AMERICAN REVOLUTION or DEVOLUTION…

We are at a critical juncture in our American history and if we get this wrong we will not only hear the proverbial fat lady sing we will see the taillights of Liberty, Freedom, and the Constitutional Republic drive away.  I have never seen the level of incendiary rhetoric and vitriol in America as I am witnessing today.  It is more than disturbing or disheartening it is genuine cause for fear.  As a Christian, I do not embrace fear for it is other than my faith and the torment it carries is both unhealthy and unnecessary.  There is a place for a healthy respect and caution that some would call fear and I can accept that.  However, the conditions in America today are frightening and the end that we are apparently headed for is quite other than beneficial and productive.  The flames of HATE are reaching higher than I have ever witnessed and people from all walks of life are being drawn to the flames and many are being consumed before our eyes.  Sadly, many of them are completely unaware they are being engulfed by the destructiveness of those flames and may truly believe they are doing God a service, and fighting for basic human kindness and what America should be.  In that case, the prospect of reconciliation and healing in our nation become virtually impossible.  There has never been a more fierce fighter than one fighting for a religious cause and the fight is religious on all sides of today’s issues.

The American Revolution was waged to secure, as is so eloquently revealed in our Declaration of Independence, protection of our unalienable rights which include, “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.”  I would encourage everyone to meditate on the words of that document which expressed the heart, desire, and intent of our Founding Fathers and the Colonist living in this land.

“When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.  We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”

I purposefully did not include the entire declaration but that portion which identifies, powerfully, the intent of the American Revolution and the desire for those who would be citizens of this Republic to be afforded and enjoy.  We have, for 240 years, enjoyed the protection of our Constitution and embraced the vision of the Founding Fathers and the Framers of our American Constitution.  Have we fallen short?  Obviously, there have been times we have failed and some of those times failed miserably in maintaining the spirit and intent of our forefathers.  They believed, as do I, that the providence of God enabled us to win our Freedom and that if we ever drifted from His principles and the precepts of His word and our stated founding guidelines we would suffer greatly as a people.  Are we witnessing that today?  It would seem so.

I hear those on the Left and the Right claiming that their efforts are a Revolution for America.  But in some cases, it seems that rather than an American Revolution that fights for our founding principles, the protection of our unalienable rights, and the perseveration of our American Constitution we are witnessing American Devolution.  Much of what is happening in the protests and the ‘fake news’ by the MSM designed to divide and destroy, as well as the actions of those in protest, riots, and anarchistic endeavors is not a Revolution of Freedom it is a Devolution pressing us toward a state of Anarchy, striving for Mobocracy and is fueled by intense HATE.   When college professors and others can argue that if a person is white they owe those who are black reparations. we open the door for further division and bitterness.  They are even advancing the idea that every white person should be opening reparations accounts for blacks.  I heard one professor hawking his new book supporting that view say, “A black person with a college degree is less likely to get a job than a white ex-convict.”  On its face, I call that a blatant lie and inaccurate.  What jobs are we talking about?  I have worked in the public sector and experienced being passed over because I was white.  I know what it is like to be told to my face that I was the most qualified but because the other candidates were either of a different gender or ethnicity I would not get the job.  So, exactly what do I owe and to whom?

The call for violence even a military coup to overthrow this administration is not only unhealthy for our Republic it is criminal.  If America is going to HEAL, the HATE must subside.  I see two fountains or rivers flowing in America and the prism through which you view life is established.  There is the River of American Revolution seeking to advance Freedom and develop a country that is “One nation under God indivisible…”  The other is the River of Devolution that is seeking to suppress and eradicate any view other than your own.  It will use any means necessary to achieve its end and sees no conflict in advancing the message of HATE while calling for Love and calling HATE Love and LOVE Hate.  We are divided and that chasm is so wide, no bridge other than the principles upon which America was founded and the God of the Bible can span.  We need to be reminded of and embrace the word of our First President, George Washington uttered at his First Inaugural Address on April 20, 1789, “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained.”

I am deeply troubled by what I hear and see in America today and ask that you join me in prayer for HEALING in our land.  I believe it is the desire of the majority of Americans to have a nation that is prosperous, free, and secure.  We desire a nation that embraces the tenets of the Declaration of Independence and affords the protections of our American Constitution.  I ask that you join me in Praying for America.  My prayer is God please bless America again, and help us to cease viewing everything through the prism of politics and see His purposes.

THE INFLAMMATORY RHETORIC OF THE LEFT IS DISTURBING…

I am deeply disturbed by the violence and bitter vitriol used by those protesting President Donald Trump and our most recent Presidential election.  We have laws that prohibit the inciting of riots and make those who do so culpable to the crimes being perpetrated by the rioters.  That should include politicians including those who lost the election such as Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine.

Recently the Democratic Vice Presidential candidate, Tim Kaine said in a public interview: “We are so excited that the American public is energized to speak out against the abuses of this administration…”  Imagine that.  He went on to say, “What we’ve got to do is fight in Congress, fight in the courts, fight in the streets, fight online, fight at the ballot box, and now there’s momentum to be able to do this.”  Much of what he said, I have no problem with because I believe in the 1st Amendment and people have the right to peacefully protest and dissent regardless of their political affiliation.  I may adamantly disagree with their position but I defend their right to express their dissent.  However, there is one part of his statement that troubles me greatly and it is akin to much of what former President Obama and others have said from time to time.

