BARACK OBAMA: The American Problem or Symptom…

Blog Post 1 - Symptoms

I have a number of friends who are adamant in their argument that Mr. Obama is “The Anti-Christ” and I have stopped trying to convince them he is not, but he is not.  He, in my view, is clearly ‘anti’ many things that have to do with biblical Christianity, the America our founders sought to establish and things conservative or constitutional but from my study of the Bible I do not believe he is THE Anti-Christ.  You may disagree that and that is your prerogative.

I have some friends who are persuaded that Mr. Obama is THE American Problem but I contend that he is THE Symptom of the problem and a small cog in a very large wheel. I most assuredly believe that he and his ilk are quite problematic but are only visible evidences of the larger problem in America.  That being said, I am fully persuaded that if we do not address the root cause of the problem and stop trying to treat symptoms we will lose the nation forever that our founders envisioned and labored so tirelessly to establish and perpetuate.  Their resolve to deal with the root cause produced the American Revolution, Independence and a nation that has risen to worldwide greatness.  They understood that the “root cause” had to be dealt with and that the symptoms were only visible evidences of a cancerous condition that would ultimately destroy their lives and rob them of their labors.  We too must come to that conclusion and identify the problem while looking beyond the symptoms.

Blog Post 1 - Checks and Balances

Our founders, even those who were proponents of a strong central government opposed a bloated bureaucratic entity that would engulf the lives of the masses and swallow up the autonomy and authority of State Governments.  Thus they hammered out the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in an effort to insure that we would have a means and method to prevent and combat the monster that we have allowed to exist today.  Although some seemed to realize that potential problem  on the scale we see it today I seriously doubt any of them, in their worst nightmare, believed the American people would allow it to become reality, but we have.

Our founders gave us a bicameral legislature with a Senate and House of Representatives and gave specific and detailed powers to each as a protection for WE THE PEOPLE, the individual States and as a ‘check’ and ‘balance’ against an overreaching Executive Branch or a court that attempted to become legislative in nature.  They gave specific powers and restrictions to the Executive and Judicial branches in an effort to provide sufficient balance in power as to insure the preservation of the Republic thereby insuring our ability to pursue in peace Life, Liberty and Happiness.

Blog Post 1 - Welfare State

They envisioned no situation in which monies from the Public Trust would be taken to establish or provide ‘welfare’ for they all believed and understood that charity had to be voluntary and was the responsibility of family, church and community not government.  Today we have allowed the problem to produce a welfare state that has exceeded 50% of the populace drawing some type of subsistence from the Federal or State Government and that is an unsustainable condition.  We keep trying or calling for REFORM when ABOLITION is the solution.  I fully understand that with more than 50% of the population dependent upon government it would produce a literal war were we to go cold-turkey and ABOLISH the causes of the problem but we must move that direction if we are to survive and reclaim that which we were given.

Blog Post 1 - Size of Federal Government

They envisioned no situation where Big Brother would use the bloated multilayered bureaucracy of various governmental agencies and departments to control the lives of the citizens.  Yet, today we give up a little liberty for what we think is safety and in so doing as Mr. Franklin declared, give up both in the process.  We have a problem today that has its roots in a diabolical plan of an almost ageless ideology that wishes to reduce the masses to servitude of the few who rule.  It goes beyond religious beliefs although those are being used to achieve the objective.  It goes beyond race relations although those are being used to achieve the discord and bring into captivity to an ideology that destroys our unalienable rights as detailed in our Constitution and Bill of Rights.  The ROOT PROBLEM is an ideological one that has inspired a dependence and a willingness to take without risk or labor rather than give, invest and risk all to achieve.  It has been eroding the very core principles, values and beliefs that gave birth to the nation known as the United States of America.  If we are to preserve or reclaim that Republic we must, as citizens follow our forefathers examples and acknowledge the hand of providence in our existence, retain our independence and allow a spirit of personal pride arise within our hearts once again that seeks to carve out our own niche in life rather than be on the dole with no drive or pride.  If we are to reclaim and preserve our LIBERTY and FREEDOM we must take control of our lives and government.  It is my hope and desire that we do this systematically and doggedly through peaceful means and refuse to be deterred or dissuaded.

I am convinced that the presence of ideologues like Barack Obama, most of the leftist and many of those who identify as Republicans are a symptom of the real problem and if we are to become physicians of value we must accept responsibility of ownership of our government and labor in prayer and tirelessly devote ourselves to the Republic.  Can we regain control and restore the Republic?  I honestly do not know but I know we must try.  My heart breaks for the millions that are being plunged into a state of dark despair and hopelessness and thus my mission in life has become:  Presentation of Faith, Perpetuation of Family, Preservation of Freedom and Pursuit of Fidelity seeking a society and nation that has a moral mooring that is unshakable and can once again rise to that position that Divine Providence led us to.

May God be with you in blessing and may He bless America again!

