THE GOD PROBLEM IN POLITICS…

One of the two major political parties in America is on the record of having a God problem or a problem with God in the public square.  In the Democratic presidential debates, we are witnessing the culmination of what has been observed in years past regarding the view of religious freedom in America.  Those hoping to receive their party’s nomination for president could have and should have expressed support for religious freedom in America.  They have had ample opportunity to do so, but at this juncture, they have not.

It is my view and the view of many Americans that both major political parties should consider religious freedom a principle to be protected and defended.  One Florida Democrat has publicly declared that any person who votes for Trump cannot call themselves a Christian.  David French argues that the only reason Evangelicals support Trump is out of fear.  He argues that Evangelicals think that Trump is their source of protection for religious freedoms.  He argues that position is cowardly and repulsive.  You may agree, but I adamantly disagree.

I do not believe that Evangelical Christians are dependent upon Trump to protect our freedoms per se.  I believe that most see a very real enemy and a threat to our religious liberties, 2nd Amendment rights, and other liberties threatened by the toxic advancement of liberalism.  We see the invasion of evil on many fronts and view Trump as a breath of fresh air giving us a courageous president willing to stand with us against this onslaught.

What Mr. French calls fear is a united effort to fight the destruction of our freedoms.  We are not blind to Trump’s flaws nor are we blind to the dangers of the agenda of the Democrats.  Therefore, we support the person who supports our fight for freedom.

When failed candidates like Robert Frances O’Rourke are willing to declare their intent to use the IRS against Christians and religious organizations that oppose same-sex marriages that identifies a God problem.  When the 2016 National Democratic Convention would erupt in a chorus of boos when the words “God-given” was used, that expresses a God problem.  When the Democratic Party advances the view that they consider the ‘religiously unaffiliated’ as their largest religious group, that suggests a God problem.

American Founders such as Thomas Jefferson contended that the American constitution must provide the right for every citizen to live according to his own beliefs.  They recognized, as should we, that the government if given opportunity would invade the private space of citizens and stand between a man and his God.  They understood that there was a very real danger of the government attempting to coerce man to violate his own conscience and bow to the ideological sentiment pervasive at any given time.  They wanted to ensure that each of us had our religious liberty protected and provided the Bill of Rights to provide that guarantee.

America was founded with a view of God’s providence and on the day before signing the Constitution, John Adams wrote his wife Abigail.  The first paragraph on the third page of the letter said, “I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the greatest anniversary festival.  It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by the solemn acts of God Almighty.”

In his closing, he said, “You will think me transported with enthusiasm, but I am not.  I am aware of the toil and blood and treasures that it will cost us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States.  Yet through all the Gloom, I can see rays of ravishing light and glory.  I can see the end is more than worth all the means.  And that posterity will triumph in the day’s transaction, even [although] we should rue it, which I trust in God we shall not.”

Moral relativism has become pervasive in the Democratic Party and too evident in our society in modern America.  The devil has never ceased in his attempt to convince man that he can be like God or be god himself.  What is moral relativism?  A simplistic definition is: “The belief that ethical standards, morality, and position of right or wrong are subject to a person’s individual choice.  We can all decide what is right or wrong for ourselves.”  That eliminates moral absolutes and plunges us into the abyss of relativism and societal declension.  It may sound good and tolerant, but it is a dangerous pathway that can only end in the destruction of society as a whole.

Billy Graham was right when he said, “The nature of God never changes.” Men change, societies change, and worldviews change but God is unchanging and eternally the same.  (Malachi 3:6).  Moral relativism allows for some incredibly immoral behavior which is deemed as acceptable and even normal.

If we are our own god and decide what is right and wrong, surely, we can see the potential dangers of that view.  Some argue, that white lies hurt no one and it is okay to lie so long as what we do does not actually hurt another.  They also argue, that so long as it is between two consenting adults it is okay.  That is to ignore the clear teachings of the Bible and blur the lines of morality to the point that every person does what is right in their own eyes and selfishness and self-centeredness becomes our moral compass.

The God problem of the Democrats is one of the reasons I cannot support their Party.  I am concerned that this continued plunge into depravity will result in judgment falling on our nation.  People today are so driven by hate they no longer use reason and refuse to acknowledge any truth but their own truth.  In my fifty-plus years of studying the Bible, I cannot ignore the reality that God sometimes allows a season of grace and mercy before judgment.  I fear that our present pathway in America is leading to some incredibly dark times in our future.

The idea being presented by some national ministers that the Bible is open to interpretation has grown in the past few decades.  I suggest that the Bible is and isn’t open to interpretation. It is the inspired Word of God and was written under the direction of the Holy Spirit.  If the open interpretation view is embraced and practiced in all of society, we would have utter chaos.  There would be no definitive right and wrong and no moral compass by which we could navigate the troubled waters of life.

A military office that gives an order expects that order to be carried out explicitly.  If we adopt the view of private interpretation private property would be endangered because if a person believes they have a right to what is yours or mine, they would have no qualms about attempting to take it.  Employees are not given the option of interpreting corporate edicts.  If the rules and guidelines of the parents are open to interpretation the family unit would plunge into total anarchy.

We have allowed the murder of millions of unborn babies and called that a woman’s right to choose and made it about women’s health.  We have allowed the destruction of the home and two-parent families with a man and woman.  We have allowed the view to becoming pervasive that God blew it when He created male and female and put some of us in the wrong bodies.  If urges are allowed to rule and passions not kept in check by some moral absolutes then no child, man or woman is safe.

I oppose the Democrats on a national platform because they have abandoned everything I believe in and everything that made America the Free Republic it has been and is.  You can disagree and that is your right.  I will vote to protect America and our American Freedoms.  You vote as you deem best, but please consider what is being advanced before you make your choice and choose wisely.

God bless you and God bless America!

SCIENCE AND THE BIBLE…

Today being Christmas Eve left me wondering, should I post or not post today? After prayer I decided that this was what I was to write, so I offer these thoughts and pray they will resonate with you. I also want to wish you a Happy Christmas Eve and a very Merry Christmas!

Today my objective is to incorporate a consideration of science and the Bible in a Christmas themed presentation.  I have long been amazed at the incredible revelations found in the Bible in ancient times and how that hundreds if not thousands of years later scientists discovered they were factual realities and medically sound techniques.  If I had no other reason to believe the Bible is the Word of God that would be enough, but I have more, much more.

I hear some, even preachers contend that the Bible ‘contains’ the Word of God but is not the Word of God.  I find that objectionable and that would relegate the Bible to the status of just another book of philosophy and not a guide for ‘faith or practice’.  It would require me to abandon my confidence that God is unchanging and His Promises, as revealed in the Bible are reliable or dependable.  That would be a terrible place and one that would produce an untenable gospel.  How could I trust the declaration of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead?  How could I trust that God will forgive every sin upon repentance?  How could I believe the words of Jesus in John 14 that He is preparing a place for us and coming back?

