Will America’s Lambs Become Lions?


It has been said, “All that is required for evil to triumph is for good people to be silent.”    That has been said in various forms and by various people throughout the history of America and before.  The Bible speaks of the requirement and expectation of good, righteous, godly, and God-fearing people to be vocal when they see danger and call evil what it is – evil.   Failure to do that seldom, if ever, results in a positive outcome. 

Sometimes, silence makes one complicit and enables a detrimental agenda. Sometimes, silence gives license to sin by failing to contrast that action and activity with the precepts of God’s Word and all reasonable moral codes among people. 

I believe there has been a silencing of the lambs in America and the Church.    I pray that the silenced lambs become emboldened lions politically, morally, and religiously.  There has been a concerted effort to strip many, if not most Americans, of their inalienable and constitutional right to Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion. 

If those seeking a nefarious usurpation of the Bible and the Constitution are successful, America will find itself on the trash heap of history.   We will discover that we can never again hope for a free and legitimate election.   We will watch our republic move from Free Constitutionalism into Oligarchic Tyranny, with extreme Authoritarian rule imposed. 

Edmund Burke is credited with the statement about evil triumphing when the good remains silent and inactive.  I found this quote from Burke: “When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.”  That is a powerful assertion.  Unfortunately, it appears to be a condition existing in a large swath of American society in this modern era. 

I have read some of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s works detailing his ministry and struggles, and found some powerful warnings. He said, “Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.”   I see that translated into many endeavors in life, such as voting, and I believe that “Not to vote is to vote.”

The Bible is not silent on the requirement to sound the alarm when we see evil and danger.   God told the prophet Ezekiel (Chapter 3) that his commission and assignment were to sound the alarm.   He was warned that their blood would be on his hands if he failed to warn the wicked of wickedness and the righteous of the dangers of wickedness. 

We live in a society and portions of the Christian community where the philosophy is that ‘minding one’s own business’ is the best policy.  Many believe they are being righteous by not becoming involved in the dirty business of politics.  Too many have embraced the idea of leaving politics to the politicians.   I have had more than one preacher tell me that God instructed separation between church and state.  I believe they are misguided and misinterpreting whatever scripture they use as a basis for their conviction.

I had a person tell me, “Well, I have never killed anyone, stolen or cheated on my wife, and I go to church, so I’m okay.”  One even said, “I’m as good as the next fellow, and my philosophy is live and let live.”  They were living largely unaffected by the damage and dangers in our world caused by the departure from God and the political impositions being imposed. That it was not touching them personally allowed them to clear their consciences and sit in silence as the world crumbled.

The Bible speaks of sins of commission and sins of omission.   Life is destroyed if we remain silent and inactive when we know that God’s precepts are being violated. Freedoms are being infringed upon; we are, minimally, committing a sin of omission.  Our silence makes us complicit and offers up the naïve on the altar of convenience.  The Scripture tells us that if we know to do good and do not do it, that is SIN!

There are things other than politics that demand our becoming involved, breaking our silence, and departing from the philosophy of live and let live.   When domestic abuse is visible and a life is in danger, do you say, “It’s none of my business?”  

I have had situations where I tried to help in a domestic dispute and had both parties turn on me.   However, when there is physical abuse and a life is threatened, the minimum would be to speak out and notify the authorities.   Silence, in my view, is being complicit with the abusers and allowing them to continue their abusiveness.

What if you saw a toddler in the yard next door, and on the ground near the child was a hypodermic needle that had been used the night before by someone doing drugs?   What if the child headed for the needle, and you are near enough to intervene, would you?   At the very least, you should pick up the needle and dispose of it.  I hope you would also speak to the parents, hoping to save that child’s life and maybe theirs.

Let me offer something relevant in today’s climate.  I believe that Christians and those who value moral rightness should not be silent regarding the slaughter of unborn babies in the womb.   I had a person say, “Well, I’m not doing it.  That is between them and their god.” 

I know of women who were planning to abort their babies, and someone spoke up and brought them the truth of God’s word and some scientific facts regarding that infant in the womb.  Those women opted to give birth rather than abort because someone refused to be silent.

If we cease being silent and comfortable with letting what happens happen, so long as it does not touch us personally, we could see some changes in our world for good.  The politicians will do whatever they can to satisfy those who are the most vocal, provide the greatest monetary benefit, or afford them access to power.  Most do not feel threatened by the Christian community because we have been disjointed, and some have supported unbiblical politics. 

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said some things that resonate with me.  You may or may not agree with the cause for which he was fighting, but take his quote and apply it to your life and life in general.  He said: “Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.” 

I have heard all my life, “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.”   In that vein, Dr. King said, “If a man has not discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live.”  He said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”  He said, “The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.” 

I believe that it is mandatory that all who believe the Bible, love Freedom, and want to preserve our Republic must move out of our cocoons and cease being the proverbial Ostrich with our heads buried in the sand.  We are in the mess we are in because we sat silent while God was banished from the public square.  We sat in silence when the slaughter of unborn babies became the norm.  We sat in silence when conscience was informed by the government that it must take a back seat to political correctness. 

America is in a bad state, not simply because bad politicians enacted bad legislation.  We are not in our current condition simply because those seeking to fundamentally transform our nation co-opted education and the media.  We are not in this state because of politics alone, but because Good People Remained Silent and, like Nero, Fiddled While Rome burned. 

Let me leave you with a passage from Proverbs 31:8-9:

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. 9 Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” 

It has been said that silence is the difference between sight and insight and between fear and faith.   Let me place myself on the chopping block and remind everyone of the words of Jesus in Revelation 2:14 – “You’re a nice church – you feed the homeless and reach out to those in need – but I have a few things against you because you have there, those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.” 

