THE SWAMP – I Asked Some People to Define the Swamp and They Couldn’t…

BLOG POST 4 - Swamp

Please, don’t misunderstand me, I’m not saying there is no Swamp only that most people do not know (maybe I don’t either) what the Swamp really is or how vast it is.  Every time I hear or mention the Swamp (politically speaking) I think of the Gospel Song by the McKameys, “How Deep is the Sea.”  The difference in the two references (DC Swamp and the Sea of the Song) is one speaks of redemption and the other is an organism of destruction.  So, without attempting to fully describe, define, or characterize the DC Swamp, I will focus on some things that are part of that woeful place, organism, or organization.  It is far worse than any of the organized crime families of days gone by.  The corruption is far worse than most even dream it could be and is far-reaching, spanning, States and even Countries.  It has taken on a life all its own and you can argue that the Deep State contains the DC Swamp, or the DC Swamp contains the Deep State and the hierarchy is the only thing that changes, the players and purposes do not.

Over the past several years I have been reminded time and again of the blatant hypocrisy of the DC Establishment and the reality that virtually all the DC participants in politics are Swamp denizens.  One of the reasons it is virtually impossible to Drain the Swamp is those asked to do the draining are denizens of the very swamp they are asked to drain.  That’d be like asking the pimp to give up his ladies of the night.  IT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN!!!  The Swamp dwellers, the majority of which vote Democrat in every election all scream about “fairness”.  They insist that the rich don’t pay their fair share while ensuring that they are themselves protected from the taxes and penalties imposed on THE RICH.  They talk about “redistribution of wealth” while amassing fortunes for themselves in protected accounts, sheltered from taxation, and hidden from public view.  How’s that for fairness?

Do you realize that according to the Census Bureau that the wealthiest people in America live in the Washington, D.C. area?  You’ve heard that before, but it is true.  There is a chart at CNS News that lays it out in painful revealing detail and thereby highlights the incredible hypocrisy of the DC Swamp Dwellers.  According to the United States Census Bureau the five wealthiest counties in America, when measured by median household income are all suburbs of Washington, D.C.  According to that survey the new five-year estimates (2012-2106) listed the five richest counties as: Loudoun County, VA, where the median household income was $125,672; Falls Church, VA, where it was $115,244; Fairfax County, VA, where it was $114,329; Howard County, MD, where it was $113,800; and Arlington County, VA, where it was a paltry $108,706.  In fact, the report lists 9 of the top 20 richest counties in the United States are in the Washington, D.C. area.  Imagine that!  The Swamp is demanding that the rest of us “share the wealth” and they are absorbing more and more of it all the time.

I am always amused by the phrase the leftist often use, “depend on the government” which means “depend on the American Taxpayer.”  They confiscate our money to distribute (largely to themselves) and buy votes, bribe people, attack everything conservative and constitutional.  That’s right, you and I get to pay for their attacks on us.  How does that feel?  I know how it feels to me every time I have to write a check for income taxes or any other federal tax.  I know they are going to abuse and misuse those funds and there seems little I can do about it.  If I don’t pay the tax, I will likely go to jail, be financially destroyed, and then tossed on the ash heap of life.  I’m only valuable to them so long as I PAY TAXES.  If my income level drops below the point that I pay no taxes, I’m only valuable if I vote Democrat and if not then I’m am excess baggage.  They value you and me about as much piece of chewed gum after the flavor has been extracted.  Their attitude toward the unborn is reflective of their view of human life other than their own.  The Swamp Denizens are modern day monsters and as bad as any predator known to man.

I wonder, as do others if the so-called conservative Republicans realize where the money they agree to spend comes from?  It doesn’t come for some mythical pot at the end of the rainbow, and my money tree seeds have all been used up.  Those in the DC Swamp enjoy “golden parachutes” and “financial as well as legal safety nets” the rest of us only wish we had.  We, the American Taxpayers and Voters, have allowed working for the government and becoming part of the Swamp so lucrative and appealing it has grown incredibly large.  The sad reality is that many working for the government may not be ideologically aligned with the Swamp agenda, but their livelihood, position, and power is derived from the Swamp, therefore, they are willing to defend it rather than lose their cushy positions.  Hey, they say, “I’ll fight but don’t ask me to do anything that hurts my gravy train.”  No, they don’t actually say that with words but with votes and actions.

Bernie Sanders is a multi-millionaire and harps like he was a pauper.  His sanctimonious diatribe is sickening because it is not sincere or honest.  Elizabeth Warren decries corporations as being the devil himself and those mom and pop business as well as corporations that get a tax break which allows them to hire more people and provide more opportunities for others to dig out of poverty are GREEDY, but the protected class in DC is somehow righteous and philanthropic, right?  I get a sick feeling each time I hear them spin their spin and even sicker when I hear an average working-class citizen parrot their rhetoric.  HOW DEEP IS THE SEA?  If we are talking about Salvation, it is bottomless and that is wonderful.  But, if we are talking about the DC Swamp and Deep State it is deep but with God’s help and a unified, determined attitude and effort we can drain it sufficiently to make a difference.  I am under no illusion that we can ever drain a Swamp that has been being dug for over 100 years in one or two election cycles.  But, I am convinced we can pull the plug on some of them.  Are you in or out?

We cannot allow personal preferences and personality clashes with politicians prevent you from focusing on the big picture.  If we do, we play into their hands and in a backdoor manner become complicit with their objective and agenda.  I do not believe you want that.  So, let’s pray like never before, work like there is little time, and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE until we have removed those who won’t fight for us from DC.

God bless you and God bless America is my prayer and desire!