His statement and encouragement to “fight in the streets” is particularly alarming and needs to be clearly defined by Senator Kaine.  It is more than inflammatory it is calling for anarchy, violence, and destruction.  He may not have intended it to go that far, but many of those on the left who are causing havoc in the streets will interpret it exactly that way.  This can only be considered an endorsement of violence and disruption.  That is the kind of thing that Mr. Obama said regarding Ferguson, Missouri, the Black Lives Matter Protests, and other incidents.  It is the kind of rhetoric that results in people on the fringe and maybe not so fringe will take as a license to violence.  There are calls for the murder of the president, rape of his wife and daughters, and eradication of whites including killing white babies.  This is not something that should be condoned by anyone, Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative.  No American should be willing to tolerate widespread violence, rioting, looting, and causing property damage or physical harm to citizens.  This is wrong!

The vitriol of the Democrats in Congress making personal attacks against nominees and scurrilous accusations toward them, the president, and all who are conservative and support the president is dangerous.  When companies like Starbucks allow their CEO to publicly state that anyone that supports Donald Trump is unwelcome in their establishments that are dangerous and damaging.  When Barack Obama was president those same people lectured those of us who opposed him accusing us of spreading hate, discord and being Unamerican and racist.  Had we done what they are doing, there is little doubt many of us would be facing a magistrate, have been charged with crimes and incarcerated.  I did not support Barack Obama and found virtually every policy of his scandalous and in direct opposition to what our American Founders and Framers intended, the Bible instructs, and diametrically opposite of the values of anyone with a strong moral mooring.  I did not take to the streets, call for his murder, wish harm to his family, or seek to incite riots and cause mayhem in America.  I considered that dangerous and destructive for our Republic.  I voiced my objection and encouraged people to put pressure on their elected officials.  I encouraged people to become involved in politics and vote for change to the dangerous path he was leading us down.

If it were only the Democrats I might not react as strongly but Evan McMullin, another defeated presidential candidate has taken an even more incendiary stance, in my view.  He spins fantasies about Donald Trump that are unfounded and unwarranted.  He argues for ‘direct,’ not Democratic action.  He argues that Congress will not stand up to Trump and that Mr. Trump will likely ignore the courts because he is an authoritarian and mimics despot.  He argues that Trump will run roughshod over all checks, cultural norms, and the press.  McMullin lauds what he calls the ‘powerful voice’ of the protests, the ‘macro tone’ by which he appears to mean intimidation declaring that Congress could not ignore them.  He encourages people to ‘engage directly’ with their representatives and mainly Republicans.  He urges those in protest to write op-eds, and contribute to the opposition of the elected officials. He then says that since that might not have the desired effect they should then engage in “old fashioned civil disobedience” which can only be interpreted to mean riots and violence.  That from a person who sought to be the President of the United States of America.  What would he be calling for had he won and people protested his administration?  I’m sure it would not be the same!

America rejected their ideas and elected Donald Trump both in rejection of the Leftist, Moderate, Liberal ideology, and agenda and in support of the agenda that Trump advanced.  It was not simply a vote against, it was for some a vote for and Donald Trump. Presiden Trump is now attempting to fulfill his campaign promises.  I fully support everyone making their voice heard in Washington and we should all be denouncing the kind of rhetoric and vitriol that is transpiring.  Those in the MSM, Hollywood and various activist organizations should be ashamed.  America has spoken and as with Barack Obama, we should work to achieve the best for America through a peaceable pathway not attempt to completely destroy our entire system of government.  Their path would do exactly that if allowed to continue, stand, and succeed.

God bless America and God bless you!  Freedom is the Prize and the Republic hangs in the balance.  Defend her we must so I urge you to Pray for this nation, Labor for our Freedom and stand with me for Faith, Family, and Freedom!

 

 

LET THE LEFT LIE IN THE BED THEY MADE…

When Harry Reid led the Democrats in the Senate and they controlled that body they made a bed, that even members of their tribe warned could come back to haunt them.  Senator Reid, defiantly declared, “I don’t care, I’ll be gone by then.” I don’t know if he was in denial that the Republicans could reclaim the Senate or if he was so committed to advancing the Obama agenda he truly did not care about what might be in the future.  Either way, he and the Democrats made a ‘Bed of Thorns’ and it is high time that Senator McConnell and the Republicans allow the Democrats to lie in that bed of their own creation.

The concern I have is that Senator McConnell is on record as being ‘opposed’ to the nuclear option that Senator Reid advanced to ram through President Obama’s nominees and thereby pack the federal courts.  Senator McConnell, this is not the time to engage in timidity.  This is war and in war, you fight to win, so WIN!  Senator McConnell has sent mixed signals in that declaration and his assertion that President Trump’s nominees would be confirmed.  The Democrat tactic may be required to fulfill that promise and here’s hoping that the often-weak-willed leader of the Senate will become strong-willed and determined.  He and too many Republicans seem to believe that if they offer an olive branch to the Democrats they will secure cooperation and concessions from the Left.  AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN!!!  The Left thinks a compromise is when the Republicans do what the Democrats want not a compromise by the Left.  Compromise in the Democrat dictionary is, “Republicans agreeing to the Democrat demands.”