America can no longer hold to the hope of restoration and recovery if her lambs continue to be silent!  If you know something is wrong, do not remain silent.  You do not have to be antagonistic, but you must not be silent.  You do not have to become overly political, just speak the Truth of God’s Word and warn of the danger being pursued. When we know the policies of a candidate or a party are detrimental and dangerous, we must not be passive and apathetic.  Stand for Faith, Family, and Freedom!  America is worth fighting for!

We Have Had Small Government Presidents


Calvin Coolidge had some unique characteristics.  He was a small government president and was the only U.S. president born on July 4th.   That is somewhat symbolic of his small-government view.  One biographer wrote, “He embodied the spirit and hopes of the middle class.”  

President Coolidge was said to be able to interpret the longings of the people and articulate their opinions.  His reputation and standing in history are divided.  Some applaud his reduction of the size of government, and those who believe that government should be more directly involved in regulating and controlling the economy. 

President Coolidge succeeded Warren G. Harding upon Harding’s death in 1923 and was elected in his own right in 1924.   President Coolidge was instrumental in restoring confidence to the White House after the scandals of the Harding administration.  Imagine a President restoring confidence in the White House rather than producing more and more scandals and usurpations of the Constitution.

Interestingly, in our American history, the office of the Vice President has carried few official duties.  One former Vice President said, “The job of Vice President is worth about as much as a cup of warm spit.”   

That is certainly not very complimentary of the office one heartbeat away from the Oval Office.  But an attitude held by many Presidents, Vice Presidents, and voters.   In our modern history, many are utterly ambivalent about who the vice president is.  There is no expectation or contemplation that something could happen to the sitting President.  We know it, but refuse to think about it.

Conversely, I have always been greatly concerned about who occupies this position for those very reasons.  Coolidge was the first Vice President to be invited to Cabinet Meetings by the President.  He became known as “Silent Cal” despite being a skilled and compelling public speaker. 

It is reported that at a dinner party, Dorothy Parker was seated next to him and said, “Mr. Coolidge, I’ve made a bet against a fellow who said it was impossible to get more than two words out of you.”  Coolidge famously replied, “You lose.”   That same Dorothy Parker is reported to have said upon receiving the news that Coolidge had died remarked, “How can they tell?”

Coolidge’s Vice President was former Brigadier General Charles G. Dawes, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1925.   Coolidge was very non-confrontational in his style but decisive and would act quickly when the need arose.   He and Dawes won every state outside the South except for Wisconsin, the home of the home of Robert M. La Follette, Sr., a former Republican Senator.

Dawes split from the GOP to form a New Progressive Party that most thought would destroy the Republican Party.   The Democrats believed this third party would be their ticket to the White House, but as it turned out, Coolidge won a popular majority of 2.5 million votes over his opponents combined.

The economy grew rapidly under Coolidge, and the period became known as the “Roaring Twenties.”   He largely left the industrial policy in the hands of his Secretary of Commerce, Herbert Hoover, and, except for favoring higher tariffs, Coolidge opposed regulation or over-regulation by the federal government. 

His commissioners to the Federal Trade Commission and the Interstate Commerce Commission were anything but intrusive overseers and allowed private industry to follow the Free Market.  Coolidge’s economic policy could be and should be viewed in the reflection of his statement in 1925, in which he addressed the American Society of Newspaper Editors. 

He said, “…it is probable that a press which maintains an intimate touch with the business currents of the nation is likely to be more reliable than it would be if it were a stranger to these influences.  After all, the chief business of the American people is business.  They are profoundly concerned with buying, selling, investing, and prospering in the world.”

Coolidge believed that taxes should be lower and that fewer people should have to pay them.   He cut taxes and grew the economy while proposing reductions to federal expenditures and retiring as much of the federal debt as possible. 

The result was the passage of the Revenue Act of 1924, which reduced income tax rates and eliminated all income taxes for well over 2 million people.  He reduced taxes again in 1926 and 1928 while keeping spending down and reducing the national debt.  Something that we are told by Barack Obama, Joe Biden, the Democrats, and too many Republicans is not possible.   It is; it has been done and can be done again.

Coolidge spoke strongly in favor of the civil rights of African Americans and Catholics and is NOT KNOWN to have appointed any members of the Ku Klux Klan to office.  History tells us that the Klan lost most of its influence during his term. 

In 1924, Coolidge received and responded publicly to a letter that claimed the United States was a “white man’s country.”   His response was, “…I am amazed to receive such a letter.  During the war, 500,000 colored men and boys were called up under the draft, not one of whom sought to evade it.  [As president, I am] one who feels a responsibility for living up to the traditions and maintaining the principles of the Republican Party.  Our Constitution guarantees equal rights to all our citizens, without discrimination on account of race or color.  I have taken my oath to support that Constitution….”  

That flies in the face of the claim that the Democratic Party is the Party of Civil Rights.  Facts reveal that it has been the Republicans who have done more for civil rights from Lincoln to now than any of the Democrats, including and especially Barack Obama or Joe Biden.  They did much damage and uncut much of what had been accomplished previously.  The continual fanning of the flames of hate and distrust is a recipe for chaos.

Coolidge was not an isolationist but was always hesitant to involve the United States in foreign conflicts.  In the summer of 1927, he announced that he would not run for a second term because ten years in Washington was too long for any man. 

Would that we had such men today who would reject the appeal of professional politics and seek office to truly be a servant of the people, the nation, and honor the Constitution.  He said of Hoover, who succeeded him, “For six years, that man has given me unsolicited advice – all of it bad.”   Yet, he would not go public in his disapproval of Hoover; not wanting to split the party, he remained silent publicly. 

