PICK YOUR POISON…

The title may be eye-catching and attention-getting but truthfully, I do not believe our choices in November are between which poison we will die from as a republic.  I believe that one path is toward the restoration of a more constitutional form of governance and the other toward anarchy and totalitarianism.  I won’t tell you, which is which just yet, but I suspect you know what I think.

I am not sure there are any ‘Moderate Democrats’ in America today.  I do believe there were some in the past that could have been described as such, but that ship has sailed.  I will not argue that, at one time, Joe Biden might have been more moderate in the mode of possibly, JFK, but he is no longer.  In his attempt to remain relevant to the Democrats and win the nomination he had to make a discernable shift to the left and in some ways to the ‘radical left.’  That is important but only limitedly because we all know that if Biden reaches the White House, he will not be calling the shots.

We have all seen polls like the Zogby poll that revealed that 55% of Americans believe it is more likely that Biden is in the early stages of the horrible disease dementia.  I don’t know how anyone could argue that he is not suffering from reduced mental acuity and has severe cognitive decline, but they do.  I believe that his mental fitness is noticeably less today than it was when he launched his current bid to become the nominee.  If you disagree, that’s your prerogative.

I have watched, with more than limited interest, who he might select as his running mate.  At the time of this writing, he has not made the final decision but by the time I post it, he may have.  Today’s options appear to be between Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Stacy Abrams, Susan Rice, and others.  I suspect that he will select someone that is a woman of color who holds radical leftist views, but I could be wrong.  That is not my focus.  Regardless of who he picks, neither he nor the VP is likely going to be running the show.  I believe that the powers behind the scenes, those now orchestrating the campaign, and ensuring the needed funding will be the ‘think tank consortium’ that makes the decisions.

We know that people such as Nancy Pelosi, Susan Rice, Sally Yates, John Kerry, and even Michael Bloomberg would have significant sway on the policies and agenda.  I do not doubt that the organizations funded and formulated by George Soros, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and Obama would be powerful voices in all decisions.  All United States policy both domestic and foreign would be filtered through those progressives and the Republic would be in jeopardy.  Our Constitution would be meaningless if Biden wins, they keep the House of Representatives and were able to flip the Senate.

The Socialist Globalist Marxist agenda would be rammed through Congress and the token signature of Biden attached and as it was with Obamacare, we would be force-fed a new America.  We could complain all we wanted, but we would have no sway with Congress, the Courts, or the Media.  Nothing short of a 1776 style revolution would change anything and while I am not calling for that, I acknowledge it may eventually become a reality.

Sadly, we are perilously near the tipping point where a majority of voting Americans are aligning themselves with the Leftists.  Some of them because of their deep hatred from President Trump, some because of their ideology, and some due to historic ignorance.  Strange bedfellows where those claiming to be constitutional conservatives and radical leftists unite.  What amazes me is that some who would normally oppose the leftists either cannot see the danger or do not believe it as dire as it will prove to be.

What would America look like under Barack Obama Part Two?  Look around at what you have seen in the pandemic lockdowns, the rioting, and the 4 years of intense coup attempts to overturn the 2016 election and you get a glimpse.  Unfortunately, it would be worse than those conditions because they would feel no restraint or constraint.  The absence of religious leaders stepping up and speaking against the destruction has hamstrung America more significantly than what the Leftists have been doing.

The calls for reduced, defunded, or diminished police presence would endanger everyone and all property.  Our borders would finally be erased as they have been wanting for years.  Abortion would not only be expanded but would be funded largely by tax-payer funds and there would be no more restrictions on that genocide.  We would see the fossil fuel industry decimated and the AOC Green Deal in some form would be rammed down our throats.  That would usher in a dark period in our America as costs would escalate for everything and travel and transportation would become highly restrictive or cost-prohibitive.

Those would be bad enough but would not be the extent of the damage.  Joe Biden and the Democrats have vowed to rescind all the Trump Tax Cuts and that would result in all of us paying more taxes.  Well, those of us that pay taxes would pay more.  Many small businesses would be destroyed and find it impossible to operate causing the jobless rates to soar.  They would pursue their highly touted goal of free college, eradicating student loan debt, and many would become wards of the state.  We would not be able to sustain that fiscally so a bankrupt America or one that through debt would belong to foreign entities.

Our electoral system would be forever altered and the possibility of a fair election in which a conservative or Republican could hope to win would become virtually impossible.  Voter Identification would be a dinosaur and the electoral college would become a casualty, the Supreme Court would be expanded and packed with liberal activist jurist.  Government regulations would become so numerous that it would be virtually impossible to survive in the private sector.  Nations such as China would become incredibly powerful and dangerous and in a large measure would ‘own’ America.

When you add that list things like a complete revision of American history, the removal of all our memorials, statues, and reminders of our founding would be eliminated.  Some get their panties in a wad over Trump’s tweets and Biden’s mental state and that becomes the subject of their stump speeches and rants.  We are missing the point if we make it about Biden or Trump.  It is about much more than either of those men, it is about the Republic.  It is about having a Constitutional Republic or plunging into a state of chaos and anarchy that will lead to a totalitarian state.

I agree with Victory Davis Hanson that this is about Civilization or the loss thereof.  He said, “It is an existential question, a Manichean choice between whether you want civilization and believe that America doesn’t have to be perfect to be good…and we are not, in its third century going to destroy all that people died for, or [whether] you feel it was inherently flawed with a cancer and we have to use radiation, chemotherapy and kill the host to kill the cancer.  And that’s the choice we are looking at.”

I agree and I too will be voting for Civilization in November and pray that America will awaken, reject the personal bias and hate, and stop the assault on our republic that has been launched on multiple fronts.  I stand for Faith, Family, and Freedom.

God bless you and God bless America!

INTOLERABLE and IRRECONCILABLE HATE…

This will not make me popular in some circles and possibly any circle, but I see a condition in 2020 America that has reached the level of being intolerable because it has become irreconcilable.  I am hearing this from people who have a racial bias and that is not limited to one ethnicity or skin color. They voice how much they hate.  I am hearing from some who name the name of Jesus and yet express hate.  I am hearing from conservatives, liberals, libertarians, and independents how much they hate.  The level of hate is so pronounced I believe it has reached the level of being irreconcilable and that does not bode well for the republic.

Yes, what is happening in the riots, looting, mayhem, murder, and arson by BLM and Antifa and other groups is intolerable and unacceptable at any level.  Everyone has the constitutional and God-given right to protest but that must be done peaceably and lawfully not as it has been transpiring.  The vehement back and forth in name-calling and labeling all people of any ethnicity as bad, corrupt, deplorable, and evil is not acceptable.  It is not acceptable to God and is not acceptable to me.

We are standing on the precipice of a full-blown civil war in America.  We are sitting on a power-keg and it will only take one small spark to ignite it and the destruction will go viral and spread faster than COVID-19 or the Bubonic plague.  It will be more rapid than a cold passed from child to child in daycare or kindergarten.  It will sweep the nation and the world more rapidly than anything we have witnessed in our lifetimes.

