WHEN POLITICIANS DO NOT FEEL THREATENED TYRANTS ARISE…..

            The more I study history the more convinced I am that the singular most important aspect of preventing Tyrants and Tyrannical governments is the people demonstrating their resistance to government control.  In the words of Thomas Jefferson:

 “What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance?” 

                 I am convinced that Mr. Jefferson not only feared American politicians and Presidents becoming like King George but he anticipated it and therefore on numerous occasions suggested that it was not only a right of the people to demonstrate their resistance to “bloated infringing government” but a responsibility to do so.  That is why you have such quotes from him as:

“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

            I do not believe that Mr. Jefferson was calling for frequent or even occasional armed rebellion but stated this as a reminder to politicians and the populace that the government of the United States of America is “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”  He was attempting to instill within everyone’s heart and mind that the government must be kept in a state where it “fears the people” otherwise it will evolve into an over-reaching, tyrannical, power grabbing, power-hungry monstrosity that will reach its tentacles into every facet of our lives in direct conflict with the intentions of the Founding Fathers.  I also believe that he wanted us to remember that Freedom and Liberty came and is maintained at a very high cost and we must always stand ready to defend it against enemies “foreign or domestic.”

            James Madison made numerous statements which give incredible insight into the mind-set of the Founding Fathers regarding the dangers of government abuse and the right and need of the people to stand firmly against such actions.  One such quote:

“I believe there are more instances of abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.”

             Mr. Jefferson and Mr. Madison were not the only founders who warned against a government that became “too big for its own good” and politicians who became or would become “professional power brokers.”  Benjamin Franklin warned us that by giving up essential liberties to gain a temporary safety net we abdicated our right to liberty or safety.  Samuel Adams challenged us to live lives of principle and grounded in morality telling us that failure to do so would result in the loss of our liberties.  He further suggested that so long as America remained virtuous she could never be overthrown but if we lost our virtue we would also lose our liberty.  Sadly, Mr. Adams was prophetic and spoke directly to this decade and decadent society that we are living in.  Some have suggested that if God does not judge America He will owe Sodom and Gomorrah an apology and base their assertion on the moral decay that is prevalent in our society on so many levels.

             Men like Noah Webster warned that before the government could become Tyrannical it would first have to “disarm” the citizenry and we are seeing a protracted and committed move in that direction today.  Patrick Henry was so passionate about having and preserving Freedom and Liberty he made his infamous declaration:  “Give me liberty or give me death.”  Alexander Hamilton made an incredible statement about the nature of man and the dangers of having people in political office who were not governed by moral principles, the Constitution, and concern for protecting our inalienable rights of “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness” among others when he said:  “A fondness for power is implanted, in most men, and it is natural to abuse it, when acquired.”  That is a warning that WE THE PEOPLE should take to heart and a sound reason to fully vet each candidate who throws his/her hat in the ring for any political office.  We need to know their character not just their political party and ideology!

             Benjamin Rush sounded an alarm that we have ignored and the ACLU and other organizations and entities have successfully accomplished when he said:

 “By removing the Bible from schools we would be wasting so much time and money in punishing criminals and so little pains to prevent crime. Take the Bible out of our schools and there would be an explosion in crime.”

            I will sum this up with another quote from Thomas Jefferson which speaks directly to the Nanny State that Barack Obama and the Democrats are pushing and the Republicans have fallen prey to and their repeated pursuit of a Welfare State will be the demise of this nation.  He said:

 “I think we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious.” 

             I wish I could wave a wand and correct the problem that has been decades evolving but I can’t.  I wish that one more election would solve the problem and we would have people in Washington that truly demonstrated the principles and moral fiber that the founders thought necessary for leadership but it won’t.  I wish we could create a political atmosphere in which there were no “professional politicians” and those who won elections were truly “public servants” but we can’t.  So what do we do or what can we do?  If I were totally pessimistic I’d say nothing and if I were utopianly optimistic I’d say just go to the polls and vote but I fall into neither category.  I believe we can turn this massive ship around and get it back on course but also believe that it will take decades to accomplish and I’m not sure we have decades.  So we must pray like there is no tomorrow, work as if everything depended upon us, and commit to paying whatever price is called for to accomplish the objective.  Anything short of those three things will result in failure for America.

             May God bless you and may God guard, guide, protect, and deliver this nation and lead us back to right paths.

THE FOUNDERS OPPOSED INTERNAL TAXATION…..

            In making that statement I will raise the ire of some and the praise of others.  They certainly, in my opinion, would not have supported a “progressive tax system” even if they approved an “income tax” and established the Internal Revenue Service.  If you examine the record and research the historic documents back to that era you will find some very interesting actions and statements by our Founding Fathers.

            One of, no the “first national revenue raising Act” was approved by President George Washington on July 4, 1789 – (Twenty Years of Congress, James G. Blaine, 1884, Vol. 1, page 185).  James Madison argued before Congress a fundamental principle concerning the power delegated to Congress to lay and collect taxes:

 “…a National, revenue must be obtained; but the system must be such a one, that,   while it secures the object of revenue it shall not be oppressive to our constituents.”  That Act passed by Congress was “a tax on specific goods” not “the constituents or their income.” 

             There was not ONE PENNY raised by “internal taxation” which is the very thing that Congress today seems to love and especially this administration.  Our Founders believed that those of foreign nations who desired to do business in these United States should pay for the privilege.  I am not saying that policy of “tariffs” would work today but I am saying that the founders did not support a “progressive tax system” on the people’s income.

