The Explainable Decline


I want to address the conditions of the American Society and much of the world.  What I have to say will resonate with some and be anathema to others.   Some who agree with me politically will find this not to their liking, because they prefer to leave God out of the equation.  I am unable to do that because God is my foundation.  Who and what I am stems from my belief in God and my commitment to Him.

Therefore, let’s jump into the pool of discussion and move rapidly from the shallow to the deep end of the pool.  I hope you will allow me to explain my view fully.   If, after hearing my argument, you reject it as unpalatable, that is your choice.

We begin in Jeremiah 9, where there is an amazing declaration from God Himself.   He laments to the prophet that he has no choice but to judge the nation.  There are specific reasons for the impending judgment, as well as solutions for averting or avoiding it. 

In Jeremiah 4:1, God addressed the desires and even prayers of people like Jeremiah and those longing for a restoration of blessings and prosperity in Israel.   He said, “If you, Israel, want to come back…if you want to come back to Me, you MUST…”  

When I look at the violence, hate, discord, and political and social impasses present, I ask, “How did this happen?”   I wonder how we could have reached the low point to which we have plunged, and because of my faith, I am convinced that the reason is our rejection of God.  

In Jeremiah 4, God commands them to repent and return to Him.  They must set aside certain things and operate in truth, honesty, and uprightness.   That is virtually impossible for a self-centered, selfish heart and mind.  A person consumed by a mentality of entitlement and the belief that they are owed something by society finds it an impossible position to attain. 

I do not believe that God desires to judge America and destroy this nation.  However, I have to wonder how long we can continue down the path of declension and depravity?   At what point does society destroy itself from within, and people devour and consume each other?   At what point does becoming a law unto ourselves result in the impossibility of maintaining a civil society?   Are we nearing that point, or have we already reached it?

When I read Jeremiah 9:1, I find myself overcome with grief.   God is a loving and caring God.   He is not only love but also justice!   He is not arbitrarily imposing restrictions on us for our harm or because He has power, but because they are best for us.   The parameters within which we are expected to interact are to allow us to live and allow others the same privilege.   If we constantly live in fear of harm, we will soon find it impossible to trust anything or anyone.   That usually results in violence.

In Jeremiah 9:13-16, I see a cause for our political, economic, societal, relational, and religious discord.   He said that all the chaos and lack of favor from God were the result of people rejecting God’s laws and turning to the stubbornness of their own hearts.   Those people have succumbed to the temptation of Baal (money and pleasure).

We have had generations of ingrained hate being inscribed on the hearts of people.  The Middle East is a prime example of indefensible and unexplainable hatred that has existed for millennia.   It is the old Hatfield vs McCoy feud.   After a few generations, people no longer know why they hate; they hate because they are supposed to hate a particular people.  

When self becomes the center of everything, we lose sight of the declared objectives of the Preamble of the Declaration of Independence.   “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. “

In a society where those views are embraced and the Golden Rule is applied; we discover not only civility and harmony but that each of us does better.   No, we will not all become rich by applying God’s principles. Still, we will have the ability to live without having to walk on eggshells of emotion, the regulations of the PC Police, and the demands that we abandon our core values.

The problem in America and the world is the condition of the human heart (not the organ that pumps blood, but the foundation of who we are).  The problem is a rejection of moral sanity and a pursuit of fantasy.   We cannot fix the problem, but God can.  

My cry for America is that we will resist hate.  That we will realize that just because someone else has something we do not have is not justification for hating them.   Life is not always fair!   In the course of life, there is good and evil, victories and defeats, joys, and sorrows.   However, if we treated everyone as we would desire to be treated, we would discover the ability to work together for the best good of everyone.  

This is my perspective on where we stand in our society.   The answer is found in God and His word.   I have little of this world’s material things, but I have the most important thing, peace of heart and mind.   I hate no one!   I can rejoice when you are blessed and weep when you are in difficulty.   I will remain patriotic no matter which party is in power, and I will trust God no matter what!

THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL…


I realize that some will officially place me on the list of doomsday prophets with this post.  I have prayerfully and carefully watched the economic events of the past few decades with concern.   I am concerned about the health of the U.S. dollar.  I have concerns due to world conditions, which have been decades in development, will cause the collapse of the U.S. dollar.

If that happens, the world economy could be plunged into the tank.  That would leave millions of Americans and people worldwide in financial ruin.    I do not know when, but I am convinced there will be a dramatic economic shift soon. 

If we continue the economic course, the U.S. has been on for decades.  If we continue feeding the insatiable appetite of Congress for spending.  If we continue allowing our nation’s debt and deficit to grow exponentially, a collapse is imminent and guaranteed.  The path we have been on is unsustainable.  That is something that most economic forecasters agree with, and it seems to be a planned destruction. 

I do not know how anyone could assume that the United States government can continue its unbridled spending.   Allowing the Federal Reserve to continue printing money is rendering our currency more and more worthless.  The continuation and expansion of ‘entitlement programs’ and ‘wasteful spending’ can only have dire consequences.  

