I LOVE THE ILLOGICAL LOGIC OF POLITICIANS….

            Actually I do not but I need a good laugh and cry daily so as I listen to what they say, read what they write, and watch what they go I get my dose of ILLOGICAL LOGIC and move on.  It would be hilarious if it was not so serious and when I remotely consider the possibility that they truly believe what they are promoting IT IS FRIGHTENING!

             The incredible spin from the Congressional Budget Office’s (CBO) report that at least 2.5 MILLION jobs will be destroyed by Obama-care and that is somehow liberating and good is no longer amusing it is amazing!  When did not having a job become better than having a job?  When did not taking care of your family and depending on someone else become the norm?  When did being unable to find a job become fashionable and desirable?  When?  When this president and the politicians decided that they wanted to grow the Federal Government to a new ALL POWERFUL place, completely dominate our lives, redistribute what we have earned and saved, and punish hard work, ingenuity, integrity, and responsibility.  If this is an acceptable position in America and the World we are farther up the proverbial creek than I thought.  If this is acceptable politically, socially, economically, morally, and spiritually WE ARE IN DEEP STUFF!

            Then I hear the infamous Chuck Schumer Senator from New York promote the idea that as a compromise the Republicans should agree to pass the AMNESTY bill and it would not be enforced until Mr. Obama is out of office!  WHAT?  That sounds a lot like Queen Nancy’s proposition, “We have to pass it to find out what is in it” debacle known as Obama-care!  We know where that has gotten us, so why in the name of sanity would we want to take that path again?  The timidity of the Republicans is more than disturbing it is appalling!  When they have the opportunity to show the ‘contrast’ between conservatives and liberals in a way that is unmistakably positive they offer timidity, insecurity, uncertainty, and indecision!  C’mon Man!  The iron is hot STRIKE!

            What in Obama’s first five years suggests he would allow a golden opportunity such as a piece of legislation sit idle without using Executive fiat and Administrative Action to enact the legislation?  He would simply refer to it as what is effectively ‘the law’ therefore enacting it now would be the right thing to do.  The Democrats would line up to sign on and the Republicans would cringe in the corner cowering in fear.  That is how they have reacted thus far so why would I think now would be different?  I DO NOT!

             The Attorney General from the Department of Injustice as it should be called is using his office to legislate things to the States that are beyond his constitutional authority to do and directly violate the Constitution but no one seems to be willing to take him to task.  Where have all the constitutional legislators gone or do they exist?  Oh, I acknowledge that there are a few brave souls still in Washington but it seems that they fail to have consistency and gradually evolve into part of the problem rather than being a breath of fresh air for the constitution and WE THE PEOPLE!

            I pray for our elected officials!  I do not pray for their success in pressing their agenda but for their person.  I pray that somehow they will see the light and realize how vital the constitution is to America’s survival.  I pray that somehow they realize that the preservation of our liberties and freedoms is more important than their retirement, legacy, and political, social, or economic position.  I pray for America, her people, and her survival.  I pray that people will come to a place that political ideology takes a back seat to what is in the best interest of preserving a Constitutional Republic as the founders established. 

             We are on the brink of the complete collapse of our economy, our Republic, and our way of life.  I see this as much more serious than ‘just politics’ I see it as LIFE or DEATH!  Therefore, I will continue to plead for the constitution to be honored and for the election and selection of individuals who are not professional politicians but Citizen Representatives!

             America I love you and want to see you preserved!  May God bless you and may God bless America!

ARE THEY REALLY DOING THIS?????

What is ‘this’ you ask?   Is the Republican Establishment strategy to alienate the Tea Party and Constitutional Conservatives in an effort to ‘win’ the mid-term elections but only by a narrow margin and without the Tea Party or what they view as ‘right-wingers’?   If that is their strategy they are dumber than dumb and place the entire nation in jeopardy of not just another two years of liberal socialist left-wing rule but possibly eight to ten more years of it?  We can barely survive two more years and I’m not sure we can do that but eight to ten more years of this political ideological pathway we are on – NO WAY!

             Why would you pursue ‘AMNESTY’ although you are calling it ‘Immigration Reform’ and claiming that it is not a pathway to citizenship when you and the rest of us know that is exactly what this is or will be.  Why would you be so afraid of restraining Mr. Obama from his insatiable appetite for spending because you have vowed ‘no more shutdowns?’  Why would you ignore those that helped you reclaim the House in 2010 and want to alienate them?  WHY?  In my view there is only one logical conclusion – – You are Big Government Bureaucrats like the leftist and the only real difference is you have an R instead of a D behind your name on the ballot.  You want to feather your nest, secure you lofty position politically and financially, and you are more interested in power than people!  It is not ‘Power to the People’ but keeping ‘Power from the People’ that you seem to be interested in.

