BLOG POST 2 - Irrevocable Divided

Yes, I said it, IRREVOCABLE DIVIDE.  I wish I did not believe that were the case but barring divine intervention, America will never be united again because of the unbridled hate, the desire for “my way”, and the diabolical agenda being levied against this Republic.  The hate, the so-called “resistance”, the Never Trump coalition, and the fruit of apathy by too many for too long is reaching a crescendo.  Those adamantly on the side of Dump Trump, in the rank and file, seem to honestly believe the narrative of the Media, the political establishment, and those funding the uprisings.  I don’t want to say they are “ignorant” but UNINFORMED and because of their fondness for the Leftists in Power and their willingness to believe what they read, hear, or see from the MSM, Politicians, and Hollywood they are blind followers of the Leftist Pied Piper.  They will wake up, but I fear that it will too late when that transpires.  There will come a time when they will realize that the “freebies” they were promised comes at a price far beyond what they expected to pay and realize they have become slaves of the state and lament their decision.  They will believe that they were betrayed by both the Right and the Left and that level of distrust will solidify the destruction of the Republic known as the United States of America.

How’s that for ‘gloom and doom’?  I’m sorry to sound so negative but UNLESS those of us who believe in God and are given to prayer begin to fervently intercede for the Republic and the Awakening my prediction will become a reality.  I do believe in God and practice prayer and committed long ago to interceding for America and thereby the world.  I would love to see something transpire where cooler heads prevailed, and we could sit at the table of discussion and work through our differences.  Can that materialize?  YES, but only through either a catastrophic disaster that brings everyone to their knees or a divine move of God on the hearts of men and women everywhere.  Ousting the President from the White House will not cool temperatures but result in something akin to a thermonuclear eruption on all sides.  The proponents for his ouster would not be satisfied because they would not get the person they desired in power and those on the defense of the Republic and this President would not be satisfied because of the illegitimate overthrow of a legal election.  The result would be total chaos and the divide would become impossible to span resulting in the dismantling of our Constitutional Republic and splitting this nation into factions.  The chaos would result in an attempt of martial law and the imposition of an iron-fisted government that would give rise to a despotic tyranny that none should desire.

The idea of the total destruction of a “House Divided” was voiced by the Jesus in the Gospels (Mark 3:25; Matthew 12:22-28; Luke 11:17) and referenced in Galatians 5:15, “But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.”  The Psalmist alluded to it in Psalm 133:1, “…Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity!”  Are we brothers?  I answer that question with this question, “Are we Americans?”  In the Bible, Jesus asked, “Who is my neighbor?”  He responded in Luke 10 with the story of the Good Samaritan in contrast to the Priest and Levite who ignored the need, but the Samaritan took care of the injured man.  Jesus then asked, “Which of these do you think was neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”  They had no choice but to acknowledge it was the one who showed mercy.  Abraham Lincoln in his address referred to the division of the Civil War and noted the Bible’s declaration in saying, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.”  He continued, “I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free.  I do not expect the Union to be dissolved – I do not expect the house to fall – but I do expect it will cease to be divided.”  That is my prayer and desire – UNIFICATION!

We may continue to have differences and that is not unhealthy.  We may desire different things, believe differently, and prefer different pathways in life, that is not unhealthy.  We may become agitated and animated in our discussions but if our singular purpose is the betterment of the Republic and the preservation of our Nation we can UNITE.  Your choice of ice cream may be vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, rocky road, or pistachio and that is okay.  I have no problem with differing preferences and applaud working toward convincing others to embrace your ideology but the one thing that must be central is the Constitution.  The Left believes it is an ever-evolving document that evolves with the changing whims of a particular time or majority sentiment.  That would relegate it to becoming the tool of the devious in a Pure Democratic form of government and Majority Rule would render that document meaningless.  However, our Founders and Framers understood this danger and worded the Constitution sufficiently to ward off ‘knee-jerk’ modifications and insisted that we go through the tedious “amendment process” to alter that document.  THANK GOD THEY DID!

No president, no congress, no court has the authority or right to change that document without the “due process” of a Constitutional Amendment which is ratified by Three-Quarters of the states.  Each state regardless of population has an equal voice in the adoption or rejection of the proposed amendment.  That has safeguarded our Union and Republic for over 240 years and it MUST remain the guiding principle of this nation.

If we allow the caldron of hate to reach the boiling point, we will open the door to such calamity and chaos survival as the Free Constitutional Republic may be impossible.  When I try to talk to some on the Left and present documented factual data to back up my argument, they often and usually become agitated and begin yelling and name calling insisting that I am a racist, bigot, and cultist too ignorant to know the truth if it bit me in the butt.  They offer no factual verifiable data to back up their argument and when confronted with examples of the failures of Socialism and Open Borders they stop listening and want to fight.  That will never resolve differences.  The Bible says, “A soft answer turns away wrath.”  But, it also says in Proverbs 14:7, “Go from the presence of a foolish man, when you perceive not in him the lips (or words) of wisdom.”  In the Book of James Chapter Four, we are advised that the source of quarrels is the condition of the heart, selfishness, envy, and greed.  America, I know we can overcome this divide, but we cannot if we are unwilling to allow our anger to be dampened and temper our words with grace and understanding.  Name calling only further escalates emotions and increases the divide.