Calvin Coolidge was one of the few and one of the last Presidents to actually work toward having a smaller, less intrusive federal government.   I long for that time and that kind of politician to return.

Patriotism and the Founding Fathers…


As I contemplated this blog post, I wondered, “What did the founding fathers think of patriotism?” To fully answer that question, we need to consider some quotes from the founders: 

George Washington – “The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves.”

That is almost prophetic when applied to our current day and age.    As the founders, we are faced with that very choice.  As a natural-born American citizen, a Vietnam veteran, and one who loves the Lord and this country, I choose to be free.   I hope that the majority of Americans and in sufficient numbers in all the key states will allow us to restore the hope of liberty and freedom each November.

Benjamin Franklin – “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.  Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote!”

That was a warning shot fired across the bow of every generation by one of the brilliant founders of this great nation.   He, as did the others, realized that the citizenry would have to be involved in their government, or it would run wild and consume them.   We are at a crossroads in this country, and which road is taken depends on what we do in every future Presidential and Congressional election each November.

Thomas Jefferson – “To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”

“My God!  How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of and which no other people on earth enjoy!”

It is profoundly provoking to realize how well they understood the difficulty of keeping the Republic Free!   They believed it to be absolute tyranny for the government to “steal” from the people through legislation, regulation, and over-taxation. 

They realized what a gift they were presenting to future generations that God had bestowed on them and this nation.  They worked and fought fervently to establish this nation.  Once established, they produced a constitution and Bill of Rights both were designed to keep the Federal Government small.  The objective was to enable the people to maintain their God-given rights and liberty. 

We are in grave danger of losing that today.  I keep asking, “What is your freedom and liberty worth to you?”  “How much is a Free America worth?”  “What are you willing to give or do to keep her free?”  

Our vote each November answers those questions to a degree, but beware, we will continue to be faced with a far more involved decision, not of your making.  There are those who would destroy this nation and wipe out certain segments of the population in doing so.  We are truly living in what the Bible has described as “perilous times.”

Blueprint For a Broken Society…


I contend that a broken government produces broken people.  The latest data for 2023 indicates that there were 22.2 million households in the United States of America on food stamps.  I said households, not people.   According to those same statistics, this equates to 41.9 million people.

The number of households per SNAP records is 22,292,478, up from 21,620,718 in 2022 and almost 672,000 over the previous year. If the calculation were an average of 4 per household, that would mean that 89,169,912 people are on food stamps or 38% of the United States population. 

The calculation of the actual number of persons is moot when you realize that at least 20% of American households are on food stamps.  Yet, the Leftists insist that things are rosy and getting better all the time.  They declare that we have turned the corner and are experiencing a robust recovery.   I suggest that you tell that to the massive numbers who are out of work and the huge number who are no longer looking for work.    The Biden recovery was a myth.  Hopefully, the Trump administration will turn this around.

With the invasion of illegals that occurred under the Biden administration, we are facing some dramatic needs.   Healthcare, education, the economy, and public safety are concerns that must be addressed.  

We have a Broken Government, and Broken Governments result in Broken Societies or Broken People.   The inane and insane policies of liberalism, progressivism, and socialism have dashed the hopes of people to achieve their lifelong dreams economically. 

These failed policies are moving us into a state where we are just a short step from looting and lawlessness.  I often wonder if that is really what those on the left want or if it is their ‘thoughtless’ attempt to solidify a voting base so they can remain in power and protect their Elite Status.  I would guess that it is probably both to some degree.

One study or report stated that we have more people on food stamps in America than the population of Spain and that the cost of food stamp fraud has more than doubled in the past decade. 

It was no surprise when extremist groups such as Acorn and others were actually teaching people how to ‘scam the system’ and ensure that they live quite nicely without having to work for it.  Please hear me; I know that some people are receiving food stamps that would work if they could find work, but they are not the ones I’m referring to. 

I have no problem helping someone truly needy and would provide for their own if they could.  I do have a problem with the professional welfare recipient and the lazy.  Those need to be addressed with tough love.

We have allowed the federal government and often the state government to replace our individual human kindness and the benevolence of the church and community. Now that we have so many federal entitlement programs, individuals no longer feel compelled to help the poor and needy.   

Too often, the churches and communities have pulled back as well. Instead of helping someone get back on their feet, we have a program encouraging people to remain on their derriere. Not that long ago, in my youth, there were people on welfare, but those were few compared to what is happening today. 

Individuals, local communities, and the church were key participants in assisting those with needs.  If a person proved to be lazy, they were allowed to be lazy and hungry.   Some will say, “Roy, where is your compassion?”   In the Bible, we are told that if a man will not work, he should not eat and that a man who will not provide for his own household is worse than an infidel. 

My compassion is following the compassion that God has expressed.  I believe we do people more harm than good when we facilitate killing their dreams and initiative.  I think that we relegate them to a type of slavery that is as bad as physical slavery and, in some ways, maybe worse.  Understand, I consider physical slavery contemptuous and reprehensible, so you must know what I think of governmental slavery.

If we want to recover our nation, restore our republic, and truly help people, we will un-elect every liberal and RINO that walks the halls of Congress or the Whitehouse.  We will endeavor to send people who genuinely care about the Constitution and America to those halls. 

If a legislator or President honors the rule of law and the constitution and demonstrates a genuine concern for America and Americans, then I believe they will demonstrate genuine compassion, not fictitious pseudo-compassion.   They will labor to produce a smaller and limited government that allows people the opportunity to achieve their dreams and goals rather than taxing and regulating them into governmental slavery.