             I guess you, like Mr. Obama and the Democrats believe that we all have STUPID written across our foreheads and are!  It seems that you have lost sight of what the public really wants!  One of the things that a vast majority of the voting public wants is LIMITED GOVERNMENT or LESS GOVERNMENT.  Most Americans want the government less involved in our daily lives.  Most Americans want less spending and debt nationally.  Most Americans want our borders secured and America and Americans protected.  Most Americans want government out of their health insurance and health care decisions.  Most Americans want the Republic that our Founders established and we had for a very long time.  Of course, the recent elections and inattention to politics by millions suggests that you and the left are right.  We may not be STUPID but we have acted STUPIDLY.

            It would be criminal for parents to allow an irresponsible teenager access to the key of the liquor cabinet, keys to the car, and access to the bank account.  Yet that seems to be the approach we have taken in politics.  We have allowed irresponsible men and women who have demonstrated either a complete ignorance of the Constitution or an abhorrence of it to make policy, pass laws, and enact governmental edicts that are contrary to the Constitution and the Will of the People of this Republic.  Some of, if not much, of the blame for the condition we are now facing must be shouldered by those of us who neglected to stay informed and involved in the political happenings of our nation over the past few decades.  It may well be too late to reclaim this nation but WE MUST attempt to do so. 

 

            I, like many of you, have become completely disgusted with politicians on both sides of the aisle and want people in Washington that will be Citizen Representatives who will honor and respect the Constitution of these United States of America.  I wish I could offer a formula that was simple and easily executed to achieve this but it is more complicated that just saying “I will vote third party.”  We may be left with no choice if the Republican Establishment continues its self-destructive course which is abetting the statist leftist liberal socialist in the destruction of this nation or as Obama declared the ‘fundamental transformation’ of it.

            My plea is be INFORMED, INVOLVED, and NEVER give up the effort to restore the Republic!   America now and future depends on our efforts!  I am not fighting just for me I am fighting for my children, grandchildren, and their children.  I am fighting for posterity, for God and Right not just the political right!

AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE ACT aka Obama-Care VERSIMILITUDE….

            What do I mean?  Simply they spin what they are spinning and have been spinning about how ‘affordable’ it will make health insurance and health care as well as the fallaciousness of how many that are currently uninsured will now be insured gives the image that it is true but it is a blatant fabrication not supported by facts.

            Obamacare is supposedly going to extend coverage to 25+ million people who are ‘uninsured’ over the next DECADE.  Understand that this is not expected or intended to be an immediate eradication of the ‘uninsured’ problem as Obama wants you to believe.  However the Congressional Budget Office has issued a finding that anticipates at least 31+ million will remain ‘uninsured’ under Obamacare.  Please tell me how this law fixes the problem?  It only exasperates it lowers the standard of care, increases the costs across the board, costs jobs, hours, wages, and hurts the American economy and the American worker.  So how is it a good thing?  It is something that Barack Obama wants to hang his political legacy on and hopes that historians or revisionist will look back on it and give him a glowing grade somewhat like his receiving the Nobel Peace Prize for what they anticipated he might do and has not done.

            The real truth is the ILLEGAL ALIENS, or as they are now called ‘undocumented workers’ , for we dare not call a spade a spade we have to be politically correct and show how sensitive we are, will be the lion’s share of the ‘uninsured.’  This is a group of people that we are now subsidizing through ‘welfare’, ‘free education’, and ‘free medical care’ now.  WHY do we need to punish all American citizens with a disastrous train wreck law to do what we are already doing and will continue doing SUPPORTING ILLEGALS?

            How about those who ‘fall through the cracks’ of the Obamacare system?  Those who earn below 100% of the poverty level, or around $11,500.00 per year make too little to get subsidized insurance because Obamacare assumes that they will get Medicaid.  Yet, there are those who do not qualify for the subsidized insurance and do not qualify for Medicaid.  Those people are not helped and it could be argued that they are harmed by Obamacare and will be part of the growing millions who do not have insurance, cannot get insurance, and do not have Medicaid.  WHAT ABOUT THEM MR. OBAMA?  Oh your law fixes everything for everyone, sorry I forgot.

             Additionally, I am still incensed over the ‘exemptions’ that you have issued to businesses, unions, Congress, and others.  If Obamacare is the best thing since ‘sliced bread’ then it should be good enough for ALL AMERICANS not just some of us who are outside your special favors groups.  You, your family, Congress, their families, their staffs, all unions, and businesses, should have to have it as well or NO ONE SHOULD have to have it!  You cannot have it both ways and even if your ‘low information’ crowd believes what you say, you are DISHONEST and millions of us know it and are resisting.  We will continue to put pressure on our elected representatives to resist as well.