WHEN A PRESIDENT IS VINDICTIVE…

Blog Post B - Obama Shut Down

The American people, the Republic, the Constitution and the Courts all suffer almost irreparable damage.  The current occupant of the White House has long demonstrated a propensity for vindictiveness, retribution and revenge.  He apparently has such thin skin and fragile ego that any criticism is deemed a mortal sin and therefore must be eradicated.  He has demonstrated a total disregard for the constitution, congress and the courts while claiming a mandate from the people but ignoring their actions both at the voting booths and in surveys indicating their disapproval.  It is inconsequential to him and another reason I am 100% certain that he is a pathological narcissist incapable of grasping any reality than that manufactured in his mind.

When a president becomes paranoid and views all opposition as a mortal enemy as Richard Nixon and now Barack Obama everything about and in our system suffers and the most suffering is by WE THE PEOPLE.  When the Executive Officer of the nation goes rogue dismantling the constitution and imposing his will and ideology upon the courts, congress and the populace it is rightly identified as tyranny.  This type of usurping of the separation of powers as established by the Constitution of these United States is not just a bad practice it is possibly more dangerous than foreign enemies.  The framers of the American constitution envisioned a Republic wherein this would not be allowed by the other branches of government.  They did not envision a congress so weak-willed and timid they would give only token opposition and cower in fear at the threats of the Executive Branch.  They never envisioned a court that would virtually rubber stamp or side-step the issue of overreach by the Executive Branch.  They truly believed that each division of the tripartite we call government would rigorously defend its powers and resist at all cost usurpation of those powers.  That is not happening with the current leadership in the House or Senate leaving the constitution in shambles and WE THE PEOPLE gasping to breathe the air of Liberty.

Blog Post B - Government Agencies

The dangerous, unconstitutional and illegal use of various agencies under the auspices of the Executive Branch contravenes everything the founders sought to guarantee.  The total partisanship exhibited by Congress on almost everything done by this administration renders Congress impotent and inept in its constitutional duties and responsibilities toward WE THE PEOPLE whom they are supposed to be representing and serving.  The reality is they do not envision or understand their responsibilities as being our representatives but rather our rulers.  They do not embrace the idea of being a public servant but an intelligentsia who know best and complete liberty to disregard our wishes.  It would seem that the White House, Congress and often the Courts deem us as ‘ignorant’ and ‘unlearned’ when it comes to politics and governance.  We have been told more than once that because we are not privy to the inside information they have we could not possibly know what is best for us or the nation.  I find that repugnant.

Blog Post B - Founders warned us

We are standing on the precipice between liberty and tyranny; freedom and bondage and MUST stand together or we fall separately.  We must ultimately realize that we have arrived a one of those places men such as Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, James Madison, John Adams and others warned could come.  Madison said, “All men having power ought to be distrusted to a certain degree.”  John Adams declared, “Power always thinks…that it is doing God’s service when it is violating all His laws.”  Jefferson warned, “Experience has shown, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.”  George Washington astutely declared, “It will be found an unjust and unwise jealousy to deprive a man of his natural liberty upon the supposition he may abuse it.”  They understood what WE THE PEOPLE seem to have forgotten that we MUST be the true overseers of government rather than been overseen by it as pawns in a global or national chess match.

When a President becomes vindictive, retaliatory, and vengeful seeking retribution upon those he deems political and ideological enemies he has vacated all reasonable justification for being in that position.  Sadly, the populace has demonstrated a willingness to be sheep led to the slaughter and a blindness to the constitutional dangers bringing us to the position and condition we find ourselves in America.  I have concluded that while we dare not give up the fight that without divine intervention by Jehovah God Himself we have been silent and blind too long.  Therefore, my efforts will continue but become secondary to my desire and willingness to intercede for my nation.

God bless you and God bless America!

Blog Post B - Defend America

FORTRESS AMERICA THE FALLACY…

Blog Post A - Fortress America

I am hearing more and more the ideology that I can only term as ‘Fortress America’ mentality.  I have a number of friends and acquaintances who ascribe to the view that we should withdraw from everything outside our borders and simply ‘fortify’ America letting the rest of the world go their merry way without us.  I realize that I will likely ruffle a few feathers but may I point out my objections?

First, our borders are not and will not be secured in the foreseeable future either by this administration of the next.  If we were to engage in a policy today of having a totally secure border it would be a virtual impossibility to guarantee.  The borders are too vast, the means are too limited to guarantee that.  I fully support a  serious effort to secure our borders from ALL ILLEGALS regardless of their nationality or ideology.  That only addresses our land based borders.  What do we do about the thousands of miles of coastline that are impossible to monitor and guard.  The NOAA shoreline length calculation of 95,471 miles was determined by hand in 1939-40 with a recording instrument on the largest-scale charts and maps available at that time.  It would be relatively easy for a swimmer to come in from a submarine or small boat somewhere along those miles and bring things like suitcase nukes with them.  So trying to have a FORTRESS AMERICA is as much a pipe-dream as the Utopian ideology of this administration.  It is not accepting reality.