            I found it most interesting when studying history in college and recently reading some of the writings of our founders and former presidents that Thomas Jefferson in his second Annual Message on December 15, 1802 said:

 “In the department of finance it is with pleasure I inform you that the receipts of external duties for the last twelve months have exceeded those of any former year, and that the ratio of increase has been also greater than usual. This has enabled us to answer all the regular exigencies of government, to pay from the treasury in one year upward of eight millions of dollars, principal and interest, of the public debt, exclusive of upward of one million paid by the sale of bank stock, and making in the whole a reduction of nearly five millions and a half of principal; and to have now in the treasury four millions and a half of dollars, which are in a course of application to a further discharge of debt and current demands.”

             Jefferson also informed Congress and thus the American people that they had suppressed “unnecessary offices, useless establishments and expenses, and thereby enabled them to discontinue “internal taxes.”  Yet, our government today has an insatiable hunger for MONEY and SPENDING and that beast will never be satisfied.

             I am not trying to tell you exactly what type of Tax System we should have for there must be some revenue to supply the basic needs of government but the bloated monstrosity that we have today is not what the Founders envisioned or we need.  I am very supportive of “limited government” and allowing the Free Market to operate and believe that with fewer examples of government intervention and legalized theft we would see a robust economy and a prosperous America again.  Whether we go to a “Flat Tax”, a “Fair Tax”, or a “Tithe Type Tax” we need a much simplified Tax Code and one that is not progressive.  I could be very supportive of a tax that would be based on “consumption” not “income.”

            Alexander Hamilton spoke concerning a “Consumption Tax” and said regarding that tax that it:

“… may be compared to a fluid, which will in time find its level with the means of paying them. The amount contributed by each citizen will in a degree be by his own option, and can be regulated by an attention to his own resources. The rich may be extravagant, the poor can be frugal; and private oppression may always be avoided by judicious selection of objects proper for such impositions … It is a signal advantage of taxes on articles of consumption that they contain in their own nature a security against excess. They prescribe their own limit, which cannot be exceeded without defeating the end proposed that is, an extension of the revenue.” [No. 21 of the Federalist]

             Of course no tax system will ever satisfy the desire for MONEY to fund all the programs that those in Congress seem to want to offer in “entitlements.”  If we return to what the Constitution actually calls for and what the Founders envisioned we would need far less money and I would even suggest to you that a “Consumption Tax” would produce more than our current “Progressive Income Tax System” and do far less damage to individuals financially and enable everyone to have some “skin in the game” and thereby would encourage participation by all the citizenry and would make it harder and harder for Congress and the President to INCREASE TAXES.  It would touch every American and those doing business in America and Congress and the Executive Branch would have to finally listen.

             I have offered some suggestions to my Congressman and both Senators from my state and am waiting on their counter proposals if they offer any.  I am also contacting other U.S. Legislators who I perceive might be willing to listen and encouraging them to act upon TRUE TAX REFORM and DEBT and DEFICIT REDUCTION.  In my own life, I have to live within my means or increase my means by getting additional sources of revenue (jobs) but Congress gets more revenue via TAXES so I want them to live within a “reasonable means” and not continually exceed it, increase it, and expand it for POLITICAL PURPOSES.  It is time that Congress and the President become “servants of the people” not vice versa.

NOSTALGIC ABOUT THE AMERICA I KNEW AND LOVE……


ImageI will wax a bit nostalgic in this post but as I attended a funeral for my wife’s Aunt at the end of February I could not help but reflect on LIFE and more particularly LIFE IN AMERICA as I remember it growing up.  Her Aunt had just turned 80 in January and was a retired 1st Sergeant of the U.S. Army with 21 years of service.  There were the Military Honors presentation and the American Flag given to the family.  As I stood there I reflected on my youth, my America, and my thankfulness for those memories and experiences and wept at the same time for future generations and even this present generation who do not know and likely will never know what we knew and experienced.

 

            I grew up in rural East Texas on a small farm with a dirt road in front of the house.  We worked hard having little of this world’s goods but we were rich with love, respect, and tradition.  We learned that “hard work” was honorable and that to give “a day’s work for a day’s pay” was not just honorable but the only thing acceptable.  We learned to respect our elders and other people’s rights and property as well as the environment.  Oh, don’t misunderstand me we were not “tree huggers” but we lived off the land and respected it and wanted to keep it good for ourselves and those who would follow as the generations before us had done.  We helped our neighbors when they had a need and didn’t expect nor desire the government to become involved in our lives with money, regulations, or anything else.  We wanted to enjoy what the Constitution afforded us, the right to pursue – LIFE, LIBERTY, and HAPPINESS.   What we had WE EARNED and appreciated it.  We didn’t have the technology that is available today and I’m not criticizing technology but when I see children today and even adults who spend almost all their time and energy on the computer, iPad, iPhone, Android, Kindle, etc. I remember my youth and the time we spent outdoors enjoying God’s creation and nature while learning some incredibly valuable life lessons in the process.  We made most of our own toys, were creative in developing games to play, and learned survival skills that few people today have.  We were self-sufficient although totally dependent upon God’s grace and goodness and thankful for His provisions on a daily basis.

 

            I thought about how little true and real history our grandchildren know today due to the revisionist history taught in the public schools and institutions of “higher learning.”  I have shared some stories of my youth with my grandchildren and they are completely amazed and I have talked to them about some Texas and American history and find that not only they but many young adults today have little or no knowledge of TRUE HISTORY.  There was a time when there was integrity in the media and what you heard on the NEWS was truthful although not always complete.  Journalist actually tried to report the news not make the news and spin it to fit their particular political ideology.  Of course that happened, it always has but it was not a totally blind regurgitation of the “TALKING POINTS” of the President as we have today and that only if the President is a Left-Wing, Liberal Democrat!