You may wonder, how this has anything to do with what is happening in today’s world, socially, politically, governmentally, etc.  It has everything to do with it?  If we do not have a reliable Bible that “is” the Word of God, a God who is unchanging, then we have no absolutes.  We would become laws unto ourselves and the result would be anarchy and chaos.  There would be no constraints on society for civility and each person would become their own center of the universe.

Science is in a continual state of flux.  In the realm of medical science, no doctor that has practiced medicine for any length of time practices the same as they began.  New discoveries make that implausible and impractical.  As new techniques and discoveries emerge doctors change their approach and treatment.  Thank God they do!  However, I contend that the Word of God never changes, and God never changes.

There are many examples in the Bible of scientific truths being revealed long before scientists recognized and proved those realities.  In Isaiah 40:22 – “He (God) sits enthroned above the circle of the earth…”  Imagine that, the Bible declared that the earth was round over 1100 years before Columbus and 350 years before Aristotle first argued that the earth must be round, not flat.

How about Job, who lived over 4,000 years ago.  He recorded God’s question found in Job 38:16 – “Have you entered into the springs of the sea…”  Wow!  The existence of springs in the ocean was not discovered until 1977 almost 4,000 years later.  The last half of that verse states: “…or have you walked in the recesses of the sea?”  Amazing!  Those recesses were not discovered until 1873 almost 3,900 years after Job declared it.

I am reminded of Matthew Fontaine Murray a Naval Sea Captain who discovered the ‘paths of the sea’.  He was a navigator and discovered that vital navigational information did not exist for sailing many waters.  His quest was spurred by the Bible. He was quite ill and asked his daughter to read the Bible to him.  She began reading Psalm 8 and in the eighth verse read, “whosoever walked through the paths of the sea.”  He stopped her and had her repeat it.  Then he said, “The paths of the sea, the paths of the sea.  If God says there are paths in the sea, if I ever get will I will find them.”

He was also inspired by Ecclesiastes 1:6 – “The wind blows to the south and goes around to the north; around and around goes the wind, and on its circuits, the wind returns.”  He determined that based on that declaration it was logical to believe that in certain places the wind would blow predominately from one direction and that knowledge would be of infinite value to sailing ships.

We dare not omit the directions that God gave Moses regarding sanitary conditions, medical procedures, and treatment.  Through Moses the value of quarantine.  It was not until the 14th century that the practice was embraced.  The ports in Venice and Genoa first refused immigrants who might be carriers or infected with the Bubonic plague.  Even in the 17th and 18th centuries leprosy spread over southern Europe until the practices of Moses in the Bible were enacted.  Moses disinfected the patient’s clothing, bed, and house.  The leper was required to wear a covering up to his upper lip and was quarantined on certain occasions.

The health and hygiene of the Israelites in the wilderness enabled them to survive.  They adopted practices that were not universally embraced and look remarkably like modern practices.  Dr. M.R. DeHaan, who received his M.D. from the University of Illinois Medical School practiced medicine and later became a preacher.  He offered a vital view of science and the Bible especially through Israel in the wilderness.

Dr. DeHaan wrote: “We ask the question since Moses was educated in all these [Egyptian] superstitions and primitive practices, how does it happen that he does not teach or recommend these remedies in his writings? Although he deals in detail and great length with diseases, the treatment of infections, leprosy, and running sores, yet the illusions, deceptions, gross errors, and superstitions concerning anatomy, physiology, pathology, and treatment of diseases as taught in the highest schools of learning in Egypt from which Moses was a graduate [Acts 7:22], are never taught or even suggested in the books of Moses. But instead, the instructions Moses laid down for Israel were utterly at variance with the accepted practices of that day, and fully in harmony with modern-day scientific facts.”

Science is confirmed by the Bible rather than the Bible confirmed by science.  Science, or man, has been slow to appreciate, understand, or discover the truths of God’s Word from thousands of years ago.  With each scientific discovery, previously revealed in the Bible, my faith grows stronger.

Thus, I can say on this day, Christmas Eve as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus, I believe it to be a factual reality because I believe the Bible is THE WORD OF GOD!  I have a personal relationship with my Savior and know that my life has been changed through that relationship.  My experience and subsequent years of pursuing Him and His purposes have produced a peace that is beyond my ability to adequately explain.

I do not care what day Jesus was born or even what month.  I believe He was born of a virgin as the Bible declares.  I believe that He lived a sinless life, as the Bible declares.  I believe He died on the Cross for my sins as the Bible declares.  I believe that He rose from the dead and has ascended to the right hand of the Father, just like the Bible says.  I believe that He is preparing a place for me and will come back to take me to my eternal home, just like the Bible declares.  I BELIEVE!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!  The agreement of science with the Bible helps inspire our confidence in God and His Word!  I do not care what your political affiliation or religious affiliation is, God is the answer and He is our Hope!  I pray for each one today and ask that God will grant each a very Joyous Celebration!  May you have health and blessings!

God bless you and God bless America!

CLIMATE SCIENCE? Seriously, You Call That Science?

Once again, I venture into the menacing waters of man-made climate change.  Once again, I state the obvious, facts do not support the conclusions of the alarmist.  Once again, I declare that the scientific data debunk their theories and exposes their hypocritical paranoia.  Man’s effect on the climate is minimal.

If you are still reading and have allowed your blood pressure to recede to a safe level, I will continue.  I believe in being good stewards of the environment.  I love the outdoors, and the many benefits of this planet.  We can do things to clean up the environment and keep our rivers, streams, beaches, cities, and countryside beautiful and usable.  However, we do not have to impede man’s progress and place such restrictions on humans that enjoyment of nature becomes impossible.  That is cutting off our noses to spite our faces and counterproductive.

I do not know if the ‘scientists’ who have jumped on the man-made climate change train are sincere or not.  I do not know if they are trying to find acceptability in their society or if they are simply deceived.  I do not know what motivates them, although I do know that people like Al Gore have become incredibly wealthy advancing this theory.  The man-made climate change agenda is part and parcel of the United Nations Agenda 21 Initiative and seeks ultimate control of all nations and all people.  That alone would make it suspect to me.

Tony Heller has exposed some of the most egregious dishonesty of mainstream environmentalists in his video titled “My Gift to Climate Alarmists.”  Who is Tony Heller?  Let me give a brief view of some of his credentials and then proceed.  He earned a BS in Geology from Arizona State University and a Master’s in electrical engineering at Rice University.  He studied geology at Boston University, computer science at Northern Arizona University, Computer Science at Colorado State University and Geochemistry at the University of New Mexico.  He is a lifelong environmentalist and has fought for clean air and water over his career.

What did Mr. Heller expose?  One of the interesting facts that he revealed was that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has reported that forest fires reached their peak in the 1930’s.  Wait?  They reached their peak?  That would mean they have been declining since, right?  That’s the factual data compiled by our own government.  The climate alarmists conveniently omit that information and use 1980 as the benchmark and insist that we have had increases since and it is due to ‘global warming’ or ‘climate change.’  That is a tad fraudulent, don’t you think?