            This law adds or amends at least 40 new provisions to the federal tax code and the Kaiser Family Foundation conducted a poll and found that 77% say they KNOW NOTHING or LITTLE about what Obamacare is really all about or does.  You have shut down open air monuments, prevented WWII veterans and families from paying tribute to their comrades and family and yet you are spending $67 million or more in a campaign to EXPLAIN OBAMACARE to the public. 

             In your plan you claim that employees have the option to opt out of their employer’s plan if it does not cover at least 60% of their healthcare costs or costs more than 9.5% of their taxable income.  One wee little problem in this it is what some have called the ‘family glitch’ because the test of affordability is for INDIVIDUALS not FAMILIES.  Additionally, family members CANNOT GET subsidies in the exchanges if the worker’s plan is deemed AFFORDABLE.   What about that sir?

            In fact, the CBO projects that under Obamacare over the next decade, the number of uninsured will never fall below 30 million. Here are the year-by-year projections from the report:

2013 – 55,000,000
2014 – 44,000,000
2015 – 37,000,000
2016 – 31,000,000
2017 – 30,000,000
2018 – 30,000,000
2019 – 30,000,000
2020 – 30,000,000
2021 – 31,000,000
2022 – 31,000,000
2023 – 31,000,000

            Thus we find that Obamacare is not the cure all that ends all our health insurance and health care problems and makes virtually no dent in the problem only exasperates it and complicates it further.  The truth is that you are not interested in HEALTHCARE or HEALTH INSURANCE you are interested in CONTROL as the fine points and fine print of the ACA reveals when studied.

             Therefore it is incumbent upon us to continue to resist and insist that our elected representatives resist your diabolical and disastrous ideology and policies.  Americans want their America back!

THE ALTERNATE UNIVERSE OF LIBERAL PROGRESSIVE SOCILAIST POLITICS….

            I should not be surprised at anything in politics anymore but I still am surprised in the lack of attention and recognition by the masses regarding the shenanigans of politics and politicians.  I watched a video clip the other day of Hollywood Types being asked about Obama and Robert De Niro was in tears defending Obama, and some others were making statements to the interviewer like, “We both agree that Benghazi is bunk right?”  The interviewer did not agree and when he pressed the actor as to who was to blame and the response was, “The Republicans cutting funding.”  I laughed and cried at the same time because the Benghazi debacle that was either total incompetence or blatant treason or both had nothing to do with any funding cuts but with inappropriate or the lack of action on the part of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.  Then to make matters worse they lied about what transpired and are still doing so yet the public or the loyal followers DO NOT HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE!   How is that possible?  It has to be willing ignorance out of political bias!

            It seems that no matter how much scientific data is presented debunking Global Warming the liberal followers hold to it as though it were Divine Gospel and refuse to consider the facts.  When it comes to the Affordable Care Act aka Obama-care even though the vast majority do not like it and do not want it millions refuse to reject the liberals who promote it, crammed it down our throats, and loyally cling to it.  How is that possible?  It can only be that they are living in an Alternate Universe of political ideology and facts and truth are unimportant only their ideology and the candidates who support that ideology.  I find that disturbing if not surprising.  I truly thought the American people had more grit, sand, and intelligence than that but am changing my views on that front.

            When I hear Senator Chuck Schumer declare that the ‘Tea Party’ is the most dangerous entity facing America today and openly encouraging the IRS to put them even more closely under a microscope to target them, I wonder how anyone could possibly believe that right and okay.  Sadly, some in the Republican Establishment do as well.  Senator Schumer’s basis was that the Tea Party is anti-big government and a nanny state and the government needs to be defended because in his liberal view it is not big enough, intrusive enough, or enslaving enough.  The political elite on both sides of the aisle view the government gravy train differently than the average citizen.  They want to make us believe that they truly care about us and are acting in our best interest when what they are really doing is solidifying their position and power while building their financial and political fortunes.  It is about control, money, and power not about the people!  I don’t care which side of the aisle the professional politician stands they want to protect their place and position no matter what it costs America or Americans.  How is it possible that people do not see that?  It has to be that millions are living in the Alternate Universe of Liberal Progressive Socialist Political Views.  It has to be willing ignorance.

            Sadly, we were warned that when people find out they can vote themselves money the Republic is finished and we have not listened.  We are seeing the demise of what I believe to be the Greatest Nation in the modern world.  I will not say the greatest in history but in the modern world it has been.  Unfortunately, the path we have been on for decades with the hundred year plan of the Fabian Socialist and others, has led us to the place where someone like Barack Obama and the Soros crowd could step in and drive the final nail in the coffin of a Republican Democracy.  I wish I could say something that was more encouraging but I see the light at the end of the tunnel and hear the whistle of the train engine behind it.  I see the end coming UNLESS we IMMEDIATELY stop the madness.  How do we do that?  I’m not sure we can but if we do not band together in 2014 and 2016 the proverbial ‘fat lady’ will be singing and as Dandy Don Meredith used to sing on Monday Night Football – “Turn out the Lights the Party Is Over.”