 

            We lived in a time when a “handshake” was a good or better than a “signed contract” because a man’s or woman’s word was their bond.  It was WHO THEY WERE as my parents and grandparents taught me.  I look at all the government regulations with regard to parenting and wonder how we survived and how our parents didn’t spend most of their lives in prison if what we had and they did was SO HORRIBLE!  It was not uncommon to hear the preacher declare from the pulpit something critical of a governmental action that was in direct violation of moral principles and the Word of God.  They did not fear having their 501-C-3 taken from them and their “tax exemption” stripped.  In my view, if that is what it takes to speak the truth of God then take it please!

 

            A government that can tell me what types of firearms, how many, how often I can purchase one, how many bullets I can have or have in my firearm at any given time is a government that can dictate every facet of my life and it is not a government that I want.  It is not a government that our Founders wanted and not a government most of our former Presidents wanted.  If they can do the aforementioned what is to prevent them from telling us what kinds of cars we can own if we can own one at all and how many?  What is to prevent them from telling us what size house we can have and even where we must live?  What is to prevent them from telling us what type of occupation we can pursue and it’s location?  What is to prevent them from telling us what we can eat, where we can shop, how often and were we can travel?  All that I have mentioned is part and parcel of Agenda 21 and The Sustainable Development Initiative that Bill Clinton signed off on, George H.W. Bush endorsed, and Barack Obama is ramming down our throats at breakneck speed.  One of the first things that must happen is to take our firearms.  Notice I don’t call them weapons because they are not weapons until used as such.  It is not about hunting it is about personal protection, defending our families and property, and being prepared to stand against a Tyrannical Government as the Framers spelled out in their writings.

 

            Yes, I am “nostalgic” when I look back at THE REAL AMERICA that I grew up knowing and loving and long to see that America again.  I long for my grandchildren to know that America.  I long for their children’s children to know that America.  Should the Lord tarry His coming for generations I want each successive generation to know the America I grew up enjoying and to live in it unencumbered by a HORRENDOUS DEBT AND DEFICIT that CAN NEVER BE REPAID.   Will I be able to see that passed on to them?  Time will tell and what WE DO will determine that.

 

            May God stir your heart for America and Him and may He protect, defend, guide, and guard this nation against all enemies both “foreign and domestic.”  GOD BLESS AMERICA!

 

I WEEP FOR AMERICA……

            As I was returning home Wednesday night from East Texas where we do a monthly program for the Nursing Home where our mother resides I incurred an incredible migraine headache.  The last 75 miles was almost more than I could endure due to the headache rendering me unable fully focus along with the nausea that accompanied this type of headache.  I was sick physically.  I went to bed early and got up late with the same persistent headache and nausea so again I was sick physically.  As I lay in the darkened bedroom I was overcome with “weeping” not because of the pain of the headache but for my country the United States of America.  Although I know that God does not get sick I wondered if maybe God felt the pain for America that I was feeling from the headache I was suffering. 

            I began to weep and that continued for most of the day as I would think about various aspects and conditions of our society, the government, and the deception that exists in this great land today.  I recalled hearing a lady call in on a talk show as I traveled back home on Wednesday and she would listen to no explanation or reason as to why her particular Fiscal and healthcare situation could be directly laid at the feet of Obama.  Her explanation was, “He’s black and he would never allow that to happen to me.”  When asked if she thought her comments were racist she replied, “No, only white people are racist.”  That made me angry initially and then incredibly sad and despondent.  I thought and prayed, “Oh God, how can this be? How can anyone be so blind to their own prejudice and bias?”  But, I see it virtually every day and not all the racism I hear comes from blacks I hear some from whites as well.  Liberal whites living in a “guilt complex” and wanting to impose that attitude on everyone else.  I also hear it from some that are on the other side and are so angry that they fall into the trap of categorizing every one of a particular race or gender in a certain manner.  Racism is alive and well in far too many hearts and minds and the President has encouraged that attitude in his actions, words, and demonstrated attitude as well as that of his Attorney General.  You can disagree and that is your right but that is how I see it.

            I see destruction of ‘HOPE’ for future generations due to the massive debt and deficit and the prospect that it is going to continue to spiral out of control to the point that we will literally be pushed over the edge of the ‘REAL FISCAL CLIFF.’  I weep for my grandchildren who, if this nation survives the next four years and  somehow the Congress and the next President wakes up and begins to move toward repealing some of the incredibly destructive things that have come out of this administration, I still wonder if they will have a future.  I wonder if they will, as we, look at the bleak dilemma our nation is in and begin to work to try to secure a hope for their grandchildren or great-grandchildren while realizing that there is NO FUTURE for them personally.  That makes me weep!

             I weep when I see a President who has promised to have the most “Transparent Administration” in history become so divisive, partisan, and secretive while clearly discernible laws are broken to hide information, as well as trashing the Constitution of this great nation.  I see the D.O.J. backing the President and vice-versa in ignoring the Rule of Law, the Constitution, Congress, and the American people.  I see his hand outstretched in friendship to those who would destroy us and his back turned to those who have befriended us through the years.  I weep!

            When it comes to getting control of the INSANE AND INSATIABLE SPENDING that is crippling this economy, destroying small businesses, and ruining millions of lives and hear the President declare that we cannot make a 2% cut which, is approximately what Sequester amounts to I weep!  The General Accounting Office and Congressional Budget Offices have identified several hundred billion in overlaps of agencies and programs and waste that could easily be cut and he laments that the dastardly Republicans are going to cause the World to End if they do not compromise and ignore cuts but give him more revenue.  When you realize that the cuts in Sequester would be less than the waste and overlap that those two agencies have identified you have to wonder what his motivation is for wanting to so deeply cut the Department of Defense while making no cuts to the EPA, HUD, or other agencies that he likes.  I weep!