My simple request is for everyone on both sides of the current political furor to LISTEN without judgment and try to understand where the other person is coming from.  Present your argument civilly, logically, factually, and with the objective of reaching a working solution in which our nation is preserved not divided.  Is that possible?  It is with many and I am meeting more and more people who see the danger and are trying to learn the art of listening without judgment.  That being said, in the current climate, we cannot allow the control of government to be returned to those on the Left who are driven by an agenda that is dangerous for America and rooted in hate.  THAT WOULD BE CATASTROPHIC.  You may feel that I negated all my plea with that statement.  I believe that should the Democrats regain power, at this time, they would fuel the flames of hate and plunge headlong into an agenda that would greatly hinder if not totally destroy our Republic.  I want to have an honest open discussion at all levels and see America once again become, “One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

Join me in prayer and in the fight for Faith, Family, and Freedom!   God bless you and God bless America!

DIVIDED AMERICA – Where Does It Lead?

Blog Post 3 - Divided America

America is more divided today than I can remember in my lifetime.  The vitriol coming from virtually every direction is so divisive and inflammatory one wonders how we have avoided massive encounters resulting in bloodshed by opposing factions.  America, in my view, is a seething caldron or pressure cooker waiting to explode and UNLESS something changes that explosion will soon become a reality.  What will that achieve?

In the current and previous Presidential Campaigns we are exposed to such deviousness that to those who pray, desire the best good for the nation, and actually examine the assertions, statements, and promises find deeply disturbing.  Will it change?  Not as long as it works in stirring the emotions to the point they override rational reason and honest examination of the matters at hand.  There is a concerted effort of visible and invisible powers to fan the flames of hatred, distrust, envy, jealousy and push ideological differences to the point of producing real and realized hatred.  I have learned that when HATE is allowed full vent REASON is normally abandoned and the desire to subjugate the objects of hatred is paramount.

Blog Post 3 - Sound Bites

In today’s political world politicians continually offer “sound bite” assertions and accusations knowing their words will achieve the desired objective of stirring the emotions, clouding reason and endearing others to their cause.  I do not mind politicians naming another candidate and asking for a clarification of a particular policy or promise.  I do mind them doing so in a manner they know is rooted in deviousness and is filled with half-truths or outright fabrications but playing on the suspicion of the American voter and fanning the flames of distrust for politicians.  It is one thing to compare your ideology, policy or plan to another’s and asking the voter to decide which they think best and prefer.  It is quite another to use deception to discredit an opponent seeking to build yourself up by tearing them down.  I find that repulsive!

I long to hear politicians offer the ideology, planned policies, their plans for solutions to current problems and how they align with the Constitution on issues.  If an opponent is for increased taxes and you are opposed then highlight the difference without using deception, simply offer facts and allow the opponent to respond and the people evaluate and decide.  Unfortunately, American voters have demonstrated a propensity for voting based on emotions so frequently that politicians feel obligated to fan those flames and know that “sound bite” politics is effective.  We have created this monster and we are the ones who must defeat it.

Blog Post 3 - Flames

It is frightening that politicians are allowed or are so lacking moral integrity they would practice such deception and seek to further divide this nation.  The attempt to use “race” as a tool to solidify a voting block is not only insulting to those they use but dangerous for society.  We know that there is an increasing number of people whose anger, bias and hatred based on real and perceived injustices and that poses the potential for violence.  Nobody should desire that, not even a dishonest politician whose singular objective is personal power, position, and purse.  It is troubling when politicians are willing to trample on the Constitutional Rights of a segment of society in favor of another solely for the purpose of acquiring votes.

It would be refreshing and heartening if politicians backed up their claims and promises with definitive records and actions.  If one claims to be a Free Market Capitalist how does he/she support heavy government regulations, increased taxes, government subsidies or eminent domain to name a few?  If one claims to support National Security how does he/she support AMNESTY for ILLEGALS?  If one claims to believe in limited government how does he/she support a tax plan that hinders business and increasingly takes money from the workers.  How does he/she support an increase in entitlements and a continuation of “baseline budgeting” rather than a “zero based budget”?    It seems that virtually all of them err on some point and that is of concern to me.

We are continually bombarded with, “My opponent supports this or that” without hearing a detail of the plan the candidate would advance.  I appreciate that we are talking about things we have been unwilling to talk about on the political stage but am troubled by the planned deception of virtually every candidate without fully revealing their plan.  I know, I know people would become bored with details and are more interested in a good mud-slinging fight.  That reveals a flaw in the American psyche that troubles me deeply.  We are divided and becoming more divided even within the political parties that claim to all want the same thing.  No, for the most part, we want what we want and are not overly concerned with how it affects everyone else.

Blog Post 3 - Restore

America we can turn this thing around and reclaim our Constitutional Republic but not if we continue down the road of DIVISION and DIVISIVENESS.  I have not formerly endorsed any candidate yet and some take exception to that.  I know many are so adamant in their support that they can tolerate no differing view.  I want what is best for America as the Constitutional Republic and want to have a President who will not only promise to protect and defend the constitution but will, without fail, do so.  I do not want a president that does whatever he/she wants but one that will follow the prescribed separation of powers, consider the will of the people and devotedly uphold and follow the Constitution.  Anything less than that is unacceptable to me.

God bless you and God bless America!