I keep hearing people saying, “We can crush this in an instant.”  Maybe we can, but I learned long ago you never underestimate the enemy you are facing.  If you do, you will suffer far more than you anticipated and many who joined your glamorous cause thinking it a cakewalk would become discouraged and abandon you.

Death and destruction between all sides in the current situation will not resolve it but perpetuate it.  As a believer in God and a Christian, I am praying for God to divinely intervene and touch our hearts.  This is a political issue and a heart issue, not a race issue.  Yes, race is inserted into the equation as a useful tool to achieve the desired outcome of those seeking power and control.  We are their enemies and neither side is their friend.  We are simply pawns, in their chess game of power and control.

Let me say what could make me persona non grata to many, “If you hate President Trump so much you are willing to sell the soul of the Republic to defeat him, you might as well remove me from your contact list.”  The Bible asks, “How can two walk together unless they are agreed.”  If you hate Trump so much that you are willing to side with the anarchist, and those seeking to strip us of our freedoms, liberties, property, and rights, then please omit me from your circle.  We are not only not in agreement we are light-years apart.  I don’t mind you believing what you believe and support your right to do that, but if you have allowed hate to become so dominant in your heart, we have nothing to talk about.

I take my position based on my core convictions of what is right and wrong and what God desires.  If that makes me unacceptable then unacceptable, I will remain.  I am not trying to be antagonistic, but hate must be addressed, and it must be dealt with.  There can be no tolerance for hatred from anyone.  Let me offer several passages from the Bible that state my position more clearly than I am able with my words.

1 John 4:20 – “If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.”

1 John 2:9 – “Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.”

Proverbs 10:12 – “Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.”

Matthew 5:43-45– “You have heard it said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.  For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and unjust.”

Proverbs 25:21-23 – “If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink, for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.  The north wind brings forth rain, and a backbiting tongue, angry looks.”

Please do not attack and say, “You are missing the point, this must be dealt with blow for blow or it won’t stop.”  I believe that God’s love is more powerful than the devil’s hate.  If that makes me seem one living in a fictional fantasy, so be it, that is where I live.  I have experienced the power of love overcome hate. Hate that was intent on violence was quieted by love.  I have seen people who wanted to do me harm, disarmed by God’s incredible love when I refused to climb down in the muck with them.

I am not saying, do not defend your home and property if an attack comes.  I am saying, do not take to the streets to meet the violence with violence unless there is no other alternative, as in any war.  War should be the last resort, not the first option.  America was not built on hate it was built on a total commitment to freedom and the belief that we are created in the image of God and have the right to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

Yes, we are in dire straits in America and yes, our republic is in danger of collapse. Yes, there is a war being waged and innocent people are being killed, harmed, and ruined.  That is intolerable and we must do several things to quell and stop it.

We must fall on our faces before God and seek His help and guidance and ask Him to intervene and pray for divine intervention in America.  We must put pressure on the elected officials that are charged with representing us and insist that they take the appropriate action to ensure that Law and Order are restored, and all lawlessness is fully held accountable to the law.  We must become willing to listen to all sides of the issues before us and now we are not to bow before any man, kiss their feet, or apologize for our skin color.  That is demeaning and no human should have that imposed on them or be willing to accept that.

We must exercise our constitutional right and privilege in November and vote for America.  If you don’t like President Trump that is your choice, but if you hate him so much you are willing to sell the soul of this country to defeat him and allow a Socialist Marxist Communist godless agenda to prevail, then we have nothing more to talk about.  If you and they are successful we will all suffer and you will suffer along with me and those who hold the views I hold, biblically, socially, morally, economically, and politically.  You may not suffer to the extent we do or as quickly as we, but, in time, you too will suffer because those seeking control only see you as a tool, not a friend.

When hate reaches the level of being intolerable and irreconcilable destruction is assured.  I offer you a passage that few ever note or quote as I conclude and ask for you to join me in praying for America.  It is in Psalms 34:21. One version renders it, “Wicked people are killed by their own evil deeds, and if you hate God’s people you will be punished.”  Another is in Proverbs 26:24-26, “A hateful person disguises himself with his speech and harbors deceit within.  When he speaks graciously, don’t believe him, for there are seven abominations in his heart. Though his hatred is concealed by deception, his evil will be revealed in the assembly.”  Sadly, today, Hate is not being concealed but verbalized and acted upon.

My prayer: “Forgive me, Lord, for any bitterness I have or do hold in my heart.  Forgive those reading and forgive those who deem us, enemies.  Let love prevail and put out the flames of hate that are burning like wildfire among us.  Without you, Oh Lord, we are doomed.  Our freedom is too valuable to lose to hate, so please help us, I pray.  Amen.”

God bless you and God bless America!

MY FAITH AND (insert whatever) DO NOT CONFLICT…

I was in a biology class in college and we were discussing evolution.  The professor was an avid evolutionist and, in his words, a devout follower of that theory.  Interestingly, just outside the door of the classroom in the breezeway between buildings, there was a Chinese Ginkgo tree.  A tree that even the professor said, had not changed in thousands of years.  I questioned him on that, and he became angry issuing a challenge to the class that if anyone could find any evidence disproving evolution bring it to class.  That opened the door for my problems because you don’t challenge me that way and expect me to be a docile sheep.

It was at about that time, off the coast of South Africa they caught a fish that fit perfectly into a fossil.  The fish had supposedly been extinct for about 50 million years and the live fish was identical to the fossil.  He became even angrier and informed me that I was prohibited from presenting any materials, asking any questions, or commenting in his class for the remainder of the semester.  He then made a statement that I have never forgotten.  He said, “I am a devout _____ and a devout evolutionist and my religion and evolution do not conflict.”  Hello trouble, because I said aloud, “Mine do!”

There are some things that as a Christian I cannot embrace, tolerate, or ignore.  In today’s climate of hate, and the rise of the ‘collective guilt movement’ created by the neo-Marxists is challenging to my faith.  I can appreciate Christians wanting to be tolerant and inclusive, I do.  However, I am unable to disregard the clear teachings of scripture and when I am asked to embrace something that violates God’s directives, I have to pass and in the words of Nancy Reagan, “Just Say No.”

I do not believe that the Bible teaches “collective guilt” and expecting people to allow evil out of a sense of guilt for sins committed or perceived by generations past.  The Bible says in Ezekiel 18 that the father shall not die for the sin of the son, nor the son for the sin of the father, but everyone for their own sin.  If I commit wrong, I am accountable for that wrong. I will not accept blame for something that happened to someone’s ancestors or perceived ancestors hundreds of years ago.  If I am not guilty but you insist that if I do not join the solidarity and assume my place of penitence at the alter of guilt, I am guilty of violence against non-whites is unacceptable.  My belief in God that all are accountable for their own actions and that position will not jive.

My faith reminds me that God considers one of His prime taboos, ‘covetousness.’  The evil of envy, the monster of jealousy, and the danger of resentment and hate are anti-biblical and therefore I cannot endorse those views.  Sadly, much of the neo-Marxists of today’s movements such as BLM, Antifa, and others make all those justifiable because of the perceived inherent evil in being white.