Blog Post A - U.S. Coastline

Secondly, if we withdraw from all points outside the United States we place ourselves in a significant disadvantage if something threatens our national defense or threatens our friends around the globe.  I do not want America to engage in nation building or serve as the world’s police force but I also do not want us to give up our strategic position of being able to place boots on the ground or equipment anywhere in short order.  Could we scale back in some of our endeavors or bases?  Most likely but I do not want us to close them all for I believe that would negatively impact our ability to defend ourselves and take out the enemy before they were able to invade our shores en masse.

Thirdly, if we attempt to become FORTRESS AMERICA we convey to our friends and enemies that we are isolationist and not a nation to be relied on.  That position would endanger our friends and embolden our enemies.  I fully support having a foreign aid budget each year that begins at ZERO dollars and only give aid to those who are our friends and only in the amounts that can be justified with regard to national security.  I know that leaves a little wiggle room for politicians but totally cutting ourselves off from the rest of the world is not in our best interest, politically, morally, economically or nationally.  Our presence, the visibleness of our might, ability and willingness to take action will advance peace whereas isolationism will advance chaos globally.

Blog Post A - Isolationism

Islamic terrorist are becoming more sophisticated in their training, equipment, technology and strategy and if we isolate ourselves we allow them free-reign to advance their evil and ultimately bring the war to our shores.  If we can prevent that we must, in my view.  We need an administration and congress with the backbone to stand against evil and if it becomes necessary to fight we must FIGHT TO WIN.  Wars are not won with leaflets and appeasement.  Wars are won by eliminating enough of the enemy that they cease their struggle and concede.  If we refuse to acknowledge the enemy or the existence of declared war against us we are doomed for failure.  We cannot fight this as a political war.  If war is to be waged it must be done militarily.  We have not fought a war with the determination to win since World War II and are paying a high price for our failure.

I want a president and congress who first and foremost want to keep America free and safe.  I want leaders who are strong enough to face down the enemy, uphold the constitution and demonstrate a patriotic determination toward America and the American people.  We do not have that at this time and only by the grace of God and diligence of those working to keep us safe behind the scenes have we avoided another 9/11.  That will soon change if we continue on the current path or move dramatically toward FORTRESS AMERICA.

God bless you and God bless America.

Transformation or Moderation of Islam???

Blog Post 1 - Transformation

What major Muslim personality is calling for this?  The vast majority of the followers of Islam, as a religion, agree that the Koran authorizes, condones and commands Muslims to kill, behead, and bring into subjection anyone who does not convert to Islam.  Saying terrorist have ‘radicalized’ Islam is a false presupposition and argument.  They have not radicalized Islam they have chosen to follow it in its strictest interpretation and are not shamed by the so-called moderate Muslims around the world many times it is the opposite.

Why are so many so concerned about ‘offending’ those who follow Islam and unconcerned about ‘offending’ those who follow Judaism or Christianity?  Why is there a demand for tolerance and protection toward Islam but not from Islam?  Has Christianity had its dark times?  Of course, and most will cite the Crusades as a prime example I will not attempt to defend any atrocity committed in the name of any religion.

Blog Post 1 - Not Allowed To Criticize

Refusing to identify and label Islamic Terrorist as Islamic is, in my view, indefensible.  Yet this administration continues to walk carefully around the issue in some strange contradictions.  When the terrorist of late scream things like, “We have avenged the prophet Muhammad!  Allah Akbar!” it is difficult to divorce their beliefs from their actions or somehow claim they are not Islamic.  This administration has attempted to separate groups like Al Qaeda, ISIS, ISIL, Hamas and other terrorist groups from Islam but failed when you look closely.  Mr. Obama even said, “No religion kills innocents.”  He and we know that is absolutely untrue now and in past history.  In 2009 he attempted to separate Al Qaeda but then when a U.S. Seal Team took out Osama bin Laden identified as the head of Al Qaeda the burial was reported and even lauded by the White House as in ‘strict compliance’ with Muslim precepts and practices.  WHAT?  If bin Laden, was not a Muslim why the overly careful effort to treat him as a Muslim?

In Gitmo the detainees are, as one official stated, “the most pampered prisoners on the planet.”  We know that they are allowed up to four choices of halal meals, have a $750,000 soccer field, issued prayer beads, prayer rugs and a copy of the Koran.  If that were not bad enough the care to appease them is revealed in the small hammock they are issued to keep their Koran from touching the ground when not in use.  If any person who is not Muslim touches the Koran they are terminated but there can be no Bibles visible for that might ‘offend’ the detainees.  If we are detaining them on the basis of their terrorist involvement or potential involvement why are we concerned that we do not offend them.  Does 9/11, Paris, Fort Hood, Boko Haram, the Boston bombing or any other terrorist act offend anyone?