If you agree with me, let us burn up the phone lines, in-boxes, and fax lines of your elected official and become involved in the political process with your money, labor, and vote.  I also seek all who pray to become intercessors for this nation.  America needs you like never before.

The Oxymoronics of Politics


We call it Public Service, and we call them Public Servants, but when it comes to politicians, those terms are oxymorons.   When I see millions spent seeking to be elected to a political office that pays little compared to what is being spent, I have to ask what the motive is. 

In today’s world, virtually any elective office is an incredibly costly perch to attain, and often, a significant portion of what is spent comes from the individual’s personal bank account.   The Texas Senate Race in 2024 between Ted Cruz and Collin Allred was the most expensive ever!   The salary in a six-year term will never reach that amount, so what motivates an individual to seek an office that is so personally costly financially?   Is it public service, the desire to be a public servant, political power, ego, or graft?

When this Republic was founded, virtually all the founding fathers viewed elected office as a public service.   They considered themselves public servants, not politicians.   The very idea of a professional political elite class was offensive to them.   When they sought office, it was out of a desire to serve the interests of the public, defend the Constitution, and perpetuate the Republic, not amass personal fortune and power.  They were diverse in their views, backgrounds, and personalities but held a common ideal that made them unique and admired.

Today, virtually every individual who goes to Washington, DC, leaves office with a dramatically increased personal financial bottom line.  They build networks of contacts that afford them access to enormous wealth.  This enables them to wield incredible power while in office and afterward.   

Most of them campaign on a platform of “service” and “defending the rights” of We the People, but upon arrival at the Capitol, they seem to forget those pledges and promises soon and serve their interests and those of the special interest groups and bundlers that filled their campaign war chests rather than those of the public they were elected to serve. 

Their ethics and principles seem as fluid as the water in a flowing river.  Their principles and ethics rise and fall like the stock market.  It depends upon the electoral cycle’s timeframe and the opportunities to become more established as a political power broker.    

Most have an agenda that is often kept well hidden during the campaign but surfaces in bits and pieces once elected to office.  Many, once in office, seek to remain in office as long as possible, and even if they sought office initially with the desire to perform “public service” rapidly, they evolve into “professional politicians.”

When electing people to public office, I believe it would serve us well to ask, “What did the founding fathers really want for America?”  Additionally, we should ask, “What do the current politicians want for America?”    

The Founding Fathers were an incredibly diverse group with a unified goal and objective: American Liberty! They believed that the citizens should have a say in their government and that government “only” derives its power from the consent of those governed.  That is in stark contrast to the view of politicians today, as we see by their actions, agendas, and policies, regardless of what they say with their words and campaign rhetoric.  One only has to read the opening words of the Declaration of Independence to understand their hearts.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

The founders understood that our rights were not governmentally granted but came from God Himself.  They understood that government should be limited and that the real power should be vested in the people, then the individual states, and then, in a limited scope, the central government. 

Today, we see the results of the slow erosion of that ideology into the massive Federal Government and are seeing it continually expanded.  Barack Obama, Joe Biden, and those of their ilk envision a Federal Government that is all-encompassing and powerful, with the people being “servants of the government” rather than the original design of the “government being a service to the people.”

We did not arrive at this juncture or condition overnight or in a decade or two and will not revert to the Constitutional Republic of the founders in a short span.  If it ever happens, it will take generations.  However, if we allow the Leftists to regain the White House and control of Congress, we relinquish all hope of restoration.

The Leftist’s agenda will be advanced with vigor, the Constitution abandoned, and the ideology of liberalism and progressivism will destroy us.  The will of the people will be ignored.   If the Left regains power, they will throw off all restraint and attempt to install their part as a permanent fixture in the White House and Congress.  

I believe that God worked to enable the founding fathers to frame the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights to establish a nation where people could freely pursue His purposes.  America has been a launching pad for incredible innovations, inspiration, and missionary efforts for a very long time.  Still, it is in grave danger of becoming a very dark place spiritually, morally, and economically. 

I will continue to make an impassioned plea for anyone and everyone to diligently and fervently cry out to God for guidance individually and for the nation.   I urge everyone to do due diligence in examining the records of all political candidates.   Do not just listen to what they say but examine how they say it and what they have done, are doing, and might do. 

If we want to keep a Free Republic, we must restore accountability to every elected office and limit the time any individual can hold those offices.  That alone will not stop all the graft and corruption, but it will go a long way to restoring the power to where the founders envisioned it, in the hands of the people, the legal citizens of the United States of America.

How we vote is our right and prerogative, but failure to vote allows unscrupulous people to manipulate and control the welfare and well-being of the nation.  If we all examine the candidates and their records and determine to hold them accountable, we will have hope of seeing America restored!  Therefore, I ask that you become involved in the political process and, at a minimum, vote in each political cycle!

The Planned Dismantling America


As I have reviewed the past four years, no, for the past 50 years, I have to wonder and ask, “Has the systematic dismantling of the American way of life been done with ‘malice and forethought’ or just out of ignorance?”  I do not think I really have to attempt to answer that question, but I do want to look at it briefly and examine a couple of poignant points regarding what has been happening in America.  I should backdate my examination to over 100 years because that is how long this has taken place.

During WWI and especially WWII, America came together like at no other time in American history save the time of the Revolutionary War.  I would contend that it might have been a stronger unification than even then.    We had a real threat poised to strike, and people from both sides of the aisle came together ‘unified’ to Stop that Threat before it destroyed our Freedom and the Freedom of the rest of the world. 