When the diatribe, rhetoric, and vitriol of the Democrats, activist, the anarchist of the left, MSM, Hollywood types, and the like go ballistic over every action or nominee that President Trump advances there is little cause to be hopeful of a compromise.  Senator Schumer has become, and maybe always was, as much a jacka$$ as Harry Reid and finding common ground with him is highly unlikely.  I have heard some of the Trump haters attempt to make President Trump and Senator Schumer best buds.  Believe that if you please, but watch as Senator Schumer fights to block every action of President Trump and every attempt to repeal, reverse, and erase the terrible policies of Barack Obama.  If that is being best buds, then who would need an enemy?  Chuck Schumer is an ideologue and I honestly do not believe that Donald Trump is.  That may prove to be a detriment for Mr. Trump because he tends to see people as other than ideologues and that creature is rare in Washington.

The Democrats, MSM, and Leftist have long called Republicans obstructionist but they are proving to be that themselves.  If you do a little quick search of historic facts, you will find that Bill Clinton and George W Bush had 13 Cabinet nominees approved by this juncture in their Presidency and Barack Obama had 10.  The Democrats are boycotting committee meetings to prevent the Republicans from voting the nominees out of committee.  Obstructionism?  Without question and incredibly childish, in my view.  If the Democrats persist in their obstructionism then Senator McConnell should realize that he has no choice but to force them to recline in the bed of their making, thorns, and all.

Someone called the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch a ‘lose-lose’ situation for the Democrats.  Judge Gorsuch statement, “a good judge doesn’t always like the outcome of his legal reasoning” is problematic for the Democrats.  It suggests that he is aware of the possibility and embraces the responsibility of having to make a legal ruling that is contrary to his personal or political preference.  How can the Democrats villainize that?  With the insane rhetoric coming from them, I am quite sure they will, but it will be illogical.  If the Democrats persist in their threat to ‘filibuster’ this nomination, then they leave the Republicans little option other than the ‘nuclear’ one to squelch filibuster.  They cannot win using that tactic since they originated it and arguing against it on principle would be ludicrous.  The Democrats know that this will not be the only nomination that President Trump is afforded for their will be vacancies in the not too distant future.  If they use up all their ammunition and political capital on this nomination, they will pay dearly in 2018 and in future nominations.  If they approve Judge Gorsuch they lose and if they don’t they lose.  Sounds wonderful for those of us who identify as Constitutional Conservatives but it is not that simple.  It is good but not quite as simplistic as that sounded.

I believe that one of the driving force and a prime factor in the Leftist opposition is the fear that if the SCOTUS becomes unbalanced toward the Right the court could return the decision of Abortion to the States where it belongs.  Abortion, in many ways, is the Holy Grail of the Democratic Party and the fear of seeing it become a State issue is terrifying to them.  The Democrats will roll the dice to ensure they do not lose their ‘donors’ and will seek to filibuster and obstruct the nominees.  The question is, ‘will the Republicans make them recline in their bed of thorns?’  I certainly hope so.  Yes, it is a double-edged sword but considering where we are today a sword that must be wielded.

IDELOGICICAL AMERICA – – What I See From the Wall…

The hoopla that has been going on since the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States of America is not something to be ignored or made light of.  It is incredibly serious and dangerous.  It would be funny if it were not so serious and potentially damaging to our Republic.  I will not address those who are “Never Trump People” but they could be included in the resistance to anything and everything that President Trump and his administration are and will try to achieve.  There will be things, that Mr. Trump does that I will likely oppose.  Of that, I am quite sure.  There will be most likely be times, I feel he and his team have handled something in a less than optimal manner.  However, from where I sit, it seems that he is making good on many of his campaign promises and is attempting to surround himself with many people that are ideologically or politically aligned with most conservatives and constitutionalist in America.  There are exceptions, but what president has not had some in his administration that were not?

There are several things I wish to address, albeit in more brevity than is probably needed but for the sake of time and space I will try to be concise in my comments.  That is difficult, at times, but here we go.  I am convinced that people like former President Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren and many other liberals are focused and intent on ‘fundamentally transforming’ America into a nation that is not guided by our Founding Documents (Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence).  They have virtually all referred to the Constitution as a Document of ‘Negative Liberties’ rather than a safeguard for our unalienable rights and liberties.  The American Constitution restricts government and the Framers were careful to build in as many walls between the government and the people as possible to protect the people. It even built some walls between the people and the people to ensure that we never morphed into a Pure Democracy which would become anarchy, mobocracy, and ultimately Iron Fisted Tyranny.  They sought to ensure that America was and would remain a Constitutional Republic where the government was subject to the people.  They understood that All Powerful Central Federal Government was anathema to Freedom and Liberty so they diligently sought to preserve our Republicanism.

I am totally convinced that the Liberal Leftist are fully committed to achieving an All Powerful Central Government.  They seem to believe that ‘rights’ come from Government, not God and therefore Government should control, mandate, dictate, and direct the lives of the citizens.  When former President Obama would refer to the Declaration of Independence he would omit God.  WHY?  I do not believe it had anything to do with not wanting to offend atheist or even Muslims but because he believes that Government grants rights and therefore the only system of government he can believe in is an “ALL POWERFUL CENTRAL GOVERNMENT.”  The gamesmanship that is taking place with the Democrats in delaying the approval of the nominees of the new president has more to do with creating discord than their ideological opposition to the nominees.  Divide and Conquer is a long-used tactic of the Left.  However, the level of division that is being encouraged and advanced is so volatile that if allowed to continue will result in more than protest marches and the outcome will hinder our Republic for decades.

The Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch will encounter incredible vitriol from the Democrats and he will be painted as worse than Lucifer himself.  That will be the tactic of the Left even though Judge Gorsuch was unanimously approved by the Senate for his current position on the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.  Many on the Left have called him a brilliant legal mind, fair, and incredibly qualified for the job.  Will the Democrats succeed in blocking his nomination as they did with Judge Robert Bork who was also an originalist?  It seems unlikely that they can be successful providing the Republicans maintain a political spine but they will try.  Harry Reid, believing that Hillary would win the election and the Democrats would reclaim the Senate declared, that he has set the stage for the Democrats to use the Nuclear Option even for Supreme Court Justices.  Chuck Schumer would have done that in a heartbeat, but now that they failed, the Left is crying foul and calling that possibility a travesty and diabolical assault on our Constitution.  It is amazing how the Left likes the Constitution when they can subvert it but if it is used against them they hate it. 

What encourages me in President Trump, and some will disagree, is nominating people who espouse a constitutional and conservative view of government.  Again, not every one of them is strongly either but overall the signs are good that he is going to attempt to ‘keep his campaign promises’.  That is quite novel for an elected official.  How many presidents in the past have shown signs of doing that, other than Barack Obama when he promised to ‘fundamentally transform’ America?  Many did not believe he was serious or his desire of transformation would be as dire as it has been.  The Obama administration engaged in incredible lawlessness using the Executive Fiat route and this may require President Trump to reverse them using the Executive Order pathway.  I would prefer a very limited use of that option but to get us back to where we need to be some of that will be necessary.

Judge Gorsuch is being nominated to replace Justice Antonin Scalia and even as a conservative he does not shift the balance of power on the court, he only restores it to where it was.  The Democrats in states Mr. Trump won, should be incredibly cautious about attempting to block this nomination for several of them are up for reelection in 2018 and if they do follow Senator Schumer’s lead, hopefully, most of them will be defeated.

AMERICA – PURE DEMOCRACY or A REPUBLIC???

If that is a question as to what kind of government we are supposed to have in America, the answer is simple.  We were established as a Constitutional Republic with a Representative Democracy, not a Pure or True Democracy.  However, it seems that media, politicians, activist and many in America today have become so accustomed to calling our Republic a Democracy that’s what most think we have.  Majority Rule regardless!  I believe that is one of the foundational concepts upon which the PROTESTS are being carried out.  They believe that MAJORITY RULE is the rule, of our American government and believe they are the MAJORITY.  They believe that because of the coverage of the Main Stream Media, the vocalness of the activist and the weakness of politicians to resist.

Sadly, the Republicans, especially the RHINO’s have a morbid fear of public opinion from the Left.  They seem to forget after each election and that the elections of recent years can only be interpreted as a rejection of the Liberal Agenda of the Left.  But, alas, the Republicans cower in the corner when the MSM, Democrats, and Activist take to the streets, airways, or floor of Congress.  Their memories are either incredibly short or their brain power incredibly weak.  The Republicans have accepted the insistence from the Democrats that they modify and become more moderate or liberal and become Democrat Lite in their politics. The Public has voted in 3 elections, with respect to Congress, to express displeasure with the policies of the previous administration and the Left but the Republicans missed that reality.

One of the earmarks of a Pure Majority Rule Democracy is ANARCHY and we are witnessing the seeds of that today.  I fully support FREE SPEECH and will argue for it without question UNLESS the free speech of one becomes censorship of another and transitions into riotous behavior and engages in lawlessness and destruction.  That is not FREE SPEECH that is TERRORISM!  I support the right of those women to march in protest even when they are protesting things I believe wrong and even reprehensible.  I support the right of peaceable assembly but it must be PEACEABLE.  It is of great concern that allowing the squeaky wheel of a minority have the power and impact of a majority.  The idea that the presidential election of Donald Trump was somehow illegitimate because he did not win the popular vote is flawed, in my view.  There is the lingering question as to ‘illegal’ voters in California and New York that went for Hillary Clinton.  Subtract those votes and the popular vote totals might have shifted in Trump’s favor.  However, we are not a Simple Majority Democracy we are a Republic and have a determined manner of electing presidents through State Votes in the Electoral College.  That was a safeguard against the dangers of a Pure Democracy where whims, agitation, or knee-jerk reaction could completely change the direction of our nation.

Every Majority Vote Democracy that has ever existed has committed suicide and imploded.  The selfishness of a Pure Democracy is destructive and produces the condition of instability.  On the other hand, a Republic affords stability because it allows the entire nation to determine its direction.  Our Constitution protects the sovereignty of the individual states and affords each state an equal voice in the Senate and a proportional voice in the House of Representatives.  If we allow the influence of the protesters to shape our nation’s direction overriding the will of the entire nation though the individual states having a voice that counts.  Were we a Pure Democracy then the pockets of liberal, activist, in California and New York as well as a few other places would determine the governmental direction of the entire nation.  Places like Wyoming, Idaho, and many of our smaller states would be relegated to beating their heads against the wall and subjected to the wishes of those pockets of liberalism.