            When I hear Republicans basically agree with him that Sequester is dire and dare not take place, I wonder if there is any hope for this nation and I weep!  When I hear people like Karl Rove attack the truly conservative candidates that we have elected and declare that only he and his billionaire buddies are capable of telling us who to nominate, I weep!  There was a time when Democrats and Republicans alike would ask “Is this Constitutional?”  There was a time when those on both sides of the aisle had at least a token interest in doing what was best for this nation and serving the people who sent them to Washington but that day seems to be gone forever and I weep!

             I am sick emotionally over the condition and position of our nation!  I am sick in my heart when I realize how far this nation has drifted from its foundational principles and core values.  I am sick when I realize that the seeming design of this administration and the left is to dismantle and destroy the opposition party, the Republicans and the Republicans playing into their hands and self-destructing.  All these are things that make me weep for my nation. 

            I dare not cease my intercession for the nation and the people of this nation.  I dare not lose my confidence in God and that someway somehow the American people will do what they have done for generations, rise up and stand together and stand tall to overcome this condition and situation.  I dare not lose my willingness to do whatever is required of me to help facilitate the recovery of our lost values, constitutional principles, and preserve our God-given rights, freedoms, and liberties.  But, as I work tirelessly to accomplish that I WEEP FOR MY COUNTRY!

             May God be with you, protect you, enlighten you, encourage you, and empower you to do what He would have  you do in this struggle both naturally and spiritually and may God deliver this nation!

AMERICA NEEDS LEADERS…..

            Just a few days ago I attended the memorial service for former Navy Seal sniper Chief Chris Kyle at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.  Although I had never met Chief Kyle, as a Vietnam veteran and an American patriot I wanted to attend to show my respect to a true American hero and honor his memory as a way of saying “Thank You” to Chief Kyle and all who have served, are serving, or will serve in the future.  It was a very fitting service done with dignity, respect, and class.

             I sat and listened to the songs, the prayers, and the words of friends, classmates, Seal teammates, and his wife.  As I listened I heard about a man who had managed to meld the difficult line of being a committed warrior and a committed Christian.  I also heard the heart of the man himself as various ones spoke about his compassion and love for his fellow-man and especially those who had given of themselves to serve this nation.  I do not know the name of the Lt. Commander who spoke about The Man, The Myth, and The Legend but his words resonated with me in a way that I will never find words to fully describe.  Chief Kyle’s wife’s heartfelt words will ring in my heart for a long time and I will committedly pray for her and the children.  Now for days I have had something stirring in my spirit since the service that keeps growing and crying for release.  I came away from the service thinking America needs more people of the makeup of Chris Kyle.  I guess another way to say it is AMERICA NEEDS LEADERS who have commitment, loyalty, integrity, courage, valor, and serve with honor.  We have too many people who are in leadership positions that have none of those qualities and yet we sing accolades to them undeservedly.

             If I were to compare a Chris Kyle to Barack Obama the contrast would be so stark and sharp that it would be almost frightening especially when I realize that Barack Obama is President of these United States of America.  From the reports that I heard during the service, Chief Kyle disregarded his personal safety on so many occasions in the interest of defending those he was charged with protecting.  Barack Obama, in my view, seeks his own glorification and gratification without regard for those he is charged with leading.  When I review the SEAL Code, that is relatively new, it is easy to understand why the SEALs are among if not the most competent fighting force in the world.

 In brief the SEAL Code states:

  • Loyalty to Country, Team and Teammate
  • Serve with Honor and Integrity On and Off the Battlefield
  • Ready to Lead, Ready to Follow, Never Quit
  • Take responsibility for your actions and the actions of your teammates
  • Excel as Warriors through Discipline and Innovation
  • Train for War, Fight to Win, Defeat our Nation’s Enemies
  • Earn your Trident everyday

    •              That is such a complete contrast to what I see in this President and virtually all members of Congress in Washington.  True Leaders have an unquestioned and uncompromised LOYALTY to Country, Team and Teammate.  True Leaders always serve with HONOR and INTEGRITY 24/7/365.  True Leaders are always READY TO LEAD and LEAD but are capable and willing to follow and have such dogged determination and commitment to that which they have been charged to oversee THEY NEVER QUIT.  True Leaders always TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for their own actions rather than trying to “blame someone or something else.”  They also take responsibility for those with whom they are serving.  True Leaders EXCEL through discipline and innovation putting others ahead of their own ambitions or desires.  True Leaders TRAIN or WORK with a commitment to defeat the enemies and obstacles of our nation.  True Leaders earn RESPECT everyday they don’t just assume that it is to be given without any action or commitment on their part.

                 America needs Leaders!  We need men and women in Congress, the Courts, and the White House who demonstrate, those qualities listed above.  We need people who will HONOR the Constitution, RESPECT the American people, DEFEND this Nation, and ABIDE by the Rule of Law.  We need people (LEADERS) who will set aside their personal ambitions and egos and strive to be what they were elected to be, PUBLIC SERVANTS.  I am now praying specifically that God give us LEADERS who embody the characteristics described in the NAVY SEAL CODE.  God give us men and women who will HONOR God, LIVE BY the Constitution, and ABIDE BY the Rule of Law ethically, honestly, with integrity and honor.  Give us that and America will rise to greatness again.  Take that from us and this nation will fall into a deeper state of depravity and go farther and farther away from the foundation upon which this nation was established.

                 God it is my prayer that you bless each person and guide this nation back to the path upon which you would desire us to tread sending us the LEADERS needed to bring us to that place.

    COMMANDER-IN-ABSENTIA…..

    In so many situations that defines and describes the sitting President of these United States not only now but back when he was a member of the State House in Illinois and while in the United States Senate where he was oft found to vote PRESENT rather than take a stand.