            The only question is what are we going to do?  Will we just take it and watch our money stolen, our economy completely destroyed, the free market collapsed, and our freedom and liberty stolen from us or will we STAND UP and say NO!

THE COMING COLLAPSE….

            Okay, I guess you can now officially list me among those who believe that the U.S. dollar is going to collapse and the economy is going to tank into oblivion leaving millions in America and around the world in financial ruin.  I do not believe it is ‘if’ but ‘when’ this transpires.  On our present course in the United States with the insatiable appetite for spending, deficit, and debt a collapse is imminent and guaranteed.  Our path is unsustainable by the estimation of virtually all economic forecasters and seems to be a planned destruction. 

            I do not know how anyone can assume that the United States government can continue its unbridled spending, the Federal Reserve can continue printing money making the currency more and more worthless, and ‘entitlement programs’ and ‘wasteful spending’ continue without dire results.  Those feeding at the government trough of entitlements seem to believe that ‘Golden Goose’ of the Nanny State Federal Government has an endless supply of money and that printing money at an insane rate is not a problem.  IT IS MORE THAN A PROBLEM.  It is a disaster waiting to happen.  It is just a matter of time.

            I’ve had some tell me that this will not happen because the ‘power brokers’ of the world will not allow it to happen because they would be hurt.  If you truly believe they have not ‘hedged’ their bets you are living in Wonderland and should see the Tin Man any moment now.  I believe that the ‘money people’ of the world will make money if the U.S. dollar remains or if it goes by the wayside.  I believe that it is just a matter of when it becomes economically, politically, nationally, and internationally profitable to them.  We are virtually, if not literally, owned by other countries, the money and power brokers of the world.  If they deem it in the interest of their power, profit, and position to destroy the U.S. dollar it is gone.  We have reached or are dangerously close to the point of no return it would seem and if we do not reign in this spending and debt train within a very short time we will see what Willard Cantelon a preacher wrote about decades ago.  He wrote a book called ‘The Day The Dollar Dies’ and many believed it theoretically but not practically.  That is the same way that many believe the prophecies of the Bible.  It will happen just not to them or in their lifetime thus no real change in practices or lifestyles.  Well some generation will see the fulfillment of the prophecies and the collapse of the World Economy the only question is which generation.

            I read a report of one economist that said the talk of ‘hyperinflation’ regarding the British pound and the U.S. dollar should be viewed not if it happens but in hindsight that it has already happened.  He cited that if you bought a house for $20,000 in 1913 using U.S. dollars you would need $1 Million in today’s dollars.  If that is accurate or even remotely accurate we are looking at a devaluation rate of 98.5 to 99.5% of the British pound and the U.S. dollar and if we are already there where do we go to salvage either?  The Federal Government has been making plans to take your money including your retirement accounts and redistribute it to themselves not struggling people.  The government shutdown or slowdown was not about people but about power.  If the government does not continue to operate at its rate then the lobbyist, consultants, special interest will not get what they want and the legislators will not continue to become more and more powerful and rich personally.  It was never about us it was about them!  There would be ample funds to help the truly needy and do the government’s true constitutional duties if it were not for the incredible excess and waste that we have today in government. 

             If in your personal finances each month you charge much more than you bring in you will find that in a short time you are barely and basically just paying the interest on your debt.  If that continues to the point that the interest is more than you bring in you have a complete economic collapse and are destroyed financially.  The Federal Government is operating that way so what is different?  NOTHING! 

             Based on what I see politically, nationally, internationally, and biblically I fully believe a CRASH of epic proportions is just around the corner.  I fear for what I see happening if and when that happens.  The headlines will read:  “Panic in the Streets”, “Rioting and Looting Rampant”, “Chaos and Anarchy in America”, and many other descriptive headlines.  Hunger and fear will drive people to looting, murder, and viciousness that will be beyond anything most of us can fathom.  I believe that we are in more danger economically in America than through a direct military type attack and we are very much in danger of that due to our porous borders, incredibly inept foreign policy, and attention to terrorism.

            My message is not one that will cheer you up but I tell you now that if you can take steps to ‘hedge your bet’ financially against the decreasing and dying dollar.  Even more importantly I urge everyone to look to God because we are going to see a time, and I believe soon, where unless God sustains us we perish individually and collectively.  I believe this time will be one of the greatest times of revival and trouble that the world has ever seen. I want to be on God’s side when it comes and at the same time I recall the words of the Bible spoken by the Lord, “Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.”  We must do what we know to do and yet we must become so completely reliant on GOD that we live without fear!

