Why Am I Weeping for America?

I am writing to express my views regarding the State of our Union in the United States of America in 2025.    You may or may not agree, and that is certainly your right, for as I said, this is my opinion and nothing more.   It is based on things I see spiritually, socially, emotionally, economically, and politically.

Over the past few days, weeks, and months, I have spent a significant amount of time praying and thinking about the condition of our nation, the church, and our world.   Out of that time, with everything I’ve seen and heard up to this point, come these thoughts.

I Fear For My Nation:

I see America as being more divided racially and engaged in class envy and class warfare than I have ever seen, including the 50s and 60s.  I lay the bulk of the blame for that at the feet of former President Barack Obama, the Biden administration, the elected Democrats, the media, Hollywood, and some religious leaders (albeit not necessarily Christian leaders as I would understand Christian).

There is real hate in this nation that is growing dangerously close to boiling over.  When I hear Hollywood stars, music stars, clergy, and even politicians express a good feeling about seeing “white people” being or needing to be killed, it sends chills down my spine.  I know that kind of hatred can only lead to incredible violence, something I would hope none of us truly want.

I saw the former President take actions that were detrimental to our Republic, weaken our national security, and attempt to subvert the plans of the new President.  I watched with horror Barack Obama’s expressed desire and actions to reduce the size of our military and our capability to suppress attacks on multiple fronts.  He claimed that America’s military might was one of the causes of unrest in the world.

Sadly, as he acted, our adversaries increased their militaries and applauded the move on the part of the United States.   Even the outgoing Secretary of Defense from the Bush administration contended that that type of move would relegate the United States to a second-rate status.  We would no longer be the pinnacle of military defense. We had a brief respite under Trump’s first term, and then came Joe Biden and Dejavu.

Our adversaries urged us to continue down that path of Obama.   Russia and China expanded their military at an alarming rate, increasing the percentage of their GDP for defense, and are dangerously close to surpassing us militarily.   History has proven that the best way to keep peace is by demonstrating power, and we have been rapidly moving away from being a nation of power militarily.  That ideology can be seen in the actions of both Obama and Biden.

Over the past few years, we have witnessed governmental actions punishing success and rewarding lack of initiative.  They engaged in a form of redistribution of wealth.   That has been an expressed desire of the Leftists for some time.    They contend that it is necessary to achieve a “level playing field” and “fairness.”

I must ask, “Is it Fairness” to take from those who have worked for it and give it to those who are not working?

  • Is a level playing field destroying initiative and willingness to take risks in order to reap the reward of success?
  • Is a level playing field reducing the vast majority of the population to mindless followers rather than innovative leaders in the various phases and fields of private industry, including medicine, manufacturing, engineering, etc.?
  • Is a level playing field having the government viewed as the source of our sustenance and the entity through which all progress and innovation comes?
  • Is a level playing field removing from our educational training the motivation and encouragement to engage in critical thinking” and “analytical analysis”?

Our nation is rapidly moving from a “free enterprise system” to one that far more closely resembles a socialistic system” than I am comfortable with.   I am hopeful that the Trump administration will rectify that and move us back toward fiscal, social, moral, and military soundness.

I see the almost incessant efforts to have “gun control” as a precursor to a “total gun ban.”   I believe that is the genuine desire of the Left.  It is the objective for all who argue that the 2nd Amendment does not and should not include the right to possess firearms that are the “so-called” assault weapons is ludicrous.

Think about our Founding Fathers and the struggle they had gone through.   Do you think for one minute that had they known of those “so-called” assault rifles, they would have banned them?   They had just won a hard-fought victory over a tyrannical government.  The British Crown was in the process of confiscating all their firearms as the war began.

Our Founders feared that the new government they were establishing could one day become tyrannical. They expressed concern that it would become so large and intrusive that it would be incumbent upon the citizenry to resist.

In that light, they would most assuredly not have banned the citizens from having firearms that would adequately enable them to resist.  Argue all you want, but the facts will not support your argument that they would have banned semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines.  It is my profound conviction they would not!

In a time when the vast majority of people fear that the government is too intrusive in our lives and will become even more so, there is great reason to defend and protect our 2nd Amendment Rights carefully.

I see a nation that has systematically moved from the “fear of God” and the “love of God” to being a society that wants to become so all-inclusive that God is banned from our public institutions, and the Bible’s influence is rejected in our government.   That is precisely the opposite of the mindset of the Founding Fathers and the colonists before, during, and after the Revolutionary War.

Everything they wrote, spoke and included in our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and laws reflected the heavy influence of the Bible and a great reverence for God Himself. Yet we have heard repeatedly from the Obama administration and the Biden administration that America “is no longer a Christian nation.”

Yes, I weep for my nation because I fear that we are dreadfully near the time when the “Cup of God’s Wrath” will become full, and His severe and swift judgment will fall on this nation and this world.

  • I weep because we have drifted so far from that Constitutional Republican Democracy that the Founding Fathers established.
  • I weep because there is so much division and hatred among the citizens of this nation.

America has been hated for generations, but even those who hated her respected our power and willingness to stand for freedom and liberty. They may not have agreed and desired to see us fall, but they respected our ability and position in the world. Under the Biden and Obama administrations, that was no longer true.  I am prayerful that we can rectify the damage.

We are now hated and disrespected and certainly not feared.   Osama bin Laden declared that America was a “paper tiger” both before and after 9/11.   We finally got him, but ten others are taking his place, and he has become a martyr in the eyes of those of his ilk who desire our downfall. We have been playing into their hands under the leftist’s policies and ideology.

America, I weep for you and pray for you.  May God grant us time to repent and return!
