THE DIVIDE IS WIDE – Can We Survive?

On Memorial Day 2023, I would like to have written an article on the sacrifices and the value of those sacrifices. However, I feel compelled to write something else. Happy Memorial Day, and Never Ever Forget the Sacrifices or be Thankful!

I do not want to be a Gloom & Doom Prognosticator, but neither do I want to bury my head in the sand or somewhere and ignore the issues prevalent in today’s America and world.  I want to be a realist with an optimistic view because of my faith in God.  I want to be pragmatic and take a practical approach to life’s problems and benefits.

We are a deeply divided people.  Saying that makes me Mr. Obvious to some, but it is a starting place to consider the problems and potential solutions we are facing today.  It is imperative that we admit there is a problem.  Failure to acknowledge the divide and the issues resulting from that condition is to doom us to even greater divisiveness and the fruit of the vitriolic hate that it embodies and advances.

Those exposed to modern propaganda through our educational system, media, Hollywood, entertainment, and failures by the Church to address some basic principles of life are both victims and causes.  I do not want to throw all Millennials and Gen Z-ers under the bus and on the trash heap of life.

Yet, the reality of being a follower of the modern philosophers of WOKISM and Entitlement is being viewed negatively collectively.  I saw a survey of 1,300 managers who opined that 3 out of 4 of the Gen Z crowd are harder to work with than any other group.  Why?  To find a resolution, we have first to determine the reason.   Those managers said that the issues with the Gen Z crowd are so extreme that they have to fire them more often than any other group.  The percentage of companies that agreed was 65.  That is disturbing.

Many in the work world have lamented that poor communication skills are one of the biggest problems with the Gen Z crowd.  If you use run-on unpunctuated sentences, emojis, and acronyms as your base communication, switching gears is difficult if you have another gear.  Many employers affirm that this younger group lacks professionalism and office decorum.  Many have never been exposed to demands for productivity, and dealing with an office hierarchy is beyond their scope of understanding.

Unlike previous generations, this new generation of workers fails to grasp the concept that they are expected to do what they are told in the workplace.  They believe they are entitled to not being offended by anything; for some, work and performance expectations offend them.

To be fair, they are not the only ones, and the problem is growing more pronounced with each passing year of governmental subsistence to buy their support.  If it is more economically beneficial to sit on your gluteus maximus than to work, why work?  Hey, if everybody is supposed to have an equal share of the pie, regardless of investment or work, then why not be difficult?  Demand what you believe to be yours.  It is not to be earned but deserved, so stand your ground, right?  (I am being sarcastic.)

As we enter the next electoral cycle, we are in grave danger of enhancing our own destruction by ignoring some real problems and dangers.  Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President, warned us of the threat of fundamental transformation that politicians and outside influences seek.

He said: “At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected?  I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us.  It cannot come from abroad.  If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher.  As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide.”

One of the gravest dangers to the survivability of the Republic is those within the government who are implementing policies of destruction and shredding our ability to live free.  I do not mean to make this a campaign speech extolling the virtues of a Donald Trump presidency.  However, some things transpired from the outset of his first bid to become the nominee and president.

He had no sooner announced his candidacy than the Democrats, Media, Establishment, and RHINOs went on the attack.  We were told he was a maniacal lunatic that would endanger our American Democracy.  He would plunge us into nuclear war and destroy our economy. (None of which happened.)  What has transpired under the Biden administration has shuddered our economy, divided the nation more along multiple lines, and pushed us nearer nuclear war than we have witnessed in a long time.

Tyranny is a universal threat to any nation.  The despotic tyrants of history have all been ruthless.  They have all sought to strip the citizens of all rights and subjugate them to subservience.  They sought to strip them of any reasonable ability to defend themselves and advance their pursuit of a better life.  They have all sought to destroy religious liberty and evict God from the public square.  Censorship was the norm, not the exception.

Love or hate him, Donald Trump did not seek to destroy our religious liberty.  He sought to protect it, unlike the current administration.  Our economy was the most robust in decades; it has gone into the proverbial tank in less than two years.  He sought to put America and the interest of the American people before that of other nations, the exact opposite of this administration.

We witnessed the restoration of America’s position of influence in the world, and our enemies once again feared us and tempered their aggressions.  Today, that has vanished, and like the Obama administration’s legacy, we are no longer feared but often the laughingstock of the nations.  Paper tigers are never feared nor respected.  We must, once again, be willing to speak softly and carry a big stick.  If we allow the drift or push toward tyranny and globalism, we will see our greatest fear come to fruition, and the desired fundamental transformation will transpire.

However, I refuse to be that negative and focus solely on what is wrong.  I choose to place my trust and confidence in God and the God-fearing of the American people.  I choose to cling to the hope that America’s patriots and those who love freedom and believe in the Republic’s Constitutional authority will overcome their personal biases and unite to see restoration.  Without a miracle of God, it will not transpire in one election or possibly ten, but it can become a reality, and there remains hope in my heart.

We have outside threats, but they pale compared to those from within.  However, those within who are linked to the Chicoms are vigorously working as enablers of a foreign takeover of dominance.  We always have choices, and choices have consequences or benefits.

America, it is time for those of us who are believers in God, the Bible, and followers of Jesus Christ to embrace and implement the directive and solution found in 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.  We must humble ourselves before we are humiliated and humbled by outside forces.  We must pray intercessory prayers, realizing that we are talking about life or death nationally and maybe personally.  We must become seekers of God, giving our total allegiance to Him, and acknowledging our need for Him.  We must reject and turn from evil individually and nationally.

God’s promise is to help us, pouring in the healing balm that is desperately needed. He promised to forgive our failures (sins) and heal us and our land.  He promised to keep His watchful eye on us and, as Psalm 91 declares, provide us with the protection we need.  I ask that you join me and the millions of people who are so inclined.  It is, effectively, in our hands.  We need divine help, not political wrangling!

God bless you, and God bless America is my prayer!