When I look at people, I have learned to see PEOPLE, not skin color.  You may insist that I am not being honest, and no one can do that, I believe in my heart that I can because of God’s love.  When I think of my condition and eternal fate before Christ I am humbled by the incredibleness of God’s mercy, grace, and love.  Jesus did not die for Jews, Caucasians, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, or any other ethnicity alone, He came to die for ALL!  The last time I checked the definition of ALL it includes everyone, not just those who looked, talked, dressed, believed, or lived in a certain manner.

My faith calls for Unity.  In Galatians 3:28-29, the apostle Paul declared, “There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female.  For you are all one in Christ Jesus. And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham.  You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.”  Throughout the Old and New Testaments, we are enjoined to “Love one another.”  It is impossible to love and hate someone at the same time.  If hate is in our heart love is absent and love will force hate out of the heart and thereby out of the thoughts and actions.

My faith will not permit me to diminish the value of life in embracing abortion, especially abortion on demand.  We can disagree when life begins but I choose to embrace what God’s word says about the matter.  Let me offer some pertinent passages from the Bible and hopefully, they will demonstrate how my faith and abortion are incompatible.

Psalms 139:13-16 – “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.  Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.  My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

Jeremiah 1:4-5 – “Now the word of the LORD came to me saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you…”

Job 31:15 – “Did not He who made me in the womb make him?  And did not one fashion us in the womb?”

Galatians 1:15 – “But when He who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by His grace.”

Luke 1:41 – “And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.”

Those are a few that anchor my faith and believe that life begins even before conception, but most assuredly does at conception.  Disagreeing is your privilege, but this is an explanation of why I could never support abortion which is the modern staple of the Democratic Party.

I believe that marriage is between one man and one woman, as defined in the Bible. (Genesis 2:24 and Ephesians 5;30-31).  I believe there are only two genders as defined in the Bible.  (Genesis 5:2).  I could never imagine standing before God and saying, “God you blew it.  I am a female, but you put me in a male body, with male DNA, and male genitalia.”  That would be impossible to defend and would be the ultimate slap in the creator’s face.  I could more envision blaming God for sin than I could in attempting to make that argument, and I cannot envision that.

The hate, greed, envy, bitterness, desire for vengeance, and covetousness that is prevalent in today’s world, embraced by the Left and advanced by various activist groups is anathema to my faith and I reject it.  You can hate me if you choose, that is your choice.  I choose to love you and choose to follow the directives of God’s word to the best of my ability. Therefore, when it comes to politics, I cannot endorse a candidate that devalues life in the womb, live in the flesh, and devalues the home and family.

We all face the difficult task of rectifying our faith and beliefs with individual politicians perceived or revealed character.  I understand that, and I experience that.  I realize that there were times, in biblical history, when God used people of less than pristine character to achieve His purposes for His people.  The individual is less important to me than what the platform they embrace, the ideology they espouse, and their willingness to dismiss God’s directives and trade morality for power.

If for no other reason, and there are many, I could not support the Democratic candidate because of their position on abortion, God, and our inalienable rights.  If you can, that is between you and God, but My Faith and Liberal Leftists Socialist Progressive Politics conflict.

God bless you and God bless America!

VOTER FRAUD IS REAL and A PRESENT DANGER…

I have had enough of the Leftists insistence that voter fraud is non-existent or extremely rare.  It is neither and there are enough documented pieces of information that debunk that claim and reveal the dangers of failing to address it.  I have had enough of milquetoast Republicans who are either Leftists themselves are cowardly not articulating the problem.  I have had enough of the Globalists, Totalitarian Leftists pushing their Socialist agenda pursuing their agenda with the view ‘the end justifies the means.’  Enough already!  There is a danger and it must be addressed and quashed.

Anyone who claims that voter fraud does not exist or is rare is either incredibly deceived or they are part of the diabolical plot to steal the upcoming elections.  The Heritage Foundation has published data listing the 1,285 proven instances of voter fraud.  They included the 1,110 criminal convictions that resulted in action by the states.  Sadly, many states have no interest in investigating voter fraud or prosecuting the criminal activity involved in it.  The fact that a state does not investigate, does not purge the voter rolls, and does not prosecute does not mean the problem is non-existence.  Rather, it indicates they are part of the problem.

There is little media reporting on the criminal cases and incredible violations of our election laws when it comes to Democrats.  The only time the media is interested is if there is a hint that it was a conservative or Republican that engaged in cheating.  If they can find that they make it racist or some other charge rather than seeking to expose all improprieties in our electoral process, i.e. ‘Voter Fraud.’

One example that has been brought to my attention was in the 2016 mayoral election in Gordon, Alabama.  Then mayor Elbert Melton, illegally notarized two ballots, without witnesses present in his reelection bid.  He won the race by 16 votes.  He was convicted of absentee ballot fraud, removed from office, and sentenced to a one-year prison term.  That is one incident.  In my home state Texas, we have had numerous cases and our Attorney General is interested in stamping out voter fraud regardless of party and aggressively pursue cases.  That should be the norm in all states, not the exception.

The Left, follow the mantra of Rohm Emanuel, Obama’s former Chief of Staff, “never let a good crisis go to waste.”  They are following the Saul Alinsky rule, “the end justifies the means.”  They have seized upon the opportunity presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, fear, and paranoia to insist that it is not safe to go to the polls.  However, it is safe to go to restaurants, bars, grocery stores, abortion clinics, and participate in massive riots and protests but not the polls.  Heaven forbid, a person voting in person, it would seem, is certain to contract the dreaded disease and die or become sick.  Any person with an IQ above freezing knows that it is a sly attempt to cheat.  I am sick of the politicians preying on people’s fears to gain an edge.

One of the things in our Republic that must be guarded is the ‘ballot box.’  The push that the Democrats are insistent must be enacted for the November elections is ‘mail-in ballots.’  That plan is so fraught with dangers and impossible to adequately police it must be resoundingly rejected.

We have long been able to request absentee ballots that would be mailed in.  That is not new, but the request is supposed to be accompanied or based on a legitimate reason or excuse for not voting in person.  Those who are physically disabled or ill, our troops stationed overseas, and other legitimate reasons allow for limited ‘vote by mail’ to transpire.

When states like Oregon mail out ballots to every registered voter, at the address they have on record that opens Pandora’s Box and invites voter fraud and ballot harvesting prolifically.  What happens if the person listed at that address has died or moved?  The ballot is left and whoever lives there has the opportunity to illegally and unethically use that ballot or sell it to the devious who want to cheat.

The lack of policing and purging of voter rolls in various states and municipalities invites voter fraud.  Sadly, whenever there is an attempt to clean up the voter rolls to ensure legitimate elections the liberal activist groups charge to the scene and scream ‘voter suppression and racism.’  The officials frequently cower in the shadows at the fear of those lawsuits of charges and cede to the demands that it not be done, opening the door for continued abuse and fraud.