He also revealed that the claim of ‘climate scientists’ pushing the man-made global warming agenda claim that rising sea levels is the result of this phenomenon that man has caused.  That is scientifically inaccurate, and the empirical data suggests that the sea levels have been rising for 20,000 years.   Many anthropologists believe that when the sea levels were low people were able to walk from Siberia to North America.  Interesting thought.

Hot weather is blamed on man-made climate change but when you examine the statistical evidence, we discover a few omitted revelations that are germane.  The number of days over 90 degrees in Waverly, Ohio was eye-opening.  In 1895 there were 73 days recorded above 90 degrees.  That was 1895, not 1985, just in case you misread it.  In 1936 there were 82 days above 90 degrees.  Since the 1930’s there has been a downward trend in the number of days above 90 degrees.  The climatologists use 1955 as their benchmark for data to be examined.  They do so to show an increase.  They selectively pick the benchmarks for their theories rather than considering all data, they find that which supports their theory and go from there.  That is deciding the outcome you want and manipulate the data to prove it.

One environmental activist (scientist) Ottmar Edenhofer, the lead author of the IPCC’s fourth summary report released in 2007 revealed their agenda in a speech in 2010.  He said, “One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. Instead, climate change policy is about how we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth.”   We know that the U.N.’s climate chief Christiana Figueres revealed that the true aim of the U.N.’s 2014 Paris climate conference was “to change the (capitalist) economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution.”

I do not believe that all the scientists are dishonest, but many are either dishonest or dangerously deceived.  Would it not be appropriate to ask, “If the sea levels have been rising for 20,000 years, why do they insist this is due to man-made global warming?”  That would predate any industrial advancements and mechanization of the past 100 years.  The period they insist is the culprit in ‘climate change.’

Why do those reporting on this issue fail to mention the declarations of Edenhofer, Stewart, and others who want to ‘ride global warming as a means to defeat capitalism and impose socialism or communism on the world?’  Why?  Because this is about Power and Control not about the betterment of the planet or any genuine concern for a problem that is fictional.  It is a tool to manipulate the minds of the non-thinkers and create a paranoia that allows them to strip us of our rights and liberties thinking we must do so to save the planet.  God is still in control, so calm down!

The insanity of the toxic liberalism, the increasing activism, and push toward the imprisonment of humans impeding progress by despotic oligarchies and tyrannies must be exposed.  That is another of the many reasons that I oppose the national Democratic agenda and will vote NO on every Democrat in 2020 and beyond.  My vote is for Freedom!  My vote is for America!  My vote is not for sale!

God bless you and God bless America!

DEBT and DEFICIT ARE A PROBLEM…

From time to time I will have someone blast me over my concern for the national debt and soaring deficit.  I had one fellow conservative tell me, “Not to worry, it’s only paper and not real.”  I’m sorry but somehow having a significant portion of our nation mortgaged and the paper owned by foreign nations, is paper that I am concerned about.  That reality gives them far more influence and leverage than any of us should find comfortable.

I would be pleased to discover that I am wrong, and it is nothing, but an assortment of number positioned strategically on paper and meaningless in the overall scheme of things.  However, I do not believe that day will ever present itself, and it is a matter deserving of serious concern.

Our national debt of $23 Trillion is beyond my ability to relate.  It has been projected to grow by 150% in the coming years.  Most members of various financial think tanks all agree it is a problem, but there is no consensus as to how to resolve the issue.  In fact, most of the proposals that filter out of those consortiums of wisdom are unrealistic and frequently terribly misleading.  That too is cause for concern.

I had one well-meaning person tell me that this was easily solvable by simply printing more money and paying off the debt.  That is a pathway to hyperinflation and a total stagnation of our economy.  It is also a means to cause every nation in the world to look the other way and ignore any requests we have for borrowing money.  Who would lend money to a nation that attempts to shaft them by printing money thereby devaluing the worth of that money and leaving them on the short end of the financial stick?  Would you?

The only possible pathway to fiscal stability and making any serious indentation in the national debt would require some very austere measures.   There is no current politician or previous politician willing to advance those measures because it would mean the end of their political careers.  We all know that their careers are far more important than ‘fixing any problems’ in America.  We are secondary to their political ambitions and that is a major part of the problem.

Sweden and Switzerland have taken some drastic measures to rectify their financial woes.  America would be required to reduce debt as a share of the national income by about 60%.  What politician or voter would allow that drastic measure to see the light of day?  The tightening of the belt would be so severe that many, now on the government dole, would be cut off cold-turkey and that is not going to happen.  It would affect those of us on Social Security as well and that is not a palatable pathway for millions of struggling Americans dependent on their SS checks.

America’s threat of insolvency is very real.  There are those on the Left who are hoping for an economic meltdown to defeat Donald Trump.  What could they be thinking?  Is defeating or destroying him worth destroying the country?

With the current push of the Democrats toward Socialism and away from Free Market Capitalism, it seems that many do not realize how economic stability occurs.  Maybe that is because they too believe that it is simply paper, and we can print our way to solvency.  We can neither print our way to solvency or borrow our way to prosperity.  Both have exacerbated our current problem and like it or not, we are facing some austere times in which we will deal with the debt, or be destroyed by its weight.

The Keynesian economists have seduced many politicians into the belief that they should love debt and not fear it.  Hopefully, we will find the courage to begin seriously dealing with the matter before we fall over the proverbial financial cliff and plunge into the abyss of financial chaos and darkness.

Our own Federal Reserve Chairman has declared, “The federal budget is on an unsustainable path with high and rising debt.”  I don’t care if it is a Republican or a Democrat driving the fiscal bus, this must be addressed.  The almost $1 Trillion deficit of 2019 is totally unacceptable and is a dangerous act of ignoring the problem.  The debt began to grow exponentially under George W. Bush, exploded under Barack Obama, and now appears totally out of control.  It now appears that even if we elected a very fiscally conservative president this beast is on the loose and unstoppable.

We are facing a fiscal Day of Reckoning!   There will come a time when we will be required to pay the piper.  Will that be our generation, that of our children, or grandchildren?  I suspect it will be our grandchildren, and the incredible burden and dark future we are leaving for them is unforgivable.

It is no wonder that there are Millennials and Gen Z’s who are leaving work for mental health issues and becoming suicidal.  What would we expect with the incessant ‘doom and gloom’ of the Climate Change Activist, the staggering national debt, and other issues?

The 24/7/365 attack on the current president deeming him to be Lucifer incarnate and the most dangerous and deranged man on the planet opens the door to a mindset that produces a failed society.  Chaos, anarchy, and total surrender to the paranoia and fear are in the cauldron of destruction the Left has been brewing in today’s world.