             This government has demonstrated its lack of trustworthiness and I do not just mean the Obama administration.  We have as very small window of opportunity and chance hopefully and we MUST reclaim our nation!

THE SMOKE AND MIRRORS STATISTICS…..

            This is not a new revelation but this Administration is guilty of using what I would call “Smoke & Mirrors Reporting” of the economy, employment, and unemployment.  It is fictional at best and an outright lie at worst!  As I read the jobs report for December 2013 I noticed that the reported unemployment rate fell from 7% to 6.7%.  On the surface that sounds good but when you examine the numbers you scratch your head and ask – HOW?

             74,000 jobs were added in December a significant slowdown of reported jobs increases over the past few months and is the smallest number since January 2011 so how did the unemployment rate drop?  That is easy one to answer – 347,000 dropped out of the labor force completely and are no longer looking for work so they do not count anymore!  Convenient isn’t it?  This is so fictional and so smoke and mirrors that is should have everyone including the lame stream media up in arms over the fictionality but they aren’t.  In fact, few are even mentioning it anymore as this has become so the norm it is now accepted and that is tragic.  A lie is being sold to the public and millions believe it that we are RECOVERING and people are going back to work in droves.  If that is the case then why the need for extending ‘unemployment benefits’ another year?

            The average workweek also fell from 34.5 hours to 34.4 and the underemployment rate including part-timers who want full-time work and those who no longer are looking, and the unemployed is reported as being 13.1%.  That is a much more realistic number than the fictional 6.7% unemployment.  I would suggest that 13.1% does not scratch the surface of the real number if everyone who is employable and those underemployed were calculated but alas that would be the real world not the world of fictional politics.

            There was even a drop in the construction industry of approximately 16,000 jobs so I must ask even with the winter weather does that sound like a ‘boom’?  We did see that there were 40,000 temporary jobs added but does that suggest that the jobs market is coming back?  Not really, it suggests that employers are utilizing this vehicle as a means to take care of a situation or need and allows them to avoid the costs of benefits for those employees and an easy means of releasing them without additional costs.  It sounds like a stagnant economy and jobs market to me, but then I try to live in the real world not the fictional one that the President and most politicians seem to live in.

            I have to ask, “If the unemployment rate is the best it has been since 2008 why do we need to keep extending unemployment benefits that we cannot afford and do not create jobs?”  I saw that someone stated on Facebook that if Obama had not acted in five years we would be screaming about his inaction.  I thought ‘You are sure right.  We would be shouting Hallelujah!  The economy would be coming back or be back.  The incessant assault on the private sector, our civil and constitutional liberties would not be so prevalent.  We would be moving toward a smaller and more limited government if he had not done what he has done.’  So in that light the person that touted how Socialism is working in Germany and Denmark and other parts of the world can believe that if they choose but reality and history informs us that Socialism and Communism has not, does not, and will not work.  It works on paper not in reality!

             I don’t know about you but I’m tired of the exhausting parade of ‘smoke and mirror’ statistics and reports that keep coming.  Let’s stop playing games with numbers and face the fact that America is in trouble, deeply in debt, and in desperate need of putting the federal government on a fiscal diet and reducing its size.  We need a constitutional revival in this land and it can only come as WE THE PEOPLE exert our influence, make our voices heard, and fire the politicians who ignore us.

THERE IS A METHOD TO THEIR MADNESS….

            Dr. Larry Arnn, President of Hillsdale College published an article in the Imprimis, December 2013, Volume 42, Number 12 entitled, “A Rebirth of Liberty and Learning” in which he describes the ‘Two Ways of Education and Two Ways of Governing.’  Both provide some incredibly timely and salient points that all Americans should read and allow to sink in for they describe why we are where we are and the dangers of being there.

             I want to focus on the ‘governing’ portion although the education portion gave me much to think about, something in the ‘governing’ part caused me to think about ‘what’ and ‘why’ politicians are doing what they are doing and how it is affecting America, Americans, and our Constitution.  There is truly a ‘method to their madness’ and it is so heinous that words are inadequate to describe.  What they are doing and why they are doing it, in my view, should cause every American who cares about Liberty & Freedom to immediately commit themselves to becoming involved in restoring our republic.  It will not, but should!

            Dr. Arnn so eloquently stated the contrast between the old constitutional way of governing and the new progressive, statist, liberal, oligarchical, and politically elite way.  One of the things he highlighted was how simple the laws used to be.  Bear in mind that a Law passed by Congress and signed into law by the President are laws that we are to be ‘governed’ by.  How can we obey or operate under laws that we do not understand and those charged with enforcing them cannot understand?  That is part of their objective!  They keep us in the dark and confused and they can manipulate the law and we the people according to their agenda, objective, and political ideology.  Ignorance is not bliss it is ignorance!