Since then, we have not had a unified effort in War or on any political front.  We fought in Korea, but there was no genuine commitment to win the war, only to accomplish an objective short of winning.   In Vietnam, there was absolutely no effort to win the war by those in power truly. 

I fought in Vietnam, and most of us realized soon after being ‘in country’ that this was a war that could be won but a war that the powers that be had no intention of winning.   That is the sticking point for me concerning Vietnam.   It is not that we went, whether we actually should have or not.  It is the fact that politicians, world bankers, and the power players in the world were willing to offer up the lives of thousands of young men for some other reason than FREEDOM!  

Please do not misunderstand me; if I had it to do over and were called upon by my country to go to war, I would go!   I would not “burn my draft card” or “run to Canada.”   I would report to the induction center and prepare to go.  Not because I am a blind, obedient sheep just following orders, but I would go in the hope that we would be able to somehow secure Freedom and Liberty for some and keep our homeland safe. 

When I study the agenda of the Fabian Socialists, who have operated in Europe and even this nation for more than 100 years, I am continually amazed at how patient, dedicated, systematic, and organized they have been in their efforts.  They had and have an objective that is World Dominance, as do the followers of Islam and other groups. 

They view nations such as America and our Free Enterprise System as a direct threat and obstacle to achieving their objectives, so America must be dismantled in their view.   When you consider that people like George Soros, Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky, George Bernard Shaw, Andy Stern, Richard Trumpka, John Podesta, Oscar Wilde, Muhammad Ali, Jinnah, British Labor Prime Ministers Ramsay MacDonald to Gordon Brown, Annie Besant, Beatrice & Sidney Webb, H.G. Wells, and many others have been and are a part of this Society you realize how deep this runs and how long it has been going on.  

In a letter to American novelist Henry James in 1909, George Bernard Shaw said: “I, as a Socialist, have had to preach, as much as anyone, the enormous power of the environment.  We can change it; we must change it; there is absolutely no other sense in life than the task of changing it.  What is the use of writing plays?  What is the use of writing anything, if there is not a will which finally molds chaos itself into a race of gods.”

The Stated Goals of the Fabian Socialist are:

  • A strong, centralized government.
  • A powerful executive at the expense of Congress and the judicial.
  • A government-controlled banking, credit, and securities exchange.
  • Government control over employment.
  • Unemployment insurance and old age pensions controlled by the government.
  • Implementation of universal medical care, food, and universal housing programs.
  • Access to unlimited government borrowing.
  • A managed monetary system.
  • Government control over foreign aid.
  • Government control over all natural energy sources, transportation, and agricultural production.
  • Government regulation of labor. 

I find this one fascinating youth camps devoted to health discipline, community service, and ideological teaching consistent with those of the authorities. 

  • Heavy progressive taxation.

They have been working to infiltrate our educational system, and now we have scores of professors on their fold.  They have people like Bill Ayers, Cass Sunstein, Derrick Bell, Ellen Lewin (a University of Iowa professor who used the “F” word towards Republicans), Arne Duncan, and thousands more like them.  They have transformed our educational system into nothing more than a factory of “brain-washed, liberal-thinking followers” of the Fabian model of society.   

We must not lose sight of the reality that it is not just at the higher education levels but has filtered all the way down to elementary schools.  America, if we do not get control of Education and educate our Children at home, we are doomed.  I am not saying we all have to ‘home school’ them, but we must ‘school them’ at home!

The Liberals, the socialists, the radical Islamists, and groups of that ilk have systematically, diligently, devotedly, and with dogged determination pursued their objective with amazing patience.   On the other hand, those of us who value our Freedom, love this nation, respect our Constitution, and follow God have not been so diligent.   We have lost battle after battle because we failed to see the direct impact” upon our personal lives and ignored what was happening.    That is to our shame and must change!

If we love America, love God, respect the Constitution, and believe in the principles upon which this nation was founded, we must become involved at every level possible and with everything possible.   I do not have all the answers, but I know we cannot quit.  We dare not grow weary no matter how hopeless our cause may seem at any given moment. 

May God help us and save this nation!

Sing It, Say It, and Live It!


The song “America” expresses thoughts that I believe should be renewed in the hearts and minds of every American citizen today.   Please allow me a moment to go through them with you:

            My country, tis of thee,

            Sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing;

            land where my fathers died,

            land of the pilgrims’ pride,

            From every mountainside, let freedom ring!

Land of Liberty!   The land where our fathers died and where those coming to this new world took pride in what they could build, and our founding fathers risked everything to secure for us.   That should be shouted from every mountain, valley, and hill.  The bell of freedom has been tolling for centuries, and now it is in danger of tolling no more!

            My native country, thee,

            Land of the noble free, thy name I love;

            I love thy rocks and rills,

            thy woods and templed hills;

            my heart with rapture thrills, like that above.

America has been a bastion of freedom and a symbol of liberty that has stirred the hearts of people worldwide to drink of its waters and share in its opportunities.  Today, we are at the precipice of destruction and must renew our commitment to restoring the foundations that are beginning to be damaged.

            Let music swell the breeze,

            and ring from all the trees sweet freedom’s song;

            let mortal tongues awake;

            let all that breathe partake;

            let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.

Oh, to hear freedom’s song being the theme song throughout the land again.  To hear tongues awakened and all living things take up the anthem, making it ring so loudly and proudly that even the rocks cry out.

            Our Father’s God, to thee,

            Author of liberty, to thee we sing;

            Long may our land be bright

            With freedom’s holy light;

            protect us by thy might, great God, our King.