Our present economy is encouraging, and we should all be praying for the continued growth in the GDP.  However, that growth needs to be coupled with a systematic plan to reduce spending.  The management of our elected officials reminds me of a person who gets a $100 raise and on the strength of that raise incurs 5 times that amount in debt.  A fiscally responsible position would be to take a significant portion of that raise to pay down current debt and invest the rest.  That is not the path of most people and assuredly not in the mentality of our politicians.

Alexis de Tocqueville warned of a condition that would destroy America if it were to transpire.  He said, “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public’s money.”  That day arrived and has been with us for decades.  That is another reason to not allow politicians to serve decades in Washington.  The longer they stay in power the more susceptible they are to corruption, the influence and appeal of money, position, and power.  America will not survive unless ‘we the people’ take back oversight of our government and hold politicians of all stripes accountable.

I am concerned and as we enter the Holiday Season, I am more keenly aware of debt, deficit, and spending.  Each of us, individually, need to take the necessary steps to trim our budgets.  Each of us as members of the republic needs to demand our politicians do the same thing with our federal tax dollars.

God bless you and God bless America!

AMERICA’S MORAL COMPASS…

The real question is not if America has a moral compass but what happened to it?  No, I do not think slavery is, was, or will ever be moral.  No, I do not think genocide is, was, or ever will be moral.  Likewise, I do not think that practicing abominable practices are moral, right, or acceptable.  I do not believe that abandoning God and our moral moorings regarding the family, lasciviousness, greed, envy, hate, and love are acceptable.  I believe God placed within each heart a compass to help us navigate the troubled waters of life.  That moral compass, more than any law, stems from evil and evil activities.

However, it is apropos to insert the oft-cited quote of James Madison, “If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and the next place, oblige it to control itself.”  Men are not angels therefore, laws are required, and it is mandatory that society polices itself.

Someone asked, “It is possible for a modern liberal to have a moral compass?”  Before you automatically say, NO I ask that you pause and realize that anything is possible.  The legitimate and complete answer is YES and NO, depending on the person, situation, and definition of ‘moral’.   Like Bill Clinton, “It depends on what your definition of is, is.”

If a person believes that there is a moral standard based upon something other than man’s own creations and concoctions, the answer is YES, it is possible.  Any moral system that believes in something greater than one’s self opens the door for a moral compass to exist and be exhibited.

All moral systems are not equal, and some are infinitely better than others, in my view.  All roads do not lead to Rome or Heaven.  I am a Christian and believe that the Bible’s guide for faith and practice is the best of all moral systems.  I believe that tolerance is good and a worthy pursuit so long as it does not require me to abandon my faith and Bible-based convictions.  At that point, I shun it and although I defend their right to believe what they believe, I will have no part of it and will stand against it.

Many liberals today do not seem to have a moral compass and are by nature evolutionary in their thinking and standards.  They do not believe in absolutes morally and inflexible truth.  They appear to have adopted the belief that humans, over time, and perfect themselves through their own efforts.  Their moral compass appears to be any compass that points toward the latest ideological perception of improvement.

When I was in my 30’s and 40’s I thought that most liberals believed in women’s rights.  My view of their position shifted when I witnessed their gravitation toward pandering to the transgenders movement and Islam.  My view has significantly changed now that liberals, almost unanimously, defend men who identify as women being allowed to participate in women’s sports.  They call that tolerance and demand that we all abandon our views and bow at the shrine of liberal thought.  Sorry, but the thing inside my cranium is called a brain for a reason and with it, I can think.  Thinking allows me to see the fallacy of their argument and demands that I resist.

The liberal ideology that has become toxic over the past few decades has embraced political correctness to the degree that any disagreement is branded with a salacious expletive.

Islam has a doctrine in their holy book called ‘taqiyya’.  According to sharia, in certain situations, they are allowed and even directed to engage in deception. They are allowed to lie and pretend to be followers of legitimate local law but secretly continue to work for the advancement of their ideology.  The liberals, at least in Washington, seem to be of the same mind.  It often appears that they have an unwritten agreement that allows them, under the protection of their Party, to lie to the American people in order to advance their cause and agenda.  Is that moral?  Not in my view, but then I believe the Bible’s edict to be truthful.

The atheist biologist Richard Dawkins concocted the novel theory, which he called the evolutionary benefits of homosexuality.  He argued that the benefits had to exist because homosexuality existed.  He called that scientific proof.  No that is opinion, not science.  The liberal appears to root their values on whatever is deemed fashionably righteous in modern society.

Have we forgotten that in the early portion of the 20th century the liberals embraced eugenics and forced sterilization?  Today they have evolved into proponents of androgyny and political censorship.  What’s the next morally acceptable thing for them?  Could it be pedophilia or concentration camps with forced indoctrination of the non-liberal?  They have abandoned the Bible as a basis for morality and reinterpreted the Bible to embrace whatever trend they deem approved and acceptable.  Preachers have been seduced and coerced into abandoning the Bible in a quest for acceptance.  What has happened to America’s moral compass?

I believe in absolutes, especially when it comes to moral values.  I believe the Bible and that is my basis for my core convictions in all matters.  I do not embrace moral relativity or situational ethics.  I do believe that all men are created equal in the sense that we can all have God’s forgiveness and have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  All of us are not equal in gifts, talents, abilities, or even intelligence.  We are equal in the sense that we are created in God’s image and have the capacity to receive His grace and goodness.  Orwell said in Animal Farm: “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.”

Modern liberal thought seems to be that morality is whatever is presented and promoted by their ideological guides.  They appear to hold the view that all humans have moral sentiment and that defines a ‘moral compass.’  To them, it is a compass because it points to whatever nearby liberal magnet idea is presented.  They fail to realize that the magnet is detrimental to civil society and anathema to the teachings of biblical moral purity.  To them, a compass is a compass even if it does not produce the betterment of people or alleviate suffering or produce unity and civility.  Their compass or basic ideological position seems to be, “My way or the highway” and “The End Justifies the Means.”

I continue to pray for America, my beloved nation, to regain her moral compass as a people and as individuals.  I pray for God’s mercy and forgiveness for our drift and shift from our founding principles and His biblical directives.  You can agree or disagree with my assessment, but it is mine and I stand by it.

God bless you and God bless America!

AMERICA, THIS IS MY PLEA IN 2020…

I, along with millions of other God-fearing, Freedom-loving Americans, am concerned about the state and future of our Republic.  No, I did not say our Democracy because that is not what we are, but our Republic.  Yes, we have a form of Representative Democracy but are not a Grecian Style Majority Rule Democracy as many suppose.  Those facts are embodied in our system of government, our Constitution, and our history.  Sadly, too many, including some who teach in our institutions of higher learning are apparently unaware of those facts.

Before Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of these United States the Left called for his impeachment.  Maxine Waters wanted him impeached because he called Hillary, “Crooked Hillary.”  How dare him use that kind of derogatory language toward a member of the fairer sex and a Democrat.  That, in her mind, was inexcusable and clear evidence that he was the epitome of evil and must be eliminated.  She was not alone and ignored the realities that disparaging epithets were launched from both candidates and others during the campaign cycle.  That is not unusual in presidential elections but the reaction of the Democrats to a Republican pushing back has been incredibly revealing.