Those feeding at the government trough of entitlements seem to believe that the ‘Golden Goose’ of the Nanny State Federal Government has an endless supply of money.  In order to provide for them, they are okay with printing money at an insane rate.   It is more than a problem; it is a disaster waiting to happen.   It is just a matter of time.

I’ve had some argue that this will not happen because the ‘power brokers’ of the world will not allow it to happen.  Those high-rollers need the American dollar and will protect it.  If you genuinely believe they have not ‘hedged’ their bets, you are living in Wonderland, and you should see the Tin Man any moment now.   I think that the ‘money people’ of the world will make money if the U.S. dollar remains or if it goes by the wayside. 

I believe that it is just a matter of when it becomes economically, politically, nationally, and internationally profitable to them.  America is virtually, if not literally, owned by other countries, the money and power brokers of the world.  If they deem it in the interest of their power, profit, and position to destroy the U.S. dollar, it is gone. 

We have reached or are dangerously close to the point of no return.  If we do not rein in this spending and debt train quickly, we could see what Willard Cantelon, a preacher, wrote about decades ago.   He wrote a book called The Day The Dollar Dies, which many believed theoretically but not practically. 

That is the same philosophy many have regarding the prophecies of the Bible.  They accept the idea that it will happen, just not to them or in their lifetime.  Therefore, no real change in practices or lifestyles is needed.  If those prophecies are accurate, some generation will see their fulfillment, and the collapse of the World Economy will become a reality.  The only question is which generation?

I read a report by one economist who said the talk of ‘hyperinflation’ regarding the British pound and the U.S. dollar should be viewed not as if it happens but in hindsight that it has already happened.   He cited that if you bought a house for $20,000 in 1913 using U.S. dollars, you would need $1 million in today’s dollars.   

If that is accurate or even remotely accurate, we are looking at a devaluation rate of 98.5 to 99.5% of the British pound and the U.S. dollar, and if we are already there, where do we go to salvage either?  The Federal Government has been making plans to take your money, including your retirement accounts, and redistribute it to themselves, not struggling people.   Hopefully, that will be averted under this administration. 

The government shutdowns or slowdowns are not about people but about power.   If the government does not continue operating at its recent rate, the lobbyists, consultants, and special interests will not get what they want.  That would mean that the legislators would not continue to become more and more powerful and wealthy personally. 

It has never been about us; it has always been about them!   There would be ample funds to help the truly needy and do the government’s true constitutional duties if it were not for the incredible excess and waste that we have today in government. 

If in your personal finances each month you charge much more than you bring in, you will find that in a short time, you are barely and basically just paying the interest on your debt. If that continued to the point that the interest was more than you brought in, you would have a complete economic collapse and be destroyed financially.  The Federal Government is operating that way, so what is different?  NOTHING! 

Based on what I see politically, nationally, internationally, and biblically, I believe a crash of epic proportions is dangerously near.   If a collapse happens, the headlines will read:  “Panic in the Streets,” “Rioting and Looting Rampant,” “Chaos and Anarchy in America,” and many other descriptive headlines. 

In an economic collapse, hunger and fear would drive people to looting, murder, and viciousness that would be beyond anything most of us can fathom.   I believe that we face a greater danger economically in America than through a direct military-type attack.   When you couple that with the porous borders, incredibly inept foreign policy, and attention to terrorism of the past few years, there is cause for concern.  Again, hopefully, we will enjoy a respite under this administration. 

My message may not cheer you up.  However, I am sounding the alarm now, hoping to forewarn and forearm.  Hopefully, we will take steps to ‘hedge your bets’ financially against the decreasing and dying dollar.  

Even more importantly, I urge everyone to look to God.  I believe that we are soon to see a time where, unless God sustains us, we perish individually and collectively.  I believe this time will be one of the greatest times of revival and trouble the world has ever seen.  I want to be on God’s side when it comes, and at the same time, I recall the words of the Bible spoken by the Lord, “Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”  We must do what we know to do, yet we must become so utterly reliant on GOD that we live without fear!

The federal government has demonstrated a lack of trustworthiness, and I do not mean just the Obama and Biden administrations.  We have a very small window of opportunity and chance, hopefully, and we must reclaim our nation!

The Smallminded are Small Minded.


Small-mindedness is defined in Merriam-Webster’s dictionary as:  “stubborn or intolerant adherence to one’s opinions or prejudices.’  The synonyms include:  dogmatism, illiberalism, illiberality, illiberalness, intolerance, intolerantness, narrow-mindedness, opinionatedness, partisanship, and sectarianism.  

Some of those almost seem to be created words to make a list, but the definition is worthy of note, especially in view of today’s ‘political climate’ and ‘posturing.’    In my view, most politicians are SMALL-MINDED while claiming to be OPEN-MINDED and PRAGMATIC. 

When I am forced to listen to them, I almost treat their speeches as a comedic performance.  I have to restrain myself because often others are drinking in the rhetoric like it was a miracle elixir that will cure all the world’s ills.   Of course, some would say that my view is ‘small-minded,’ and that doesn’t bother me because I am not so locked into my personal view that I cannot hear valid, factual, logical arguments to dispute it. 