I believe that this song embodies the key to our restoration as a Great Nation!  America was founded upon the principles of God and recognized God.  Our Founders and the Colonists of 1776 recognized God as the author of liberty.  They acknowledged the hand of divine providence in guiding our leaders to secure our freedom.  They recognized that success would be impossible without God’s help and guidance.  They understood that this new republic could only survive with God’s help.

Today, there is an assault on God, our faith, and this nation from within and from without.  Dare we do less than return to the Lord with a whole heart?  May God provide the guidance and grace for America to return to her former state of greatness as “one nation under God with liberty and justice for all.”

Living in “Someday Land”


Someday is the land of illusions and broken dreams!   Recently, I was drawn into a political conversation with a group of people locally.  One of the individuals was ranting about how destructive the Obama and Biden administrations were for this country.   The discussion included how they had trashed the Constitution, weaponized government, and ignored the rule of law.

One of the people waxed eloquent for about five minutes and then said something that stuck profoundly.  It has traversed the corridors of my mind for days.  He said, “SOMEDAY those who love America and our Constitutional Freedom will wake up, and we will retake both Houses of Congress, the White House, and gain a couple of appointments to the Supreme Court and will once again see the Constitutional Republic of the United States of America again. 

That resonated with me and caused me to think about Someday!   I opened my mouth to respond but could only manage, “I hope so!”  I excused myself and headed for another appointment but thought about what he had said throughout the day – SOMEDAY!

Alan Jackson sings a country song entitled “Someday.”   It is a story about a man pleading with his wife not to leave him.  He promises to do anything to fix the problem and that someday, he’ll get his life straight.   

She responded that it was too late.  She declared that she could no longer wait because sometimes, someday, it never comes.   She said that all she ever wanted to do was love him.  Somewhere deep inside, she still did, but it was time she stopped believing because she realized she was never going to see a change in him and to his repeated plea that SOMEDAY he’d get his life straight, she said, “I can’t wait, ‘Cause sometimes someday just never comes.”   That fits where we are today on so many fronts.

SOMEDAY is an illusional land filled with shattered dreams and broken promises.  It is a land that signifies a lack of priority and commitment.  It is a land that postpones until a fictional future time the resolution of the problem and presents a false hope and promise that can never be kept.  Too many live there, and the results are seldom good!

SPIRITUALLY:

I’ve had people tell me that Someday,” I am going to turn my life around and live for God wholeheartedly.  I have a standard response to that statement: “SOMEDAY suggests that as of this moment, it is not important enough for you to take action and therefore affords you an excuse to continue in your way of living that by your own confession is “missing the mark.” 

It suggests that God is not important enough for you to address the real issues in your life and that you love the pleasures of sin more than you desire a “relationship with God.”   I have found that nobody can “get their life straight” on their own.  Only as we come to God in repentance and turn our hearts over to Him, allowing His will to become our will, our lives turn from darkness to God’s marvelous light. 

SOMEDAY, spirituality just never seems to come!   So, if you are saying Someday” to God, the sad reality is that you will likely come to the end of your days and find that you are still saying SOMEDAY, and it will be TOO LATE!

RELATIONALLY:

I’ve had people tell me that “Someday,” they were going to get their relationship straightened out, and my answer is almost exactly the same.  “Until you determine that the relationship is a top priority to you and you are willing to address the root causes of the problem, modify your behavior, learn to communicate and listen, and make the other person’s wholeness, happiness, and fulfillment a top priority in your life SOMEDAYwill never come, and you will go from broken relationship to broken relationship and wonder why you can’t find a good man or woman.”  

The SOMEDAY Syndrome is your problem, not the other person.  They may and likely do have problems, but the ball is in your court to turn SOMEDAY into TODAY.

ECONOMICALLY:

I’ve had people tell me that Someday,” when they get a few more bills paid, get another promotion, etc., they are going to work on their retirement plans and their family’s financial security.  Yet it seems that something always crops up to prevent that person from taking any positive proactive action to secure a future financially for their family and themselves. 

SOMEDAY suggests that they are living in an illusional world in which things magically take care of themselves.  They believe that they have an endless amount of time to get things done.   Most of them find that they come to retirement years unprepared and live in regret.   Frequently, they are relegated to dependence on other people or the government to survive.   

They could have done something, even if it were something small, to help, and the small, over time, become much more significant than you dream.   I have given demonstrations to the twenty-something crowd about their retirement plans.  I have carefully detailed and shown them how, over the next 20-25 years, their meager funds deposited would grow exponentially.   I was elated when the light came on for some of them, and they turned SOMEDAY into TODAY and acted.

POLITICALLY:

We are in a crisis in America and have seen our nation systematically dismantled from within.   It has not been an outside enemy that has destroyed, usurped our Constitution, or stripped us of our freedoms and liberties.  It is the US!  I say “US” because our government is doing it, and that government is elected by us, so the buck stops with US! 

I hear people like the aforementioned individual saying, “SOMEDAY,” and I cringe, wondering how we can afford to wait for a day that will likely never come. 

  • How can we live in an illusion and settle for broken dreams and broken promises? 
  • How can we resign ourselves to SOMEDAY when action is demanded TODAY?  

If not now, when?  I do not have all the answers and sometimes wonder if I have any at all except intercessory prayer. 

  • I know how futile it seems to continually contact elected representatives and have them virtually ignore your resistance and objections.  
  • I know how futile it is to see those who are supposed to love liberty and freedom abdicate their responsibilities and demonstrate an unwillingness to Stand Firm against the onslaught of Tyranny (soft or hard) in our land.  
  • I know how frustrating it is to see rampant Voter Fraud and have a Justice Department that not only turns its head the other way but actually seems to encourage it. 
  • I know how frustrating it is to hear the President of the United States of America belittle this nation and drive wedges like almost no President before between races and classes of people, as well as the two major political parties. 
  • I know the frustration, but we do not have SOMEDAY.  We only have TODAY! 