It was 19 short minutes after Trump was sworn in that the Washington Post announced, “The Campaign to Impeach President Trump Has Begun.”  Wow!  What took them so long?  That effort has been nonstop for over three years and the 24/7/365 barrage of innuendo and allegations have flooded the airwaves.

The Russian collusion collapsed because to all full exposure of what transpired would be to indict Hillary and the Democrats and they could not risk that.  New allegation after new allegation has arisen and each of Trump’s associates and appointees has been treated with less civility than a mass-murdering pedophile terrorist cannibal human sacrificing devil worshipper.  It has been treacherous for those supporting the president.

The Democrats are poised to continue their objective although some of the Democrats desire to shifting from impeachment to recall or censorship of the president, continue they will.  The Constitution demands that impeachment be for ‘treason, bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.’  They have no verifiable evidence of quid pro quo, bribery, treason, or endangering America in any of the president’s actions.  Even in the Ukraine phone call, the Ukrainian president has insisted there was zero quid pro quo.  The witnesses produced by Shifty Schiff have been hearsay, opinion, dislike but nothing factual or verifiable.  It has been a political campaign effort paid for by you and me, the American taxpayers.

Our first president George Washington and our founders feared the auto-renewal policy of present-day politicians.  They gave repeated warnings against allowing those in power to co-opt the political process and use federal money for their personal purposes.  They would be appalled at the use of special interest money, playing on incumbency and name recognition, and the ultra-partisanship engaged in today.  They did not believe that elective positions should be ‘life-time appointments’ but ‘temporary engagements’ in public service.  Today, we have a political class and the members have never held jobs outside of the political arena.  That needs to change and change swiftly.

Voting all the corrupt members of Congress out of office is virtually impossible so fixing this issue may be beyond the realm of possibility.  However, we must somehow seek to regain the views expressed by our first president George Washington.  He said, “The power under the Constitution will always be in the people.  It is entrusted for certain defined purposes, and for a certain limited period, to representatives of their own choosing; and whenever it is executed contrary to their interest, or not agreeable to their wishes, their servants can and undoubtedly will be recalled.”

James Madison concurred as he wrote in Federalist 39: “[T]he popular consent upon which the Constitution’s authority rests was “given by the people, not as individuals composing one entire nation, but as composing the distinct and independent States to which they respectively belong.”  It is imperative that we realize that this is nothing more than a partisan effort to overturn an election that they did not like.  If we fail to resoundingly dismantle their consortium of corruption, we will witness the destruction of our Republic.

The GOP members of the House of Representatives have definitively rebutted the claims of the Democrats on a point by point analysis of the Schiff proceedings.  In their rebuttal, they declared: “The Democrats’ impeachment inquiry is not the organic outgrowth of serious misconduct; it is an orchestrated campaign to upend our political system.  This impeachment inquiry and the way the Democrats are pursuing it sets a dangerous precedent.”  It is true that security assistance was delayed but was ultimately forwarded to Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president has denied any quid pro quo and said: “I never talked to President Trump from the position of quid pro quo.  That’s not my thing, I don’t want us to look like beggars.”  The Democrats have, at this point, engaged in a clearly partisan predetermined course of action where the desired conclusion was formulated and then the investigation to validate that conclusion pursued.

Impeachment is the tool the Democrats are using for settling political scores and re-litigating election results with which they disagreed.  If that is the course for America going forward, our Republic is destroyed and consensual governance we give the elected officials will be irreparably altered.  We will become an oligarchy at best and a despotic socialist tyranny at worst.

America we must begin the process of praying for our nation and our president.  I suggest that we not just pray for him and the Republic but ask God what our role in this is to be.  “Lord, what am I to do?”  Next, we need to study, investigate, examine, vet, and determine the truth as best we can.  Then, we need to articulate those realities to everyone who will listen.  Finally, we must become engaged and, VOTE!

It has been reported that there are over 3.5 million more voters registered than there are qualified voters in America.  That could only mean one thing, the Republicans and the president are behind that many votes before the voting begins.  I am not concerned about Russian interference in our elections, they have always meddled.  I am concerned about systematic and orchestrated voter fraud in America.  It is in our hands to fight this fight to the finish.  If we become complacent, we lose!

God bless you and God bless America!

WHAT KIND OF WORLD DOES THIS?

What kind of world treats animals better and with more sanctity than unborn babies?  What kind of world regards convenience and preference justifications for terminating a pregnancy and snuffing out that life yet to be lived?  What kind of world abandons another human being simply because they do not have the skin color, hair color, eye color, or has a physical deformity?  What kind of world?  Our present world!

Before you protest and scream at me wanting to inflict bodily harm on my person, think about it.  How much do you value your own life?  How much do you value your own convenience?  How much do you value the perception others have of you?  How much? The proof is in the pudding for many because since Roe v Wade we have aborted almost 62 million unborn babies in America.

In America, we spend about $70 Billion on our pets each year.  I am not contending that we should not care for animals, but should we care more for pets than our children, the homeless, the elderly, and our veterans?  I love animals and never want to see one subjected to cruelty.  I also recognize that certain animals are a source of food and given to us to fill that need.  Some will trash me over that and insist that we should be vegan or vegetarian and that it is inhumane to eat the flesh of an animal.  I disagree but if you prefer a carrot to a steak, that’s your choice.

Human life, all human life including the unborn life that is growing in the womb should have no less concern than our pets.  I hear those on the Left howl over conditions of the illegals at the border and insist that we are in violation of basic human dignity and human rights if we do not immediately provide their every need.  That same group has no remorse in sucking a living child out of the womb in a horrendous act, abortion.  That life that was never allowed to see the light of day and experience what each of us enjoys daily is valued less than a broken toy or used gum wrapper.  What kind of world does that?

The move by various states to restrict abortion on demand and the ‘heartbeat laws’ are being called the vilest of names by the pro-choice proponents.  Many, including some previous and current presidential hopefuls, view abortion as a right.  They ignore the rights of that unborn child developing in the womb.  They are strong advocates of caring for animals and will commit acts of violence to save the whales, seals, or any other creature, but not the human baby.  What kind of world does that?

The lies of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry send chills down my spine.  I keep expecting the Hand of God to come down heavily on America as the blood of 60 million babies cries out to Him.

I read a published article by one abortionist, Katha Pollitt in the New Yorker.  Her essay titled, “How the Right to Legal Abortion Changed the Arc of All Women’s Lives.”  If the title does not cause you moral trepidation, then maybe her words will.  She said, “I wonder if women who have never needed to undergo the procedure, and perhaps believe that they never will, realize the many ways that the legal right to abortion has undergirded their lives…Legal abortion means that the law recognizes a woman as a person.  It says that she belongs to herself…A woman could plan her life without having to consider that it could be derailed by a single sperm.”

