diluted to the point of being unrecognizable?  It’s a serious erosion that demands our attention.   It’s crucial that we critically evaluate political agendas and their potential consequences.  The needs of the many should never outweigh the rights of the few.

The Obama administration sought to regulate everything, even what we could eat or what our kids could eat in schools.  The Biden administration has escalated that, and a Harris administration would likely put the finishing touches on Obama’s desired fundamental transformation.

The Democratic platform is more of the same, and it has even expanded during the last two Democratic administrations in their policies and ideologies.   Theirs is a continual assault on virtually all of our Freedoms and Liberties.   The Constitution is meaningless to them unless they can use it to advance their agenda.   They want us to become beholding to the Federal Government for our existence.  They want us to become so dependent and fearful of Big Brother that we dare not voice a word of opposition lest we get cut off from the dole.

The continual effort to build the base of “dependent voters” is never-ending.   The spin to vilify corporations and successful people has been used for centuries. It is designed to separate people and win them over to the argument of the despot so that they will willingly relinquish their rights and liberties, thinking that this benevolent dictator will look out for their interests with a pure heart.  It never works out that way, but the sheep still follow the pied piper and drink the Kool-Aid as though it were the nectar of life.

Under Donald Trump, it became easier to start a new business, but the plans of the Leftists make it a virtual impossibility to succeed.   There is so much governmental paperwork and regulation that the cost of attempting to produce your idea is often prohibitive.  That is a pathway to stifle American ingenuity.   The mandates in Obamacare were the tip of the iceberg of what they desire and are pushing for.

The class and race antagonism being overtly and covertly pushed by the Left will bring us to a place where martial law would be expected and possibly required.  I wonder how much of the coronavirus pandemic was manufactured by the nefarious in the world to bring us to our knees in submission.   I can never forget the words of Rahm Emanuel, “Never let a crisis go to waste.”   That is their philosophy, and if there is no natural crisis, one is precipitated to ensure the conditions to accomplish their goals.

America, we are witnessing our inalienable rights as provided by God and recognized in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence taken from us “by little and by little.”   Some have been so slowly eroded that we did not notice they were gone until after the fact, and once they are gone, it is virtually impossible to see them restored.

The government is seldom reduced in size. It may be held in check for a time, but once something like the stimulus is out there, it becomes part of the baseline budget, and we get it every year without another vote and the consent of We the People!

If we genuinely want to reduce the deficit and debt, we must adopt a “zero-based budget.”  The politicians on both sides of the aisle, especially the Left, wish to maintain their “baseline budget.”   That budget grows every year and will increase every year even if it reduces the amount or percentage of its growth.   It allows the behemoth called the federal government to continue being a monster, leaving us no ability to feed or control.  That would be true even if we took 100% of our income and applied it to government expenditures.

The idea of cutting the military by over 70% as under Obama and eliminating various portions of our armed forces is deadly.   The claim that we are spending too much on defense is ludicrous.  Over 70% of the Federal Budget goes to individual entitlements or subsidies.  It’s not the military that is the problem, although I agree that waste needs to be addressed.   Yet, national defense is a major function of the federal government, so how can we rationally pare down our military to the point where we place this land at risk because of the lack of equipment or manpower to defend it?

I ask that each of you think about these things, and whatever you do, vote in every election to remove those whose views are contrary to freedom, liberty, the Constitution, and America first.   If you do not vote, you are voting through the back door for a continuation of this policy and ideology that we are having shoved down our throats and the continued stripping away of our liberties.

I want change, and I continually hope that Americans will “awaken out of sleep,” see the handwriting on the wall, and cast a ballot to Restore America to the foundational principles and operations that our Founders envisioned and implemented.

My plea is, “Can I Have My Country Back, Please?”   Benjamin Franklin’s words keep ringing in my ears and wandering through the corridors of my mind these days.   When asked what type of government the Constitution was bringing into existence, he said, “A republic if you can keep it.”

I look back at the history of this nation, and except for the tragedy of slavery, the United States that came into existence was a nation where people could engage in any occupation or venture into any economic endeavor without a government license, permit, or regulation. People could travel anywhere in the world without restrictions (no passports) and trade with anyone they choose without getting the government’s permission.

We have been a nation where people can amass unlimited amounts of wealth with no governmental interference because the Constitution did not originally permit the government to levy income taxes. People are free to do whatever they want with their own money. They can save, spend, donate, invest, hoard, or even destroy it if they want to.  That changed, and we are paying the price for it with a loss of freedom.

The government wasn’t allowed to take care of people.   That was the task of family, churches, local communities, and individuals.   There was no social security (and therefore no social security taxes or contributions withheld from one’s pay), Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, education grants, or even foreign aid.  There was no war on drugs, poverty, or wealth.

Today, we have a government that places such a burden on businesses and individuals through taxes, restrictions, and regulations that we can hardly breathe, much less excel.   We have a President who wants more and more control over every detail of our lives and a Congress that seems willing to go along with those desires as they line their pockets, insulate their positions of power, and participate in living the life of an Elite Ruling Class.  This is a far cry from what the Founders envisioned, planned, and tried to prevent, and would raise a call to arms if they were here today.

So, I ask Congress, the President, the Supreme Court, Churches, and every governmental agency in existence, “Can I have my country back?”  I don’t like what you’ve done to it and want to rescind your claim to it, your power over it, and your handling of it.

We, the People, want to take over and desire that you step aside and find gainful employment in the workforce like the rest of us.  We ask that you not live a life of luxury by placing the burden of paying for it on the backs of hard-working, tax-paying citizens.  Simply,

We Want Our Country Back! From this day forward, I, as a natural-born legal citizen, will Vote to take it back from your control in every election. If those elected do not honor this request, then in the next election, I will Vote to send you back home, too. I will do that and try to get as many people to join me as possible in every election until those who go to Washington and the State capitals Listen to what we are asking. We want our Country back!

God bless you, and God bless America!