We dare not allow Hollywood, the MSM, and Activist become the voice of the nation especially when their voices are contrary to the idea of the Constitutional Republic, anti-moral, and anti-biblical.  As for the Presidency of Donald Trump, I do not suggest that everything he does will be things I agree with, but he is moving toward restoring much of our Constitutional Foundation.  If we do not value, the wishes of every state and every citizen we will morph into a state of chaos that will lead to anarchy and ultimately destroy our nation.  We all have responsibilities and are to be accountable.  We each must carry our fair share of the burden of maintaining liberty and freedom.  America is worth fighting for and the election just won was a rejection of the Ultra Liberalism of the Democrats but the War has not concluded.  I believe God has given us an opportunity reclaim and restore our nation and return to Constitutional Principles and Precepts.  He has given us an opportunity to return to being a Christian Nation that has strong moral moorings.  We must determine if we are willing to fully invest ourselves in the fight for freedom.  If we are we must PRAY like all depends on our prayers.  We must WORK like all depends on our labors.  We must become INVOLVED like our involvement will determine the outcome of our national direction and survival.  We must become intercessors for America, spiritually, nationally, and economically.  We must also become squeaky wheels in the ears of the elected officials voicing our concerns and desires via phone calls, email, texts, letters, and assembling in large groups signifying our desires.  WE CAN WIN THIS WAR and OCCUPY THE LAND but we must stay focused and continue to be involved.

THE ANARCHIST OF THE PAST AND TODAY…

The likes of the Weathermen or as they were later called Weather Underground Organization.  This was an extreme left wing organization that carried out bombings, jailbreaks, and organized riots in the late 60’s and beyond.  There was also the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS).  They included people such as Bernardine Dohrn, Eleanor Raskin, Dianne Donghi, Peter Clapp, David Millstone, and Diana Oughton.  They collaborated with the communist regimes of North Vietnam, Cuba, and others trying to subvert and attempted to overthrow the U.S. Government.  Others that were involved were Bill Ayers and other prominent names from the past.  Some of those are now occupying bureaucratic positions and serving as college professors teaching the youth of today slanting them toward their liberal, leftist, anarchist point of view.  They engaged in riots, looting, and destruction as well as arming the New Black Panthers for war against the government and against whites.  They murdered police and gunned down citizens in acts of terror and tragically, at times, escaping the long arm of the law and supported by Leftist Politicians.

If any of that sounds familiar as you view what has been happening with the Black Lives Matter riots and the various protests since the November election, the root is the same.  Many of the figures behind the organization of these activities are none other than people like Bill Ayers, George Soros, and other leftist activist HATERS of AMERICA.  The hate is multi-generational and it is rooted in a Communist, Marxist, manifesto that desires to destroy our system of government and destroy capitalism arguing that things are ‘not fair’ and we need to ‘level the playing field’.  Sadly, the playing field they want to level would then be slanted to their advantage, and many of those pulling the strings are becoming incredibly wealthy and powerful using the pawns of their destruction the protesters who are often ill-informed or uninformed.  They prey on emotions, fan the flames of hate, seek to divide the nation, and find destroying property, hampering the normal commerce of America, and even violently attacking detractors both acceptable and desirable.  The forces behind these protests consider this WAR, even if those marching and committing the acts of violence and felonious acts do not.

I think of the infamous Yogi Berra and say, “It’s like Deja-vu, all over again.”  With the Republicans controlling both Houses of Congress and occupying the Oval Office the Leftist are once again ramping up the chaos and destruction.  It is Deja-vu and a very distasteful blast from the past. We ignore it or attempt to compromise with it to our hurt.  We must expose it for what it is and refuse to be bullied by the tactics.  We must insist that when laws are broken the lawbreakers are prosecuted and held accountable.  We must not allow the MSM, the Leftist Democrats, and weak-willed Republicans force us down the road to destruction and abandonment of our Core Principles found in the Constitution and Bible.

The vitriol of the Leftist is not only distasteful it is dangerous.  You can only push people so far before they push back and often the pushback is more severe than the initial push.  We are on the brink of Civil War in America.  The past 8 years have so damaged our Republic that it may take a very long time to recover if we can.  The misrepresentation of Obamacare by the Democrats has entrenched itself in the minds of the ill-informed and those reacting out of fear and hate.  Obamacare has not done what it was reportedly going to do.  However, I believe that it has largely accomplished what it was designed to do.  In my view, it was designed to collapse the entire healthcare industry or health insurance industry and create such havoc and chaos through denied or delayed care and escalate the cost to the point that the public was willing to accept “Universal Health Care” or a “Single-Payer System” where the government pays for healthcare and makes the healthcare decisions for the citizens.  Government paying for anything is a misnomer for if the government pays for it, WE PAY FOR IT.

The Leftist, even before Mr. Trump was inaugurated, were raising money to have him impeached, some have called for his assignation, and the Democrats are taking positions to oppose and obstruct everything that President Trump and the Republicans attempt.  Hopefully, the Republicans will develop a spine and have a willingness to STAND THEIR GROUND and fight for America.  If they do, we can see many of the destructive policies of Barack Obama reversed.  We can witness the nation begin the process of healing.  I believe that if we enforce the law and when protests become riots people are arrested and we truly communicate what is happening most Americans will stand for what is right and resist the false narrative.  If we allow those seeking to bully America to go unscathed we will embolden and encourage them losing our Republic. Are we willing to allow the Terrorism of the 60’s become acceptable today?  The answer to that will determine the future of America.

THE SUPREME COURT IS A TOP PRIORITY…

When the Republicans use tactics normally employed by the Democrats the Left cries foul.  The Republicans refused to bring the nomination of Merrick Garland before the Senate and opted to wait until the next administration was in place to hold any confirmation hearings on any candidate to succeed Antonin Scalia for a seat on the illustrious court.  That could have backfired in a major way had Hillary Clinton won the election, for it is entirely possible that she would have appointed Barack Obama to the position and he would likely have received confirmation.  That would have been even more disastrous than his 8 years in the White House.  It would have been the beginning of a Liberal Leftist Court during her term in office that would have completed Barack Obama’s drive to ‘fundamentally transform’ America.  It would have, likely meant the effective shredding of our Constitution, and transformed it into the “Living Document” Status the Left clamors for.  America would have been the clear loser!