Blog Post 1 - Radical

I hear that only a small portion of the 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide are practitioners of the brand of Islam that the terrorist follow but reports and estimates indicate that upwards of 300 million do.  That is no small number and poses a significant threat.  When the so-called moderates within Islam who reportedly want to live in peace and tolerance remain silent, provide supporting funds and cover, and join the chorus for Sharia Law for Muslims in all countries I find it difficult to believe that there is not widespread agreement, in principle, with the terrorist.  I see no discernible  move toward moderation or transformation of the bloody practices they carry out.

When the president of the United States can stand before the United Nations and declare, “The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam” we should have concerns and questions.  There should be concerns that he makes no similar defense of the Jews or Christians.  There should be the question, why he stands in defense of Islam and not all religions?

Blog Post 1 - Consitutional Republic

America is a Constitutional Republic and our 1st Amendment guarantee is “Freedom of Religion.”  I will defend the right of any religion to practice their religion so long as it does not infringe up the right of individuals to “Life or Liberty.”  If any religion threatens life or liberty of another they void their 1st Amendment guarantee and cannot be accepted or tolerated.

Terrorism is terrorism and should be identified and resisted with all we have at our disposal.  If one is a Muslim, Hindu, Jew or Christian that is their right to believe what they believe right or wrong.  However when you allow your religion to transcend moral decency and violate the unalienable rights of others to believe what they choose you should no longer be afforded any constitutional protection.  That is my view you have a right to yours.

It is time that we insist upon our leaders preserving, protecting and defending the Constitution of these United States of America.  May God bless you and may He bless America again!

IMAGINE AN AMERICAN PRESIDENT WHO…

Blog Post A1- Can You Imagine

Who supports and defends the Constitution of these United States of America?  If you do the image that comes to mind is not Barack H. Obama!   Although there may be a simple explanation as to why he refuses to support the Constitution or clearly identify the Islamic jihadist as Islamic it is deeply troubling.  His aggressive defense of Islam and dismissive attitude toward the horrific atrocities committed by the jihadist places America and Americans at risk.  His trek into ‘moral equivalence’ is not only disgusting it is dangerous!

Some months ago a former CIA officer said, and I have no reason to doubt, that there are ISIS Sleeper Cells in this country.  We have been warned that Iran has Sleeper Cells throughout the United States and Western world and will unleash massive suicide bombings should the Iranian nuclear facilities be attacked.  Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence that he had grave concerns about Iran’s willingness to attack the United States.   Last June, Brigadier General Mohammad-Reza Naghdi announced that Iranian assets have successfully infiltrated deep into the West, from Europe to New York.  Their ideology is revealed in articles by Alireza Forghani, the former governor of the Kish Province and serves as an analyst and strategy specialist in Khamenei’s camp wrote, “We Welcome War!”  He then quoted that book of peace Obama describes saying, “Prepare with all your armaments and force in your possession to confront the enemy so that your enemies and enemies of Allah will become fearful.”  That should cause the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up every time you hear this president defend Islam.

Blog Post A1 - Denial

This administration refuses to be forthcoming on Benghazi or any of the other scandals but at the Prayer Breakfast he had the audacity to compare ISIS and other Islamic Terrorist Groups with Christians citing the Crusades, resurrecting slavery, and advancing the Jim Crow Laws as justification to tolerate them.  This same man stood before the United Nations and said, “The future does not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.”  There are reports of his becoming furious when anyone under him said anything even remotely disparaging toward Islam and yet he never makes those same arguments regarding the Islamic jihadist and other hate groups blaspheming Christ, the Bible, the Jews or Christians.  What is that all about?

I was thinking, as I read some of the things he has said and his repeated denials and refusal to call Islamic Terrorist Islam, about some analogies.  If I were bitten by a rattlesnake I can call it anything I want but the poison is still coursing through my veins as a result of the bite.  If I were attacked by a rabid fox I could call it a disgruntled carnivore but it would still be rabid.  His refusal to identify the true source of this reign of terror being conducted by groups like ISIS provides a most transparent pathology in this man’s head and heart.  But, he did tell us in his book long before the election, “If the political winds turn sour I will stand with the Muslims.”  We knew but many refused to believe and hoped against hope that he would somehow be transformed into a defender of America, our Freedom and Liberties.  He is becoming more and more transparent as to his pathologies and ideologies.

 Blog Post A1 - Sleeping

Maybe instead of sleeping through Jeremiah Wright’s sermons for almost 20 years he was absorbing it all for; what he says and does aligns with the expressed views of Mr. Wright.  It aligns with the Black Liberation Theology that Wright espouses and his sermons appear to have been a continual diatribe against America, whites and our Republican Democracy.  Mr. Obama’s views align with Louis Farrakhan, Frank Marshall Davis, Bill Ayers and Saul Alinsky to name a few.  I suspect that since he faces no further elections his last two years (if he goes peaceably) will be pedal to the metal in advancing his ideology.