  • When I hear the continual ‘race-baiting’ that is coming from the Left, I immediately think of Small Mindedness.   
  • When I hear the arguments supporting ‘higher taxes and punishing the rich,’ I think of Small-Mindedness. 
  • When I hear all the ‘supposed wars’ on various groups that the Republicans and Conservatives are purportedly waging, I think of Small-Mindedness. 

On that last one, it is not only the ‘small-mindedness’ of those spinning the spin and telling the lies, but those hearing and believing them.

Small-mindedness has produced a culture of ‘political correctness’ and ‘faux tolerance’ to the point that it is almost deemed criminal to have a counter opinion to the left.  That is doubly true if you voice it publicly.   The privilege and ability to actually think seems to be a commodity that is rapidly diminishing in our society and one that the ruling class is evidently bent on destroying or making so unacceptable that people cease to engage in it. 

I am sorry, but that does not fit me, so I guess I will be outside the spectrum of acceptability of the Thought Police.  Some of the Left insist that my view is not patriotic.   Oh well, I was never one to just swim with the crowd or fly with the flock if it meant checking my brain at the door or the pool.

Small-mindedness has produced many atrocious laws and restrictions on the American people.  It is astounding that so few see the dangerous path we are headed down.   To vote for an individual ‘solely’ based on their ethnicity is Small-Minded in a most profound way.   To vote for an individual ‘solely’ based on a political party is often Small-Minded as well. 

While it seems that we cannot avoid them, political parties have been the bane of Free People and will continue to be so.  Many of our Founding Fathers wanted to avoid political parties.  They would have preferred that the candidates be judged based on their personal ideals, ideologies, and agendas rather than a political party.  

It is Small-Minded for an elected official to ‘toe the line’ of partisanship without regard to what is best for their constituents, what is constitutional, and in the best interest of America and the American people.

I have had some Progressives, Liberals, Democrats, Republicans, and Libertarians accuse me of being Small-Minded because of my desire to see a Conservative Constitutional Republic restored.   Each of those groups has its own ideological agenda.   Most of them find it almost impossible to deviate from them one iota. 

If we go back to the definition of ‘small-mindedness,’ I’d have to ask, who is being Small-Minded?   I will let you decide that.   I am fully cognizant that I just ticked off some people, and my friend list will shrink again, but that’s okay.   I can handle rejection and treasure everyone’s right to choose for themselves, including who their friends are on Facebook.   lol…

I am tired of the Small-Mindedness that is prevalent and masquerading as Open-Mindedness and Tolerance.   Truthfully, it is nothing short of the antithesis of Freedom.   It is counter to Freedom of Thought, Speech, or Belief.   

I am tired of voting for a political party, even though that seems to be the only viable option today.  I am disgusted with the reality that a politician, once elected, frequently seems to flip a switch and ‘toe the party line’regardless of what they promised during their campaign. 

For that reason, I am unable to vote for a Democrat.  Tragically, many of them, even those who profess to believe and support many things that I do and those who are conservative and believe in the Constitution, become party soldier loyalists.  When push comes to shove, they vote party line’ almost without fail, epitomizing Small-Mindedness.

Okay, enough of my rant; what do we do?   I wish I could answer that in a few sentences, but I cannot.   Maybe I am not articulate enough or do not understand the problem enough.  Still, it seems to be a broad and complicated issue that has taken decades to reach the current state and will likely take significant time to reverse if we can.  

What do we do?  We must refuse to be ‘small-minded’ ourselves.   We must demand that our elected officials move past ‘small-mindedness.’  We must vet our candidates extensively and exhaustively as best we can.  We must adopt a policy of not only voting against those who turn their backs on their campaign promises.  We must work to see them defeated and replaced by someone who will honor their words, the Constitution, the rule of law, and the wishes of the American people (their constituents).

Can we achieve this?  I honestly do not know, but my approach will be to ‘seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness’ and cry out to God for this nation, our elected officials, and the American people.  I will also work diligently to dispense as much information as possible about candidates, policies, ideologies, and actions in Washington and State.  I will pray, work, give, and Vote!

Does Washington Need an Oscar or Enema?


I sometimes wonder if politicians are character actors in a diabolical script or suffering from an impaction.   Therefore, I do not know if they should receive an Oscar or need an Enema.  

However, I know that those in Washington and much of the world are “full of it.”  Whatever it might be!  The political world has become so distasteful and disillusioned that it is almost impossible to watch.  The never-ending political campaigns and jockeying for position spewing out what used to be called  ‘mudslinging’ grows worse almost daily.  I do not know if it is mud that is being slung or something requiring an enema. 

I am fed up and disgusted with ‘political speak’ and the verbal defecation that transpires when politicians have the opportunity to get before a camera or microphone.   I cannot tolerate the ‘race baiters’ spewing their poisonous diatribe, inciting riots, and fanning the flames of racial discord. 

