I Keep Asking, Why?

Why What?   Why is there so much hate in the world today?  It is easily seen, but the actual cause is seldom considered.  In my decades on planet Earth, I have learned that if you do not consider the actual source, you rarely find a cure.

I grew up in the 50s and 60s and witnessed a lot of hatred, bigotry, and prejudice.  It wasn’t all just from the White Race toward the Blacks and other ethnic groups but was pretty equally distributed by all sides.  There was distrust and an inbred sense of difference that often produced hatred and evoked attitudes and actions far from godly.

I became a Christian after serving in combat in Vietnam.  Through that transformation by the Spirit of God and the Love of Christ, I learned to love people whom I had grown up distrusting and even fearing (although fear is not a completely accurate description).

I served in combat with people of different races and ethnicities. I had begun to realize that while we might have different values and backgrounds, we are all human beings who can unite for a common cause and stand as brothers and fellow citizens.  My Christian experience brought about a transformation of attitude that could only be described as divine intervention.

Through the 70s to the 00s, I believed that we were making progress in that arena, and until the election of 2008, I would have argued that we had.   After watching the resurrection of racial strife and hatred during that election cycle heavily encouraged by Barack Obama and those supporting him (not to excuse any on the other side that exhibited the same spirit), I realized that we had regressed to a point that ensured tension and offered the potential for a full-scale uprising that could lead to a terrible place in America.

My heart was heavy then and is now over what I see and how many on both sides of the political and ideological aisles have not only allowed but also encouraged and participated in dividing the races, genders, and so-called classes of people for political purposes.  I have even seen those of the church become swept up by the wave of animosity and hatred, rendering their testimonies virtually null and void.  It has broken my heart!

If you are willing to work, love this nation, support the rule of law, and embrace a sense of morality that distinguishes right from wrong, I will stand shoulder to shoulder with you in the struggle, whatever that may be.   Your skin color does not matter to me.

I have experienced racial discrimination and hatred firsthand and know how terrible it feels, and if, for no other reason, I would not participate in it toward another of my fellow man.  I believe the directive of the apostle Paul that “if a person WOULD NOT WORK, then he/she should not eat.”  Notice I emphasized a particular portion of that.  I did not say “could not” or “could not find,” but I said WOULD NOT WORK!

Any person, regardless of skin color, who is a professional parasite should be recognized as such and responded to in a biblical fashion.  Love them?  Certainly!  Allow them to continue as a parasite and made to feel good about it – NEVER!

I hear some nationally known “preachers,” “politicians,” and “entertainers” utter such racist statements with impunity.  I am amazed that they are not taken to task by not only those within their own races, social, and professional groups.   It became chic to label those who criticized the policies and politics of Barack Obama as racist.   But if he or those on the left uttered racist things that were acceptable, justifiable, and defendable.  I do not understand that I do not agree with or accept that.  Right is right, and wrong is wrong, no matter where it comes from.

We have an enormous amount of hatred in this world, and the flames are being fanned by the entertainment community, the politicians, the media representatives, and even some in the clergy.   It is time that we all stood up and say Enough!   Some politicians, clergy, and professionals that I have the most respect and admiration for are of a different race or skin color than mine.

I do not like using the term different race because we are all supposed to be members of the Human Race.   If we are in Christ, there are no racial distinctions.  But, realizing that not all are followers of Christ who love this nation, I won’t press that issue.

However, if you support the Constitution of the United States of America, are a true patriot, and desire to see “liberty and justice for all,” then I stand with you and accept you.  I do not care about your ethnicity.  I do not care about your education.  I do not care about your social or economic status.  I care about you and this nation.  So, let’s all stand against the attempts to divide our nation and world and stand for Liberty!  We can change this climate, but it will not be easy, and it will not be quick.

The answer is a return to God and a change in the human heart (soul of man).   Without a change in the heart (attitude, moral condition, and assuming personal responsibility), we will never resolve the issue of hate!

As we move toward that objective of a Restored Constitutional Republic and a Return to God and our Moral Moorings, I pray that God bless and protect you and that God preserve this nation!