Blog Post A1 - American Dream

I can only dream of a president who honors the constitution, loves America, gives praise to American exceptionalism, will work to protect and defend our borders and strengthen our ability to defend our nation from all enemies both foreign and domestic.  Should we be saddled with another Obama type politician in the White House in 2016 it will truly only be a dream.

God bless you and God bless America.

THE NEXT TWO YEARS IN AMERICA…

Blog Post 2 - Looking Ahead

Bill Clinton said while in office, “The Era of Big Government is over” as he conceded that he had to work with Republicans and along with Newt Gingrich balanced the budget.  In 1998 there was a surplus of $69 Billion and 1999 reflected a surplus of $126 Billion.  Clinton did not actually want to balance the budget in his 1996 budget he wanted stabilize the deficit at just under $200 Billion.  The Republicans led by Newt Gingrich pushed him into it and we got the Balanced Budget Act in 1997.  Gingrich wanted to dismantle the ‘bureaucratic welfare state.’   That was a touchy issue because of the addiction in Washington for spending, spending and more spending regardless of the size of the deficit.

It is quite possible that Clinton would have lost in his second bid for the White House for moving too far to the left had Gingrich not come along and pulled him back toward the center or appearance of being centrist.  Hillary had attempted to do what Barack Obama did in healthcare and it failed and the Democrats had lost control of both houses of congress so Clinton decided he had little choice but to move toward the center.  Clinton, in my view, was not a total hater of America and although would have relished the thought of being Emperor he never attempted what Obama has gotten away.  I do not believe he could have succeeded at that time which says much about the evolution of our society as a whole in the years from 1996 to 2008 and 2012.

Blog Post 2 - Coup

The past six years has seen the coup of the American Constitutional Republic transpire at an amazing rate with almost no push-back from the Republicans.  It is true that none of them voted for Obama-care but they have done little to derail it and any in their ranks who tries is branded a maverick, trouble-maker, domestic terrorist and part of the problem rather than the solution.  The Republican Establishment sometimes pretend to be working to stop the Obama spending and derailment of America train but mostly ride the train in silence.  They continually misread the American voter as in the most recent elections in which was an overwhelming rejection of the Obama Policies they act as though they lost and Obama struts around as though he won.  Both seem to have their heads buried in the sand or somewhere and are oblivious to reality.  Americans want most of the Obama policies stopped especially Obama-care.  Americans want a secure border.  Americans do not want what they have earned taken and given to someone unwilling to work.  Americans want freedom of speech, religion and press.  Americans want Liberty and as per Mr. Obama’s promise to ‘fundamentally transform’ America we are watching our rights and liberties vanish before our eyes.  Sadly, those we have elected to represent us are demonstrating a complete unwillingness to represent us choosing to represent special interest groups, increase their wealth and solidify the positions of power.  That is light years from what our founding fathers envisioned for public servants.

Blog Post 2 - What Next

The last two years of the Obama administration will likely be one of intensified usurpation of that Constitution, ignoring the law, bypassing congress and disregarding of the voter’s wishes.  He will utilize his office with the support of the media to step up his grabbing of land, shredding the Constitution and neutering congress.  He will increase his support and abetting of Islamic regimes while working diligently to destroy Israel.  He will seek to increase the tax burden on a large sector of society while increasing the ‘bureaucratic welfare state’.  His god-complex and anti-colonialist mindset drives him to destroy everything that is not compatible with his worldview.  Sometimes his worldview appears Marxist, Socialist or Islamic but NEVER Capitalist or Constitutionalist.  His favorite people and those he looks up to are despotic tyrants or were.  He has demonstrated a passion to pursue the worldview that Barack, Sr., Frank Marshall Davis, Jeremiah Wright and others of that ilk espoused.

Blog Post 2 - Integrity

How far do we have to go back to find the beginning of the end in our society?  How far back do we go to find a society which demanded accountability from its leaders and would not tolerate the lack of integrity?  Where are the men of character who are not addicted to power but see themselves as servants of liberty?  Integrity and politician seem to be an oxymoron in today’s world and that saddens my heart as I weep for our nation and our world.

God said, “Return unto Me and I will return unto you.”  You may not be religious or a believer in God or acknowledge the Lord Jesus Christ but if you truly look at society I believe will you acknowledge we have become detached from our moral moorings and are willing to substitute style for substance.  We have become willing to trade a little security for liberty and in the process lose both.

God help us return to the founding principles espoused in our Constitution.  God bless you and God bless America!

CAN’T WE ALL JUST EMBRACE MEDIOCRITY?