I have grown weary of the bald-faced or bold-faced lies from almost every public sector.  It screams of the need to have a clean-out of the alimentary canal of the world.  It appears that much of it is so full of it that anything short of a complete colon cleanse is a waste of time.

There was a time when our nation was not only willing but insistent upon people being held accountable for their words and actions.  Politicians were not all professionals but public servants and temporary holders of offices.  That ship has sailed, and today, we have a professional political class resembling a mafia or crime family.

The values that were present at the beginning and held true for almost two centuries provided the public with recourse to relieve the condition, and we did so without the 24/7/365 media reporting or propagandizing of some particular agenda.   We were unafraid to ‘speak the truth’ and call a spade a spade.’   I know I can’t say that, for someone will undoubtedly try to make it a racial slur of some kind, and frankly, I have reached the place where I will not let that small-mindedness concern me.

I would, ten thousand times over, have someone tell me the truth rather than make some politically correct attempt at sugarcoating or spinning something to make it somehow supposedly less offensive.   The truth may temporarily hurt my feelings, but if I am honest and truly seeking to be the best I can be, it will only be temporary and prod me into corrective action.

Someone told me some time back, “The whole world has gone crazy.”    While I know that is an exaggeration, it is far from a complete exaggeration, for much of it borders on insanity.   There are no more vicious groups than those following a religious ideology or pursuing a religious cause, as is the case with Islamic jihadists such as ISIS. 

We become endangered when former Presidents like Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, and Joe Biden, coupled with the media, politicians, and many religious leaders, insist that Islam is a religion of peace and that we must be tolerant.    That ideology would be fine were it not for their own book, which they call their scripture, calling for the systematic execution and slaughter of those who do not convert to their religion and their total lack of tolerance for anyone else.  If I could give those calling for this action an enema to rid us of this putrid odor, I would. 

Politicians who sell their souls for position, power, and profit cause us to cry out for immediate action.   Racist of all stripes promoting their brand of toxin demands an enema as the only logical prescription.  Those in the corporate world who are entirely at ease with price gouging, unscrupulous profiteering, and environmental lunatics offer no hope short of a strategically placed powerful suppository to begin the immediate and total cleansing.  

Can we do that?  Not literally, but it might be fun.   However, we can do it through prayer, continual education of all those with whom we can influence, keeping pressure on the elected officials, and becoming more deeply involved in the process publicly, privately, socially, corporately, and spiritually.  The monumental task can only be achieved if we are 100% committed to securing or restoring liberty and a constitutional republic.  That will be our administration of an enema to the world!   Care to join me?

Hats


Ecclesiastes 9:10 – Whatever you find to do with your hands, do it with all your might, because there is neither work nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom in the grave, the place where you will eventually go.”

Each of us has experienced the need to wear different hats (so to speak) in the daily or routine course of life.   I have the privilege of wearing the ‘preacher hat,’ the ‘husband hat,’ the ‘father and grandfather hat,’ the ‘family accountant hat,’ the ‘handyman hat,’ the ‘problem solver hat,’ the ‘friend hat,’ and many more.  What I want to do today but can’t is to wear the ‘fisherman hat.’   I have too much on my plate, but have a hankering to wet a hook. 

Sometime this week, I need to wear the ‘researcher hat’ and research something that has been evading my full view for some time.  Mothers frequently wear many different hats and are not always noticed or appreciated for their labor.  I’ve seen people in church who wear different hats in their service, and while I noticed and expressed my appreciation, I observed that others did not express their gratitude if they saw it, and frequently just took it for granted that it would be that way.

We wear different hats, but We Are Who We Are, no matter what hat we are wearing.   The me that makes me, me does not change with a uniform or hat.   My convictions and core foundation determine who I am and what I do.   If my actions do not align with my words, then I would hazard a guess that the actions are more truly a revelation of the inner person than the words.   That is why the Bible said, ‘By their fruit, you will know them,’ not ‘by their words.’

Politicians and people in general seem to overlook this truth, and we often excuse the discrepancy between what is said and what is done.  It appears that we have evolved in our thinking to the point that if you wear a particular hat, you are not held to the same standard as other hats.  Why?  My life is one unit, not a bunch of unrelated compartments that cannot be synced.

So, as you go through your day, realize that no matter what ‘hat’ you are wearing, you are still you and therefore be Who You Are deep inside.   Do not compromise your convictions, but stay true to what you believe deep within and remain faithful to God’s directives.   We may fail and fall short, but we should all endeavor to Be Who We Are!    Remember it is‘Christ in you, the Hope of Glory.’

Let’s Talk About Deniers


Occasionally, accusations are hurled at me and those who share my views, which makes me laugh.   I have been called more derogatory names than I care to recall.   In today’s world, if you disagree with the mainstream toxicity of hate that is flowing from the foundation of liberal ideology, you are labeled a “Denier.”

I had a person shake their fist in my face and scream, “You Are A Rabid Right-Wing Denier.” That was because of my stance on the matter we were discussing.   I was defending the Constitution regarding Freedom of Speech.   He wanted to censor all speech that did not align with his ideology, held by the liberal left.  I countered by saying, “I am not a denier, however….”