Therefore, I call on each one to pray more fervently than ever and work harder than ever.  Some of you or we will have to enter the political arena and run for office.   It is time to return to God and make Him the centerpiece of our lives. The time Is NOW for Action, not SOMEDAY!   Someday may never come!

If Congress Debated Constitutionally


What would happen if Congress debated everything constitutionally in Washington, D.C.?   There was a time when the first question that members of Congress asked when any piece of legislation came to them was, “Is it Constitutional?”  

That question is virtually never asked anymore.   The Founding Fathers had incredible insight and were often prophetic in their writings about the dangers of an overreaching Federal Government that grew too large and powerful. 

  • They understood that any government becomes easy prey for tyranny when it garners great wealth and power. 
  • They understood that as the Federal Centralized Government grew in size and power, it would likely become Tyrannical.  

Therefore, they were careful to place checks and balances to provide tools to prevent it from happening.    For about one hundred fifty years in our nation’s history, those elected to Congress allowed those checks and balances to function without impediment.   They often rejected bills, even ones they would like to see passed, because they did not believe the Constitution allowed them to enact them.  That never happens today!

Our Founding Fathers understood that any leader, whether a king or an elected president, who thinks he is a king can become a tyrant and likely will become a tyrant unless his powers are carefully limited.  They realized that although local governments were capable of tyranny, there was much less risk because they were much closer to the people, which forced them to be more responsive to the needs and desires of the populace they governed. 

Our Founders dealt with tyranny firsthand.   We endured eight years of tyrannical governance by Barack Obama and four years under Joe Biden.   Those two seemed to believe their own rhetoric and were such ideologues that they considered themselves destined to be Judges, Juries, and Executioners over America. 

In my opinion, when any president begins to act as though they believe whatever they desire to do should go unquestioned and anyone that challenges him should be and must be crushed without mercy, we are in trouble.    You may say, “Roy, that is a bit harsh, don’t you think?”  But I would challenge you to view actions and policies over the past four years and how they will impact the future.

When the Colonists rebelled against the British Crown, it was not just the specific abuses of the crown or taxation without representation, as is clearly evidenced in the Declaration of Independence and subsequent documents.   The American Revolution was a Total Rejection of the concept of an “Oppressive National Government.”  It was a rejection of a government that failed to recognize limits to its power and the right of the people to enjoy “local self-rule.”  

Therefore, our founders designed a very weak national government. In fact, it was so weak that the Articles of Confederation had to be amended in 1787 because the initial Articles limited the National Government so that it could not carry out its assigned responsibilities of National Defense and those specifically designated to it.

They gathered, wanting to limit the national government but to enable it to regulate “interstate trade.”   The 1787 convention in Philadelphia produced a new constitution that expanded the power of the federal government, but in a very limited fashion and within carefully defined and detailed boundaries. 

Under the new constitution, the federal government was given the power to exercise sovereign, supreme authority in specific areas in which only a national government can operate.   In All Other Areas, the states would retain sovereignty.   That is virtually gone today! 

If you scrutinize the Constitution, you will find that virtually every power granted to the federal government can be found in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution.  That article empowers Congress to tax and borrow money; regulate interstate and foreign trade; establish uniform laws for immigration and naturalization, bankruptcy, weights and measures, trademarks, copyrights, and patents; coin money and regulate its value; establish post offices and post roads; establish federal courts; provide for national defense; grant letters of marque and reprisal; declare war; and serve as the sole sovereign lawmaker over land purchased by the United States with the consent of the host state.  

If you study that, you will realize that the Constitution Does Not Grant Congress or the President the power to pass any and every piece of legislation that it decides is needed to make life “better” or “fair.” 

Additionally, it Does Not Grant Congress or the President the power to:

  • Nationalize our Nation’s Healthcare System, Auto Industry, Banking, or any other industry.
  • Create a cradle-to-grave entitlement or welfare system.
  • Dictate to any American citizen where to go to the doctor and how to pay for it.
  • Spread the Wealth.

Clearly, by the Constitution, Congress is Restricted from passing Any Law or Legislation in any area where it does not have specific power to do so.   That goes for the President and his Executive Fiats as well.  This is crystal clear in the Constitution, was clear to every delegate at the convention, and is spelled out in even more detail in the Tenth Amendment, which was ratified a short two years after the Constitution took effect. 

For approximately 150 years after the Constitution was ratified, those in each of the three branches of government respected and honored it. That changed with “The New Deal.”   Under F.D.R., the first question of “Is it Constitutional?” changed. Franklin D. Roosevelt set out and successfully expanded the federal government in an unprecedented scope, and it has never stopped growing since then and likely will never stop.

We endured presidents Obama and Biden, who ignored the Constitution.   Obama lamented that it was “too restrictive” because it specified limits on the federal government rather than granting it the power to do whatever it chose!   

If he had had his way and allowed one or two more appointments to the Supreme Court, our Constitution would have become nothing more than a historic document with no meaning or power.   In many ways, we have a Constitutional Crisis in America.  I also believe that many Americans are growing weary of allowing them to toss us a few “crumbs of bread,” so to speak.

I believe that it will take divine intervention to save this nation. Still, at the same time, I believe that you and I must do everything we can to stem the tide of the erosion of Constitutional limitations on the federal government.   I do not have all or possibly any answers except to Pray and Work to Elect People who will be Strict Constructionists of the Constitution.  The one thing that my core principles and beliefs will not allow is for me to quit!

Why Am I Weeping for America?


