Today, I will not be posting my regular style of posts, but will offer a couple of poems that I wrote reflecting on Thanksgiving! I hope this day is a great day for you!
Thanksgiving Misnomers
Thanksgiving 2025
I am more thankful than ever before.
Do I have the answer to all the questions about which I am concerned?
No, but I trust in the Promises of God, which I have learned.
Is there darkness in the world today?
Yes, possibly more than any other day.
Sometimes, Thanksgiving misnomers, I hear.
Each time, it brings to my eyes a tear.
The incompatibility is off the chart.
Thankfulness, Worry, and Fear cannot live in the same heart.
When human reason takes the stage,
War against truth begins to rage.
Fretful but Thankful, Worried but Thankful
It is like saying the tub is empty but full.
Fretfulness is not Trust; it is fear.
Worry pushes Faith to the rear.
Trust is to completely rely.
It gives reason to hope that does human reason defy.
Philippians 4 gives us the key.
A clear pathway to victory.
Be anxious for nothing it does say.
Be thankful in everything every day.
It is not to be thankful FOR everything,
But to be thankful IN everything.
Thanksgiving 2025
Gives me more hope than ever before.
I know Jesus’ coming is drawing near.
He is the reason I live without fear.
No worry or fear can live in me,
For Jesus has from them set me free.
No more Thanksgiving Misnomers will I allow.
No more in worry the furrowing of the brow.
No more worry, fret, or fear.
The promises of Jesus we hold near.
I will never leave you is His decree.
From those Thanksgiving misnomers, I am set free!

Thanksgiving 2025
It is said that I am in my sunset years.
I have traveled many roads and shed an ocean of tears.
I have known exquisite joy and extreme sorrow.
But I live each day expecting another tomorrow.
I have an anchor upon whom I depend.
His love and mercy are without end.
What do I have that I can give?
As I pursue this life, God has given me to live.
I have little of this world’s treasure.
But I have something its worth is beyond measure.
It is not earthly treasure: fortune or fame.
It is a person, and He has a name.
I cannot give you silver or gold.
I cannot keep you from growing old.
I cannot shield you from life’s pain.
I cannot; success cause you to attain.
But what I have, I give to thee,
The Name above all Names that will set you free.
This Thanksgiving 2025
I share what I have with everyone for free.
Without price, it was given to me.
From the bondage of sin, it did set me free.
In the Name of Jesus, I decree,
Healing and Peace, you will see, this Thanksgiving 2025
.