There has been the suggestion that political operatives be allowed to distribute or collect the ballots.  That would totally delegitimize the process and the ballot would no longer be secret.  There could be and likely would be pressure to vote in a certain manner or the offer to help the person complete their ballot.  Of course, that would present no problems, right?  Watch out for the Unicorn poop as you walk through the yard and dodge the pigs flying overhead.

The idea that a person either does not have to register or can register on election day is unthinkable.  It would be impossible for election officials to verify the information presented as being legitimate and would guarantee voter fraud.  The Democrats have been pushing this issue heavily since reclaiming the House of Representatives in 2018 and Speaker Pelosi included it in her 3 Trillion Dollar Democrat Wish Bill.

Hans von Spakovsky of the Heritage Foundation reported that Liberia was able to conduct a legitimate and successful election in 2014 despite the Ebola epidemic.  This year Wisconsin held an election without problems during the COVID-19 pandemic and so did South Korea.  We must preserve our Electoral Integrity and that will not happen if we allow ‘vote by mail’ or ‘cheat by mail’ to become the norm.

There are those in the Democratic Establishment, the Trump haters outside the Democratic Party and some Republicans that believe President Trump is so vile, evil, and bad that he must be defeated at all costs.  They believe, or so it seems, that cheating is acceptable if that is the only way to achieve their objective. I don’t know if they are oblivious to the dangers embodied in the policies of the Left or think those of us warning of those dangers are wrong. The danger is too great to ignore the possibilities!

America, if we hope to keep our Republic the Free Constitutional Republic we must rise up and demand that our national and regional politicians fight against Voter Fraud.  We must never allow any political party to steal the election by cheating at the ballot box.  Elections have consequences and if we desire to remain Free, we must have legitimate elections.  That is another reason I am voting to Keep America America and voting against the Leftists at all levels.

God bless you and God bless America!

SO, GOD IS TO BLAME…

No, I do not believe God is to blame for the confusion, chaos, sin, violence, hate, destruction, and difficulties in America or the world.  I believe He has allowed things to transpire because of the wickedness of the human heart and is seeking to bring us back to Him.  What I am going to say will probably get me kicked to the curb, attacked, vilified, and hated by some.  It will resonate with others who will shout a hearty, AMEN!  Some will think I have gone too far and others not far enough, but I am less concerned about what anyone thinks than I am the truth and what God thinks.  I don’t mean that to be as cold as it might sound because I care about people and America.

Mario Murillo wrote an article recently entitled, “Christians Repenting For Being White.”  I was intrigued by the title and saddened and challenged by the article.  Let me state plainly, “I believe that no human being should ever repent over the color of their skin!”  I read in Psalms 139:14 that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.”  God created us.  If you do not believe in God or in Creation that will not resonate with you, but I need to ask, “How did you become the color you are?  Was it by choice or something beyond your control and that is the way you were born?”

I did not choose my parents before birth.  I did not choose my nationality before birth.  I did not choose my ethnicity nor the physical features I possess.  I believe that God decided those things and in His unique purpose and design made me.  Therefore, for me to ‘repent’ over his design would be to slap Him in the face and say, “God you blew it this time.”  The audacity of that is beyond my ability to comprehend and beyond my boldness to dare.  Along with the many other passages in the Bible, Revelation 1:8 declares, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come Almighty.”  HE IS THE ALMIGHTY, the ONE TRUE and LIVING GOD!

I would never argue that there are no abuses by the police, but I would argue that not all those abuses are racial in nature.  There are bad eggs in every basket, group, organization, occupation, or segment of society.  That has existed since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden and will last until the final judgment is rendered and the devil and sin forever eradicated.  We are not there.  We are flawed human beings, but human beings we are and that means something powerful to me – WE ARE ALL OF THE SAME RACE!  That’s right, there is only one race and that race can be traced back to Adam and Eve in the Garden.

I would no more repent of the color of my skin than I would seek a sex change operation.  Either would be, in my view, a slap in God’s face.  It would be paramount to saying to the Almighty, the Creator of Heaven and Earth – “You are imperfect and made a mistake.”  That would be to fall into the trap of Adam and Eve and result in making self the center of our universe and the sovereign and relegating God to a lesser position.  It would be to dethrone God in our hearts, minds, and lives, and enthrone self.  You may think that a good idea, I do not.

When I meet with people of all ethnicities, I frequently attempt to get them to address the issue of skin pigmentation and ethnicity.  Why?  Not to stir up trouble and strife, that already exists.  I do it hoping to shift our focus from the peripheral to the real issue that can bring resolution, peace, contentment, and victory.

When I stand before a crowd of mixed ethnicities and ask them what they see when they see me the responses are varied.  Most say, “An older white male with silver hair.”  I tell people that when I look at them, I see their skin pigmentation just as I see the green of the grass, the red of the rose, and the blue of the sky.  To deny that would be to deny the obvious.  I smell the fragrance of the rose and see the thorns.  However, when I look at people what I see in my heart of hearts is not skin pigmentation, size, shape, or gender, I see fellow creations of God.  I see eternal spirits who either know God or need God.  I see people!

I confess, that attitude has not always existed in my heart, but it does today because I have adopted the view that God created us all and that Jesus died for all of us.  It is unthinkable for me to attempt to show solidarity with any group regardless of ethnic, religious, or political positions that allow evil and criminal behavior.  The actions of the police in the George Floyd death, do not appear justifiable.  That is something that the court and a trial by peers must decide.  Rioting, looting, threatening to burn down the country is not any less reprehensible.

I believe that “Black Lives Matter”, but then I believe that “White Lives Matter” and “Brown Lives Matter”.  Yes, I am going to say the offensive, “All Lives Matter” because they matter to God.  I also state adamantly that two wrongs never make a right and committing acts of violence, terrorism and crime do not resolve any issues.  The issue is not skin color it is the attitude of the heart.  It is the existence and dominance of hate.

I am incensed when anyone suggests that I should repent for being white and would be equally incensed if anyone should suggest that a person should repent for being black.  I agree with Mario that to say that racism comes from the color of one’s skin, it itself racist and the worst kind of racism.  It is the attitude and the heart.

In Colossians 1:16 we are informed, “For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities– all things have been created through Him and for Him.”  In Galatians 3:28 we hear, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male or female, for you are all one in Christ.”  If that is God’s view, then adopting a position that divides us by skin pigmentation and ethnicity is an affront to Him.

Would it offend you if someone said, “All blacks are thugs?”  It should!  Then why does it not offend you when someone says, “All the police are racist and malevolent dregs of society or that all whites are racist?”  Stereotyping any group of people or ethnicity is to engage in reprehensible racism that cannot be allowed to stand.  If I were part of the KKK, Black Racist Movements, Nazism, or other clearly vile groups, I would have something to repent of.  I am not, never have been, and never will be.

As Christians, we have much to repent of including our complacency and apathy toward abortion.  I believe that the Church has, too frequently, been more interested in presenting an artificial gospel that seeks to appease and establish mini kingdoms than seeking a life-transforming experience with God.  There has been more focus on numbers rather than transformations.