     

                ABSENTIA – is Latin for ‘in absence,’ or more fully, in one’s absence.  In the case of Benghazi and the attack on our embassy, the death of our ambassador and three other individuals including former Navy Seals he could only be referred to as “Commander-In-Absentia” because HE WAS NOT PRESENT and NOT INVOLVED in handling the matter as it unfolded.  I don’t just think that I take it from the testimony of the current Secretary of Defense in testimony given UNDER OATH to the United States Senate.

     

                When Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) asked Leon Panetta if he had direct communication with the President after their “pre-scheduled” meeting at 5 PM EDT, he said NO.  The assault on the consulate had already been underway an hour and a half by that time.  Panetta acknowledged that neither the President nor anyone else from the White House called afterward to check on what was happening.  Mr. Panetta said, “The Commander-in-Chief” left it up to us!  I am quite sure that Constitutional Law requires the President to give the orders militarily that would have been required but he was nowhere to be found.

     

                Mr. Obama has claimed that he gave “three directives” as soon as he learned what was happening but Mr. Panetta contradicts that assertion.  So who is lying and what would Panetta have to gain by lying?  Mr. Obama told a Denver reporter in October:

               

    “I gave three very clear directives. Number one, make sure we are securing our personnel and that we are doing whatever we need to. Number two, we are going to investigate exactly what happened and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Number three; find out who did this so we can bring them to justice.”

     

                His right hand man and compatriot in crime Rahm Emmanuel defended the president but my questions are as follows:

     

    1. 1.    Were those directives actually given?
    2. 2.    Where is the proof?  (There is always a paper trail to confirm such actions)
    3. 3.    If they were they must have been long after the attack not during the actual events.

     

    Senator Ted Cruz of Texas secured admission from both Dempsey and Panetta that they were not in touch with Secretary of State Clinton during the attacks and received ZERO HELP from the State Department.  They even expressed surprise at Secretary of State Clinton’s testimony UNDER OATH that she did not know about an URGENT CABLE from Ambassador Stevens last August about the seriousness of the situation.

     

    Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) received an admission from Panetta that no military action whatsoever had been ordered leaving the consulate on its own in the attack that lasted more than five hours.  When Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) quizzed Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan about why the administration did nothing to question a suspect he was told that Tunisian authorities had arrested the suspect and there was no provision in Tunisian law to allow the United States to question him.  I do believe that we could have exerted enough pressure on the Tunisian government to elicit their cooperation in this matter had we desired to do so.

     

    It is incredibly clear to me that Barack Obama the President of the United States of America for whatever reason did not care enough about the people in the embassy to be involved and take steps to protect and defend our consulate, which represent the United States of America itself.  Obama did NOTHING.  Clinton did NOTHING.  The Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff did NOTHING.  The Deputy National Security Advisor did NOTHING.  Not only did they DO NOTHING but they spun a lie to cover their FAILURE because the ELECTION was more important that our embassy and the lives of our citizens in Benghazi.  That is more than dereliction of duty it is criminal and treasonous, in my view!  Yet, sadly it seems that nothing will be done to HOLD THE PRESIDENT ACCOUNTABLE for his FAILURE in this or any other situation.

     

    God help us!  America and Americans if we do not exert enough pressure on our elected officials to get them to act we have LOST THE REPUBLIC.  I know many will tell me too late we already have but I must maintain a shred of hope that we can find enough men and women who are honorable and willing to follow the Constitution and the Law and DO THE RIGHT THING!

     

    Mr. Obama, I try to respect you but you make it impossible.  I do respect the Constitution, the office of the President but your actions are reprehensible to me and I have and will continue to call for my Senators and Congressman to take the necessary action to see you not only removed from office but tried for your crimes.

    What difference, at this point, does it make?”

                Taking from the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in her tirade when asked a difficult question about real human lives lost in their mishandling of the Benghazi situation she responded angrily “The fact is we had four dead Americans. Was it because of a protest? Or was it because of guys out for a walk one night who decided they’d go kill some Americans? What difference, at this point, does it make?”  That prompted me to do some introspection and reflection on the world, the Bible, my life, my faith, my country, and our current world.  Let me share my reflections.

                The first thing that I personally need to stress is three particular words used in that tirade and emotional outburst – “at this point.”  Does that mean that if you wait a few days, weeks, or months to answer questions about a situation that it is no longer important to get the facts and discover the root cause?  Is it no longer important to do a “fact finding inquiry” to determine who is to be held accountable and to insure that that type of situation will never happen again?  Is it no longer in the interest of the American people and our national defense to get real answers to real questions?  Does a brief amount of time diminish the importance of the actual events?  If so, we will find politicians using this OUT from now on and will NEVER get real answers in any situation that they want to hide, distort, or evade the truth.  Isn’t the object of an “inquiry” or “investigation” (and I know there is a dramatic difference in the two) to FIND THE TRUTH?  Isn’t that the obligation of a government official to provide ALL INFORMATION possible short of divulging national security sensitive information so that THE TRUTH can be discovered?  I think so!  So, at the beginning let me say:  “Secretary of State Clinton, YES IT MATTERS even at this point!”

                 The fact that we have “four dead Americans” causes it to matter, AT THIS POINT or AT ANY POINT now or 100 years from now.  The fact that the evidence appears to indicate that the President, Secretary of State, and other officials of this administration dropped the ball in this situation makes it important.  Did they do this willingly, with forethought and malice, I don’t know but it happened and as a result we have “four dead Americans” and many others placed in harm’s way then and in future situations.  We demonstrated an incompetence that will energize the terrorists who desire to bring harm to American citizens and American facilities throughout the world.  The end result, the way the subsequent reporting was handled, and the continual ducking of tough questions makes this look bad and for national security reasons IMPORTANT!