I Do Not Deny That The Climate Changes However, I do question the faux science and arguments regarding ‘man-made global warming or climate change, now called climate disruption by those on the Left.” It was not eons ago that the ‘climate change’ advocates told us that we were heading to another Ice Age.  That transitioned into Global Warming.  Now it is the almost undefinable “Climate Change” or “Climate Disruption.” 

I readily acknowledge that climate changes.  It always has and always will.   It is, has been, and will be cyclical since time immemorial.   I have experienced some incredibly cold, wet winters, hot, dry summers, and everything in between during my lifetime.  I do not deny that Climate Changes.  I just argue that the ‘man-made’ factor is not nearly as significant as those like Al Gore and some Islamist extremists who have used it as a ‘cash cow.’

I Do Not Deny That Our Immigration Has Problems However, I do contend that making ‘illegals legal’ with one broad stroke of the brush will exacerbate the problem, not solve it. Amnesty is not the answer to any issues in our Immigration System or Laws; it is the antithesis.  In my view, and that of some well-versed individuals, erasing our borders and opening the floodgates for millions to come here without hindrance will destroy our economy and our sovereignty. 

I cannot support that!   I am Pro-Legal Immigration and believe those coming should have something positive to offer this nation.  I believe that they should desire, be willing to, and be expected to assimilate into our society and become Americans.  I do not support allowing millions of people who have thumbed their noses at our laws to be given unrestricted access.

I Do Not Deny That Racism Exists in America However, I do not view it as a one-way street.  It seems that 99% of all media coverage of anything ‘racist’ is when some ‘white guy’ somewhere says or does something that is racist or could be viewed as racist.  Yet, when people like the head of the New Black Panthers, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Charles Rangel, Jeremiah Wright, and scores of others make racist statements, it is immediately dismissed and counted as inconsequential. 

The left, the media, and the Democrats (same thing) all seem to believe that ‘racism’ is only a white problem.   I believe that race relations were improving until the Obama administration fanned the flames of discord.   The incessant hate, distrust, and victim rhetoric, and fanning the flames by those connected to him and his ideology.

I Do Not Deny That We Need Government However, I do believe that we need limited government, not an all-powerful, overreaching, over-regulation federal bureaucratic monster that has an insatiable appetite for spending and power. 

I believe in States’ Rights, but, more importantly, the Rights of the Individual citizen in this country.  I believe in the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the purposes outlined in the Declaration of Independence.    We need ‘some’ government; we do not need what we have and what is desired by the left and the RINOs.  We need to return to Constitutional Government and become the Constitutional Democratic Republic that we were designed to be.

I Do Not Deny That The Founders Wanted Freedom of Religion – However, I do believe that their desire was Freedom of, not Freedom From Religion.    In my studies of their writings, those of many average citizens of that era, I have come to believe that they did not, and I do not want a Church of America established and controlled by the government.   It was not that they did not want the Church in America, but they wanted a Free Church in America!

They did not desire the absence of faith’s influence in government but the absence of government’s mandate, manipulation, and control of the church.   There are too many biblical quotes in their writings, our founding documents, and images in public places for me to believe that they wanted to censor or silence the church and/or faith in matters of government.  Instead, they wanted all to be Free to worship as their hearts dictated.

So, I Am Not a Denier; instead, I am a Supporter of the Constitution and believe that any changes to that document must be through the established pathway of Amendments, not with the presidential phone and pen.  America, I plead with you to wake up, rise up, speak up, and step up to work for the restoration of our Constitutional Government in America.

What Am I Politically?


As many of you know, I am a follower of Jesus Christ and have served in Christian ministry for over 55 years.  I have been chided for speaking out about politics, citing the flawed view that nothing of God can be involved in politics and nothing of politics can be in the church. 

I have been asked, “Are you a conservative, liberal, or a progressive?”  I frequently say, “In a strict non-political sense, I am all three, but in a political sense, I am a constitutional conservative.”   My views are not always appreciated.   My opening qualifier is often the fly in the ointment.  However, the question has caused me to reflect on America’s political climate and thinking. 

Definitions are often fluid and adapted to accommodate a particular point of view or desire at any given time, so I am careful when I attempt to define the three terms in my title. 

When Donald Trump was first elected, some on the political right argued that his election obliterated conservatism.  They became part of the ‘Never Trump’ consortium.  I contend that Mr. Trump’s election has not, did not, and will not destroy conservatism. 

If conservatism is destroyed or being destroyed, it began long before Mr. Trump’s entrance into the political arena as a candidate.  I contend that the demise of our Constitutional Republican form of Government has been in the works for over one hundred years.  Some key elements have helped to propel us toward Progressivism and destruction. 

Those agendas began in the early part of the last century with the passage and ratification of the 16th and 17th Amendments to our American Constitution.   Some suggest that in a very strict and literal sense, conservatism is opposition to drastic change and embraces caution and prudence, two things that politicians seem to be devoid of.  Conservatism, depending on your country and subject matter, embodies varied and frequently very different definitions. 