Blog Pot - Mediocrity New Excellence

Before you blow a gasket I am not advancing that as a desirable state or quality but a question based on where the politicians, the academics and many activist seem to desire for America to descend.   The dictionary defines mediocre:  of only moderate quality; not very good; barely adequate.  Mediocrity is defined as:  the quality or state of being mediocre.  The ideological left and some on the so-called right see no exceptionalism anywhere.  They are constantly pushing for the playing field to be leveled and everyone brought to sameness. That in their view is being fair.

If my understanding of history is remotely accurate this nation was established by people who refused to accept mediocrity.  The men and women of pioneer America were brave souls who sought excellence.  The founding fathers of this nation produced documents echoing that sentiment and sought to provide a platform from which we could individually rise to excellence and achieve exceptionalism, which America did and the world owes a debt of gratitude for.  Freedom would be almost non-existent were it not for the American drive to rise above mediocrity and to achieve exceptionalism and excellence.  Do we have flaws and have we failed?  OF COURSE but that should never be an invitation or reason to throw the baby out with the bath water.  It should encourage us to address those problems not reject our pursuit of excellence.

The current administration, many in Congress and the Courts seem to feel that America and Americans are anything but exceptional.  There seems to be a prevailing ideology that to pay for our past sins we must be rendered mediocre as a nation and people.  We have systematically dumbed down our education system in so many ways there is not adequate time or space to enumerate them all.   There was a time when America, the smelting pot of the world, was a place that people sought to immigrate to become an American because of exceptionalism and the opportunities afforded here.  Today we are told that expecting someone to assimilate into our society and become an American is racist, bigoted and intolerant.  They do not have to learn our language, our laws, or become loyal to America because we have no right to national sovereignty after all we are citizens of the world and America belongs to the world.  This push can only produce mediocrity rather than exceptionalism.

Blog Post - Mediocre

There is no stigma for a person being unwilling to work, learn or achieve.  We are producing generations of people that are wards of the state and in so doing we are generating generations of mediocrity.  My parents would have never accepted me wallowing in mediocrity and I thank God they didn’t.  I believe that there can be and are times in one’s life when they need assistance from others but to make that a permanent place of residence is to embrace mediocrity and is a death knell for our society.  It produces an attitude of entitlement and generates a mind-set embracing mediocrity as a norm.   Andrew Carnegie said, “People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with mediocrity, no matter how impressive their other talents.”  Napoleon Bonaparte said, “When small men attempt great enterprises, they always end up reducing them to the level of their mediocrity.”  Both are profound statements.

Blog Post - Blind

We are being led by people today who either completely fail to grasp the foundations upon which America was built and preserved or their ideological views despise our foundations.  Whether it is ignorance or malice the end result is largely the same, a society that embraces mediocrity as normal and acceptable.  That is not a society I brought my children up to become a part of and they are not teaching their children to adopt.  It seems that the goal of the ideological left is summed up in the words of Robert Louis Stevenson, “Most of our pocket wisdom is conceived for the use of mediocre people, to discourage them from ambitious attempts, and generally console them in their mediocrity.”  Howard Schultz said, “My biggest concern is that America is drifting towards mediocrity and that people don’t recognize it – and by people I’m meaning Washington – don’t recognize the sense of urgency and the fact that I don’t think this is a crisis anymore.  I think it’s an emergency.”

God help us to see a restoration in the desire and drive for excellence in all aspects of life.  God help us to reject accepting mediocrity as normal or acceptable.  God help us to seek to inspire everyone to become the best and most successful they can be never being satisfied with the mediocre or mediocrity.    God bless you and God bless America!

THE LOGIC OF THE ILLOGICAL…

Blog Post - Illogical Logic

The recent terrorist slayings in Paris brought another round of the illogical logic of the leftist.  Instead of condemning the Islamic jihadist who carried out a military style slaughter they used it to launch another ‘gun control’ rant.  Yep, gun control was the problem not blind hatred and devotion to a bloody religious fervor.  Somehow that makes sense to them and for the life of me I cannot figure out how.

Blog Post - Art - Hate

What part of terrorist and criminal do these people understand?  Banning guns or passing stricter gun control legislation will not prevent these people for obtaining and using guns.  How is placing the law-abiding in more danger by limiting their ability to defend themselves a good thing?  Gun control will not work as a means of preventing violence it will only make it worse.  Does anybody recall the history of that little experiment called ‘prohibition’?  Did it prevent alcohol from being consumed?  Nope, it made people law-breakers because many if not most did not quit drinking.  It caused an escalation in violence throughout the land rather than diminishing the consumption of alcohol.

Have our laws regarding drugs prevented the distribution and use of drugs?  Hardly!  If the gun control advocates somehow got their way and no private citizen could own or possess a fire arm what would be the result?  Instead of ridding society of guns and violence it would make many law-abiding citizens law-breakers because many would find a way to obtain a firearm.  We know the criminal and terrorist are not going to voluntarily give up their weapons.  If private citizens have no means of self-defense they become even greater targets.  It is the illogical logic of the leftist that promotes this craziness.