                If this administration failed to respond to repeated requests from this embassy for beefed up security it makes a difference!  If this administration presented outright lies or was so blatantly misinformed in the hours, days, weeks, and even months after the fact as to what really happened it makes a difference!  If ignoring the data that suggested that this embassy was in danger of becoming a target and the requests for additional security can be laid at the feet of Secretary of State Clinton or President Barack Obama it makes a difference.  It is the moral and constitutional obligation of members of the Senate such as Senator Johnson to ask the tough questions in an attempt to get to the “root cause” and find “real answers.”  To do less is to be complicit in what took place and endangers Americans in every part of the world.  So, Secretary of State Clinton IT MATTERS!

                This administration has stonewalled virtually every investigation that could potentially place the President, Eric Holder, or anyone within the administration in a bad light.  Basically, Hillary Clinton was echoing in words what Barack Obama and Eric Holder have been doing in actions when she asked, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”  She was only following the script of the Obama administration.  I would expect nothing less from her or anyone else in this President’s crowd.  He has set the tone and provided the script and they are just playing their roles.  It is up to us as citizens and members of Congress to press the issue to the point that REAL ANSWERS to TOUGH QUESTIONS and provide THE TRUTH!

                As a combat veteran, a patriotic American citizen, and a believer in the Constitution of the United States of America knowing how this administration handles things I WOULD NOT SERVE in an embassy today!  When you consider actions such as “Fast and Furious” where our own government put in the hands of drug cartels weapons, I would be hesitant to serve.  We still need real answers as to WHY this was done and HOW FAR UP THE FOOD CHAIN this goes, but we get by their actions – “What difference, at this point, does it make?”  In my opinion, they have demonstrated that human life means little to them.  It is my view that they believe that the end justifies the means and that their agenda is more important than TRUTH, THE CONSTITUTION, THE RULE OF LAW, or AMERICAN LIVES.  So, if I were in a position to have to choose prison or serving in an embassy I would refuse to serve knowing that I would have to be disobedient to direct and specific orders regarding preparedness and defense of the facility and personnel there.  I would have the same opinion I had when I overhead an officer instruct a sailor on the pier in Da Nang that he could not put his clip in his rifle unless or until he was fired upon.  I stepped in and told both the officer and the sailor – “Seaman, you can do what you wish but I would disregard that order as soon as he walks away and lock and load my weapon.”  I further stated, “Sir, you know that order is absolutely ridiculous and should never be given because by the time he is fired upon he will have ZERO chance of loading his weapon, thus you are giving him a death sentence and therefore I believe that your order is an illegal order.”  He agreed with me but stated that he had no choice but to give it.

                 America deserves better than what we are getting from this administration and I will double and triple my efforts to get my elected officials to turn up the heat and be dogged in their pursuit of THE TRUTH in these situations.  I believe that it is our moral obligation to find out what really happened and the blood of those who have fallen is crying from the ground for answers.  Few things have so disturbed me as the statement of Secretary of State Clinton, the actions of this President and his administration on things like this.  This is America, we have a Constitution, and are a nation of laws it is time that Congress and the Courts hold them accountable.  If they do not it is time that we hold Congress and the Courts accountable!  IT IS UP TO US TO PRESS THIS ISSUE TO THE CONCLUSION!

    THE 2ND AMENDMENT AND OUR FOUNDING FATHERS…..

                I keep hearing the liberals, socialist, progressives, and those desiring to BAN GUNS try to tell us that either the Constitution is outdated or that the 2nd Amendment should NEVER be applied to private citizens owing guns.  They try to tell us that only the MILITIA, MILITARY, or POLICE can have guns.  So I felt that it would be appropriate to actually find out what our Founding Fathers had to say on the matter of guns in the hands of America’s citizens.

    Let me give you a few choice quotes from some of our notable founders:

    •  
    • “A free people ought to be armed.” – – George Washington  (I guess the leader of our victorious colonial army and our 1st President is to be discounted too.)
    • [The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which American possess over the people of almost every other nation (where) the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.” – – James Madison.  (Of course he could not possibly mean today, that had to be for back then and not now.)
    • “Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples’ liberty’s teeth.” – – George Washington  (But Mr. Washington surely you didn’t mean people of future generations.)
    • “The best we can hope for concerning the people at large is that they be properly armed.” – – Alexander Hamilton  (Mr. Hamilton did you really mean citizens and not just a militia or military unit?)
    • ”And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms….The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants” – – Thomas Jefferson  (Mr. Jefferson are you suggesting that the government needs to have cause to restrain itself knowing that the people can and might do something if they government gets out of control?)
    • “No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.” – – Thomas Jefferson  (Part of shall not be infringed right Mr. Jefferson?)
    • “To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.” – – George Mason  (Mr. Mason were you concerned that the government might actually do that?)
    • “Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed, as they are in almost every country in Europe.” – – Noah Webster  (Mr. Webster it sure sounds like you believe that the 2nd Amendment gives citizens the right to have firearms.)