The Constitution requires the Senate to give ‘advice and consent’ but nowhere does that document mandate that the Senate give a hearing or a vote to a nominee.  Failure to give a hearing is an answer to the ‘consent’ portion of the directive for if you can give consent you can also withhold it.  That is exactly what the Senate did with regard to Judge Garland.  Now the new president Donald J. Trump can nominate someone to the court and hopefully he will present a nominee that adheres to the expressed views of the Founding Fathers and the Framers of the Constitution.  The Framers and Founders believed the Constitution was a legally binding document that formed a covenant between the American people and their government.  An agreement that would keep the government in check while providing a safeguard for our inalienable rights and liberties as citizens.  The Framers and Founders would be outraged over the idea of the Constitution being a “Living Document” that would morph into whatever the whims of those in power might deem it to be at any given time.  To the Framers and Founders, it was ‘etched in stone’ until and unless changed by the people through the proper channels.

Thomas Jefferson stated his position eloquently saying, “On every question of construction carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed.”  There is nothing ambiguous in that statement.  James Wilson said, “The first and governing maxim in the interpretation of a statute is to discover the meaning of those who made it.”  James Madison echoed those sentiments arguing, “Can it be of less consequence that the meaning of a Constitution should be fixed and known, than a meaning of a law should be so?”  The Father of our Country and First President, George Washington contended that UNTIL and UNLESS the Constitution was changed by the people following the prescribed process it was AUTHENTIC and OBLIGATORY upon everyone.  Those men offered nothing that would remotely suggest they viewed the Constitution as anything but definitive and timeless.

James Madison went even further in highlighting the distinction between a so-called “Living Constitution” and the “Constitution of a Republic.”  He said, “The important distinction so well understood in America, between a Constitution established by the people and unalterable by the government, and a law established and alterable by the government, seems to have been little understood and less observed in any other country.”  He recognized the uniqueness of our System of Government and the importance of strictly adhering to it and interpreting the Constitution based on ORIGINAL INTENT.  Jefferson agreed and said, “Our peculiar security is in the possession of a written Constitution.  Let us not make it a blank paper by construction… If it is, then we have no Constitution. To take a single step beyond the text would be to take possession of a boundless field of power.” 

Harry Truman made an incredible statement about the Constitution that is worth considering.  He said, “It can be lost, and it will be if the time ever comes when these documents are regarded not as the supreme expressions of our profound belief, but merely as curiosities in a glass case.”  The danger of the left can be summed up in the words of the former Vice President, Joe Biden.  He said, “Just talk to me as a father – not what the Constitution says.  What do you feel?”  This is not about what I feel it is about what the Constitution states and a frightening revelation of how the Left views the document. That document MUST be maintained as the Law of our Land or we have lost our Constitutional Republic.  I will fight to prevent that and it is my prayer that the new President will nominate a person for the Supreme Court who holds the same sentiments as our Founding Fathers and the Framers of the Constitution and interpret it by ORIGINAL INTENT, not current political winds and political correctness.

THE ME, ME, ME PRESIDENT…

I am not referring to President Donald J. Trump but the former President Barack Hussein Obama.  The media, talking heads on television, political pundits, and many politicians have sought to make Donald Trump the “It’s all about me, president or politician.”  They seem to have incredibly short memories or they have failed to do any semblance of research and examination of the many speeches the former president has given.  They seem to be oblivious as to how many times Mr. Obama has referred to himself when he speaks.

I saw a political cartoon that pictured both Mr. Obama and Mr. Trump and suggested that when Trump speaks it is “me, me, me, me…” but when Mr. Obama speaks it is all about “you, you, you, you….”  When I saw that I laughed out loud and thought, “Surely you can’t be serious” but the cartoonist was deadly serious.  Wrong, but deadly serious!  I have seen reports from the Leftist and the MSM that suggested that Mr. Obama’s farewell speech was completely devoid of ‘self-references’ and was magnanimous and clearly focused on America and Americans.  But, then, they have doted on him treating him as some kind of god for 8 years.

In Mr. Obama’s farewell addressed he referred to himself 75 times.  This is not the first incident of his narcissism and self-focus but in this particular event he used “I” 33 times, “my” 20 times, “me” 10 times, and “I’m or “I’ve” 12 times.  If you remember or care to research, back in July he mentioned himself 45 times in a speech given, supposedly for the slain officers in Dallas.  The only thing the MSM and the Leftist seem to hear are his closing words where he encouraged Americans to TUNE IN, “because, for me, it’s always been about you.”  THAT IS HILARIOUS!  It has never been about you, me, or America it has always been about Barack Hussein Obama and his leftist agenda.  Contrast that to Mr. Trump’s Inaugural speech and you clearly see who is referring to SELF the most.  The winner is Barack Obama!

In January of 2016, Mr. Obama made a speech announcing new gun control orders.  In that speech, he referred to himself 76 times.  Following the mass shooting in Roseburg, Oregon he mentioned himself 28 times in a short 12-minute speech.  When he visited New Delhi, Barack Obama referenced himself 118 times in 18 minutes.  I cannot imagine anyone not acknowledging that he is a narcissist and if we are honest we would have to acknowledge that the most important person in Barack Obama’s world is BARACK OBAMA.