I am writing to express my views regarding the State of our Union in the United States of America in 2025.    You may or may not agree, and that is certainly your right, for as I said, this is my opinion and nothing more.   It is based on things I see spiritually, socially, emotionally, economically, and politically. 

Over the past few days, weeks, and months, I have spent a significant amount of time praying and thinking about the condition of our nation, the church, and our world.   Out of that time, with everything I’ve seen and heard up to this point, come these thoughts.

I Fear For My Nation:

I see America as being more divided racially and engaged in class envy and class warfare than I have ever seen, including the 50s and 60s.  I lay the bulk of the blame for that at the feet of former President Barack Obama, the Biden administration, the elected Democrats, the media, Hollywood, and some religious leaders (albeit not necessarily Christian leaders as I would understand Christian).  

There is real hate in this nation that is growing dangerously close to boiling over.  When I hear Hollywood stars, music stars, clergy, and even politicians express a good feeling about seeing “white people” being or needing to be killed, it sends chills down my spine.  I know that kind of hatred can only lead to incredible violence, something I would hope none of us truly want.

I saw the former President take actions that were detrimental to our Republic, weaken our national security, and attempt to subvert the plans of the new President.  I watched with horror Barack Obama’s expressed desire and actions to reduce the size of our military and our capability to suppress attacks on multiple fronts.  He claimed that America’s military might was one of the causes of unrest in the world. 

Sadly, as he acted, our adversaries increased their militaries and applauded the move on the part of the United States.   Even the outgoing Secretary of Defense from the Bush administration contended that that type of move would relegate the United States to a second-rate status.  We would no longer be the pinnacle of military defense. We had a brief respite under Trump’s first term, and then came Joe Biden and Dejavu.

Our adversaries urged us to continue down that path of Obama.   Russia and China expanded their military at an alarming rate, increasing the percentage of their GDP for defense, and are dangerously close to surpassing us militarily.   History has proven that the best way to keep peace is by demonstrating power, and we have been rapidly moving away from being a nation of power militarily.  That ideology can be seen in the actions of both Obama and Biden.

Over the past few years, we have witnessed governmental actions punishing success and rewarding lack of initiative.  They engaged in a form of redistribution of wealth.   That has been an expressed desire of the Leftists for some time.    They contend that it is necessary to achieve a “level playing field” and “fairness.”   

I must ask, “Is it Fairness” to take from those who have worked for it and give it to those who are not working? 

  • Is a level playing field destroying initiative and willingness to take risks in order to reap the reward of success? 
  • Is a level playing field reducing the vast majority of the population to mindless followers rather than innovative leaders in the various phases and fields of private industry, including medicine, manufacturing, engineering, etc.? 
  • Is a level playing field having the government viewed as the source of our sustenance and the entity through which all progress and innovation comes? 
  • Is a level playing field removing from our educational training the motivation and encouragement to engage in critical thinking” and “analytical analysis”? 

Our nation is rapidly moving from a “free enterprise system” to one that far more closely resembles a socialistic system” than I am comfortable with.   I am hopeful that the Trump administration will rectify that and move us back toward fiscal, social, moral, and military soundness.

I see the almost incessant efforts to have “gun control” as a precursor to a “total gun ban.”   I believe that is the genuine desire of the Left.  It is the objective for all who argue that the 2nd Amendment does not and should not include the right to possess firearms that are the “so-called” assault weapons is ludicrous. 

Think about our Founding Fathers and the struggle they had gone through.   Do you think for one minute that had they known of those “so-called” assault rifles, they would have banned them?   They had just won a hard-fought victory over a tyrannical government.  The British Crown was in the process of confiscating all their firearms as the war began. 

Our Founders feared that the new government they were establishing could one day become tyrannical. They expressed concern that it would become so large and intrusive that it would be incumbent upon the citizenry to resist.   

In that light, they would most assuredly not have banned the citizens from having firearms that would adequately enable them to resist.  Argue all you want, but the facts will not support your argument that they would have banned semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines.  It is my profound conviction they would not!   

In a time when the vast majority of people fear that the government is too intrusive in our lives and will become even more so, there is great reason to defend and protect our 2nd Amendment Rights carefully.

I see a nation that has systematically moved from the “fear of God” and the “love of God” to being a society that wants to become so all-inclusive that God is banned from our public institutions, and the Bible’s influence is rejected in our government.   That is precisely the opposite of the mindset of the Founding Fathers and the colonists before, during, and after the Revolutionary War.    

Everything they wrote, spoke and included in our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and laws reflected the heavy influence of the Bible and a great reverence for God Himself. Yet we have heard repeatedly from the Obama administration and the Biden administration that America “is no longer a Christian nation.”

Yes, I weep for my nation because I fear that we are dreadfully near the time when the “Cup of God’s Wrath” will become full, and His severe and swift judgment will fall on this nation and this world. 

  • I weep because we have drifted so far from that Constitutional Republican Democracy that the Founding Fathers established. 
  • I weep because there is so much division and hatred among the citizens of this nation. 

America has been hated for generations, but even those who hated her respected our power and willingness to stand for freedom and liberty. They may not have agreed and desired to see us fall, but they respected our ability and position in the world. Under the Biden and Obama administrations, that was no longer true.  I am prayerful that we can rectify the damage.

We are now hated and disrespected and certainly not feared.   Osama bin Laden declared that America was a “paper tiger” both before and after 9/11.   We finally got him, but ten others are taking his place, and he has become a martyr in the eyes of those of his ilk who desire our downfall. We have been playing into their hands under the leftist’s policies and ideology.

America, I weep for you and pray for you.  May God grant us time to repent and return!