     Let’s not stop with these men why don’t we consider the words of a President or two:

    •  “By calling attention to ‘a well-regulated militia,’ ‘the security of the nation,’ and the right of each citizen ‘to keep and bear arms,’ our founding fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy… The Second Amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic civilian-military relationships in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of his country. For that reason I believe the Second Amendment will always be important.” – – President John F. Kennedy

    • ”The great body of our citizens shoot less as times goes on. We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world… The first step – in the direction of preparation to avert war if possible and to be fit for war if it should come – is to teach men to shoot!” – – President Theodore Roosevelt

    Now let’s consider some others including a liberal Democrat:

    • ”The danger (where there is any) from armed citizens, is only to the ‘government’, not to ’society’; and as long as they have nothing to revenge in the government (which they cannot have while it is in their own hands) there are many advantages in their being accustomed to the use of arms, and no possible disadvantage.” – – Joel Barlow
    • ”If gun laws in fact worked, the sponsors of this type of legislation should have no difficulty drawing upon long lists of examples of crime rates reduced by such legislation.                  Notice to all liberals, progressives, socialists, and gun control advocates your arguments are ludicrous and doomed to result in failure and if you somehow are successful in disarming the law-abiding citizens of this great nation you will empower the criminal element in a way that will make our nation one of the most dangerous places on the planet.  If you are among the elite that can afford or are afforded the privilege of hiring an army of armed guards to protect you then you may be safe but the rest of the citizenry will be in grave jeopardy and it will be your fault. 

                 I do not intend to be a victim due to an Unconstitutional mandate by a rogue tyrannical regime.  I will stand on my God-given and Constitutional Rights so long as I draw breath.  I suggest that you re-read real history rather than the revisionist history that you want taught in our schools and touted from your bully pulpits through the government controlled media.  WE THE PEOPLE may put up more resistance than you anticipate.  One can only hope that the American people desire their liberty more than your token handouts.

    THE GLOSSARY FOR UNDERSTANDING OBAMA’S SPEECHS….

    It would be amusing if it were not so serious that one needs a “Left-wing Dictionary” and a “Glossary” to understand what Obama really means when he speaks.  His teleprompter tells him what to say and the blind just receive it like it is manna from heaven while some of us scratch our heads and question what he said and what he meant by what he said.  You see, there are those of us who not only listen to the words but observe the actions and as the old saying goes – “Actions speak louder than words.”

                 There are a number of terms and phrases that I want to get to but first I found it most interesting that David Plouffe, a top adviser to the President detailed the broad plan of Obama for the next painful four years of his reign.  He prefaced his assertions by saying that they would “follow the voters’ demands” that include GUN CONTROL, EDUCATION, and IMMIGRATION REFORM.  What?  Where did I miss that part of the election?  If the information I have is correct the voters did send him back for a 2nd term but there was not a MANDATE because had there been the House of Representatives would solidly be back in the hands of the Democrats, it is not.  So, something is missing in this interpretation of what the election meant and mandated.  He continued the suggestion that while Obama planned to attempt to work with Congress that he would use his powers to do what they want done.  His clear implication was that what they viewed as needs done was what they determined rather than the actual need.

                The polls indicate that 73% of Americans believe that Americans HAVE THE RIGHT to own guns.  But if we listen to the Obama crowd one would believe that the opposite is true.  91% believe that the 2nd Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees the rights of Americans to own guns while only 6% believe it refers to state militia only.  But again Obama reverses this fact in his rhetoric.  Likewise 8 out of 10 Americans (83%) believe that the spending of the Federal Government is OUT OF CONTROL but per Obama the voters want MORE SPENDING NOT LESS.  Can he read?

                 Now let’s get to the meat of what my title suggests and consider some terms or phrases used by Obama, the Democrats, the media and ALL PROGRESSIVES and even a few RINOs:

    •  
    • COMPROMISE – – That simply means that a total concession and surrender by those in opposition to his views is compromise.  Compromise is not a two-way street it is a one-way avenue and if you do not concede you are a racist, bigot, hater of the poor, middle class, seniors, children, etc.
    •  
    • CIVILITY – – Again an easy one.  Civility means that those who oppose his or their views must play nice it does not mean that they reciprocate.  Oh no, their vilification, in their view, is justified because of the evilness of every conservative going back to the Founding Fathers.  Largely it means conservative white people but it is not limited to whites only for a person of the so-called “minority” who is conservative and expresses it receives even more hatred and character assignation.  It is okay for Obama to stir up “class envy,” “plays the race card,” and promote a non-existent “war on women” that the Republicans supposedly have engaged in.  It means that they can do or say anything but we can only BE NICE!
    •  
    • VOTER MANDATE – – Means whatever they want it to mean.  It has nothing to do with facts or results of elections but if they come out on the winning end of an election it was a MANDATE.  If the conservatives win it was a CALL FOR COMPROMISE and BIPARTISNSHIP.   They only see Obama’s re-election and dismiss the fact that the Republicans maintained control of the House, the polls, and the expressed desire of the American people to REDUCE THE DEBT and stop destroying the economy.
    •  
    • WORKING WITH CONGRESS – – Means if they will do what I tell them to do then I will work with them but if they don’t then I will bypass then “illegally” and use my Czars, various governmental agencies, Executive Orders, and Executive Authority to ENFORCE WHAT I WANT.  After all I am king or should be.  (I do believe that is his philosophy and mentality)
    •  
    • PROTECTING THE MIDDLE CLASS – – Means duping as many people as possible into believing his campaign rhetoric while finding a way to TAX US MORE and control more of our finances as well as our lives.  His actions are costing EVERY TAX PAYING AMERICAN more everywhere.  He has done more to hurt the middle class and small business than virtually any president in American history.
    •  
    • IMMIGRATION REFORM – – Means building up a larger voting base for his party and ignoring all laws and present regulations on LEGAL IMMIGRATION and forcing through what he wants.   It is a slap in the face to the thousands who have gone through the legal and lengthy process to come to this country legally and those who are still waiting in line following the law.  It is tantamount to going to the cemetery and issuing voter registration cards to the deceased.
    •  
    • HEALTH CARE – – Obamacare is an example of a Tyrannical Regime moving forward with their planned agenda.  This diabolical bill will ultimately destroy the Health Industry in America and those of us in the rank and file will be reduced to Health Care that is probably not as good as many third-world countries.  The elite in Washington will not suffer this fate only we of the “unwashed masses” as they view us.