My experience with God was life-changing.  I was headed to destruction and a life of debauchery where hate could reign in my heart.  I was living a life that sought my interests with little regard for the needs of others.  I was living a life that was filled with misery, depression, rejection and had a quick trigger to retaliate.  That changed when I came to Jesus.  Did it all change immediately?  I wish I could say that it did, but I would discover the root of sin still deep beneath the surface and those old feelings and tendencies sought to surface.  It took the Holy Spirit, the Love of God, and an enormous supply of Grace for me to overcome, but overcome I have and overcoming I am.

America, our real problem is not Democrat or Republican per se.  Our real problem is not black or white skin pigmentation.  Our real problem is not abuse by some individuals within various sectors of society.  Oh, those are issues, but the real problem is the heart!  If we continue to view life through the grid of ‘ethnicity’ or ‘skin pigmentation’ stereotyping and engendering fear, hate, bias, and distrust we will self-destruct.

Let me state my view in this way and you do with it what you will.  “I believe that we are all created in the Image of God and there is only one race of people on planet earth, humans.  I believe that God wants everyone to be saved and those of us who have received His Grace is commissioned to take His message to the world, in love.  I believe that God made and makes no mistakes.  If you are white, black, brown, or any skin tone realize that is how He made you and He has a purpose for you in that ethnic group.  You just might be His bridge of Love.  We either stop looking at others through the lens of ethnicity or we will destroy ourselves.”

If I harm you, I should and will repent.  If you harm me, I will forgive you.  The only force that can save us is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  I repent of my sin, not God’s creation!

God bless you and God bless America!

AMERICA’S MISINFORMATION INFORMATION MACHINE…

Trusting the media is impossible in 2020 but then it has been for a long time.  No one can make a reasoned determination about virtually anything when the information presented is, at best, half-truth or is slanted to formulate an idea or image that the presenters’ desire.  But that is the current state of ‘information’ in the American media, politics, and much of life.  That is a problem that is not easily overcome and one that can dismantle our system of government and destroy our republic.

Some who identify as conservative and constitutionalist are so adamantly opposed to anything Trump, they appear willing to see America fall into the hands of the Leftists.  I cannot comprehend how anyone who truly loves America and embraces conservative values could support the Left who are devotedly anti those values.

It is indefensible in my mind that anyone who believes the constitution is to be followed and honored would be willing to allow the Leftists to win.  The Leftist considers the constitution an outdated dinosaur that must be ignored, usurped, bypassed, or changed.  Amazingly those who individuals consider themselves patriots.  They see those of us who support Donald Trump in the fight against liberalism as idiots, cultists, traitors, or worse.

It seems that those in that crowd repeatedly regurgitate the misinformation and deception of CNN, MSNBC.  I have encountered numerous, self-proclaimed defenders of liberty, who are so opposed to Trump they spread the debunked claim that he wants people to drink bleach.  Although it is ancient history now, I listened to the briefing and read the entire transcript when he supposedly said that.  What I discovered was that his question was based on the report of the findings by the medical researchers regarding the effectiveness of disinfectants and light.  He clarified that it was a question not a suggestion, yet he was and is deemed the evilest man in history and one that must be stopped at all costs.  Sadly, the cost is America, but alas, those who oppose him so deeply do not seem to see that.

Those statements will possibly get me unfriended on Facebook and that’s okay.  Not because I want to offend but because two cannot walk together without being in agreement.  I am not a Trump apologist although I have been accused of that.  I am a defender of the Constitution and realize that any hope of keeping that document intact and enforce requires defeating the Democrats and the only way that is possible is by electing Trump to a second term.

I agree with the idea that what the media is doing is presenting an “image” and is not engaged in the pursuit of truth or facts.  I agree with Daniel Boorstin who argues that an ‘image’ is presented as a replica of reality.  It is not reality, but often a distorted version slanted and designed to develop a mindset to achieve an objective. That objective, as seen in today’s political and media world, is Globalism, Liberalism, Progressivism, Socialism, and the fundamental transformation of our Republic from Republicanism to a Direct Democracy.  That would ultimately lead to a totalitarian state, despotism, and tyranny.  Sadly, those who hold the depth of the animus against this president as is witnessed in many circles do not seem to see or believe that.

The misinformation regarding COVID-19, the pandemic, the lockdown, and the dismantling of our economy has been beyond the pale.  Some have attempted to fact check the information being presented and uncovered some interesting facts.  When trusted prominent public figures such as the medical experts charged with formulating a defense and solution present misinformation or wrong information, the damage is done.  When the nefarious media twists those declarations and presses them beyond bounds engendering fear and paranoia, the damage is exacerbated.

The misinformation takes on a life of its own and goes viral.  It is spread in emails, texts, social media posts, media reports.  To make matters worse local and state officials give them credence.  That presents a problem that is not easily overcome.  If those spreading the misinformation are simply ill-advised souls who want to help everyone and are concerned for their and our safety, that is one thing.  But when the state officials and media personalities use the misinformation as a political weapon to advance their Leftist agenda that is destructive and could inflict mortal wounds to the Republic.

I read one survey by the Institute for the Study of Journalism that contended that misinformation accounts for 87% of social media interactions and fabricated accounts about 12%.  If my math is accurate that would be 99% leaving 1% true and real information available.  If that is anywhere near reality the damage may be irreversible and has produced an epidemic of misinformation information that is shredding our Republic.  That condition is locking millions in a ‘Prison of Fear’ from which they may never be released.  A Prison of the Mind is the most difficult prison to escape from and only God can bring true liberty.

Even the illustrious Dr. Fauci, one of the key proponents of the ‘lockdown’ has acknowledged that the long-term damage done in an extended lockdown is destructive.  We have over 39 million Americans out of work as a result of his and the recommendations of the ‘experts’.  The computer models have been wrong on almost every occasion and the trampling of our Freedoms and Liberties expansive.

The quote usually attributed to Edgar Allan Poe is apropos, “You are young yet, my friend, but the time will arrive when you will learn to judge for yourself of what is going on in the world, without trusting to the gossip of others. Believe nothing you hear, and only half what you see.”  In today’s world of misinformation information that admonishment is more than a little applicable it is virtually required.

I am reminded of the declaration of Proverbs 18:17, “The first to plead his case seems right until another comes and examines him.”  We were encouraged in Ecclesiastes 12:13, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”

If we allow misinformation to become our information, we will be easily deceived, make wrong decisions, and render judgments based on lies, half-truths, or errors.  The result of that is we take the wrong path and thus arrive at the wrong destination.  Today we are bombarded with misinformation and most of it is not innocently presented but with an agenda and intent.

If you love America, want to keep her the Free Constitutional Republic we were given, and if you believe in the Rule of Law, the Constitution, and that we have inalienable rights I ask you to carefully decide how you will vote in November.  Dig deeply enough that you discover what the candidates and party platforms truly embrace.  Consider the records and never allow someone else to make your decision for you.  Exercise your God-given right, privilege, and ability to THINK, and once you have thought it through and prayed it through to peace act on your decision.  Let Peace Guide You and Let Truth be your Light.

God bless you and God bless America!