That is beyond disheartening to this father and grandfather.  Naturally, she avoids what could have been done to avoid the woman’s life being derailed by an unwanted pregnancy.  She does not consider the progress that women have made during the last 100 plus years which has absolutely nothing to do with abortion.  The progress that was won by some real feminists who abhorred abortion.  She focuses on the thought that abortion gives legal status to women and recognizes them as humans.  What about that baby growing in the womb?  How did it suddenly become non-human?  What kind of world thinks this way?

The abortionist and Leftists believe that there is no standing for any opposing view and those of us who object find ourselves branded as worse than deplorable.  Democrat Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) believes that any change to the abortion law is unacceptable.  She suggested that anyone who believes otherwise is “racist, homophobic, or suffering from some other psychological and moral malady.”

Her own words: “I think there’s some issues that have such moral clarity that we have, as a society, decided that the other side is not acceptable…I believe that for all of these issues, they are not issues that there is a fair other side.  There is moral equivalency when you come to racism.  And I do not believe that is moral equivalency when it comes to changing laws that deny women reproductive freedom.”    She envisions herself as a legitimate presidential candidate.  Silence, censure and lock the opposing voices out of the debate.  That’s what we need in a president, right?  What kind of world thinks that way?

It has been documented through most polling data that at least 50% of Americans consider abortion morally wrong.  One of the latest polls produced by NPR/Marist reported that only 18% of Americans support third-trimester abortions.  I am reminded of George Orwell’s observation: “In our time, political speech and writing are largely the defense of the indefensible.  Thus, political language has to consist largely of euphemism.”   Calling abortion reproductive freedom is certainly euphemistic.

Dr. Ingrid Skop, an obstetrician-gynecologist from San Antonio, Texas disagrees with the Senator and those sharing her views of the freedom afforded women.  The doctor wrote that abortions are frequently not freely chosen but are encouraged by outside sources including the sperm donor (sex partner) who threatens to abandon them if the pregnancy is not terminated.

A survey of post-abortive women reported that 58% said they had their abortions in order to ‘make others happy.’  Just over 28% said they had an abortion because they ‘feared their partner would leave them’ if they did not abort the fetus.  One of the most staggering statistics in this report was that 66% of those having an abortion said they knew in their hearts that they were making a mistake when they underwent the abortion.

I am a Christian and I value life, all life.  I am disturbed beyond description when those who cannot defend themselves become the targets of harm and destruction.  Who in our world is more defenseless than that unborn child developing in the womb?  I know some women who have had abortions and none of them are happy or at peace with their choice.  Each of them has suffered deep emotional trauma and some still have difficulty forgiving themselves.  Does that sound like reproductive freedom?  Does that sound like the wonderful Utopian world being suggested is embodied in abortion?  What does the devaluing of human life say about us as a society?

You may disagree with my views, but they are mine.  They are rooted in the value I place on human life and my faith in God.  If you disagree that is between you and God.  I will work to overturn Roe and keep trying to show people the value of human life.  Psalms 139:16 – “Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that they were formed for me when as yet there was none of them.” (ESV).

God bless you and God bless America!

TOLERATING THE INTOLERANT…

I have been sounding the alarm for a very long time about the dangers of forcing of tolerance by the intolerant.  The intolerant politically correct liberal leftists agenda that seeks to force all of us to tolerate and become compliant is intolerable. That assertion has landed me in hot water in some religious circles, many political venues, and with social media.  I have been called everything thing under the sun and accused of advancing hate and faux Christianity.

It is not the name-calling that bothers me, but the lack of awareness of what has become a creeping erosion of our America through political correctness and the increasing dangers of Islamization of our government.  That statement will not play well with the intolerant who demand tolerance nor with social mediums I utilize.  However, if I am allowed, I will give more detail to my argument and explain my concerns.  If at the end of that presentation, you disagree, that is your God-given right and privilege.  We will disagree.

I had a person ask me a few days ago, “How did Islam manage to acquire such a noticeable place of influence in our government?”  That has troubled me for a long time.  It is undeniable that under the Obama administration the followers of Islam were given front of the line access to many government figures and agencies.  We were threatened by Attorney General Loretta Lynch with prosecution if we spoke against Islam and sounded the alarms about their push to achieve sharia law in America.  That was more than a little disturbing.

If we observe what is happening in the world it is difficult not to become aware of the growth of Islamic political clout in Europe and in America.  How did that happen?  One of the paths allowing this growth has been indifference or lack of awareness on the part of politicians and citizens.

The followers of Islam, especially the fundamentalist in that religion or system of government want world domination and they state that for all to hear.  Back in the 1970s, the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre made an enlightening statement.  He said: “As long as Muslims are an insignificant minority in a Christian country, they can live on friendly terms because they accept the laws and customs of the country that receives them.  But as soon as they become numerous and organize, they become aggressive and try to impose their laws, which are hostile to [Western] civilization.”

The West and especially America has a keen awareness of terrorism.  Although there are those in our Republic and government who refuse to acknowledge that much of the terrorist activity is part of Islamic jihad, it is.  Islamic terrorism produces a significant percentage of worldwide terrorist activity.  Ignoring that can prove to be a fatal mistake.

In our quest for tolerance, we have insisted that only the radical Islamist embrace the most fundamental tenets of Islam.  However, if one reads their holy book, it is impossible to note the passages that call for people to convert to Islam or face execution or enslavement.  That religion allows pedophilia, beheading or stoning of those not following their religious tenets or refusing to convert.  That is the height of intolerance and is totally absent of peacefulness and coexistence.

We have focused on ISIS or ISIL, Iran, and other terrorist-sponsoring nations nationally.  Unfortunately, the politicians and people in power are being courted with mountains of cash and other enticements by Islamic nations who are supposedly our allies.  What has that produced?  It has opened a significant door to the ‘Dawa’ (Islamic proselytizing).  The growth of the influence of Islam in many American cities has resulted in Sharia Zones in those cities.  Our American law enforcement no longer patrols those areas and they rule under Islamic law which is a direct violation of our American constitution.

The more members of Congress or government agents embrace Islam the more we will see the demanded tolerance of the intolerant imposed.  It is no secret that the leaders of the pursuit of worldwide ‘Dawa’ and pursuit of world dominance encourage the use of the electoral process to advance their cause.  Congresswoman Ilhan Omar demanded before being sworn in that Congress reveres its 181-year ban on the wearing of any headgear.  She was able to wear her hijab which is religious attire, but other members of Congress are forbidden to display a cross on the floor of Congress.

Islamists have infiltrated our Western Education Systems and some of our American schools have courses favorable to the teachings of Islam but ban all references to the Bible and Christianity.  The result of that is our youth are so indoctrinated with the PC demand for tolerance they consider allowing sharia-based lifestyles as acceptable.  We are told it is in the spirit of our 1st Amendment that they must be allowed freedom of religion.  I support religious freedom for everyone but oppose allowing any religion to impose their views and laws on others.