             When you consider that the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the Northwest Ordinance, and the Constitution of the United States of America are all under 4,500 words in length compared to the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare which without the rules, regulations, etc. weighs in at 363,086 words.  This law, as Dr. Arnn states, is not a law but something much more sinister and the public, congress, the IRS, the bureaucrats, the insurance industry or the health care providers understand it.  HOW CAN YOU OPERATE UNDER IT?

            James Madison who is frequently identified as the ‘Father of the U.S. Constitution’ suggested in his Federalist Papers that the Constitution receives its authority from the principles of the Declaration of Independence.  That was the common view of his day and should be in ours but it is not in the minds of the Progressives, Liberals, Statist, and Political Elite. 

 “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among those are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.  That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their powers from the consent of the governed…  That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of those ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government…”

            When you contrast that with the belief of the current President of the United States of America Barack H. Obama as revealed in his book of 2006, “The Audacity of Hope” it is startling.

“Implicit in [the Constitution’s] structure, in the very idea of ordered liberty, was a rejection of absolute truth, the infallibility of any idea or ideology or theology or ‘ism’, any tyrannical consistency that might lock future generations into a single, unalterable course…”

            I stand with Dr. Arnn in asking, “How did Barack Obama come to believe something so foreign to America’s heritage as that in the name of liberty we must reject absolute truths, which essentially include rejecting those truths included in the Declaration of Independence?”

            Their purpose is to ‘keep us in the dark’ so they can ‘manipulate’ us.  If the public becomes informed and is cognizant of what is really happening, understands the laws, rules, and regulations that are so voluminous from Washington THEY LOSE THEIR CONTROL.  They must keep us ‘ignorant’ or “uniformed” in order to practice their deception and move us closer and closer to a Tyrannical Despotic Government in which we are literally pawns and serfs of the government and subjected to the whims, whishes, and desires of the political elite or as they view themselves THE TRUE RULING CLASS and RIGHTFUL OVERSEERS.  I do not view them that way and neither should you.  The Constitutional form of Government that we have derives the authority to govern from those being governed and we have dramatically shifted from that to a government that does not listen and is not responsive to WE THE PEOPLE. 

             We MUST change that or we will soon have a republic in name only if we have that!   May God bless you and may God bless America!

ARE WE WITNESSING THE DEMISE OF AMERICA????

            I see something developing that if I am right in what I see will lead to Democrat dominance in Washington for long enough to totally dismantle America and precipitate the ultimate demise of our beloved nation. What I am going to say is probably not going to set will with many on both sides of the aisle and I am not trying to tell anyone to do anything differently than what their heart and conscience tells them to do only pointing out what I see happening as a result.

             What I see happening is a situation where the Democrats have become so extremist in their reach to the far left, liberalism, progressivism, socialism, and entitlement and the Republican establishment has demonstrated such willingness to compromise that a situation has developed which will likely destroy America.  The situation has become so dire that many who are so dissatisfied with the status quo and the current crop of politicians in DC they will not vote for a Republican unless that candidate is super conservative and/or constitutional in all things, at all times, and in all situations.  I am not saying that attitude is wrong only that the result will be that the Republican and the Third Party Candidate will lose to the Democrat leading to the Democrats taking total control of the White House and both Houses of Congress and with the current mentality they will dismantle the Constitution and the Country.

            Again, I am not saying you are wrong in this attitude or action only pointing out what I see happening or likely to happen.  I do not blame anyone for the feeling of disgust and determination to NOT VOTE for any Republican, RINO or Democrat I blame the Republican Establishment and the Liberal Democrats for this condition.  It angers me to the core of my being and saddens me more than words can express.  I too am disgusted and fed up with the Republicans being nothing more than Democrat Lites most of the time.  I am disgusted with the Congressional ignoring of the Constitution and the voice of the people of this great nation.  I am disgusted with the rapid fall of this nation over the past five years and know that the path we are currently on will ultimately lead to the Demise of America.

             HEAR ME PLEASE!  I am not suggesting that you compromise your beliefs or convictions and simply put a Republican in office who might turn out to be at best a part-time constitutional conservative and at worst a RINO but I am saying that the condition and situation we are now is, likely to lead to Obama’s completion of his objective to ‘fundamentally transform America,’ gutting out Constitution, Congress, and stripping us of our Rights and Freedoms. 

             I wish I could tell you that if we all set aside our convictions and vote Republican things would be different and we could save America, I cannot.  I wish I could tell you that there will be candidates that we can rally around who will espouse the principles of Freedom and Liberty that we know and hold dear, I cannot.  I wish I could tell you that I see a knight in shining armor riding out of obscurity and leading the constitutional conservatives to victory and control of both houses of congress as well as the White House, but I cannot.  We are in a mess and the mess is not going to be cleaned up in an election cycle or two but the nation can be lost in just a couple of elections.  THESE ARE DIRE TIMES!