THE PRICELESSNESS OF FREEDOM…

Before the first shots were fired at Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775, the seeds of Independence and Freedom had been sown in the hearts of many in the American colonies.  Our struggle for Freedom stretched from 1775-1783 and the many examples of the Providence of God are inspiring.  In April 1775 the armed conflict began at Lexington and Concord with the ‘shot heard around the world.’  France entered the revolution in 1778, siding with the American colonist and shifted the war from an internal civil war into an international conflict.

When the British surrendered at Yorktown, Virginia, in 1781, the Americans had effectively won their independence, but the war did not formally end until 1783.  The colonists led by George Washington, John and Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, and John Jay among others detailed their grievances to the British Crown in September 1774.  Their efforts were summarily dismissed and were ignored.  In May 1775 they met again to authorize further action, but by that time fighting had already begun.

The Second Continental Congress convened in Philadelphia adding Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson to the mix.  They voted to form a Continental Army and appointed George Washington as the Commanding General to lead the military efforts of the colonies.  The Battle of Bunker Hill inflicted heavy damage on the British forces led by General William Howe. The British ultimately won the battle but it gave hope and impetus to the American cause inspiring them to continue their struggle for freedom.

By June of 1776, the war was in full bloom, and on July 4th the Continental Congress voted to adopt the edited version of the Declaration of Independence.  That document was the work of a five-man committee including Franklin, John Adams, and Jefferson.  Jefferson is credited with being the most significant contributor and the author of that illustrious and powerful document.  The British response was to send a fleet of over 34,000 troops to New York to crush the insurrection.

The British routed the colonists on Long Island and forced Washington to retreat and evacuate New York by September 1776.  He shocked the British with a surprise attack in Trenton, New Jersey, on Christmas night and won a victory that reinvigorated the enthusiasm and hope of freedom in the troops and colonists.  By the fall of 1781, the American forces had forced Cornwallis to withdraw to the Yorktown peninsula in Virginia.  Washington moved against Yorktown with 14,000 troops and 26 French warships which trapped the British blocking their possible retreat.  Cornwallis was forced to surrender on October 19, 1781.

Cornwallis claimed illness and send his second, Charles O’Hara to formally surrender.  O’Hara approached the French General Rochambeau to surrender his sword, but the Frenchman deferred to Washington who nodded to his second, Benjamin Lincoln to accept the sword.  One slight was met with another and the spirit of pride and independence has long lived in the hearts of Americans and is part of what has made America the Great Nation she has been and still is.

We are standing at another crossroads in our history and the entire world is watching.  This nation has long been known, the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.  We have long been viewed as a beacon of enduring hope, and a place of genuine promise.  On Ellis Island, Lady Liberty stands with her torch raised high and immigrants from all walks of life and all over the globe come and see that as a beacon of hope.  The American Dream was alive and has been thriving for over 240 years and is now in the cross-hairs of destruction and fundamental transformation.

Is the American Dream dead?  I hope not.  I am proud to be an American and proudly honor the flag that waves over this land and provides the symbol that declares our belief in Life, Liberty, and the right to pursue Happiness.  Former President Barack Obama went on a world tour apologizing for America and decrying the idea of American exceptionalism.  I took offense and still do when anyone verbally or visibly disrespects this nation, the land of my birth.

Tragically, many seem to have forgotten where we came from and what has made this nation the Great Symbol of Hope she has been for more than two centuries.  We did not become a superpower and a great nation by osmosis or accident.  It was the result of following the principles of liberty espoused in our Declaration of Independence and Constitution and embraced by our Founders.  It was more than simply having great ideas that have made America great.  I believe that America has been great, in part, because she has embraced good and followed key moral and biblical principles.

Have we failed and sinned, at times?  Yes!  Have we fallen short of the founding principles, at times?  Yes!  But America has been an international defender of freedom, and often a rescuer in times of crisis.  I would never insist that we have always made the right choices, acted morally or rightly, and pursued the right things with the right motives.  That assertion would be an insult to history.  However, our core principles and constitution are based on the right, the good, the moral, and provides the pathway to being and doing right.

I contend that on this celebration of our Independence we must remember that freedom must be passed as a legacy from generation to generation.  We must never lose sight of the reality that we are always one generation away from losing our freedom and liberty.  Essentially, we are always one election away from despotism, tyranny, and fundamental transformation.

Hard work, willingness to risk, and dare to dream have been key factors in our success but are not the real reason for our greatness as a republic.  Our real source of greatness is found in our recognition of our Creator and His granting us providence and inalienable rights that we have defended.  At our beginning, we dedicated ourselves to the purposes of God and until more recent history have honored God as the true source of many of our blessings.  We have drifted from those moorings and if we want to keep America great and free, we must return to our founding principles.

That is why I will vote in November to keep America free and therein keep America great.  I will vote against the globalists, liberals, progressives, socialists who want to strip from us our freedoms and liberties and become our overlords.  I will vote for President Trump and vote to defeat every liberal leftist on the ballot.

God bless you and God bless America!

THE AMERICAN CONSTITUTION…

As we near our celebration of America’s Independence from Great Britain the American Constitution must be brought to the forefront of our discussion.  Why?  Because it has been tarnished and trashed by politicians for too long.  It has been misinterpreted and misapplied by politicians and members of academia for too long.  In our beginning, everyone understood and studied the constitution but in today’s America, few have any real knowledge of that critical document.

We hear politicians and academics declare what they want it to mean and accept that as fact.  We hear jurists define what it means and accept that as fact.  In our formative years as a nation, the citizens from the most uneducated to the most educated there was the pursuit to inform everyone of the principles, declarations, provisions, protections, and prohibitions of that document.  Why?  Because the Constitution was the Law of the Land and America’s guiding document.

It is an incredibly simple and straightforward document.  It is incredibly easy to understand and can literally be read in less than half an hour.  If you listen to politicians, academics, and some jurist you would think it is so overly complicated that only those with advanced degrees in constitutional law could possibly understand it.  That was not the intent nor is it the intended reality.  Our Founders desired that everyone would know what was in it, understand it, and live securely under its governance.  That ship sailed long ago, and we have become ignorant of what the Constitution provides and that has allowed the devious political elite to usurp it and strip us of our liberties.  That must change!

One popular student text in our formative years was the 1828 Catechism on the Constitution compiled by Arthur Stansbury.  That was a textbook for elementary students.  The Federalist Papers testify to the simplicity of the Constitution and were written in 1787-1788 by Madison, Hamilton, and Jay.  They did not fill those writings with legal mumbo-jumbo and legalese too difficult for the average citizen to understand.  They wrote in plain language and were incredibly effective in introducing the constitution to the citizenry.

Elementary students mastered the Constitution and the most complex portions of it were understood by the average citizen.  They understood and sought to know, enjoyed the provisions, and were able to keep politicians in check due to their knowledge.  Knowledge is one of the greatest deterrents to tyranny and when we allowed ourselves to become ignorant of our Constitutional rights, privileges, liberties, freedoms, and the restraints on government we became the prey of the political ruling class.  We did it and they took advantage of it.