About 80% of the 1,200 mosques operating in America have been built since 2003.  We have witnessed the rise in influence and power of various terrorist-linked NGOs (non-profit organizations operating independently of any government whose purpose is to address social or political issues), grow more prominent.  Some of those have direct links to Islamic terrorists, including CAIR, and the Islamic Society of North America.  They have funneled truckloads of cash into the coffers of various politicians in various means and bought access and influence.  They have succeeded in influencing many of our politicians to capitulate to the Islamic ‘needs’ in America.

The followers of Islam are reproducing and actively engaged proselytizing.  Pew Research reported that there are approximately 1.8 billion Muslims worldwide.  That would make them the 2nd largest religion, second only to Christianity.  It has been projected that by the end of this century the followers of Islam will become the largest religious group worldwide.  They are reproducing at the rate of 2.7 children per family and Christians are logged in at about 2.2 children per family.  That may not sound like a significant number, but it is when extrapolated over a few decades and millions of people.

Our younger generation is postponing or not having children largely based on financial concerns.  When that is added to the reality that many ‘middle and upper’ class families no longer parent their children, it becomes alarming.  The followers of Islam engage in devoted teaching of their religion and beliefs to their children, but many Americans leave that to the educators, entertainers, or activists to shape their worldview and values.

In 1970 there were about 100,000 Muslims in America and today there are over 4 million.  Former Libyan dictator Colonel Muammar Gadaffi declared in 2006: “We have 50 million Muslims in Europe.  There are signs that Allah will grant Islam victory in Europe – without swords, without guns, without conquest – we will turn it into a Muslim continent within a few decades.”  The blood-curdling words of former Algerian President Houari Boumediene to the UN illustrates my concern.  He said: “One day, millions of men will leave the Southern Hemisphere to go to the Northern Hemisphere.  And they will not go there as friends.  Because they will go there to conquer it.  And they will conquer it with their sons.  The wombs of our women will give us victory.”

America, I believe in tolerance but when the intolerant demand that we abandon our values and views and our Constitution and law, we must resist and reject them.  Any politician who facilitates this lunacy should be shown the door.  This is another of the many misguided and malicious ideological positions of the Left that cause me to reject them.  Wake up America!

God bless you and God bless America!

DESTROYING AMERICA FROM WITHIN…

The Destruction of America from within has been predicted by numerous communist leaders in the past and our founding fathers warned of that possibility.  I saw some comments and theories advanced by Pat Buchanan that trouble me, if he is right.  I sometimes agree with Buchanan and sometimes find that I cannot embrace his reasoning and suggestions.  But that is nothing new, I feel that way about every politician or national leader.  I guess I could or should say, I find that the case with every human on the planet with whom I engage in dialogue.  We do not all agree or always agree, and that is the beauty of man and our Free Republic.  In fact, I believe a certain level of disagreement is healthy because it brings more ideas and potential solutions to the discussion.

Back in April, Pat Buchanan described democracy as being in a ‘death spiral’ and recently he said it was a ‘dying species.’  I won’t get into the argument that America is not a direct democracy but a republic and representative democracy, that would be too lengthy for this discussion and not completely germane.  Buchanan and many others, including myself, agree that the two-party system in Washington, DC is in a state of irreversible ‘gridlock.’  That is lamentable because, as we have witnessed for over the past three years, the lack of interest in governing by the Left and the often incompetence of many on the Right.

Buchanan argues that comity and collegiality are vanishing, and in that, I believe he has a valid point.  He insists that in Europe splinter parties arise and ‘illiberal democracies’ take power.  I do believe that he is correct in his assertion that we are experiencing a significant moral and social decline in the West.  I believe that condition is being imposed and advanced by many of those governing us.  It is trickling down from those in power and given legs by the Media.  I believe it is a systematic orchestrated and designed a plan to divide and conquer.  Those pushing that agenda are not interested in the betterment of America but the control of its citizens.

I do believe we have been witnessing the dangerous rise of the political elite which is becoming or has become a permanent governing class.  I do believe that we the people are increasingly losing our ability to give oversight, direction, and are systematically being dis-empowered governmentally.  That dis-empowerment and the attempt to control us produced the Tea Party and were a major factor in the election of Donald J. Trump in 2016.  I believe that his election was as much a rejection of political elitism as it was anything else.

The rise and legitimizing of political correctness, the insistence that citizens in various walks of life undergo diversity training has and is doing great harm to our nation.  Do I believe that we need to be tolerant and accepting?  Yes, with qualifications.  I believe that we should view all people regardless of skin color, sexual orientation, religion, or political ideology as humans and treat them with respect.  That tolerance and acceptance ends when any of those segments attempt to force their views on everyone else.  No one, not me, not you, not anyone has the right to force another to adopt their beliefs or preferences.

If you attempt to force me to accept a set of religious beliefs that violate my convictions, I will resist.  If you attempt to force me to embrace your chosen sexual lifestyle, a lifestyle that is anathema to my faith, I will resist.  If you attempt to force me to embrace any ethnicity as deserving of dominance over another, I will resist.

I owe others nothing but respect, providing they do not violate that olive branch. Likewise, they owe me nothing.  I seek to follow the Golden Rule, but when a person makes it clear that their intent is to destroy me, I resist.  I will when necessary, practice my inalienable right for self-defense.  I will practice my inalienable right to freedom of speech, religion, and my right to pursue life, liberty, and happiness.  I also agree that you have the same rights.

Intrusive bureaucratic government is becoming more a norm than I am comfortable with.  In our Republic, the form of government is supposed to be determined by electoral approval.  Simply stated, we the people are supposed to decide what our government is and the direction it takes.  If the elected representatives do not follow our wishes, we are supposed to have the option and opportunity to reject them at the polls and allow them the opportunity to pursue other interests.  That is becoming increasingly more difficult with gerrymandering, voter fraud, and the commandeering of national political parties by the political elitist.

In Canada, most of their population voted for policies and politicians who advance an ideology that I adamantly oppose.  It seems that too frequently in such nations the conservative alternative offers a bland brand of conservatism and fails to attract much attention.  In France, 66% of the people voted against the nationalist Marine Le Pen and for the globalist Emmanuel Macron.  Most of them were indigenous French, not third-world immigrants.  That is revealing of the drift or shift or our world toward the dangerous idea of globalism and the incoherent offerings of Socialism.

I am quite concerned that without a resurgence of fearless leaders who are unafraid to tackle the sacred cows of political cronyism in Washington, regardless of who is in power we are destined for more of the same.  In many ways, I find myself increasingly thankful for a man like Donald Trump.  Not because I view him as a saintly or a highly moral person, I don’t know him well enough to make those judgments.  He makes me cringe, at times, in what he says or how he says it.  However, it is apparent to me that He truly loves America and wants to see her restored to greatness.