We can find glaring differences if we debate the differences between American conservatism and progressivism.    American Progressives, at their core, reject the vision our founding fathers had for America and that which the framers of the Constitution fought so diligently to provide. 

  • They reject the idea that the Constitution is a ‘safeguard’ for personal freedom and liberty. 
  • They desire an All-Powerful Government that is powerful enough and capable of ‘fundamentally transforming’ America by its control of Americans and our institutions. 
  • They have evolved from simply wanting Socialized Medicine in America to wanting an America that has socialized medicine, no borders, transgender bathrooms, censorship, mind control, and government-mandated business practices. 
  • They, as Barack Obama, believe that America must be ‘fundamentally transformed’ because America was NEVER great or good. 
  • They see the Constitution as a hindrance rather than a safeguard, and therein is a significant difference between Liberals and Progressives compared to Conservatives. 

Back to my point of the 16th and 17th Amendments being a major factor in advancing the Progressive political ideology and the demise of our Constitutional Republican Form of Government. 

The Sixteenth Amendment opened a door that has allowed the bureaucracy of the federal government to grow into such a behemoth that it is insatiable and uncontrollable.    This amendment states: “The Congress shall have the power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”  

Daniel Webster and John Marshall grasped the terribleness of taxation, as Webster argued in the case of McCulloch v Maryland.  He said, “An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy.”  That warning and revelation went unheeded as this amendment was adopted on February 3, 1913.  Both the 16th and 17th Amendments were ratified in 1913, marking the beginning of the end of limited federal government.

In contrast to the bloody revolutions of progressives in other nations, the American progressives have largely resisted the pleas of men such as Bill Ayers, who have called for a bloody revolution to overthrow the system of government they hate.  Americans, heretofore, have taken the political approach of slow erosion.   Until more recently, the American people have embraced the idea of a Living Constitution, which allows them to modify, misinterpret, misconstrue, and misapply the words of that document as presented by the framers.    

Conservativism is, in a real sense, rooted in the idea and desire of restoring the Founders’ and Framers’ idea of America, in which our inalienable rights are protected and defended, and our liberty preserved in the United States of America. 

We desire limited government, fiduciary integrity, and government frugality, and a government in which we are afforded all our constitutional and God-given rights and privileges without infringement by the federal government.  Government is not the provider of those rights, and we should always warily remember the words commonly attributed to Thomas Jefferson, “A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take away everything that you have.”

If we allow the waters of liberalism and progressivism to continue dripping on the rock of our constitution, it will eventually erode it to the point that it is impotent.  We dare not let that happen, and if we make our focus and fight personalities rather than America, we will facilitate their attack.  I pray we reject that tendency and temptation and Rise to Fight for America!

Politics and Life


When the word ‘politics’ is used, the reactions are varied.  Some of the emotions elicited become insanely violent.  Politics has divided families, nations, communities, and even churches.  However, politics is a part of life and, to a degree, unavoidable, even for those who seek to avoid it.  

If we define politics as does the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 5th Edition, we would be left woefully devoid of the impact it has on lives.   Politics in the 21st Century has become a war zone rather than a civil attempt to provide governance to a free people.

American politics in 2025 seems more about what people hate than what they love.  It is more about branding than standing.  It is more about preference than overall good.   It is more about political parties than pursuing the ideals advanced in the Declaration of Independence. 

Politics, like love, is blind!   It is out of that blindness that we make decisions that affect not only the present but future generations.  America is not perfect, no nation is.   Our history is not pristine, but what nation’s is?   There is only one perfect government, and as long as humans make the rules and decisions, it will not exist for human beings.

We have devolved to the place, and maybe we were always there, where we are forced to embrace the lesser of two evils or take a truckload of bad to get a wheelbarrow of good.  We are asked to compromise our convictions in the name of tolerance.  We have adopted a ‘participation trophy’ mentality where bad behavior, laziness, and parasitic behavior are not only accepted but encouraged. 

Modern politics has produced more ‘bottom feeders’ than any profession in American history.  Is it the craving for and lure of power?  Is it greed and graft?  Is it the absence of ethics?  Is it fear of rejection or retaliation?  What has produced this monster?   Is there a solution?  Is there any hope for our survival as a Free Constitutional Republic?

I have lost friends over my political and religious views.   I regret that, but am unable to conscientiously ‘stand down’ and ‘compromise’ my convictions.  I will change my opinions but not my convictions unless the Holy Spirit reveals the necessary change through the Word of God. 

I have, at times, been very cautious about offending anyone and walked on eggshells while trying to navigate the sensitivity of those who are unable to cope with any disagreement.  I never want to be the source of offense, but biblically, I understand that being offended involves a choice on the part of the one who is offended.  We take offense rather than simply being offended.  I can choose not to allow something the power to offend me.