But, what is the real motivation of those in power wanting to disarm as many citizens as possible?  Since they know as well as we that banning guns or restricting them more severely will not prevent the criminal and terrorist from having and using them, why do they push this?  I suggest that those in power, not necessarily the Kool-Aide drinkers, push this to insure that we would be limited in our resistance as was the case in Nazi Germany.  A major move in despotic regimes is to disarm as many citizens as possible.

Blog Post - Logic Free Zone

If the current laws were enforced uniformly and fully it would be more a deterrent than disarming law-abiding citizens.  In cities and nations where the strictest gun controls are in place we find the most gun violence.  In cities and states where citizens have the right to concealed carry gun violence has gone down.  Let me also state that the 2nd Amendment was not addressing ‘deer hunting’ it was addressing the citizens as comprising the militia and was focused on our ability to protect and defend our lives and property.  That defense included defense against a rogue government.  So please give the deer hunting argument a rest that dog won’t hunt.

You may hate or fear guns and have a core belief that guns are evil but are axes, knives, hammers, automobiles, and any other item that has been used in killing or harming others also evil?  I know it is an old cliché but the problem is not the gun it is the human holding it.  Would it help if people were better trained to handle and respect firearms?  Would it help if people were more careful with loaded firearms?  Absolutely!  Everyone who owns a gun is not a rabid radical dangerously close to going off the deep end and committing mass murder.  I have a healthy respect for guns and tried to instill that respect into my children.

I would hate to be faced with the need to use my gun on another human being but if a criminal or terrorist comes with the intent to harm me or my family I want to be able to exercise that choice.  Having studied our founding documents and the writings of the founders and citizens of that era I find no justification for any assault on our right to ‘keep and bear arms’.

Keep your powder dry and your eyes open.  May we find a way to elect more people to high office who will support, protect and defend the Constitution of these United States against all enemies both foreign and domestic!  May God bless you and may God bless America.

AMERICA – EVERY GENERATION IS RESPONSIBLE…

Blog Post - Responsible

It is the responsibility of every generation to refresh the tree of liberty!  That is especially true today for those of us who love liberty and a Constitutional Republic in America in contrast to the voices, forces and ideologies seeking to destroy it.  I am convinced that our founders based the Constitution, our system of government and judicial system on the presumption that those in leadership would work toward preserving the principles of Freedom.  I am not so naïve as to think they did not foresee the of potential tyrannical despotism.  I believe they attempted to place safeguards and sound warnings loudly enough that centuries later we would still hear them.

Our founders faced some serious problems in forming a new government for our fledgling nation and I believe did a remarkable job addressing those issues attempting to insert adequate safeguards against despotism.  Like most systems of government theory is not always practice and thus we have the problems our nation faces today.  Although some wanted to make the office of President a Monarchy the majority recognized the problem of placing too much power in the hands of one individual.  They also wanted a court system that was strong but not one that legislated from the bench so they sought to develop a system that gave the court strength but not extreme power.

Blog Post - Separation

At the time of the Constitutional Convention in 1787 many were predisposed to developing a government that would provide ‘separation of powers’ where three branches were ‘co-equal’ in responsibility and power.  This was certainly not a new idea but one that had never successfully been established as it would be in America.  Its roots can be traced to the 4th Century with Aristotle, championed by John Locke, refined and expanded by Baron de Montesquieu.  The writings of those and others influenced many of our founders greatly as did the desire to safeguard against the monarchical system.  They wanted a strong executive held in check by a defined legislature balanced by a judiciary that reviewed matters from a constitutional basis.  That worked splendidly for decades but has been incredibly eroded over the past few decades and especially in the past few years.

In our present condition we have an administration pushing the limits of presidential authority, a congress abdicating responsibility and a court where nine black robed persons virtually decide what is legal and what is not.  Instead of having a ‘balance of power’ where three branches are ‘co-equal’ providing checks and balances we have blurred lines and distortion.  Our founders warned us of the dangers of any of the three branches becoming too strong or weak and laid the ultimate responsibility at the feet of WE THE PEOPLE.  If every generation does not ‘refresh the tree of liberty’ we will find that we are truly ‘one generation’ away from losing our liberty.

Blog Post - Divider

When the president, attorney general and other major political figures encourage the disregard for our justice system from a purely racial perspective we invite disruption of the peace.  When they encourage people to disturb the Peace in violence and lawlessness rather than attempting to educate as to the process, the facts and maintain civil decorum it is an invitation to lawlessness.  When a president exercises power outside the constitutional scope of that office, ignores congress and disobeys the courts it is rightly called tyrannyWhen congress abdicates its responsibility to exercise the power of the purse, pass legislation and give oversight to the lawful exercise and observance of those laws we can rightly call them impotent.  When the courts render decisions that can only be understood as rewriting laws we can rightly accuse them of abuse of power.  We have each of those happening to greater or lesser degree in present day America.  I do not wonder what our founders would say for I believe they demonstrated that in the American Revolution, Declaration of Independence and Constitutional Convention.