            Those of the ideology and ilk of Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Chuck Schumer, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and others will destroy America in short order if not stopped.  HOW DO WE STOP THEM?  I wish I could give you a reliable plan but the only reliable plan I can offer is ‘intercessory prayer’ because I do not see the unification of the Republican Party around constitutional principles and I do not see a transformation of the Democrat Party around those principles.  I see the professional political elite becoming more and more of an oligarchy and relegating the populace more and more to serfdom.  We will soon have some major decisions to make and I hope that we each make them carefully and prayerfully considering all the possibilities resulting from our decisions.  THAT IS ALL I AM ASKING!

            I sound the alarm and know that some will say I am being nothing more than a ‘Doomsday Prophet’ and an ‘Alarmist.’  I hope I am wrong in what I see and hope that candidates rise from the ashes of the political fodder that will demonstrate the principles, character, and qualities that will preserve and restore this nation to the Constitutional Republic status that it enjoyed for the first 100 plus years of its existence and has maintained until the past few decades.  I pray for a miracle!

RESISTING GOVERNMENTAL TYRANNY AS A CHRISTIAN…..

            I have repeatedly and frequently been castigated and vilified by some fellow Christians for speaking against the government and government officials when I believe they are violating ‘moral decency’, ‘ethical principles’, ‘biblical guidelines’, and ‘the constitution’.  I believe that I am on solid ground scripturally, morally, ethically, constitutionally, and personally in what I do but others disagree and the most often basis is to cite Romans 13 as a direct command against what I do.  I want to look at that and ask a few questions in my consideration of ‘resisting governmental tyranny as a Christian.’

To be completely fair and honest I must cite the aforementioned biblical passage.

 Romans 13:1-4 – “Let every soul be subject to the higher powers.  For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.  Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.  For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: For he is the minister of God to thee for good.  But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”

            If we can come to an agreeable definition of ‘rebellion’ we can proceed with a civil discussion.  Hopefully you will accept the following definition:  “Rebellion is the disobedience to a lawful order and a lawful authority.”  If a police car turns on its red light I must stop.  That would be a lawful order by a lawful authority.  Likewise can we agree that “Rebellion IS NOT disobedience to an unlawful order or unlawful authority”?

             Not to make this totally a sermon, if you consider Acts 5 when Peter and the apostles were called on the carpet before the ‘governing authority’ and told to ‘cease preaching Jesus’ they responded, “NO, we ought to obey God rather than man.”  Were they wrong?  Likewise, when the Founding Fathers and Colonist including many in the ministry stood against the Tyranny of the British Crown because, in their view, the Crown had violated their God-given right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, were they wrong?  

The Declaration of Independence states:

“Any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute New Government.” 

             Clearly they believed that if the government violates man’s inalienable right it is not only okay to protest, criticize, but even abolish that government. The list of grievances against the Crown was lengthy and many preachers stood in their pulpits and encouraged the colonist to ‘resist’ and considered resistance ‘obedience’ to God and God’s Word!  Romans 13 cannot be used as an ‘excuse for despotism’ and the violation of basic human rights.  In fact, I would suggest that the Bible throughout directs us to ‘resist’ such a government and to encourage people to ‘resist.’

            If, as many have challenged, Christians cannot resist government then what shall we do with America for clearly the colonist did just that.  The British Crown was the official government and had official rule over them and they spoke out, criticized, and came together in open rebellion in order to secure independence and freedom.  If the contention that we are forbidden to do so then the United States of America was formed in direct violation of God’s Word and is a cursed nation or should be.  I do not believe that I believe the contrary that America has been a blessed nation and God’s hand was seen in the liberation of this nation.

            How about Nazi Germany?  It was the official elected government of Germany and Hitler was the official elected leader of that nation.  Yet, preachers such as Karl Barth, and Dietrich Bonhoeffer preached against the Nazi regime and Hitler.  Were they wrong?  Should Nazi Germany still be the controlling government of that nation today even in the face of the horrific atrocities in the holocaust and beyond!  I think not and do not believe that those who castigate me and other believers for our political involvement believe that either.

             Martin Luther King, Jr. resisted the government and the law of the land in his pursuit of ‘Civil Rights’ was he wrong?  If Romans 13 forbids us for speaking against government then what do we do with the criticism and outcry against those nations with horrible human rights violations and our involvement in any war in history?  We were coming against evil but if that evil is God’s minister and we are forbidden to stand against it then we were opposing God and are in the wrong.  I do not believe we are muzzled in those nor do I believe you do either. Yet, when this nation, our leaders, and government violates the human rights, tramples on our Constitution, wages war against the Christian faith in its mandates, edicts, and actions are we to sit silent?  How can I?  How can I watch my fellow citizens be tyrannized regardless of what political party is doing the tyrannizing?  How can I, as a follower of Christ not allow ‘righteous indignation’ to rise up in my heart and cry out against WICKEDNESS and EVIL?