We now have a new president and hopefully, we will move toward a much more people-centered administration and a more constitutional one.  Hopefully, we will find that we have an administration that truly wants to place America First rather than seeking to ‘fundamentally transform’ her and punish America for the perceived sins of the globalist and haters of our system and freedom.  Hopefully, we will find inroads into returning government to the hands of the true owners, THE PEOPLE.  Mr. Obama has never viewed America in the same light as the founding fathers or the framers of our American constitution.  He has viewed our system of government as flawed and the constitution a hindrance rather than a document that was designed as a safeguard for our inalienable rights and liberties.

The historic record reveals that in President George Washington’s farewell address in 1796, reminded everyone that “all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion, and morality are indispensable supports.”  Barack Obama gave himself a high-five for undermining them during his address as he reflected on his two terms in office.  During his tenure in office, he has pushed for and pushed America to lessen its historic religious commitment and moral fabric and urged Americans to move even further away from our founding principles.  I found it laughable that he attempted to transform George Washington into a fellow progressive as he ignored Washington’s plea for religion and morality in America.  Mr. Obama’s argument about Washington’s view of ‘self-government’ was a plea to abandon our core convictions and embrace diversity at the expense of religious and moral conviction.  George Washington contended, in his farewell address, that self-government is dangerous IF it becomes disconnected from conservative and righteous principles.  He repeatedly warned against the abandonment of religion and morality and allowing the intrusion and inclusion of self-sufficient humanism.  He believed that to do so would result in a government that was tyrannical and produce, at best, an elitist oligarchy and, at worst, a hard tyranny.  Both, Mr. Obama contends for and Mr. Washington warned against.

For the former President Barack Obama, it was “All About Him” and never about “America or Americans.”  I am praying that this new President Donald Trump will focus on America and Americans and keep any narcissism in check and be willing to do what is right for this nation not simply to make himself look or sound good.  He will not be afforded the media support and every act and action will be questioned.  He will find an antagonistic congress like virtually no president has ever experienced.  Can he succeed?  Only if we who pray do so. Only if we who love freedom and America demand cooperation in Congress.  Only if we the electorate stay focused and in each successive election prune the political tree and get rid of the deadwood.

WHAT IS AMERICA’S GREATEST NEED TODAY???

Many things come to mind when I ask or am asked that question and I’m sure that each one will have a different perspective and idea.  As I have been in prayer and musing on America, where we are, where we have been, and where we are going there are some agonizing thoughts have come to mind.  When I witness, what in my mind, is an assault on our American foundation, the pillars of freedom and the principles upon which America was founded, I become agitated.  I wish I could say that it was always ‘righteous indignation’ but sometimes it is unadulterated blood boiling anger that could easily morph into hate and I fight against that with a passion.  I do not want hate to fill my heart and although I hate sin and the result of sin I do not want to hate the sinner.  I hate the attempts to dismantle and unravel our constitutional framework and diminish the principled fabric of our society but I do not want to hate those who disagree with me about what is best and the direction we should take.  Hate will never produce genuine and lasting victory and progress.

What is the greatest need of America today?  HEALING!  You may not agree and that is your right and privilege.  I will not argue that there are not some incredibly imposing and threatening dangers facing our republic, there are!  Yet, I know from the Bible and history that a house divided against itself cannot stand, become incredibly weak, and open to an invasion of ideologies and forces that would dismantle and destroy us.  NONE OF US TRULY WANT THAT.  The Bible offers us a prescription for HEALING in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.”  [Amplified].

I have watched the MSM, the political pundits, activist, and the protests in the aftermath of this election in which the Leftist Democrat was defeated by the Republican and it is a sad reflection of our divide.  If we allow ourselves to focus on our particular ideology, pet agenda, personal preference, or pet-peeve we will expand the divide.  If we allow ourselves to be drawn into HATE and continue to fan the flames of discord, we will fail as a nation and thereby will suffer individually and collectively.  I do believe that one of the things President Trump said in his inaugural speech is vitally important for us to focus on.  He said that UNITED, America is Unstoppable!  He said other things about setting aside our prejudices, biases and realizing that we are All Americans and America should be first not personal preference.

I do not suggest anyone abandon their convictions or principles.  I would never do that but I do suggest that we need to resist and reject HATE.  I do suggest we seek common ground through which we can work together for the good of America and Freedom at home and abroad.  If you hate me or I hate you based on the color of skin, we both lose.  If I hate you or you hate me solely based on personality, we both are reduced to incredibly small people.  If I hate you or you hate me based on which side of a political issue we stand, we dig a chasm that will prevent us from finding a solution to our nation’s problems.  I see the signs of protesters, “Love Trumps Hate” and next to that sign will be one that calls for assignation or some other incredible act of violence and hate.  LOVE does triumph over HATE but we dare never forget that Hate and Love do not flow out of the same fountain or heart at the same time. 

America’s greatest need, in my mind, is HEALING.  I am totally convinced that Healing can only truly come from God.  I was appalled when Barack Obama won in 2008 and significantly discouraged when he won again in 2012 but I did not stop being an American and wanting what was best for America.  Did I oppose Mr. Obama?  Yes, I did.  Have I been vocal?  Yes, I have.  But not one time did I call for his murder, the rape of his wife or children or seek to destroy the framework of our society, government, commerce, or community.  I found almost nothing good in the policies of Mr. Obama. You may find nothing good in the policies of Mr. Trump.  But if we love America and are willing to suppress our prejudices, biases, and resist the tendency to HATE that which is different we can not only survive but thrive as a nation.  HEALING is America’s greatest need and it is my greatest need as a human being. 