                 America we are more than neck-deep in the proverbial creek and the level is rising.  Hip boots won’t do the trick because the feces poop, crap, etc. has risen and is rising beyond the point that we can keep our heads above it.  We are swimming in political refuse and unless there is IMMEDIATE ACTION on the part of Congress and WE THE PEOPLE we are going to drown in Obama’s new American Cesspool.

    AMERICA – DICTATORSHIP OR A FREE REPUBLIC?

    As of today I have officially altered my focus and will no longer be petitioning my elected officials in Washington, DC to do anything since they have demonstrated that they are not up to the task.  The House and Senate have repeatedly allowed this President who operates as a Dictator to bypass Congress, violate the Law and the Constitution and use Executive Authority/Order to impose his will upon America.  They could stop him but have chosen not to do so allowing him to effectively become a DICTATOR and therefore Congress has no reason to exist.  If Congress does not act then America will have become a Dictatorship due to Congressional Inaction.

     

                If that becomes reality then I will call for every member of the House and Senate to immediately resign and return to private/civilian life, lock the doors on the Legislative Branch of the government.  The same goes for the Supreme Court thereby shutting down the Judicial Branch of our Constitutional Government.  Barack Obama who is the current President, but I am sure would rather be called “His Highness” will continue to operate as a Dictator unless stopped by Congressional and Legal Action.  He is plunging this nation into a state where anyone desiring FREEDOM will have to make some very difficult choices in the very near future.

     

                I will turn my attention to the Governors and Attorney Generals of the various states and urge them to utilize the Constitutional provisions of the 10th Amendment and NULLIFICATION and thereby invalidate any action taken by this President contrary to the Constitution and if necessary join together in forming a New America.  That is a drastic call but one I see no other alternative to at this juncture.

     

                Barack Obama has declared that Congress is to unilaterally agree to his demands on raising the debt ceiling WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS, thus giving him a “blank check” to do whatever he chooses.  He cites his election as evidence that this is what the American people want.  However, many of those who voted for him have expressed concern about spending and want Congress to control and reduce the debt.  He does not see or acknowledge that.  He envisions himself as the Grand Potentate of this nation, feels he is above the Law, the Constitution, the Congress, the Courts, and the People.  THOSE ARE THE ACTIONS OF A DICTATOR.  His actions are no different from any Despot in any Tyrannical Regime anywhere on the planet or in history.

     

                He will detail 19 specific actions that he plans to take in his GUN GRAB and GUN BAN all violating the 2nd Amendment.  He will enact those by Executive Authority/Order bypassing the legal constitutional method prescribed by law.  If Congress does not STOP HIM then my initial assertion stands and they should IMMEDIATELY RESIGN and GO HOME.  They, by their inaction, will have NULLIFIED THE CONSTITUTION and TRASHED IT COMPLETELY.  I am more disturbed by their inaction that I am by his action because he is a Pathological Narcissist who is so ideologically driven that his actions are consistent with his beliefs..  He told us this would be his pathway to achieving his agenda.  So, like Hitler of Germany we had warning but Congress continues to sit on their hands and jockey for position in the Dictator’s inner circle while WE THE PEOPLE experience the robbery of our Rights, Freedoms, and Liberties.  I for one do not find that acceptable and so I turn my efforts to two sources:

     

    GOD – I will continue to pray that God raise up people who have the wisdom and courage to withstand this Tyrannical Assault on our nation and restore us not only as a Christian Nation but as a Free Nation.

     

    THE STATES – Where action is possible on a State by State basis to combat this assault on our Constitution and Freedoms by a would-be Dictator and his cronies.

     

    There are specific constitutional and legal ways for the passage of laws.  They must originate in Congress.  There are specific ways for enacting constitutional amendments.  The must first be passed by Congress then be ratified by the States.  NO PRESIDENT past or present has ever had or should have the legal or moral authority to do anything differently.  Barack Obama has gotten away with violating the law and the constitution so many times now that he knows that there is not enough backbone in Congress to stop him so he acts without any opposition making him a virtual dictator.

     

    America has transitioned from a Constitutional Republic to a Dictatorship with the 2nd term of Barack Obama accompanied by a Congress that does not have the intestinal fortitude to do their constitutional duty and STOP HIS TYRANNICAL ASSAULT ON OUR CONSTITUTION.  I realize that various groups will take this matter to court but with Congress demonstrating the unwillingness to act, it is likely that the Supreme Court will side with Obama and we will be left without representation in either of the branches designed as “Checks and Balances” to an over-reaching and tyrannical Executive Branch. 

     

    Those who supported him for the morsel of bread that he has tossed them will one day regret their actions because they will find that the morsel is not sufficient and there will be no money to continue their handouts.  This nation is already bankrupt and headed to economic collapse.  Obama’s policies, plans, and agenda will decimate our military’s ability to the point that we will not be able to defend ourselves against those powers that seek our complete destruction.  We will soon be under governance of the United Nations and Agenda 21 will be in full force in this once free nation.

     

    If we cannot get Congress to act, the Governors and State Attorney Generals to take the necessary action we will either find ourselves in bondage to a DICTATOR or we will have to follow the path that our Founding Fathers followed in securing our freedom.  I do not and am not calling for ARMED REBELLION or OVERTHROW of the Government but I am warning of where we are and what the result will be if we do not do everything in our power to MOVE INTO ACTION those who have the power to do something.

    So, at this point I see a lost nation because a large segment of the public has been deceived by a lie and a Congress that is so impotent that it cannot and will not act!