It is estimated that only 1 in 1,000 citizens can name the five basic guarantees of the 1st Amendment.  Those being freedom of religion, press, speech, assembly, and petition.  It is because we do not know the Constitution that we are oppressed, and our rights violated and infringed upon.  That is the reason that politicians are able to govern unconstitutionally and then redefine the Constitution to fit their method of governance.  They have been backed by the activist on the courts and even the Supreme Court has been complicit in the usurpation of our Constitutional guarantees.

For the first century and a half, the simple and uncomplicated philosophy of America was that the Constitution was to be interpreted with an Originalist or Original Intent view.  Thomas Jefferson wrote to Supreme Court Justice William Johnson a powerful guide that we need to reinstitute today.  He said, “On every question of construction, carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.”

Congress has long ignored that view, as have many of the courts.  Ignoring the constitutional guidelines, provisions, prohibitions, and guarantees introduced the Progressive Income Tax.  American ignorance of the intent of the founders and possibly in our envy and desire to shift responsibility from ourselves to the federal government to provide we adopted a Constitutional Amendment that made that action constitutional.  It is but it violates the Original Intent, yet it is where we are.

American exceptionalism is revealed in the Declaration of Independence’s first two paragraphs.  There are six fundamental principles found in the wording expressing the hearts and minds of our Founders and the Framers.  Let me list them and you muse on them and study them.

  1. There is a Creator.
  2. Inalienable Rights come from God.
  3. Government is to Protect our Inalienable Rights.
  4. There is an Absolute and Fixed Moral Law.
  5. There Must be the Consent of the Governed.
  6. We have the Right to Alter, Abolish, or Create a New Government.

Our first President and the Father of our Country, George Washington, in his ‘Farewell Address’ issued a warning that we need to be reminded of as we consider America’s future.  He argued that we must always be careful in our attempt to change the meaning of the Constitution.  He said, “If, in the opinion of the people, the distribution or the modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates.  But let there be no change by usurpation, for (this) is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed.”

Today’s politicians believe they can interpret the document and modify it without our approval and that must change.  Many of the jurists sitting on court benches believe they are the final word in defining the intent and meaning of the constitution and that must change.  Some presidents do not believe they are obligated or bound by that document and that must never be allowed to prevail.  If we will, once again, become informed we can reclaim our Republic and see her restored to Constitutional governance.  That is what I am voting for in November and pray you will as well.

God bless you and God bless America!

BALANCING MY FAITH and MY POLITICAL VIEWS…

I address this touchy subject because I have been challenged by fellow Christians and preachers over my political views and my being vocal about the ills and dangers I see.  Some of them believe that the Bible mandates Bible that I must passively comply and relegate my opposition to the prayer closet.  It is not my desire or intent to attack them.  I believe that they believe their position is solidly biblical.  However, I believe they are not accurate in their interpretation.

I believe that we are to “Pray” for the leaders, religious and civic.  I pray for them daily as do millions of other believers.  When Barack Obama was president, I prayed for him.  I did not pray he would succeed in his objectives.  I considered his political ideology and agenda bad for America.  I considered them a threat to our constitutional republic, but I prayed for him.  I prayed for his soul and still do. I prayed he would have advisers that would give him godly and right advice.  I prayed that he would have an epiphany and do the right thing.  I do not know how effective my prayers were, but I prayed daily for him and America.  I still do!

When I examine the proper Christian response to government, I turn to numerous Bible directives.  I examine what I believe I have been directed to do by the Heavenly Father.  It is from those that I pursue the pathway that I pursue.  You may disagree with my understanding and believe I heard what I wanted to hear not God, in my pursuit of my purpose and responsibility.  That is your right.  It does not mean you are right, but it is your right to have your own opinion, just as it is mine to have mine.

When I view the directive of God to Ezekiel, I have difficulty remaining silent sounding no warnings. Some consider my warnings nothing more than criticisms.  If I see danger, and much that is happening in American politics and throughout the world, can only be deemed dangerous, and I remain silent, am I obeying God’s directives?  I think not.  God directed Ezekiel to sound the alarm when he saw danger coming.  He informed the prophet that if he saw danger and did not sound the alarm, the blood of those destroyed would be on his hands.

When I consider the matter of abortion, as a believer, I find it impossible to sit in silence.  When I see politicians endorsing, embracing, advocating, and lauding the destruction of unborn babies as a good thing and a right, I cannot sit in silence.  If I consider the directive of God through James that the person that knows to do good and does not do it commits sin, how can I sit in silence when I see things like abortion and other things that the Bible deems abominations?

The politicians and political parties that endorse multiple genders, same-sex marriage, lifestyles that are anathema to the Bible are dangers for the easily deceived.  If I simply pray and do not sound the alarm, am I obeying the directive of God?  I think not, but you may disagree.

We have politicians and political parties in today’s world that seek to ban God and everything of God from the public square.  They insist that there must be a wall of separation between all things Christian and the political.  I say, all things Christian, and not simply all things religious, because they do not seek to ban some religions only the Judeo-Christian view and our Christian Bible.

The former president, Barack Obama, lauded Islam while blasting Christianity numerous times.  He claimed to be a Christian but sat in a church for 20 years led by a racist, an anti-Semite, hater of America.  His view of our individual freedoms and liberties was in direct contrast to the view of the Founding Fathers as expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.  Would I have been right to ignore the dangers embodied in those views?  I think not, but you may disagree.

When the disciples of Jesus were called on the carpet by the religious hierarchy and the demand issued that they cease preaching Jesus, they refused.  Should they have complied and “prayed for the leaders?”  When Elijah challenged Ahab and criticized his governance and person, was he in violation of the supposed edict to “Pray and Comply?”  How could we say that when it was God that told him to say what he said and do what he did?

When John the Baptist challenged Herod and his adulterous relationship with his sister-in-law as well as other things, was he in violation?  I think not.  It cost him his life and the easy road would have been to say, “Well, I can’t speak out on political matters or direct criticism toward leaders, I must just pray for them.”  He could not because of the fire burning in his heart.  He understood that God demands, holiness, and calls for us to ‘come out from among them and be separate.’  I believe that one of the reasons we are in the condition morally, politically, and religiously we are in America is due to the silence of the churches on too many things.

I am 100% convinced that what we need in America are not more laws seeking to legislate morality.  What we need is a change in the hearts of people.  We need a change in our attitude.  I believe it is imperative that we pray and spread the Word of Christ in the Gospel message.  I believe that what we need in America is a change of attitude.  When I realize that millions only get their information, news, or supposed factual data from sources such as CNN, MSNBC, or the other major media outlets, I see incredible danger.  If the Christians and Christian preachers do not identify the dangers and expose those endorsing and advancing those dangers blood will be on their hands.