The battle lines are being drawn in the sand using the ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ as the rally cry for the 2026 mid-term elections.  There are distortions on both sides regarding precisely what is provided in that legislation.   The attempts to fan the flames of paranoia and fear are disturbing.  Even those who carry the name ‘Christian’ are falling prey to the rhetoric and hate.  

America, I have said for many years, we cannot fix what is wrong in this great country through politics or the ballot box alone.  The real problem is not which party is in power politically, although it is important.  The real problem is not who is president, although that is important.  The real issue is the condition of the human heart.  I do not mean the organ that pumps blood in the body, but what makes us who we are.  The heart or the soul is where the problem lies.

I am in my late seventies now and realize that, even if I live another twenty or thirty years and reach the century mark chronologically, I have a short time left to make a difference in my world.   The driving passion of my heart is a Free, Civil, Constitutional America, where everyone is recognized as being created equal with certain inalienable rights from God Himself.  I am driven to present Jesus to as many people as possible.  

I discovered in the late 1960s the peace that comes with full surrender to Jesus and what the promise of an abundant life truly is.   I have made many mistakes in my decades on planet earth, but find God to be long-suffering, merciful, loving, and kind.   I have learned the value of what we call the ‘Golden Rule.’  I have learned that we do not all have to agree about every detail of life to be able to work together and make our world a better place.

The vitriol of today’s politics and the thin-skinned reactions are moving us dangerously near the abyss of self-destruction.   I believe that God is willing to help us if we will acknowledge Him and pursue His precepts and purposes.  

I do not pray about sporting events, asking God to help my team win; that would be self-serving and demeaning to God to choose sides in largely unimportant matters.   I do pray that He will motivate people to use reason and consider what is right.  I begin with me, asking Him to help me see clearly.  I believe that if I get Roy Beaird right, that change will affect others positively.  I do not desire to hate anyone!  

Politics is important because it is a part of life, and life is the most prized possession we have.    The most important thing is not getting our candidates across the finish line to the victor’s circle but getting ourselves right with God.  If we are right with God, we will get right with other people, even those who hate us.

When Emotion Outweighs Reason


It becomes a problem, and sometimes it is “Much Ado About Nothing!”   I am going back several years to the presidential primaries before Donald Trump’s first election.   I want to extract some things from an article written by Dr. Thomas Sowell.   I agree and disagree with Dr. Sowell on many points.

I like Thomas Sowell.  I consider him articulate and insightful; we usually stand shoulder-to-shoulder on issues.  I am not concerned with the candidate Dr. Sowell favored in those primaries.   It doesn’t matter to me if he supports the Establishment Candidate(s).   That is a personal choice.   That is not my focus.

His article, “Grow Up,” was primarily directed toward Donald Trump, his apparent arrogance, and his brashness.  Those very qualities endear Mr. Trump to some and are anathema to others. That is not what I wish to focus on.  The article was, at least in part, about Donald Trump.  However, there were other parts of the article that caught my attention.  Some positions I agree with, and some I do not.  Let me venture where angels might be wise enough to avoid.

  • I completely agree with Dr. Sowell with regard to people allowing “emotion” to outweigh “reason.”  “ Tragically, that happens more frequently than not. 
  • I agree that many in politics and elsewhere in America need to, as Dr. Sowell declared, “Grow Up.” 
  •  I agree that “talk” will not solve our problems, and as most of you know, I am disturbed by what I call “sound bite politics.”

Please note that Donald Trump was and is not the only candidate utilizing that tool.   Therefore, I am not being critical of President Trump in saying what could be directed to virtually every candidate running for political office.  I want to say to all of them: STOP IT!

I believe that President Trump truly loves America and wants what is best for this nation.  Is he right in all his choices?  I doubt it, but who among us is perfect?  Is he brash and, at times, caustic?  Yes, but he is a New York street fighter businessman who will go toe to toe with anyone to gain an objective.   That seems to be what we need in his present time.   I am supportive of President Trump on most issues!

Dr. Sowell addressed an issue that is a problem, but his solution is not a solution for several reasons, in my opinion.  He said, “If you don’t understand the issues but want to do your patriotic duty, stay home on election night, whether in the primaries or the national election in November.   Uninformed voters turn elections into a game of playing Russian roulette with the future of America.”  He is right, and he is wrong.

Dr. Sowell was right in saying that “uninformed voters” tend to follow emotions, and as one woman in her 80s said, “I voted for Bill Clinton because he was the best-looking candidate.”  Seriously?   Are you Serious? 

Sadly, millions voted for Barack Obama solely because he was Black and knew little about his ideology, agenda, or politics.  That kind of voting is tragic, but still allowed in our political system.  I know some who withheld and will withhold their vote because they do not like either major party’s candidates or potential candidates. 

Our system allows them to do that even if I think they are wrong.   Some have told me that they Do Not vote a Straight Party Ticket.  That is fine, but when asked about various races and who they voted for, they voted for one party without knowing who the candidate was.  They had no idea what the candidate stood for and what their campaign promises were. 

They voted for that individual because of their party affiliation.  I used to think that was a bad idea, but in modern politics, the differences in party platforms and the acquiescence of candidates to the party demands make it a more viable option.  We do not have a voting knowledge test requirement to vote in America.