I hate the message and actions of Islamic jihadism.  I hate the murder of innocent babies in the womb.  I hate the attempts to strip all reference and mention of God from our public stage.  I hate the ‘fundamental transformation’ of America into something other than the nation we were established to be and the principles upon which we were formed.  I hate the works of evil no matter what form that comes.  HOWEVER, I do not want to be filled with HATE and thereby prevented from having LOVE for my fellow man.  I want to be a part of the HEALING of our Nation not a part of the perpetuation of division. 

I know that my sermon will not be well received by some but I hope you hear my heart.  I DO NOT want anyone to abandon their principles, and discard their core convictions.  I want you to protest what you believe is wrong but do so in a civil, peaceful, constitutional, and legal manner.  I want all of us to be able to stand for what we believe is right but to do so as rational and mature people.  I am praying for HEALING in our land and am committed to interceding for America.

SHOULD ANYONE BE BEYOND THE REACH OF THE LAW???

I ask that question for any number of reasons including the Hillary Clinton email imbroglio.  We are told that it is complicated, even embarrassing, and somewhat confusing for Law Enforcement, but the message is she was and is deemed above the law. If that was not their intentional message they failed because that is the message conveyed. However, that is only one reason for my question, another is the Lawlessness of the Obama administration and the view of those working for him and his loyal followers.  To them, it seems, the Law is whatever he says not what has been enacted by legislation and firmly established by the constitution.

Back in April 2015, there was an article written by Suzanne Hamner where she referred to the ICE Director Sarah Saldana’s testimony before Congress that “ICE followed President Obama’s policies, not the Law.”  That is nothing short of incredible but the open admission and the many declarations and actions of Barack Obama indicate that is his and their law.  He (Mr. Obama) has said, “I’m president, I can do what I want.”  NO, Mr. Obama, you may have done whatever you want but Constitutionally and Legally you cannot and should be held accountable for any directive that coerces anyone to violate existing law.  He has declared that he is willing to circumvent Congress, the Courts, and the Constitution saying, “If Congress won’t do what I want, I will go it alone.  I have a pen and a phone.”  YES, you do and you have done just that, at times, but it is still Unconstitutional and Illegal and you should be held accountable.  I do not fault you as the lone culprit for your actions because your entire history has been one of getting and doing whatever you want with a sense of entitlement and exemption from the rules that apply to everyone else.  You have dealt with a weak-willed Congress for 8 years, therefore one can understand why you’d feel you can order anyone to do whatever you desire and be immune from the consequences.  You are your own god, so it seems and anyone disagreeing or resisting your edicts is a person to be destroyed and eliminated.

Representative David Young of Iowa asked Ms. Saldana about a concern, which continues to this date, that ICE officials and agents were uncertain whether they should follow the LAW or obey the Policies of Barack Obama.  That should be an easy decision, although it might cost them their jobs.  However, from a Constitutional and Legal position, it should be an easy decision.  Even in the military, we were obligated to follow ‘LEGAL ORDERS’ and not follow ‘ILLEGAL ORDERS.’  Congressman Young argued that if there was a policy that violated the law, the normal expectation should be to follow the law.  The ICE Director said, “And that’s where you and I probably have a fundamental disagreement.”  Her continued testimony revealed that she considered the wishes of the president to be a higher law than AMERICAN LAW.  That should have been grounds for her immediate dismissal and should have resulted in an in-depth investigation to determine if the President had, in fact, issued decrees threatening anyone because they followed the Law and rejected his wishes.  It didn’t happen and therein is a revelation of how we are in the mess we are in. 

I remember President Obama threatening ICE agents saying, “If someone’s working for ICE, and there is a policy and they don’t follow the policy, there are going to be consequences to it.”  His policy violated the Law and the Constitution and he threatened people’s jobs if they obeyed the Law and the Constitution.  THAT IS LAWLESSNESS!  Her argument and many on the left that in every level of life and business employees are expected to follow company policy regardless.  That will not hold water because no matter what the policy is IF it violates the law and especially federal law there is no exemption for the employee.  You cannot use, “I was just doing what I was told as a justification.”  The Law is the Law and NO ONE is or should be EXEMPT.

The tragedy over the past 8 years is that Barack Obama and the Liberal Left have effectively “transformed” or enabled the ‘mutation’ of our country through his ‘fundamental transformation’ into a state where the Law of Obama supersedes the Law of America.  If through Executive Order or Executive Action a President can suspend the Law and the Constitution with impunity, we have lost the Republic.  We dare not allow our nation to become one in which the Head of a Department, Military Commander, CEO, or President can issue a decree and it take priority over THE LAW.   That would place us squarely in chaos nationally and would mutate the Republic into a Dictatorship where the only Laws that apply are those the sitting potentate deemed enforceable and only apply to those no part of his/her regime.  We were established as a Constitutional Republic and have been one for a long time.  Are we willing to allow that to be subverted and abandoned?  I AM NOT! 

We must insist that this dictatorial oligarchy of political elitist and professional politicians end.  We must evict as many as possible who are following or allowing that mindset and practice to exist.  It is high time that you and I TAKE BACK OUR GOVERNMENT at the ballot box and with our pocketbooks.  We can but it will be a long and difficult fight and there will be casualties.  IS FREEDOM WORTH THE FIGHT?  Is America worth the commitment?  I cannot answer that for you, but for me and my house, the answer is YES!