I am thankful for someone like Trump who resists the status quo in an unashamed and fearless manner.  He is bold as a lion when it comes to standing up to the establishment.  He believes what he believes and as a pragmatist and businessman, he seeks to find a solution.  Is he an egotist?  What person seeking any national political office isn’t?  Most of us like recognition and are thrilled when given credit for accomplishments.  If we eliminated human ego from society, we would have no politicians, no athletes, no actors and actresses, no entertainers, and society would be incredibly boring.  Ego is a part of the human psyche and held in check and channeled properly is a positive force.

I sometimes engage in discussions about third-parties and alternative candidates.  The discussion centers around alternatives to the Republican or Democrat, and most of the time, I see them as no-win candidates.  We have witnessed the power of the spoiler role in those third-party offerings.  One of the most glaring is Ross Perot who gave us Bill Clinton and defeated George H.W. Bush.  Was that good for America?  I do not believe it was.  I considered the elder Bush a globalist and left-leaning Republican, but I considered Bill Clinton’s liberalism even more damaging to America.  Clinton’s liberalism helped elect George W. Bush, but it also opened the door and blazed the trail for Barack Obama and that door is more frightening than any haunted house at Halloween.

I do believe that our system of government is in danger and it is imperative that all America’s patriots rise and reject the present offering of the New Democratic Socialism being advance by every Democrat desiring to be President.  Please vote NO on the toxicity of liberalism in November 2020.

God bless you and God bless America!

MY PARENTS and THE BIBLE TAUGHT ME THE VALUE OF VALUES…

We live in a terribly disillusioned and delusional world.  That is possibly an understatement of understatements considering the PC world of today.  I sometimes wonder what some of these people, many are my age and older, were taught by their parents.  I frequently wonder if they have ever read the Bible because the ideology they embrace and are advancing is foreign to its precepts.  I’m sure some on the Left and Right will disagree with that last assessment, but I believe it to be the truth.

My voice is not the only voice sounding the alarm regarding the lunacy, damage, and danger of attempting to create a Utopian world filled with ‘safe spaces’ where the snowflakes can hide.  My parents did not tolerate pouting and allowing hurt feelings to fester.  All of us have had our feelings hurt.  However, the rights of others do not end where my feelings begin.  Just because, my ego was bruised or my emotions were wounded by words or deeds of another, that does not mean I have the right to demand their censure.  It means that we need to do what my parents taught me, and the Bible teaches about dealing with others.

The Bible in Matthew 18 gives very clear and valuable instruction on dealing with offenses.  It gives a step by step process that almost none follow but would resolve a vast majority of interpersonal problems if followed.  The first step is go to the person in a face to face meeting before publishing the offense to the world.

You do not go with a vindictive attitude but one that conveys your desire for reconciliation and clarification.  You identify the offense but do not become offensive and retaliatory in your conversation.  If you are truly trying to resolve the issue not get your pound of flesh, your attitude and words will be filled with grace, not hate and hostility.  It is first, one on one, then with two or three mature individuals who do not have an ax to grind, then take it to the whole church if necessary.  Forgiveness and restoration should be our desire.

Some may feel that that pathway works for Christians and church members but not people on opposing sides of political issues.  I ask, why won’t it work in all areas of life?  Is the Golden Rule not applicable in life? In times of conflict, I will often remind myself of the Golden Rule and the instructions of Proverbs 15.  Soft answers may not always cause anger to subside, but they steal from hate its power.

My parents did not tolerate whining.  I was told more than once to ‘get over it.’ No, they did not use a meaningless cliché but attempted to teach me that hurt feelings were not justifications for bad behavior on my part.  They taught me common sense and values and instilled in my heart and mind that I was owed nothing by others.  I was sometimes reminded that everyone has an opinion, likes, and dislikes, and sometimes people would be thoughtless and inconsiderate.

My parents frequently insisted that I remember how the incident made me feel and taught the lesson that I should never treat anyone in the same manner.  In short, they taught me to grow up and become a mature responsible person.  They taught me that life could be hard, harsh, cruel, and unfriendly, but it was the best game in town.  I was taught to live my own life and not allow anyone to control how I felt or how I lived.

In America, it appears that common sense (uncommon today) and values have left the building.  The selfishness and entitlement mentality that is pervasive today pose a significant threat to peace.  The fictional world where no one can be offended requires common sense to be abandoned.  That ‘safe space’ world is a creation of the mind of those who are unable or unwilling to deal with the realities of life.

Dennis Prager and liberal comedian Adam Carolla have produced a new documentary “No Safe Spaces” that is powerful.  If anyone is concerned about the condition of our society and the dangers it poses to our Freedom of Speech should see it.  There is a concerted effort in America to limit freedom of speech.  Both Prager and Carolla acknowledge that ‘common sense and values’ are disappearing in modern America.

That documentary in a surprising manner, somehow manages to draw agreement within disagreement from both sides of the political spectrum that this push is dangerous and damaging.  They include people from both sides of the political thought of some ultra liberal and activists.  Those liberals admitted, though may unwittingly that when the progressive notions of microaggression and safe spaces become the new normal our freedom of speech is endangered.

Dennis Prager’s observation concerning the uniqueness of our constitutional guarantee of Freedom of Speech is worthy of mention.  He said: “What’s happening now in the United States, you are not to be heard on a college campus, or at your workplace.  This is brand new.  This is one of the few things one could say we have no precedent for in the United States.”  It is noteworthy to mention that Ben Shapiro’s speech at Berkley cost the University $600,000 in security required due to threatened protests.  Shapiro’s speech included his belief that there are still students on campuses across America “who do not believe that the First Amendment should die under the jackboots and Birkenstocks of a bunch of anarchists, communistic pieces of garbage.”  The reaction was a standing ovation!

When Freedom of Speech is silenced with charges of bigotry, hate speech, racism, homophobia or any other divisive and inflammatory accusation, Freedom of Speech dies and society moves one step closer to anarchy and destruction.  When students are no longer taught to think critically and debate ideas with civility, Freedom of Speech dies.

When students are no longer taught civics and the constitution allowing the manipulation of thought by the nefarious activist posing as professors, Freedom of Speech dies.  A university should be, as Dennis Prager argues, “the place of ideas.”  Sadly, most universities today are nothing more than purveyors of activism and the dismantling of our Freedoms.  That is more than a minor threat, it is deadly.

We do not have the luxury of waiting for the indoctrinated youth to grow up and realize that the world was never designed to provide them a ‘safe space’.  We must act now, and one of our first actions must be political.  We must defeat as many proponents of the snowflake, safe space mentality as possible.  We must reclaim our government and therein reclaim education and societal interactions by protecting our Freedom of Speech.

America, if we allow the toxicity of the current liberal agenda to prevail, we will witness the demise of Freedom of Speech along with our Free Constitutional Republic.  I believe the 2020 elections are that serious and ask everyone to earnestly pray, seriously think, and by all means vote.  I am voting No on the destructive path of today’s liberal ideology.

God bless you and God bless America!