I heard an illustration years ago about a soldier and chaplain in WWII.  The soldier was not a Christian and he went to the Chaplain troubled in his heart.  The Chaplain gave him a generic directive and said, “God bless you.”  The soldier looked at the chaplain and asked, “Chaplain do you believe in God?”   The chaplain was shocked and was insulted.  The soldier then asked, “Chaplain do you believe in heaven and hell?”  The chaplain was bordering on fury at the questions.  The soldier then asked, “Do you believe that people who do not accept Jesus as their savior will go to hell?”  The chaplain said, “Yes, I do.”  The soldier, with tears in his eyes, said, “Chaplain, if I believe that, though England was covered with glass I would crawl on my hands and knees to warn them of the dangers and tell them of the hope you claim exists.  You, sir, are telling no one, so I do not believe you believe what you are saying.”

If I believe there is danger and lives can be destroyed by the bad actions of government and government officials and I say nothing, what am I saying?  Let me reveal what it says to me personally.  It says that I do not believe God, I do not believe I am responsible for warning against danger.  It says, to me, that I do not believe the lives of those in danger are worth my daring to sound the alarm.  I would be declaring that I believe I have no responsibility to watch for others and that would, in my mind, make me incredibly selfish and self-centered.  I do not say that is how you should feel, but how I feel after prayer, studying God’s Word, and sensing what my purpose and responsibility is.  Therefore, I will shout from the rooftops the dangers I see and hope to prevent destruction.

You must follow your heart and the balancing of my Faith and my Politics is not always easy, but something I believe is mandated for me.

God bless you and God bless America!

UNCONSTITUTIONAL ACTIONS IN THE NAME OF BENOVELENCE ARE STILL UNCONSTITUTIONAL…

How’s that for being Captain Obvious?  But, Roy, if it is for benevolent purposes then that is different, right?  WRONG!  The Framers of the American Constitution in 1787 never intended for the money of the American people to be forcibly taken from us or the federal coffers and used for benevolent purposes.  What I am going to say is almost ancient history now in the light of the ever changing situation in America but I believe it is still relevant and needs addressing.

In 1794 when the U.S. Congress voted to appropriate $15,000 for relief for French refugees who fled from insurrection in San Domingo (now Haiti) to Baltimore and Philadelphia, James Madison disapproved.  He is arguably the father of the U.S. Constitution and knew the intent of the wording and provisions.  He said, “I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents.”  Where is Mr. Madison today?  He does not exist in the U.S. Congress.

The normal federal budget has surpassed $2.5 Trillion and at least two-thirds of it is spent on “objects of benevolence.”  So much for following the Constitution as politicians are so adept at insisting the other party do but exempt themselves.  We have had a few, precious few, presidents who held the sentiments and understanding of Mr. Madison.

In 1854, President Franklin Pierce vetoed a bill to appropriate funds for the mentally ill.  That would get him crucified today and probably impeached.  He said, “I cannot find any authority in the Constitution for public charity.”  He insisted that approving the measure, “would be contrary to the letter and spirit of the Constitution and subversive to the whole theory upon which the Union of States is founded.”  Wow!  Many Americans, if not most, disagree with those two gentlemen.  I do not!

President Grover Cleveland vetoed several congressional appropriations based on those very sentiments, insisting there was no constitutional authority for them.  If something is unconstitutional even if it is deemed for benevolent purposes it is still unconstitutional.  President Cleveland argued, “I can find no warrant for such an appropriation in the Constitution, and I do not believe that the power and duty of the General Government ought to be extended to the relief of individual suffering which is in no manner properly related to the public service or benefit.”

Mr. Madison and Jefferson both agreed that it was not in the purview of Congress to do whatever it wanted with federal money and attempt to promote the General Welfare.  They argued that if that transpired then the Government would no longer be a limited one, possessing enumerated powers, but an indefinite one, subject to particular exceptions.  They did not believe, nor do I, that Congress is afforded Unlimited Powers in the Constitution.

Today, the Democrats and far too many Republicans have gone off the deep end in pursuit of benevolence.  They are spending like the proverbial ‘drunken sailor’ and as though money was in abundant supply or grew on trees.  The relief or stimulus packages passed and the ones being proposed were and are laden with indefensible spending for indefensible purposes.

Yet, few are arguing the Constitutionality of the attempts.  The focus seems to be, “does it help me and my party in seeking reelection.”  That is terribly flawed and something that should trouble every Lover of Freedom and American Patriot.  If you claim to be a Constitutionalist or a Conservative and you support this insane spending, I argue you are losing sight of those positions. Go ahead and throw something at the computer screen and immediately find the unfriend button on Facebook.  That is my view.

Yes, I care about human misery and suffering.  No, I do not want people to starve.  However, I do not believe that it is Constitutionally defensible for the federal government to take on that responsibility.  Biblically, it is first the family, secondly the church, thirdly the community, then possibly the State but not the Federal Government.  Charity and caring for the poor and needy is not a constitutional function of the federal government.

I bristle at the prospects of my tax dollars being used to bail out incompetent and liberal profligacy those Blue States have engaged.  Some of them have virtually bankrupted their states in pursuit of their brand of benevolent spending and seeking to make their citizens beholding to the government for sustenance.  I bristled when Governor Gavin Newsom of California attempted to blackmail the federal government unless billions were forwarded to his state.  He has doled out millions in taxpayer dollars to care for the illegals in his state and wants the rest of us to bail him out.  His threat to lay off first responders should end his political career, but it won’t.

We have witnessed the rise of mini tyrants in various states and cities during this incredibly trying destruction of our economy.  The fear engendered in people over COVID-19 has opened the door for unhindered abridgment of our Constitutional Liberties and Freedoms.  The willingness of Blue States to allow the rioting and looting to go unchallenged is a threat to our Republic. Our Constitution has been shredded in more ways than can be enumerated, largely by those mini tyrants.

If the American people in those states reelect those, now openly despotic tyrants, it is difficult to sympathize with the good people of those states who detest what has been happening and want constitutionality to prevail.  I won’t be so callous as to say, “Move Away From There!”  Some cannot because of family, livelihood, and other reasons so they are stuck.  I weep for them.

Imagine, the people in those states who openly protest being called “domestic terrorists” because they want the constitution to be observed and followed.  Hillary Clinton and some of those governors identify them by that distinction.  If they are ‘terrorists’ then sign me up.  I call them defenders of the Constitution and Freedom and that would, in my view, make them patriots willing to fight tyranny at home and abroad.

In today’s world, if you disagree with the Left you are deemed a terrorist, a racist, suffer from some phobia, and are without empathy or sympathy.  They deem you to be a heartless Republican who wants grandmother to die and people to suffer.  They are authoritarians and totalitarians who apparently believe they have a divine right to rule and determine what we can or cannot believe or do.  They do not consider any rights as inalienable because they do not believe in the giver of those rights.  They are advocates of a global agenda that seeks to usher in a New World Order that is anti-American at every level.

I could never support a political party that wants abortion on demand, illegals to be afforded the same rights as legal citizens, and disregards our rights to personal property.  A party that bans God from their platform, strips any mention of the Bible from public venues, and ignores the founding principles of America I can never support.  Love me or hate me, I stand for Faith, Family, and Freedom and will do so until God takes me home.

Governor Abbott in Texas tweeted a chart that infuriated the Left but was refreshing for my eyes and heart.  I share it for your own perusal.

God bless you and God bless America!