I would support Dr. Sowell’s solution, IF, and it is a very big if.  If Everyone on both sides of the aisle followed it.  If every truly “uninformed voter,” which may be a very large percentage, opted not to vote if they did not have sufficient information, I might see the benefit. 

However, who determines who is “informed,” and who determines what constitutes being “informed?”  How many people would openly acknowledge they were “uninformed?”  I have had people tell me in one breath, “I’m not up to date on politics,” and in the next, staunchly declare they are Informed enough to pick the right candidate.  When asked about the candidate’s stance on various issues, they drew a blank but considered themselves informed.

I have encountered no leftist or left-leaning voter who thought they did not have sufficient knowledge to make their choice.  Some have even argued that they heard it on the radio, saw it on television, or read it on the internet, and the candidate of their party said it, so they considered it to be the truth of the highest order. 

I had one person, a Hillary supporter, say to me, “I don’t care if she is guilty.  I’m voting for her because she will stop the Republicans from destroying our country.”    They could offer nothing when asked what specific plans she had to save America.    But Hillary was her choice, and no matter what she was, she did or will do.  She was the preferred choice.  Please understand that there are those on the Republican side who are exactly the same with regard to their chosen or desired nominee. 

Therefore, Dr. Sowell, I do not think encouraging people not to vote is the answer.   I believe that working as diligently as we can to “educate” and “inform” with truth and facts, as well as committedly “pray,” is a better path.   

I know many say, figuratively if not literally, “Don’t confuse me with the facts; my mind is made up.”   That being said, we will still only had about 64% participation in the 2024 presidential election.      Voting is a choice that should be regarded as extremely important.  However, so should being informed.   What will happen in future elections?   That is entirely up to the American people.  I am convinced God will, as He did with Israel, allow us to have our desires, and the price for that may be incredibly high.

Survival Reality – “Stay the Course”


I have learned in life that, too often, people abandon a purpose, cause, mission, or effort shortly before victory would have been theirs.   I have been guilty of giving up prematurely, only to find sufficient evidence in the days or weeks following that had I stayed the course, there is almost 100% certainty I would have achieved the objective.

There are many accounts in history where, against all odds, some valiant heroes stayed the course and turned the tide in a battle, which ultimately altered the course of war and shaped the course of human history. 

  • Had Jesus not stayed the course and gone to the Cross, mankind would be hopeless. 
  • Had England not stayed the course under the leadership of Churchill, all of Europe and likely the world would have fallen into the control of Nazi Germany and or the Japanese Empire.  H
  • Had Ronald Reagan not stayed the course in pursuit of the Republican nomination, Jimmy Carter might have won reelection and pushed America further down the path of inflationary and additional national security disasters! 
  • Had the Founding Fathers and the colonists who sought Freedom and Liberty not stayed the course in 1776 and beyond, there would be no United States of America.

I have never suggested that one should ignore reality.  However, if the cause was worth beginning the fight, it is worth seeing it through to the conclusion.  In today’s America, we have been facing choices between Constitutional Republicanism and Socialism or Tyranny. 

Many have been laboring to enlighten people, vet candidates, and hold politicians accountable by standing up, speaking up, and stepping up for a Free Constitutional Republic.   There are times when we see a light at the end of the tunnel and times when it appears the tunnel has suffered a cave-in, and all is hopeless.   

The onslaught of toxic liberalism and globalism is massive, well-orchestrated, and well-funded.  It is a concerted effort to dismantle what the Founding Fathers established and for which the colonists fought and died.   We must “Stay the Course!” 

I make this appeal because I have seen and heard many who are becoming so weary of the struggle.   The frequent abandonment of constitutional principles by Congress wearies the hearts of many citizens, and their hearts are growing faint.   Some have told me, “I have made up my mind, NONE OF THE ABOVE,” with regard to virtually all future elections. 

They have given up.   They are throwing in the towel and conceding defeat.   I spend almost as much time trying to encourage some of them as I do in my efforts to enlighten and challenge the false narrative of the leftist who would “fundamentally transform” America.  We Must Stay the Course!

We are too near the end to quit now.  In my years of ministry, I have often challenged believers, saying, “The devil cannot win (in our situation) unless we quit.”  Christ defeated him at the Cross.  Likewise, the massive push of the Progressives, Liberals, Socialists, RINOs, and all who promote Bigger Government, More Spending, and More Federal Control can only win if WE, THE PEOPLE, fail to “stay the course.” 

It is impossible not to realize that there is massive voter fraud, rigging elections, deep pockets, diabolical alliances, and millions of dollars to buy an election.  Sadly, too many are blind or willingly blind to political reality in America.    But I ask, “Is not our cause worthy of whatever it takes to Stay the Course?”

Each election, especially national elections, is the most critical election we will have faced.   We must not become complacent or resigned to business as usual, and we must not cede defeat.  We must “Stay the Course!”   We must stand for “Faith, Family, and Freedom!”