The president, attorney general and other major political figures have been calling for those of a particular ethnicity to create havoc because they perceive a wrong has transpired.  The flames of hatred and racism are being fanned by those in leadership and will result in incredible chaos if WE THE PEOPLE fail to unitedly make our voice heard.  We must all realize that while our system is not perfect the constitution must be respected.  I am not calling for watering the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots as did Jefferson but I am calling for watering the tree of liberty with our unified voice demanding a return to Constitutional Republicanism and lawfulness.

Blog Post - Divided House

America needs, no requires, our UNITED VOICE of support for liberty in contrast to the voices of hate.  America needs leaders who protect and defend the constitution even if it is not what they would prefer.  America needs leaders who will follow the law, working to change any and all bad laws and serve as representatives of the people not purveyors of power and position.

My heart breaks for my America and I plead, God bless America and God bless you!

THE GREAT AMERICAN DIVIDE…

Blog Post - Great Divide

Lately I have been doing some serious reflection on where we are, as a nation and a people, and I am deeply troubled.  We are a DIVIDED NATION and I do not mean we disagree I mean we are divided.  We are divided along racial lines more today than we were just a very few years ago even if Mr. Obama pretends things are better under him.  We are divided along political lines and there are divisions within the divisions often rendering us totally incapable of progress.  It is not disagreement that is the problem it is division.  Disagreement is or can be the springboard to discussion but division places a barrier preventing it.  I deal with some regularly who are so adamant in their views they reject any consideration of another point of view.  I have been attacked publicly, on Facebook and other Social Media because of my views.  I do not mind someone disagreeing with me but I do mind closed-mindedness that refuses to even hear what another has to say.

Where would we be or would we be had our founding fathers allowed their disagreements to become impassable divisions?  After the American Revolution there was much disagreement as to how the new nation should operate governmentally.  Some of the disagreements resulted in such heated discussions and divisions that friends parted ways never to be reconciled.  However, when they gathered in 1787 for the Constitutional Convention they refused to allow their disagreements to become divisions.  They proceeded to hammer out a document that would give them and us one of the most workable and meaningful systems of government man had or has witnessed.  I am so thankful that those men had such a deep love for the ideal of Freedom and Liberty that they refused to allow their personal preferences prevent them from finding a workable compromise and solution.  Today that is virtually absent in many, if not most, political circles.  Sometimes when I hear people speak I am reminded of the Apostle Paul’s words to the Corinthians when he chided them for their divisiveness and sectarianism.  They were dividing into sects within the Christian faith and allowing their views to divide them.  That was a pathway that would have been more than a little detrimental to the purpose of the church and Paul addressed it boldly.  Likewise in today’s world our divisions are the problem not our disagreements.

Blog Post - Constitutional Convention

In the Constitutional Convention they found a way to satisfy both sides of the “representation argument” by giving us a bicameral system with a Senate and House of Representatives.  The upper house would have equal representation by state and the lower house would represent the population.  There were some who wanted a very strong central government and some who wanted it to be almost a figurehead and they found a way to keep the States strong while giving the federal government enough power to “establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessing of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”  The Bill of Rights contained ten items without which there would have never ratification of the Constitution.  Among those was the Tenth Amendment, listed last but not least in importance that secured the rights of the states and the people and restricted the federal government from being an overreaching tyrannical entity, at least that was the intent.

Blog Post - Human Divide

Today our divisions so separate us that some are blinded by racial hatred and are completely incapable or unwilling to even discuss the matter, at least not honestly.  Some are so loyal to a particular ideology they reject any ideas other than those that fit their preferences and resort to character assignation of those in opposition rather than engage in a meaningful discussion.  One of my mentors used to say when I or one of his prodigies would come up with a valid point or idea, “Well even a blind squirrel can find an acorn every once in a while.”  He did not mean it in a demeaning way but a reminder to each of us that we need to listen to the ideas of others.

I am troubled by the DIVIDED-NESS (my new word) of our nation and see it placing before us a crevice so wide and deep that should we continue on this path will lead us to such civil strife that blood will flow in the streets.  I am not calling for that, oppose that and pray that we never see that but it is a very real possibility with our current course and position of DIVIDED-NESS.  I sometimes wonder if I am contributing to the divide in my sounding the alarm and if I determine I am, I will change course.  My desire and purpose is not to divide but bring America back to her moral moorings and I see no hope of that without a unified effort across the various divisions to seek the best good for our nation.  I confess and profess the Christian faith and my cornerstone is God’s word and call for all who believe to make 1 Chronicles 7:14 a key component of your daily life.  “If My people , who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”   We need a healing in our land!

God bless you and God please bless America again!