            Now, I understand that we may differ on what we believe to be wicked and evil and that is fine but to tell us that we are forbidden for speaking out against what we believe to be direct violations of our American Constitution and God’s Word while violating our God-given rights and freedoms I believe is wrong.  I pray for those that are in power. I pray for their souls.  I pray for their enlightenment.   I pray that God will guide their actions and footsteps into the paths that He has chosen.  I pray that they come to Christ and allow morality to govern their lives.  I pray for them and pray for this nation but I cannot sit silent when I see evil running rampant for if I do then I believe that the words of Ezekiel apply to me and God will hold me accountable for the blood of the innocent that I failed to warn. 

             If you believe I am totally wrong then pray for my enlightenment.  If this allows you to understand why I am who I am and why I do what I do then God bless you and pray for me.  I want nothing but the best for this nation and our people and for the world for that matter.  I wish no ill upon anyone and hate no one but I must resist evil.

SOCIETAL PARADIGM SHIFT?

            I have been thinking and embarked on a research project posed by the question: “Have we experienced a paradigm shift in society from morality to personality?”  I really do believe that the question is germane to the discussion and consideration of most everything we humans face and experience in today’s world.  If this has happened it has happened in the political, social, relational, economic, spiritual, and political worlds.  Are there any examples of it that we can hang our hats on?  Is there any evidence that suggests that such a shift has happened?  What exactly are we talking about in a ‘paradigm shift from morality to personality’?  I probably cannot answer all those questions yet and will not attempt to only identify some of what set me on this journey. 

             What caused me to ask this question and embrace this thought was my observation in the entertainment, sports, media, and  segments of our society the ‘cult-like’ following that Barack Obama has received.  That made me question our society on this front.  When people begin to adopt a ‘cult-like’ worship and following of a person or ideology they are absolutely unable to see the flaws of the individual or ideology and those kinks in the armor or argument become so inconsequential that they are ignored or dismissed.  Mr. Obama has been the beneficiary of that kind of following even when he advanced policies that are diametrically opposite of the belief of most in the Christian Faith, yet many who are followers of Christ follow Mr. Obama and support him unquestioningly.  I’ve observed preachers who stand by him even though his political ideology stands as an affront to what they preach and write about.  Yet, the ‘morality’ they call for in sermon and print takes a back seat to the ‘personality’ embodied in the president.  There can be any number of reasons including race for this phenomenon but it begs the question, “Have we had a paradigm shift from morality to personality?”

            Some have undertaken to examine this from the perspective of “Moral Hypocrisy” and “Moral Inconsistency” as an explanation of where we are and the condition of the human heart and thought.  They certainly have some valid arguments and we see a tremendous amount of both ‘moral hypocrisy and inconsistency’ in the political world today.  Most of us have heard or been told ‘practice what you preach’ and that has been the foundational definition for hypocrisy.  Most are put off when anyone ‘says one thing and does another’ or as the old saying, ‘do as I say not as I do’ we view that hypocritical and are correct.  Politicians are notorious for that and most dismiss it because we ‘expect’ politicians to be hypocritical when it comes to campaign promises.

             There was a time in our society when we not only expected but demanded that political figures, business leaders, and religious leaders be ‘consistent’ in their display of morality and were not swayed by the personality.  Today whether it is sports figures, movie stars, entertainers, or political figures we seem to be far less concerned about ‘morality’ than we are about ‘personality.’  Could that be a result of a paradigm shift in our society where ‘morality’ is of a lesser worth today than a charismatic personality that can be worshipped to some degree?

            I saw a study (I do not recall who did the study) that was done where a group of individuals were given the option of flipping a coin in order to make a decision upon assigning particular tasks to themselves or an unknown person.  It turned out that about half of the participants opted for the coin flip but when the results were tabulated 90% of those who flipped the coin reported that they received favorable tasks for themselves.  That was the same percentage as those who arbitrarily made the decision.  That is suggestive that those who opted for the coin flip but skewed the results were seeking to ‘appear fair’ but in reality were being hypocritical.  That is so true in the political world today that it is alarming.  Yet, because it seems that we have made a paradigm shift from morality to personality when the president or some other political figure opts for that ‘apparent fairness’ when fairness is not even part of the equation they receive ‘cult-like’ approval.  The personality rises far above the morality and the hypocrisy is totally ignored.

             If I am right and we have made a paradigm shift from morality to personality in our society we are in deep trouble as a people, a nation, and a world.  As a Christian this is deeply troubling to me because I see it not just in the political but in every facet of society including the Church.  I pray to God that I am wrong!
